And that's a wrap for the first week of Funguary 2024 - the Celestial Fungi.

I usually overwork a lot of what I do (see my Kelpie picture) and have a deep and lingering terror of working quickly and then having to put an image down. So in my mind most of these are sketches rather than anything else. But I'm trying to let go of the need to be perfect, and accept the idea that art is still valuable even if it's not what I thought I'd get to.

Filoboletus manipularis is found in south-east Asia, Australia and other parts of the world. No one would guess that these seemingly ordinary mushrooms glow at night like magical toadstools in a fairy wonderland.

The next mushroom for the Funguary challenge was one called filoboletus manipularis. They appeared to be tiny and bioluminescent, and so I wanted to make a bioluminescent dragon with those aspects.

Also, I am open for commissions if there is any interest.

Funguary Week 1 - filoboletus manipularis

My piece for Feefal's Funguary week one is done! I've opted to only do one a week since thats roughly all the time I'll have to work with for the month, it also means I get to pour a lot of effort int othe one I do. I had a lot of fun making this one especially after I got the big idea to incorporate dice object heads into the design, this might be a trend for the rest but we'll see how the idea train goes.
