Severely neglected component of modernish rockstar Eddie fics is Robin deciding to become an internet hater for Eddie. Like she finds out Eddie is semi/famous and is like "oh, you know what'll be hilarious?" And makes a twitter account dedicated to dissing him. You cannot convince me she wouldn't. Eddie knows she runs the account (it's not even negative it's just to rag on him. Tweets like "Eddie Munson seems like the kind of guy who would tell his friend he'll get her dr pepper and then get some bullshit knockoff. What the hell is a peppo" and "Eddie Munson has probably gotten so distracted by his SO that he walked into a wall and then was still so distracted said SO thought he was concussed." Or "Jeff is actually the best member of CC Eddie probably walked on cafeteria tables in HS" And of course "everybody says I hate on Eddie too much but they don't know he woke his SOs bff up just to ask if there was any peppo left. Twice.") But he can't do anything about it. It's a bit of a meme, because the account never says anything actually mean about Eddie, or his music. Just. Bizarre hypotheticals. (They are not hypothetical)
People are like "how do you feel about EddieMunsonh8r at twitter dot com"
And he has to grit his teeth and say people can have their own opinions about him, ignoring the fact that Robin was literally sitting beside him poking him when she tweeted earlier that day about him wiggling his fingers and saying he'd like to have a little morsel (in reference to cheezies).
When asked why she does it she just says "to keep him humble. And also it's funny to see if people believe he would do this stuff."
Gareth proposes one of them make an account like that about Steve, semi famous stuntman who's doing some more acting now, and the next day Robin tweets "CC seems like the kid of guys who'd make a fake hater account about Steve and use actually silly billy things he does as content" (Jeff tattled)(Eddie groaned)(Steve and Robin cackled)

It comes to a head when some random ET interviewer shoves a microphone in his face at a press event for Robin's movie and asks
"what do you have to say about Eddie Munson's criticisms of you, a straight person, being chosen for this unambiguously queer film?"
And Steve, exausted from the torrent of criticisms and hate he's gotten over the past few weeks since that jackass ranted on twitter, doesn't say no comment, or fuck off, or even I'm queer fuck off. No. Instead he pulls from years of training his parents put him through to be as elegant as possible, plasters on his most charming "I'm here and I hate it but I'm not letting you know that" smile he's had perfected since he was four, and says
"you know, I'll admit that when I started I absolutely was a nepo baby. Kinda hard to be a child model and not be, I think. But if anyone bothered to check, they'd see I haven't associated with my parents professionally-" or personay, but that wasn't public "since I was eighteen. They got me in the door, but I've worked hard to make my own way too." It's the first time he's mentioned his parents publicly since they cut him off, and it stings less than he thought it would, even knowing his dad had sabotaged a lot of his work when he was first set adrift.
Steve shrugs, casually. "As for his other...grievance... I don't think an actor should be pigeon holed based on their sexual or gender identity. It would force actors to come out who weren't ready or didn't want to, and possibly lead them to be typecast and limit their work. I think, as long as the craft, the care, is there, it shouldn't matter if an actor, such as myself, is playing a queer role and isn't out publicly or loudly." A little hint, a tidbit, a boon for anyone to grab onto and over analyze. "Coming out is a process, and a choice. Taking that choice away or trying to is something that's shameful. Far more shameful, I think, than not being out at all."
He smiles beatifically, thanks the reporter, and heads towards where he last saw Robin. She's probably going to yell at him for that, but then she'll also hug him so it'll be fine.
When they stumble through the door and kick off their fancy shoes into the coat closet, not bothering to pair them up, Robin checks her phone and cackles.
She holds up the twitter search page and it shows he's trending. He laughs too, says
"should I make it worse?"
And knows they're both a bit tipsy of the Prosecco that was served when Robin giggles and nods. He pulls out his phone, finds a tweet from that Eddie Munson guy that mentions him (or at least alludes to him) and hits to quote the tweet.
He shows Robin before he posts, she doubles over, giving him a thumbs up, and he sends it out to the internet.
Shut up or I'll release our sex tape <3
QRT: "there are a lot of LGBTQ actors why are straight people always pretending like they're better actors than us smh"
vaguely inspired by a fic I read like a month ago but nepo baby Steve who starts as a young model slowly transitioning into acting. self-made rockstar Eddie who by some miracle made it mainstream and is now the biggest artist of the year. Steve starring in a film by indie darling director Robin, she already has an Oscar nom under her belt, the there's tons of buzz around the production of the film because it's a queer drama. cue Eddie who has zero media training randomly trashing Steve on twitter like "these nepo babies who get roles because mommy is the producer and not because of their talent, i hate straight people." his stans start harassing and stalking Steve, creating that "only gay people should play gay roles" discourse to the point where he gets outed. steve getting so fed up he just quote-tweets eddie with "shut up or i'll release our sex tape <3". he's kidding of course, but the fans don't know that. what comes next is months of relentless fans shipping them together and eddie is absolutely HATING it, the last thing he wanted was to be famous for a controversy and not his own talent, but he can't really deny anything without facing backlash and also he started it and he kinda respects steve's witty response. steve subtly playing it up by liking eddie's posts on instagram and vague-posting with lyrics from his songs. the internet is convinced they're in a months-long relationship and they haven't even met in person.

Carrot Harvest Helped Metal Detectorist FindA Ancient Coins Hoard
When Alan Baxter found a medieval ring in a farmer's field he knew there could be more ancient artefacts nearby - but the stubble from the thick oat crop made it difficult for his metal detector to get anywhere near the ground. So he waited.
Four years later the farmer had planted and harvested carrots.
"It must have had a deep plough when the carrots got lifted and I could get my detector right to the soil," the 44-year-old said.
"Every 3ft I was getting a signal. I couldn't move, there was stuff everywhere.
"I didn't want to go home."
The highlight of his haul in 2022 was a hoard of farthings from the reign of 15th Century Scottish King James III.
"I got my first one and I knew it was really rare because I know my coins," he said.
"After that it was just like a tap, it just kept on going, and over the course of a few weeks I pulled 52 of them."
Tumblr media
The 500-year-old coins, which were made of copper and were worth a quarter of a penny, were in very good condition, Mr Baxter, from Falkirk, said.
The coins are irregular shapes. They have the Saltire - the cross of St Andrew - on one side and a crown on the other.
"To hold something that's hundreds of years old for the first time is extraordinary," he said.
"You get a real buzz going up and down your body which lasts all day and all night."
An expert at the National Museum of Scotland said it was the first hoard of James III farthings to be found since 1919.
Metal detectorists need to ask for permission from landowners to search on their land and anything they find must be handed into the Treasure Trove for analysis and recording.
Under Scottish law all finds of archaeological, historical or cultural significance must be reported and can be claimed by the Crown.
Neither detectorists nor landowners have ownership rights to any archaeological finds made in Scotland. Finds that are allocated to a museum through the Treasure Trove system are usually acknowledged by an award paid to the detectorist.
Detectorists generally split the money with the landowner.
Mr Baxter has detected at many sites, all of which he keeps a closely guarded secret. They include the 14-acre fields in Fife where he has now found more than 500 pieces ranging from the Bronze Age to the medieval period.
Tumblr media
"I go along to farmers' doors with my portfolio of previous finds and show them what I do and ask them for permission to detect on their land," he said.
"You try to make yourself presentable, you put gel in your hair and wash your car and turn up in nice clothes.
"I hate getting permission because it's quite awkward speaking to the landowner. Farmers are busy and the last thing they want to do is speak to a wee guy asking for metal detecting permission."
The James III hoard has been put into the British numismatics journal, which charts the best finds in the country.
It also includes two Balliol coins which Mr Baxter discovered at the site in Fife. These farthings are extremely rare and are the only two to have ever been found in Scotland.
John Balliol reigned as king of Scotland from 1292 to 1296.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The find was allocated to the National Museums of Scotland and £5,000 was paid out.
Mr Baxter has also found 69 medieval coins from the reign of English King Edward I, whose armies invaded Scotland at the end of the 13th Century.
The medieval ring, which was his first find on the Fife site, dates between the 13th and 14th century.
"Initially I thought it was a bottle top because when it came out of the ground I could see the silver edges," Mr Baxter said.
"I saw the writing at the side and the big clasped hands at the front and I thought: 'That's a medieval ring'.
Tumblr media
"It was just a great feeling to see it because it was a sunny day and it was twinkling away and it was in really good condition because it's been coated in gold, which has protected it from the soil."
Mr Baxter, who works as a lab technician, said he believed it was a betrothal ring.
"It would have been a higher status individual who owned it," he said.
"It weighs 9.5g, it's a heavy piece. A medieval penny would weigh about 1.2g, so that's about seven medieval pennies, so it wouldn't have been a peasant who owned that at the time."
The ring is silver but it has been coated in gold. It was eight inches down in the ground when his detector picked it up.
Mr Baxter, who has written a book entitled Making history: My Life As a Scottish Metal Detectorist, said it was hard for people to understand how difficult it was to find ancient artefacts.
He said: "In a general field 90% of the time there will be nothing in it.
"You could go in all the fields on the right and left along the M9 from Falkirk to Edinburgh and there would be nothing in them apart from modern Victorian stuff or Georgian stuff.
"It's hard to get stuff that's beyond 500 and 600 years old because the population was a lot lower."
Tumblr media
Mr Baxter said a field could be full of medieval items, but detectors were not going to find them if the crops were too high.
"Then it comes down to knowledge and the best conditions," he said.
"You need to know that the crops need to be soft cut.
"Barley and wheat is softer than oats. When oats get cut the stubble is really hard.
"And obviously the carrot harvest was the best."
By Angie Brown.

so I've heard in the past that some members of the band have hinted at not being 100% straight and richard has given hints at wanting to know what it's like to be a woman, could you please give me some sources to those since I've looked everywhere and can't really find them? thank you, if not, it's totally understandable
Another really really old ask, not because i didn't want to, but because i wanted to findas much info as possible 🌺 sorry anon for taking so long..
Well, the most recent 'hint' was Flake's podcast with topic 'gay/lesbian' where he mentioned that the topic came up one evening when the band were chatting and it turned out they all had their experiences 🥰
Rammstein is imo a band who has always been very 'inclusive' in any sexual preferences, and especially in Till's lyrics you can tell he is very interested in anything out there (not that that makes him 'not straight' (to be honest, i think he is, by some other quotes in interviews 😊) but i wouldn't be surprised if he tried some stuff somewhere in life).
Richard did an 2010 interview in Canada (don't have a link to the original, just this transcript) where he was quoted (about 'Mann gegen Mann')
"Actually, Till showed the lyrics to our Gay community, to our friends, just to make sure, because if you talk about something that you not really are, it's always kind of hard. Sometimes you cross the line, you don't think about it, but it could be offensive. If you do something because it's your experience, it's fine, but if you write something and you're not actually a part of it, I think you should make sure that everything you want to say is right. So he gave the lyrics to some friends, and they were very approving."
Which sort of confirms that they don't see themselves as gay so much. Also in interviews where they were asked 'are you gay', they usually end up with 'no'... interestingly, i don't think i've seen an interview where an interviewer explicitely asked 'are you bisexual' 🌺 (by the way, i would be really surprised if Richard hadn't some experience with a guy when he was younger, i vaguely remember he alluded to such in a really old interview, but i don't have a link).
--
Richard indeed has expressed ideas about his feminine side several times, in the interbiew above he says for instance
"If you talk to me right now, I'm a big believer in getting myself in balance between the female and the male side. I have a female side too, obviously."
And very striking was in several interviews ca 2021 after he did the cover 'Always on my mind' with Till for the Emigrate album 'The Persistence of Memory' and then made it a duet, stating:
"I mean, obviously, Till has also this very characteristic voice. And then it was pretty fast. He recorded one day. And then I was listening to it, and I felt a little bit that his performance was a little bit too male-oriented. So I felt I need a little female touch to it. So that’s why my personality came in. And I think it’s a good combination"
So he felt a female touch was needed, and added his own voice to Till's track 🥰
And ofcourse in 2023 he shared on his ig
Tumblr media
"I've always wondered what it's like to be a woman"
Now ofcourse this could just be a Kruspe-caption 😊 but with the 'DT' video in mind and his role in it, it makes one wonder doesn't it... where is that making of when we need it 🌺😊
---
From the others i don't have quotes at hand...sorry...but maybe someone else has and is willing to share 🌺

Review on My Strange Hero
So, My strange hero finally came to an end last monday and I decided to write a review and also share my thoughts about it here on tumblr. We will go all the way down the story, characters and the cast. THE FOLLOWING REVIEW MAY HAVE SPOILERS! SOOO HERE WE GO :)
Tumblr media
Profile
Drama: My Strange Hero (English title) / Bok-Su's Back ( literal title)
Revised romanization: Boksooga Dolawadda
Hangul: 복수가 돌아왔다
Director: Ham Joon-Ho
Writer: Kim Yoon-YoungNetwork: SBS
Episodes: 32
Release Date: December 10, 2018 - February 4, 2019
Runtime: Monday & Tuesday 22:00 (35 minutes each / 2 eps per day)
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Plot Synopsis (by AsianWiki Staff ©)
When Kang Bok-Su (Yoo Seung-Ho) was a high school student, he was falsely accused of committing violence and kicked out of school. This was caused by his first love Son Soo-Jeong (Jo Bo-Ah) and a male student Oh Se-Ho. Kang Bok-Su is a now an adult, but his life has not gone smoothly. To get revenge on Son Soo-Jeong and Oh Se-Ho, he returns to the same high school as a student. The environment at the school has changed and Kang Bok-Su gets involved in unexpected cases.
THE ACTORS / CHARACTERS
Yoo Seung Ho As Kang Bok Su
The last time I saw Yoo Seung Ho was in ‘I’m not a robot’, I thought he was a great actor, his acting skills where absolutely amazing and ofc he was very cute. In My Strange Hero he plays the role of a high school student and later an adult (who is also an student somehow) but don’t worry he actually acts the same the whole drama. I think Yoo Seung Ho was perfect to play Kang Bok Su who was a cute/dummy baby but also had a great sense of justice and fairness.
Tumblr media
Jo Bo Ah as Son Soo Jeong
Well, this is the first time I see her in a Kdrama to be honest. Anyways, she appears in ‘Temperature of Love & Monster.’ as well. I also gotta say I was amazed by here acting skills, she played Son Soo Jeong really well. The character was a cute student who becomes a teacher 9 years later. The writers did great giving this character moments where she didn’t do what was ‘right’ but still be a good person.
Tumblr media
Kwak Dong Yeon As Oh Se HO
The first time I got to see him was in ‘My ID Is Gangnam Beauty’, he played his rol really well but it was a ‘common’ rol to play. However, Oh Se Ho was a difficult and different character, he was an antagonist but at the beginning he’s a dumb, naive and innocnet student who just wanted to be loved. It was a complicated character so Dong Yeon has all my respect, oh I almost forget to say he’s only 21 years old, the age gap between him and the main couple is huge.
Tumblr media
My Thoughts (NO Spoilers)
My strange hero is a fairly complete story as far as I'm concerned, it also provides a positive message & motivation to young people in a certain way. I really like how it stands again the educational system and shows how it affects students, and how they are pressured by their parents. Something that was really beautiful in this drama was the way it mentions that everybody has dreams even when it does not seem like it. Finally, my strange hero also includes several famous phrases that serve as motivation, I think that was a heartwarming aspect. If you are someone who enjoys comedy, romance, school and drama, you will really love my strange hero. 8/10
Tumblr media
Things you should know
Yoo Seung Ho in school uniform oml
cute & adorable couple
evil witch mother as the main antagonist
lots of school stuff
al least 20% of the drama is only flashbacks
hilarious
self-growth, fairness, forgivness and friendship
good life lessons
good quotes
cutie male lead
cool plans
the supportive cast is really good
Tumblr media
Well, that was my honest (finda) review, hope you enjoy the drama; comment below if you liked My Strange Hero.

Steve reaches behind the desk, into the crevace that has a number of crumpled up papers shoved in it. He smooths them out, checking they aren't important (mostly it's old math homework, half finished and never handed in), when his name in all capital yellow crayon catches his eye.
He reads over the list and grins. In the back of a drawer, he finds a pen with ink that changes colours. He smooths the list out more, and sets to work going through the points, a little wistful. Carefully, he checks off the list, one by one, making sure the checks show up with how half-dried the gel pen is.
Eddie comes in, hair tied back and wiping sweat from his face with the hem of his shirt. "So. Find anything important?"
Steve grins and carefully folds the paper in half. "Yeah, actually. It seems this fell behind your desk, so I took the liberty of finishing it up for you." He holds the page out to Eddie between two fingers, as though he isn't giddy to watch Eddie read it.
Brows quirked, Eddie takes it and unfolds it, squinting a little to read the faded crayon. His face goes a bit pinker. "Oh."
"yeah. Figured it was time you checked some things off it."
Eddie's face cracks open in a grin that stretches ear to ear. "That so, sugar?"
Steve shrugs. "Oh yeah. It was a pretty thorough list. Surprised it was blank when I found it."
"mmmh? Yeah? What about the goal?"
"what's the list say?"
"all checked off, including the last one."
"well. There you have it."
Eddie puts the paper down and cups Steve's face in his sweaty palms. Steve doesn't really mind, with how Eddie's eyes look at him.
He leans in, kissing Steve slow and deep, before pulling away.
"can't believe my original plan worked."
"it was a solid plan."
"mm. Yeah. And now we're moving in together. Baby me would've lost it."
"you literally cried when I asked if you wanted to. Grown up you also lost it."
"semantics. Now." He pecks Steve again before pulling further away. "Help me move the last of the boxes and put this," he taps the folded paper "somewhere we won't lose it. I wanna put it on the fridge."
-----
Eddie's brain is full. It's always full, but today especially. He's been with Uncle Wayne for about a year now, and even before then accidentally told Wayne how he thought Scott Summers was cute (and very awesome. LAZER EYES, WAYNE. LAZER. EYES!) so he knows he's safe, and that's good. Because Eddie's brain is very very full today and it's not with stories or dragons or even Scott Summers. It's filled with Steve Harrington.
Steve Harrington who is a year below him in school and doesn't really pay attention to anyone except his friends and has a wide triangle smile that makes his eyes squint, which Eddie has seen approximately once when a butterfly landed on Steve's arm and apparently tried to eat him. Or lick him? Whatever butterflies do. That's not the point. The point is Steve is the love of Eddie's life. That's the point.
Eddie decided this when Steve had smiled like that at the butterfly but also when Eddie had frozen one day in the cafeteria when it was so loud and Steve had bumped into him from behind and muttered a sorry, sorry. You okay? And not mentioned how Eddie was standing in the way or that his eyes were big and wide and probably wet. Then patted Eddie on the shoulder and said alright, take care, so close Eddie could see the uneven placement of the moles dotting around Steve's forehead and cheeks and neck and arms.
So. Eddie's brain was full of Steve Harrington today, and to fix that Eddie would just have to devise a masterplan to woo him. Step by step, Eddie writes with the only thing he could find in the trailer in the five seconds he looked, a bright yellow crayon. He thinks it fits, though. Steve seems like a person who yellow suits.
1) get him notice me but not in a bad way.
2) make friends with his friends
3) have my friends be friends with him
4) share music with him
5) tell him about dungeons and dragons
6) listen to music he likes and not complain even if I don't like it
7) make him a mixtape so we can both listen and like some songs
8) ask about his sports stuff and remember it
9) do something very brave so he knows I can and will protect him if needed
10) kiss him in the moonlight
The final point is, of course, the most important. He writes it in capital letters so they take up twice the room as the others.
11) STEVE FALLS MADLY IN LOVE WITH ME
It's fool proof.
12 year old Eddie Munson writing an Incredibly Detailed™ (it's in yellow crayon) 10-step plan for wooing the cutest boy at his school, aka, Steve "omg he has SO MANY MOLES UNCLE WAYNE" Harrington.
22 year old Steve Harrington finding it balled up under Eddie's bed during a "we're moving in together" clear out so Wayne can finally have his bedroom back, then handing it to Eddie with all the little checkboxes that were previously unticked, ticked.
Especially the one at the bottom.
Steve falls madly in love with me ✓

Ohhh yes. (I love doing this collab thing it's so fun!!!) I have been thinking about the reveal to Eddie of who venom is. (Also putting a readmore because this post is getting long lol)
Eddie has done a couple team ups with venom and Spiderman, and noticed that venom often just. Bodily chucks Spidey out of the way of danger. It's not Eddie's preferred method but hey, at least the kinda generic alien looks out for the kid, right?
But Eddie doesn't account for the fact that Venom will often nod along or ask clarifying questions when he decides to break the fourth wall. It's. Bizarre. (It doesn't remind him of Steve shut up).
Super weird but Eddie is too obsessed with Steve and. Whatever brand of crazy he has going on that has him eating apparently pounds of chocolate a day and muttering to himself about manners, Robin!
But anyway. It's been months since Eddie has met both venom and Steve, and Spiderman and company have requested (over walkie) for all available back up, so they both show.
The fight is pretty bad and there are gashes and cuts and bruises and many ringing ears, but no one broke any major bones or died so. It's a win.
Except Spiderman looks around, and gasps. "Where's venom?"
No one's really seen them since the baddies brought out their big scary machine that kinda backfired because it malfunctioned and only made a really high pitch noise.
Dustin curses and runs off to where they were last seen, calling for venom, Eddie hot on his heels. Dustin is worried and it's freaking him out.
They find Steve, curled up in rubble and looking beat to shit and Eddie nearly flips because what the shit is Steve doing here? What could he possibly be doing and now he's hurt.
But Dustin scrabbles over the rubble, rips his mask off and Eddie is close enough to hear Steve muttering for Robin, where is she? he needs Robin, she needs him, they need each other where is she? And Eddie always thought robin just lived in his head, that Steve had an imaginary friend or something. but Dustin is nodding and standing and saying "I'll find her, don't worry Steve, I'll find her." Like this Robin chick is an actual physical person
Dustin calls for Robin, and Eddie helps, though he doesn't know where a person could be hiding. Or what Robin looks like. Dustin doesn't explain.
Dustin lifts some larger stuff, flipping it over and goes "Robin!" But all Eddie sees is a gross looking puddle of what he assumes to be oil until-
The puddle surges towards Dustin and Eddie isn't fast enough to intercept it.
Goo settles around Dustin, before it seems to absorb into him. Eddie is. Sort of freaking out. Like he's seen a lot of shit, okay, but watching his little spiderbuddy be accosted by goo and then have it seem to go into his skin is bit much.
But Dustin looks pleased if a bit uncomfortable and a little blood pops out of his hand, which he holds out as he maneuvers back towards Steve (who Eddie nearly forgot about fuck fuckfUCK) and then the blob speaks
"where is" the blob of goo says, swaying slightly, mostly teeth but also with large white eyes that blink too much, "my steeevee"
And Dustin barely gets less than a foot from Steve before the good detaches itself from him and flings itself onto Steve, who is reaching for the goo
Eddie watches as Steve cradles a puddle of sentient goo and whispers that it's alright they're together again he'll be fine no head eating he's serious and yes he missed her too so much
And then the goo expands around Steve, rippling and growing, and before him stands Venom in all their toothy glory.
Venom shrugs. Claps Eddie on the back. Says "sorry about that, Deadpool." This reminds Eddie that venom-Steve!- doesn't know his actual name despite his cavalier attitude towards his identity" You won't tell, will you?"
Eddie doesn't think anybody'd believe him if he tried.
speaking of venom!steve (@findafight), I have a related pitch:
Science nerd supreme Dustin Henderson becomes spider man, and is subsequently forcibly adopted by Venom!Steve(+ Robin) and Deadpool!Eddie
Lonely jock Steve Harrington can't please his father, loses his job/girlfriend, accidentally fuses with symbiote!Robin. They're more than soulmates, they're two halves of the same whole. Together they're more than a little deranged and chocolate-obsessed, full of love and eager to bash assholes in the head with limbs shaped like spiked clubs.
Eddie can bounce back from a knife in his gut, a bullet in his brain, or, on one memorably unpleasant occasion, being literally eaten alive by mutant bats. But the one thing he can never manage is to fit in with the other heroes — so why try? He is a freak, and he's not going to hide it.
Dustin & his little superfriends think Venom is a monster when they first read Nancy's article about them in the Hawkins Post. But every time he encounters them, Venom seems more determined to manhandle Dustin out of harm's way than to fight with him. Before long, Dustin is pestering Venom to be his 'backup' whenever he's up against a powerful villain. Meanwhile, Dustin somehow finds himself helping Nancy's weirdo ex get back on his feet. Steve is a sweet guy despite everything, and Dustin hates to see him hurting.
The new mercenary on the block tells Dustin to call him Eddie about 5 minutes after they meet — if, by "meet," you mean "Eddie tracked him down, told him he though dressing up like a giant spider was brave, then followed him around the city for an hour talking nonstop the whole time" (Dustin was suddenly intimately aware of what it was like for other people to be around him when he was caught up in one of his 'nerd rants,' as Steve called them). It turns out that Eddie is exactly Dustin's brand of crazy, and the two get along like a house on fire.
Now, if only Dustin could get his two favorite antiheroes to get along as well...
Eddie has no secret identity, but it takes Dustin a little while to figure out Steve's (there's a period where he thinks Steve has a secret girlfriend named Robin). At one point in that period, Dustin introduces Steve to Eddie as civilians (under duress — Eddie is being hunted down, and Steve's apartment is a safe place to lay low), and the resulting situation is... awkward.
Steve&Robin don't trust Eddie with Dustin. They don't know him well but they know he's reckless and likes to tempt danger — just like Dustin, but supercharged. But they're not going to turn him away when he needs help, not when they know what he means to Dustin. And besides, it would be hypocritical of them to judge him for being alleged murderer, when they definitely bit the heads off a few bad guys back when they were still figuring things out.
Eddie is a storyteller by nature, of course he knows he's living a superhero comic. But that doesn't mean he knows everything. Eddie thinks Venom is boring, too serious, another alien monster just like all the others that visit Earth to brawl with its defenders seemingly every other Tuesday. Where's the complexity, the intrigue, the motive?? Steve on the other hand... Steve is a mystery, a truly bizarre character underneath his plain, archetypal exterior, and Eddie is determined to figure him out.

Thinking about Dorothy, twelve and scared and wanting to go home, walking back to the Emerald city after throwing water on the Wicked Witch of the West. The adrenaline wears off as her and her companions, her friends, set up camp for the night, and it hits her. She's killed a woman.
Again.
And brave little Dorothy Gale tries to hold it together, tries not to worry the wonderful new friends who have supported her throughout her journey in Oz, tries to be brave. But eventually, once Lion and Toto are cuddled up and asleep, Tin Man has taken to staring into the small fire, and Scarecrow stays just inside the circle of light staring up at the stars, Dorothy lets herself cry.
She shifts to hide it, lies down and curls away from the fire, muffles her sniffles in the blanket they've carried for her. All the fear and loneliness, the frustration, the guilt that has built up since she dropped into Oz spilling silently out.
She breathes deep, trying to contain the sobs, until there's a hand on her shoulder, and Scarecrow is there looking at her worriedly. His eyes are buttons but the burlap surrounding them folds and crinkles around them, stitched eyebrows furrowing. She sits up slowly, watching as he tilts his head to the side, squeezing her shoulder gently.
Suddenly, she wraps her arms tightly around Scarecrow's middle, needing the comfort of a hug. (Dorothy is brave, yes, but she is twelve and homesick and guilt ridden.) She burrows her face into his chest, breathes in the familiar scent of straw. Her friend carefully rubs his hands down her back, whispering reassurances that she can't accept.
"oh, Scarecrow! I didn't want to kill her! I never--i never wanted to hurt anyone. I-I just want to go home!"
Scarecrow pauses, stills unnaturally for a moment, before pulling back from her. He looks her face over, button eyes twitching as his stitched mouth pulls into something like a grim frown. It is so unlike what Dorothy has come to expect from her boneless friend that it is mildly unsettling. The only time she recalls him being this serious is perhaps when they saw the Wizard and the man gave them the task to retrieve the Witch's broom.
Her Scarecrow friend is so often happy, carefree in a way that lifts her spirits. It wouldn't do now, would assuge her guilt, and his lack of levity grounds her in an odd way. She knows he had been afraid, or timid, or... Something else about killing the Wicked Witch. But now she's dead and Dorothy killed her, even if it was an accident to save him. She's unsure how long his seriousness will last. Or if it will reassure her.
He looks at her, unblinkingly (for Scarecrows with button eyes don't blink) before glancing over his shoulder towards Tinman tending the fire. He makes to stand, unusually graceful. "Let's go for a little walk, alright, Dot?" He says, almost casually, but there is a tension in his voice. She nods, allowing him to help her (however unsteadily) to her feet and wrap the blanket around her shoulders. They wander a ways away from their campsite, but still within sight of the fire Tin Man resolutely tends to.
Scarecrow loops himself down to lean against a tree and gestures for Dorothy to join him. When she's settled and the blanket is readjusted to let as little of the cooling night air touch her, he begins.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to speak to you before all this." He gestures aimlessly. "But there were a lot of moving parts, and my mind is rather slow and tangled these days. Still. you should've known before hand."
"known what?" She can't help but ask. Scarecrow is acting mysterious. Though along their journey he sometimes would seem to know more than he left on, he'd never been avoidant of sharing with her before.
He sighs. "what I am about to tell you, Dorothy Gale, you must swear-" he grasps her hands and holds her gaze. "Swear you will never, ever, tell anyone."
Dorothy swallows. She nods. "I swear. Scarecrow, I swear."
"you must mean it. No-one in Oz can know of any of it."
She looks at Scarecrow, his button eyes meeting her perfectly human ones, and it strikes her that he has never seemed more human. He is obviously not; he has no bones and no organs; he feels no pain, can have his straw strewn about and restuffed and be perfectly fine; he does not need food or water or sleep; and he is, clearly, a scarecrow. But he has always had an air about him, a light in his eyes that leaves it without question that he was alive.
Now, though, with him asking, begging, her to swear she will keep some terrible secret for him; there is desperation in the way his voice trembles, his hands grip hers, his eyes stare her down. With that desperation, he seems fully human.
Dorothy squeezes his gloves hands, nodding. "I won't speak a word of it to anyone. Your secrets will be safe."
"Good. Good." He nods to himself. Shakes his head. "I am not quite sure where to start." He admits.
"the beginning?"
Scarecrow grins at her. Taps his burlap nose with his finger. "Ah, but where is that? When I met you? When I met her? Who's to say?" There is his silliness, sneaking through. It reassured Dorothy that perhaps this isn't some terrible story after all.
"you, I suppose?"
Shrugging, he sighs. "Yes. You're right." He rubs his ill formed jaw with his hand, takes a deep breath, and says with much gravitas, "her name is Elphaba Thropp."
Which doesn't make much sense to Dorothy. "Whose name?"
"The Witch of the West."
"how-"
"Dorothy," Scarecrow says. He rarely interrupts. "You must listen to the end. I am not telling you this to make you feel bad. Actually, hopefully it will ease your mind-" she doesn't know how knowing the name of the woman she killed will ease much of anything for her, but Scarecrow is so rarely serious. "Please listen. And-- and try not to judge me too harshly." She wonders what he might reveal that would make him think she'd judge him after he'd helped her so much. She nods.
He does what could be a swallow. He takes a deep breath, straw shuddering and trembling in him. His hands fiddle with the frayed hem of his shirt. "I know her name, because I know her."
Dorothy cannot hide her gasp. Scarecrow chuckles grimly. "Oh, Dot, it's worse than that." His head tips to the side as he looks at her. "I love her."
She shakes her head, pulling the blanket tighter around her. "But why--"
"I'll explain. I promise." He shrugs. "We met at school." He begins.
He tells her of almost-tramplings and of parties, and of roommates dated. "Glinda and I were never going to be long-term, if not for Elphaba, I suppose."
"Glinda? The good?"
"that's the one."
"oh my. Is it common for Scarecrows and Horses to attend school with Humans then?"
Scarecrow tilts his head again in that odd way of his. "Well, Animal bans restricted unsegregated businesses and schools. Under the Wizard things are very strict. Harsh. I had to make sure Feldspur was well away from the Emerald City a few years ago for his protection."
He sounded very grave, and the mention of the Wizard troubled Dorothy. He was behind Animals being pushed away? It didn't make sense. He was supposed to be wonderful.
"as for Scarecrows, I suppose I... Should have mentioned I... Well, Dot. I haven't always been a scarecrow."
"what?"
He scratches his cheek, shrugs. "I was Human, up until just before I met you"
"how??"
He winces. "I think I should tell it all in order, actually."
So he does. Explains how the Wizard tricked Elphaba, how she defied him, and he named her Wicked. Scarecrow tells her that he looked for Elphaba, that he and Glinda were sick with worry and grief, that they ended up in the Emerald City. How he continued his search.
Dorothy thinks he may never have told anyone this before. Scarecrow has been a steady presence for her during their travels, and now he unleashes secrets from his heart, she realises that he may have been pretending. For her sake.
His story continues mostly smoothly, until after he ran away with Elphaba (which, Dorothy can admit, she finds horribly romantic. Like something out of a fairy tale. It also causes acidic guilt to burn at her insides) and Elphaba had a vision of Dorothy coming to Oz and her sister's death. He trips and stumbles over their confrontation in Munchkinland, over him getting caught in Elphaba's place.
"I do not regret it." He says, steadily. And then avoids telling her anything that happened after except that they injured him, and he felt Elphaba's magic cover him. Then he met Dorothy.
She thinks the story finished, and is hurt and confused by why he would tell her all this. He loved the Witch, who was not so wicked, and Dorothy killed her. Why is he so kind, so gentle. He seems perfectly happy, now that all is in the open, despite that his love is dead. It makes no sense.
"I wrote to her, after we saw the wizard. Pure luck Chistery was able to get it to her."
He leans in, then, smiling. "Dot. Remember, I told you all this to ease your mind." He gives her hand a squeeze. "The most important thing you should know, from all of this. Is that Elphaba is a regular human woman that happens to have green skin." He says it significantly. Meaningfully.
It still confuses Dorothy.
He smiles, kindly, and asks "do you melt in the rain?"
Dorothy shakes her head.
"do you melt swimming in a pond?"
Another shake.
"do you cry in pain when you bathe?"
"no? It's just--" it hits her, then, what scarecrow is saying. She gasps. "It's just water." It comes out awed.
He nods. "Indeed."
"oh! It was a-a trick!"
His voice is sadder, now. "a cruel one, perhaps. But necessary."
"why?"
He tilts his head, hums. "For all the reasons I told you the story for. The Wizard sent us to kill her, and I love her, so I could not let it happen. If people know she's alive, she would be in danger. This way, we are free."
Dorothy can see it. See why Scarecrow told her all about their past. She had to know he loved her, had to know why he loved her, to understand why they did it, to accept it.
"I see. When will you meet her again?"
He smiles, big and full and bright. "As soon as I see you safely home, I shall meet her, and we shall leave Oz as well."
The thought swells Dorothy's heart. He sounds happy, her Scarecrow, self assured and unworried. He leaves his home to live with his love. It is tragically romantic.
She hugs him, smiling for the first time since they entered that castle. "thank you for telling me, Scarecrow."
He wraps his arms around her, squeezes, and says. "Fiyero."
She hums a question, making him chuckle.
"my name. It's Fiyero."
Dorothy pulls away, and continues to smile. "It has been very nice getting to know you, Fiyero."
"same to you, Dorothy."
She leans back in to hug him more thoroughly.
Tomorrow they will again set off to the tell the wizard of the Witch's death, but now it is enough for her to know that Elphaba lives.

Been thinking about another time travel au...
But this time, it's Robin. Just. Robin. She lands the Friday before Will goes missing, and she immediately assumes Steve went with her. Because of course he time traveled with her, why wouldn't he?
Until she gets to school and sees Steve flirting with Nancy and joking with Carol and Tommy. His eyes glance over her without recognition and she realizes she's alone. She panics every morning period until deciding to just go up and corner Steve at lunch and explain to him, try to prove to him she's actually his best friend from the future, and get help.
It ends up with her sitting on the floor of the boys bathroom crying, holding onto (a very confused and mildly freaked out) Steve's hand, and telling him that her day has sucked because how do you even deal with timetravel without your best friend? How do you deal with trying to save the world without them? She can't do this without him and she's freaking out and she wants her best friend back.
And Steve going "hey, uh. Okay. So... you're my friend in this weird future you're trying to stop? Prove it."
Which is something Robin can do. She stares at him for a long time, thinking, and Steve's huffs
"yeah okay. Super weird prank or whatever. Don't bug me again." And goes to stand up but Robin tugs his hand towards her and stops him.
"you are so impatient! I'm trying to think of something to say that won't freak you out and has actually happened! Gimme a minute!"
And Steve raises his eyebrows but he does wait.
"your aunt Ev." She says, finally. "She was your favourite grownup. Loved star trek. You cried so hard when she died and- uh. At her funeral, your dad got mad at you."
Steve blinks at her, brows furrowed."How...how did you know that? Nobody knows that."
Robin smiles. "Dingus. I'm your best friend from the future. You did."
Steve frowns. "Tell me something else."
"okay" she nods "you and Tommy tell everyone both your first kisses were with Carol but the day before you kissed each other."
"what the fuck."
"do you believe me now? Because seriously I need your help with this but I can keep going."
Swallowing Steve nods. Gives her a hand up.
"great. Okay. So, I think we need to tell Jonathan and Nancy about this. Then go to Joyce and Hopper. I'm not quite sure? You were always better at gameplans honestly."
"what about Tommy and Carol?"
She looks at him, and tilts her head (the same way he does) thinking. "Sure. Why not. They'll be suspicious why we're so buddy buddy now anyways."

For the STWG daily drabble prompt “accidental confessions” (I wrote this half in bed last night, half in bed this morning. Forgive some mistakes thanks) took it in a different direction.
It takes a full day for Steve to be released from hospital after they’ve confirmed he had broken ribs and a concussion amongst his other more minor injuries. Claudia is incredibly greatful she had the foresight to offer being the poor boys secondary emergency contact in the spring, seeing as Dustin had complained that Steve’s parents took a week to sign him out in November.
She got the call and was able to pick Dustin up and follow the ambulance to the hospital (Steve’s nervous friend had ridden with him, needing attention herself but refusing to let go of his hand). The smell of the smoke from the embers of Starcourt is something she doesn’t think she’ll forget, the stink sticking to Dustin’s hair and clothes. She’s sure it was the same for Steve.
He was under observation (and they did assist him in bathing, thank goodness) before being able to check himself out. She had swooped in and bundled him into her car as his friend’s parents ushered her away with the promise that the two could call, but needed to be home with family for a while to heal.
No one mentions that Claudia Henderson is not related to the Harringtons. If they had, she thinks she would have lost whatever composure she has been clinging to since she saw the sky burning red above the former mall and pulled up to be told her two boys had been caught in the chaos. Steve had been with Dustin when the Hargrove boy had threatened Lucas and protected them, had been coming around for dinner or to drive Dustin around, or to help him style his hair or countless other little things or no reason whatsoever. He has slotted into their lives easily, fitting into a place that neither Claudia nor Dustin realized they needed. He is her son in any way that mattered, and she needed him home. With her.
Finally pulled into the driveway, she opens the passenger door and holds her arms out, letting Steve grip her shoulders and securing a hand in his armpit. She hauls him out and supports him as he stumbles through the entryway.
“This way, sweetheart. You’re in the guest bedroom. Dusty helped air it out for you earlier, so everything’s fresh.” She says, nudging him towards the room. He nods and goes where she guides.
She helps him change into a matching pyjama set she had tucked away for him, as sometimes Dustin had horrible nightmares and could only be calmed by seeing Steve, awake and no longer visibly harmed, and he ended up sleeping on the chesterfield or Dustin’s floor. They were soft, and buttoned down the front, so everything was comfortable and he didn’t over exert or hurt himself trying to get the top over his head.
“I can do the pants myself, mrs. H.”
She smiles. “Of course. I’ll turn around and you let me know when you’re ready so I can help you get settled.”
“‘Kay.” There’s more shuffling than she would like, and more groans, but Steve gives her a “ready” before she gets too worried. He’s sitting on the edge of the bed, loose pants the hospital provided kicked into the corner, looking a bit lost. His eyes are drooping, eyebrows slightly creased, and his mouth gapes a little, like he’s trying to figure out if he should speak.
Gently, she tugs the quilt out from under him, helping him lay back and tuck his feet under the sheets. She pulls everything up to his chin and kisses his forehead.
He hums contentedly and she brushes his hair further out of the way.
“Would you like me to turn the lights out?”
Steve slowly blinks his eyes at her, fingers curling around the edge of the quilt. His answer is a soft “yes please” followed by, “don’t leave?”
It’s so small, so desperate and resigned, it breaks Claudia’s heart all over again. She steps away from the bed, flicks the switch and turns right back around to sit on the edge of the bed. She’ll get a glass of water for him later, but now she just runs her hand through his hair, petting him soothingly.
He sighs, his body losing some of the tension he’s been holding, and his eyes droop. Humming, he burrows dirtying into the blankets but whines when she moves her hand away. She returns to petting. “There, there, honey. You’ll feel better after you sleep more, alright. And you don’t need to worry about anything. I’m right here.”
He nods just slightly, smacking his lips together and pressing his forehead into her palm. “Mmm. That’s good. I wish you were my mom.”
The admission is followed by another sigh and Steve losing the battle to keep his eyes open. It strikes Claudia through the heart, all this time seeing Steve as her own, trying to make sure he doesn’t feel smothered by her need to…well. Smother. And she had rarely considered that Steve would admit to wanting or needing the kind of support and warmth she was restraining (very badly) from throwing at him.
He probably only said it because of the concussion and the various pain or antibiotic drugs the hospital had given him, but it must have been true. He has asked her to stay, and whines when she moved her hand away. Over the past months he’d gotten more and more comfortable in their house and told her more about his frequently absent and disappointed parents. Steve needed support, and steady and reliable presence he trusted. And he saw that in Claudia.
If Steve wishes she were his mother, then his mother she’ll be. She’s been that for him probably since that first night they officially met in November, a beat up boy clutching her son’s shoulder in the Byers house and assuring her he didn’t let the kids get hurt, regardless of his status of also being a kid.
She leans down and kisses his forehead again, and says “well, that’s good, because you are my son.” Even if he can’t hear it. If he wants, she’ll say it everyday until he believes it. For now, she let’s him sleep as she pets his hair gently.

I need. NEED. Y'all to understand that in a MCU captain america au Bucky and Steve would be Steve and Robin. Like. The unhinged amount of devotion? Yes. Soviet torture? Yes.
But it also MUST be understood that Steve is Bucky, and Robin is Steve. DO YOU SEE MY VISION.
Steve, charming and charasmatic, looks out for his awkward but good hearted and mildly unhinged (he's no better) bestie until he goes off to war. Robin, a bit of a weirdo, wants to do something to help fight. She ends up in an experimental program, and getting super strength etc.
She gets shipped around as propoganda. She ends up in Italy. She finds out Steve's unit has been captured. Her best friend, the only one who really knows her, the guy she's probably going to end up bearded by. Her sweet cheese.
She goes to save him.
Against all odds she does. He's strapped to a table and muttering to himself and thinks he's hallucinating when he sees her. But she saves him.
They form a strike team, blow up bases, punch Nazis etc. The war in Europe is almost over. Then Steve falls from a train. Then Robin crashes a plane. They both die heroes.
Except.
Robin wakes up. She wakes up in a world not her own and she's scared and frightened and told she has to fight again except this time she's alone.
And she does. She follows orders and fights and tries to figure out how to live when anyone who would understand her is in their eighties at the youngest or dead. How to exist in a world where the only person, even in their own time, who actually knew her, was dead. Dead for a long time. Deified alongside her by America.
So she follows orders. Until she doesn't. Until fury dies and someone with a metal arm and long brown hair shoots at her but holds their own against her enhanced strength. Pushes her, actually, being broader than her.
And she has allies, yes, but when it comes down to it, it's just her and the Soldier. Fighting under the overpass, and there's something about the Soldiers brow, the possible cowlick on his hairline where his long hair should be parted, that pings something in the back of her mind.
The mask slips off. And Robin thinks she's died again.
He doesn't recognize her, but his eyebrows scruntch together in a way she's known for what feels like eons. She's missed him.
A long time ago, longer for some than for her, he had been strapped to a table. She saved him then. She is going to save him now.
On a helicarrier, she can't bring herself to fight him. She knows him, how many hits he's taken, and even after whatever's been done to him, she knows him. Knows he's confused and scared and fighting it. Whatever's taken him away from her.
He knows her too. She can tell by the way he hesitated, pulls back. He's in there. She just has to find him.
She falls.
A strong hand pulls her out of the river.

really want a social media fic where the internet tries to decipher what the heck is going on between royjamiekeeley post s3. Like what is going on with them. Roy and Jamie's public distaste for each other becoming their funky little friendship, Keeley and Jamie being exes who are still friendly, Roy and Keeley also exes that also seem friendly, actually very close. Possible reconciliation ? but it's also like. There are pap shots where it's not clear if they're kissing or not. Between all three of them. The internet sleuthing of discovering Jamie's old Roy Kent stan account. That was also a Keeley jones thirst account (to be fair it was only thinly veiled by stan status because lbr it was a Roy Kent thirst account too.) The pictures of the three of them arm-in-arm and laughing going out and about. The wild speculation about which one of the boys Keeley is fucking without even the barest hint and thinking it could be both. Jamie making veiled references to living something even better than his teen fantasy but it's always in a tone that suggests it's not just football he's talking about with a smug grin. Roy getting caught looking fond in public far more often in the past year than he ever did in the rest of his career. Keeley deflecting questions in a way that doesn't seem like a deflection. The constant presence the other two have on each other's social media (even Roy, who posts something other than a game update or official statements etc more often, but gets into public twitter fights less). All of them so crazy about each other and so boldly in love they're honestly surprised most people haven't figured it out.
Am I going to have to write this? Am I going to have to figure out how to format tweets or whatever on ao3 for this? Fuck.

Just found out Robin and Steve's Epic Platonic Soulmate Mixtape got uploaded to Scribd without my permission 😞 just to be clear I only upload fics to Tumblr and ao3, both under the name Findafight! I'm going to try to figure out how to report it and get it taken down. I know I'm not the only stranger things fics writer who has had their fics uploaded there. It sucks! Hopefully we can report and get them taken down.

Post canon au where Otis and Marmalade are both tracking the other, and when they overlap in the same city they play a little game and pretend to be strangers meeting in bars for the first time and then have either the craziest most wild sex imaginable or the most emotionally charged love making possible.
And after, they talk about their lives but keep things vague enough there’s plausible deniability, they’re still star crossed lovers. There’s understanding that maybe they know there’s more than desire between them. Maybe they’re the only ones that truly see the other for exactly what they are. Maybe they’ll only have brief quiet moments like these in hotel rooms for years. Maybe eventually they’ll get to live together and have lives entwined in a way that doesn’t involve what is essentially consensual stalking. Maybe not.
And maybe they’ll never say it, maybe eventually it will slip out, maybe they run away together, but however it goes they both know that there’s only one word for what they feel for each other.

okay more lab kid Robin because @thesummoningdark @stobinesque asked...
I want to specify that I did not say MANY thoughts, but...
Robin being a lab kid, maybe doing the classic escape with Kali, gets separated, and ends up in a quirky little couples backyard.
Now, the Buckleys are former hippies, and maybe they're less former than they'd like the good people of Hawkins to believe them to be, but they aren't very high (just a little!)when they see a kid, maybe eight years old, wandering out of the woods. They, obviously, freak out. Adrenaline can sober them pretty quickly. They, also obviously, don't think about calling the cops right away.
They wrap them--her-- up in a blanket and get her clean clothes. Maybe a shower if she's comfortable with that. Get her set up in the spare bedroom the have a futon in to have a nice long nap, cozy and safe.
It's then they realize hey....maybe we should....call someone? But the kid was scared. Kept talking about running away from "bad men", and says her name is "nine" when asked, showing her wrist with a corresponding 009 tattoo. And the Buckleys are not one to trust authorities already, so they think. Fuck that.
They discussion options as the little girl, who will shortly become their little girl, sleeps soundly down the hall. Richard says they can say she's Melissa's second cousin's kid, and they're adopting her. Mel says they'll need to call in a lot of favours for documents. Richard says he knows a guy that owes him and he's pretty sure he moonlights as a forger.
They'll ask her how she feels about names, but they brainstorm a few. They like Robin, their free little bird, and maybe a few middle names like meadow or sunbeam. Things to remind the scared child in the guest bedroom she is no longer where bad men can hurt her.
So. Morning comes and the child that was once Nine is now Robin, and it doesn't take very long for her to reveal that she can make the sugar bowl float. It's very impressive, honestly, though the trickle of blood from her nose is concerning and Mel tells her not to strain herself. Then they learn what geniuses her little ears are, when she repeats it back to her in a perfect imitation of her voice.
So the Buckleys set some ground rules for their new daughter. They tell her that, though she is very gifted, they do not want whatever bad men were chasing her to find her, and that her talents may lead them to her. She nods, and understands. There are things to only do at home, with her mom and dad, and not tell her secrets so the bad men cannot find her.
They emphasize they are not like her papa. That they do not want to trap her here but hope that she stays. Little Robin briefly struggles to understand this, because of course they are not like Papa. Where papa was cold, the Buckleys are warm. Where Papa was angry, the Buckleys may be annoyed, but patient in explaining to her what she did wrong. Where Papa would command her to use her powers over and over and over until her throat was raw, the Buckleys only once told her she needed to use them, so she could tell someone over the phone a lie about who was talking and that she was meant to stay with them. They didn't even make her, just told her it would make things safer for her, but they would find other ways to keep her safe. So she did, and a few months later she was able to attend school.
At school she is strange, but possibly no stranger than other wierd little kids. She runs and plays and learns. She talks and asks questions and laughs, all in her own voice (even if she wishes she could let it rest sometimes, and borrow someone else's). She holds her secret for years and years. She learns three languages, her accents nearly perfect, her ears still little geniuses. Her mother nags her not to be so careless with running her mouth, her father tells her to try to go out with friends over the weekend and asks her if she remembers what the baseball score was last night (of course she does, she recounts it in the announcers voice, and watches a fond smile creep onto her mothers lips and her father huff, likely at the Cubs' score).
Then there are Soviets under the mall and she tells Steve a secret about her not even her parents know, and she's confronted with her little sister throwing a car across the foodcourt. It takes her a week after to tell Steve everything about the lab. About escaping and losing Kali and finding her parents and leaving her siblings. He holds her hand when he tells her she should tell El. (who is, somehow, more his sister than hers at this point. It is odd, but Robin isn't jealous of it, just sad.)
And then he smirks asks if she can do a Ms. Piggy impression.
and that's all i've got right now hehe
