2, 8, 14, 22 from the artist asks >:3
hi laya!! thanks for the ask >:3 [ask game]
8. What do you like most about your own work?
I like how I draw noses very much, pretty sure I always did! It's a thing I focused on a lot when I was kind of branching out/practicing with more diverse faces and stuff. I'm a simple guy, i like noses
14. How has your art changed over the years?
Definitely has become less cartoony, which is pretty expected with how my inspirations and stuff changed over the years. I think maybe one of the best examples of that was my recent ali redraw
2021 v 2025
I'd say it's definitely become more semi-realistic! Though I do occasionally still love to mess with a cartoony style now and then. havent done it a bit though.. perhaps tis time..
22. When is your prime time to work on your art?
I work best in the mornings and early afternoon! on my days off i usually draw at like 10-11am. If I have school or work I do draw at night which usually goes well too. But only around like. 8-9pm. I do sometimes get struck by the 3am inspiration but usually dont act on it </3
2. 5 favourites of your own work?
Put here so it can go under a read more. rubs my hands together like a fly
Edér my friend Edér!!!!!!!! Still really proud of this one, love the way he looks. Proud of the hair especially, looks very ruffle-able.
AND MY FRIEND VASHTI!!!!!!!!!! I like this one a lot because im still very proud of her design. my vashti..
BIT of an older piece but i still love this one dearly. My boys! Generally just proud of the pose and the intimacy of it? If that makes sense. Also Bull's horns. Proud of Bull's horns here.
Tavish absolution style babey!!!!!!!!!!!! Still proud of this one, even if I have things I'd do differently this time around. Mimicking styles is hard!! Good job past me!!!!!!!
dont think i posted this one.. but! Shadowheart x Wyll drawing that i liked muchies. I saw a clip of Duke Wyll and Selûnite Shads where they adopt a kid together canonically which is very cute to me. Had to mush them together... still a fan of the intimacy in this piece as well
#THANKS AGAIN FOR THE ASK!!!!!!!!!!#nr 2. made me realise im a big fan of most of my own art actually. be your own biggest fan everyone!!!!!#this also made me realise i miss my old firealpace brush. maybe need to find one similar in csp asset store#ty again for the ask!! <3#roscoe rambles#my art#<- technically!

So just finished basically tracing and filling in the work that @kamodofilez did to learn FireAlpaca. Think I did decently, but know that I certainly have a lot to learn and all. Going to be doing the Idol phase next. Then going to mess with the eldritch form. After I got both, then I'll try to figure out shading and opacity. If anyone have tips for FireAlpaca, let me know. Currently using the free version cause I'm poor, and using mouse to do the tracing and filling.

I am gonna send you a bunch of questions, instructions, and remarks regarding your tech issues. Please don't feel pressured to answer them.
Have you tried Updating your graphics Driver? (On WIN 10, Open search bar, Type Device Manager, then go to Display adapters, and right click your graphics card.
2. Does the problem happen anywhere or only in a specific location. (regarding the glitchy pink green grid) I mean Physical location. Like: "This only happens while I'm sitting at my desk"
3. In what way does FireAlpaca stop working. Does it crash, does it Hang(not respond to anything), Does it not respond to brush strokes on your tablet? Does the rest of your computer also stop working or slow down? Does your Mouse cursor do anything?
4. Does the Task Manager (or Equivalent, Idk your Operating system) note anything weird? (Hard drive at 100 all of the time, Memory at 100%, CPU at 100% for very long)
5. Combine 3 and 4. Have Task manager open while you're doing things in Alpaca and look at it if Alpaca starts being weird
6. From what I can tell, you have a Touch-Screen tablet that connects to your computer. (please correct me if I'm wrong) That matters because the tablet also uses your PC's OS, which means that your problems, if not hardware related, are usually your OS's or drawing program's fault.
7. If you can, Try using your drawing tablet for literally anything and everything else. Similarly, Try using Alpaca without your tablet. This way you can maybe figure out if Alpaca is being weird, or if it's the tablet.
I sat on this ask for a while in an attempt to fully test out/do all the things you mentioned. Here's my response:
1. Have you tried Updating your graphics Driver?
Yes I have! :0 I know I did this right because my super techy friend did it for me.😅 My Laptop drivers are for sure up to date.👍
2. Does the problem happen anywhere or only in a specific location. (regarding the glitchy pink green grid) I mean Physical location. Like: "This only happens while I'm sitting at my desk"
It doesn't matter where I am, the glitchy screen and the buggy FireAlpace happened anytime I tried to use them. Though I will note that after buying a new chord for my tablet, the pink and green glitches and weird black outs completely stopped. But FireAlpaca continues to bug out every few minutes. :(
3. In what way does FireAlpaca stop working. Does it crash, does it Hang(not respond to anything), Does it not respond to brush strokes on your tablet? Does the rest of your computer also stop working or slow down? Does your Mouse cursor do anything?
I am not great with my words so I took a video of FireAlpaca bugging out to show you. (I apologize for the low quality.. I shrunk it down so I could send it to a friend on Discord but now I cannot find the original video for the life of me😔)
In this gif I am selecting all these different tools, but they're all acting like the pen tool. Which was the tool I was using before it started to bug out. I forgot to clip it but the undo/redo button is also broken.
4. Does the Task Manager (or Equivalent, Idk your Operating system) note anything weird? (Hard drive at 100 all of the time, Memory at 100%, CPU at 100% for very long)
I have checked Task Manager when FireAlpaca was and was not bugging out. Everything seemed to act the same each time.. <:(
5. Combine 3 and 4. Have Task manager open while you're doing things in Alpaca and look at it if Alpaca starts being weird
Have tried this and I didn't notice any change when FireAlpaca started tweaking. :(
6. From what I can tell, you have a Touch-Screen tablet that connects to your computer. (please correct me if I'm wrong) That matters because the tablet also uses your PC's OS, which means that your problems, if not hardware related, are usually your OS's or drawing program's fault.
My drawing tablet is an XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro. Its not a touch screen but it has a drawing stylus. It's basically another monitor that I can use a stylus with. :0
I don't know if that means its using my laptops OS.. nor do I know how to fix it if my problem lies in that connection <:((
7. If you can, Try using your drawing tablet for literally anything and everything else. Similarly, Try using Alpaca without your tablet. This way you can maybe figure out if Alpaca is being weird, or if it's the tablet.
My tablet seems to work fine outside of FireAlpaca..? I think..?
But what I have tried is when FireAlpaca is bugging out I would move the window to my laptop monitor and try to use the paint tools with the mouse. The first few times I did this the problem fixed itself when I opened snipping tool to record it.
So I then set snipping tool to record my laptop screen, drew with my tablet until it bugged out again.. and then moved FireAlpaca to my laptop and kept drawing with a mouse. This is the result.
It broke the way it did before. Selecting multiple tools and either drawing nothing or only using the tool I was already using. The undo/redo buttons still do not work.
The only way to fix this problem is to save my canvas, close FireAlpaca and then reopen it. Sometimes clicking out of FireAlpaca and back into it fixes it..? But not always.
Anyways, I did my best to answer these as best I can. With my tablet drivers being up to date..(??) My laptop drivers being up to date and FireAlpaca being the latest version,, I'm not sure what could be causing my problems :((

ALRIGHT, so, I have this work file I started on FireAlpace on 1st March 2023! Almost two years ago, and then I happened to abandon it anyway for whatever I felt around that time. And then since I had finished the very recent Sari Sumdac I uploaded the other day, I thought that it would be a nice chance to finish this old WIP piece. And then I finished it! I don't know what I had felt earlier that I need to finish this, other than, probably, a voice that was telling me "hey, finish this piece", and then I finished it anyway.
Again, for DJW.

Our pokesona/pokemon singletsona, Meteor. We don't draw him as much as we should, for all the thought we put into his design so he'd reflect a lot of our system... But I made up for that a little bit today.
Please do not use our art without our permission. Feel free to ask to use for icons and similar things, but we have the right to say no.

How do you art, and where do you art?
hi my name is moe! i've doing digital 2d art since about 2017 and here's a big post about the how and where of it!
the program i use for my 2d art is firealpaca! the version i use is free to download with the exception of a popup ad that shows up when you start up the program! it's a great, very consistent, program that has updated a lot and improved since i started and i don't think i can vouch for it more. everything i include in this post applies to firealpaca specifically though you can probably do similar things in other programs im a college student on a budget and im very comfortable working with this program.
the three main brushes i use i got off firealpaca's brush marketplace! they're all free crayon brushes the first one hard one being the one i use for lineart, the second sort brush i use for sketching, and the third hard one i use for coloring. i think this might be the reason why i get some stuff about people associating my art with childhood/ children's illustrations, im a big fan of using texture where i can and these help to add a lot of visual interest.
seawatt jumpscare
you may see that my finish pieces don't have a lot of flat colors if you zoom all the way in. that's because i use a lot of noise to make the colors look less flat. it sort of reminds me of construction paper, gives a little bit of a fuzziness to it.
i have it set to color at usually around 50. i turn it down sometimes if im working on something smaller. my canvas sizes usually are about 1500 x 1500 just to keep a more consistent square shape across most of my drawings.
another thing i do to make my art pop is i duplicate my lineart layer, use protect alpha to color the duplicated layer another color that's usually brigther than the original layer, put some gaussian blur on it and add multiply or add to the blending on that layer.
with versus without the added layer! i have this set to add on 31% opacity and ill add more or less if i want the effect to be more or less subtle. it's not very noticable but i think it helps a lot with line clarity and can make something almost glow if you wanted that effect.
here's another example with a multiply layer (i turned up the opacity to give a better example) subtle and it fights a lot with tumblr image degradation but it makes me happy.
i also make a lot of use of halftoning as you can see in the examples above. I usually only use it to make shadows darker and highlights stand out but they're also really good at filling up dead space like backgrounds to make them more visually appealing
with versus without halftoning! in firealpace you achieve this by using a 8-bit layer (one highlighted) once you add the layer hit the gear icon by the layer and use that to modify the halftoning to your choosing
i usually have mine with a density of 40 but you can tweak it to your choosing. you can also change the blending type on these types of layers i usually just use multiply/ add and occasionally overlay. mess around with the opacity! make it more or less subtle! have fun!
halftoning is tricky to use in firealpaca however due to the way it works. usually i apply it with my soft crayon brush since it hangs around 35% opacity. you can get a more dense halftoning using more or less opacity on your brush and can go back and forth over the halftoning to layer more on. you can also layer two different layers of halftoning to create interesting effects
two different halftoning layers laid on top of each other ^
more opacity + two different halftoning layers laid on top of each other ^
when you go to combine all your layers however because 8bit layers when combined with regular layers lose their halftoning properties. my way around this when combining everything is going layer > merge all when going to finish up and convert everything to png.
that, for the most part is all the technical stuff. i wish i could tell you how i knew what colors to pick but for me i usually pick some variation of green and just go with it. i usually pick the lineart color with my background colors in my mind and go from there until i get bored. complimentary colors such as blue/ orange and red/ green are usually good picks.
did you notice the background/ lineart is green in this picture? that's because the red cancels it out. i sneak it in there sometimes C:
that's pretty much the how of it all, as for the where, usually my bed
that's all

Sorry if you’ve been asked this already but what do u draw on and what brush do you use?
I draw on FireAlpace (an old ass version), usin the paint brush (like the feathery one), on a the cheapest wacom tablet I could find in 2016, on the worlds most destroyed yet somehow functioning hand-me-down laptop.

HOLY SHIT MAHITO LOOKS SO COOL IN THAT STYLE!!!!
Thank you! I'm really liking this brush because I feel like I can be super messy with it, similar to my (true) pencil brush allowing me to sketch things really easily compared to my other pencil or pen brushes in firealpace!
It also helps that I just wanted to draw Mahito making a crazy face lol
