So I have something to say regarding my loveliest Warlock, Maximus-12.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, his typical and usual fashion is his Vanguard outfit as above, his work attire as you can say. That's also his Void fit.
And so when I did Vow of the Disciple with some of my servermates, I could just think of how Max's fellow Guardians going to fight through the Sunken Pyramid, to fight Rhulk, are all fashionable! And cool! And amazing!
And he's just there wearing his standard Vanguard attire, as if he was reporting for duty. Or as if it was business-as-usual, a job to be done well. Or maybe it was beyond Vanguard parameters and yet he still went to fight as it was his work to do.
Maybe it wasn't exactly the most fashionable attire, but he did look dapper through simplicity.

here’s my little guy;
Tumblr media
Risk-9 is an Exo Solar/Strand Warlock and an absolute fucking menace to everyone around them on purpose, they’ve got an ongoing fic i’m (slowly) writing documenting how they were risen on the shores of ancient destroyed Brazil, and before they could go to the Tower they were picked up by a group of Eliksni and adopted into their little House :)
Risk is an oc completely based on me and my stupid style of play, so they’re a chaotic little shit who dies a lot and gets into trouble very often. considering they’re practically immortal, they use that to do stupid shit without consequences such as touching the incredibly dangerous and volatile energy source, diving head first into an ogre hoping to kill it first, and riding on top of another guardian’s sparrow trying to shoot while not falling off.
tiny details;
Their Ghost is named Styx, and he’s an anxious mf who yells at Risk not to do things and then goes “i told you so”
Their favorite gun mod is vorpal weapon, since they found a seventh seraph revolver with it and painted it hot pink (and then added a bunch of jingly charms and stickers to the handle)
I chose the female model in game because it looks better imo but Risk has a transmasculine body with built-in scars on their chest that glow like their eyes and mouth :)
despite me personally being awful at crucible i made risk an absolute boss at it bcs i wanted to
they’re 5’2 (but never ask they will kill you)
They’re like a hunter in a warlock’s body (and if they ever meet Cayde he would be very upset they’re a warlock)
spoilers for the fic but;
after a long string of events culminating in them becoming an Eliksni Captain, and then taking the place of the Kell after she was killed, Risk-kell was approached by Ikora and refused to join the tower, so they settled for making peace negotiations between the guardians and their house, but some incredibly unfortunate timing meant they were away from their crashed ketch when a horde of hive (or taken i havent decided) overwhelmed their house and destroyed everything and everyone inside. With nowhere left to go they finally entered the tower and had a week long depression nap before another of my destiny oc’s, Meredith, smashed down their door and dragged them outside and introduced them to the crucible, and that’s how Risk became part of fireteam System.32
here’s some more images (i need to draw them and their fireteam more);

I like the idea of Destiny Guardians having innate knowledge that supercedes them being resurrected as Guardians. They just know shit.
Solar Hunter with cowboy hat and Celestial Nighthawk that as far as they know, has never stepped foot in Asia to see either its fauna or flora, somehow knows that in dire situations, you can get clean drinking water from inside of live bamboo.
Void Titan spends years perfecting his artistic skills with pen and paper to be able to accurately represent to his increasingly sceptical mentor that yes, he remembers the existence of dogs with squashed faces very clearly and yes, they were OK like that, sort of.
A freshly resurrected Arc Warlock's Ghost is very concerned that when she casted her very first Super, a Chaos Reach, she could only do so after a fairly lengthy incantation of sorts. Though he was even more concerned that upon arriving at the Tower, she found other Warlocks who were exactly the same, though none of them could remember where they learnt about the incantation. They quickly formed a Fireteam together; Fireteam Kamehameha.
Guardians that remember stuff.

OC Bio: "Blank".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but by no means least, we have Blank. I forget when i came up with her, but she's grown into one of my favourites, creepy little cryptid that she is. She's grown into more than a bit of the good ol' chestnut of the tragic monster, but this first post is VERY much focusing on the monster bit. The first bit of the monster bit, anyway~ ;3
Name: Unknown.
Nickname(s): Blank.
Pronouns: She/her.
Ghost's name: Entelechus[1].
Ghost's pronouns: It/its.
First resurrected: The Collapse.
BIO IS THUS:
Blank is old. Very very old.
Resurrected by her Ghost before the dust from the Collapse had even begun to settle, from the beginning it was clear something was a little... off about her. Not necessarily wrong, just... off. She started her new life as she meant to go on, as a black-veiled loner with a long rifle. She spent the first few years of the Dark Ages seldom seen outside of a scope glint, skulking about picking off other Risen from miles beyond their range. Whether she was paid to or just did so on her own whim isn't clear, but it garnered her a reputation as a peerless marksman, and with that, a price on her head that kept growing and growing with each kill.
The last time Blank was seen in the Dark Ages at all was in Old Chicago. Roaring through the ruined swamp of a city on a Fallen Pike, Blank pursued by a trio of Risen raining bullets around her. Crashing her Pike through a wall into a derelict offworld transit station, she landed clean headshots on her pursuers before jacking an aged Jumpship left on a launchpad and soaring off into the sky, her deeds fading into history.
No-one knows what happened to her out in the big black, in the centuries she was away. No-one except her and her Ghost, anyway.
Whatever did happen, when Blank reappeared on Earth it was obvious her years out in the void had had a substantial effect on her:
Her rather short physique had lengthened considerably, almost like she was stretched into an unnatural shape, her spindly limbs seemingly too long for her body. She'd always moved gracefully, but now even more so with a bizarre cadence akin to a dancer, unsettlingly flowing, smooth and precise[2].
Her limbs weren't the only parts of her changed mind. Jutting out of her worn vest was what could only be described as a mouth. A maw full of metal teeth constantly gnashing at the air, spitting drops of blood constantly that stained her armour. Some swore it even growled at times. Her black veil remained, now masking a rasping wheezing breath.
Her Ghost was mostly unharmed, save for the small branch of silvery glittering wood lodged in its shell.
Blank's reappearence on Earth coincided with the initiation of the Great Ahamkara Hunt, and she signed up post-haste. Assigned to a fireteam, Blank took distressing amounts of glee in killing the Wish-Dragons the fireteam hunted in horrifically torturous manners, ripping them apart while they still lived, harvesting their bones and feeding their flesh to the maw in her chest as the dragons bled out. Over and over again she brutalised her prey with no regard to the safety of herself or her fireteam.
Her killings got so violent that her fellow fireteam members actively tried to intervene and ask her to stop. She did not. If anything she got worse. It got to such a point where her nominal allies were hunting her instead, partly out of horror & disgust at her actions, partly out of fear that after the Ahamkara, they might be next.
Thankfully, it never got to that point. At the height of the Hunt and her reign of terror, Blank disappeared without a trace. Some assumed her dead or wished into non-existance. Where she actually went, only she & her Ghost know.
After her disappearence and the subsequent end of the Hunt, her deeds faded into hearsay over the decades once again. More than a few Guardians have groaned and rolled their eyes whenever a drinking buddy cracked out the same old story about "The Hunter Whose Heart Ate Dragons". She became a bogeyman, a horror story. A myth.
And then, once upon a time in a tumultuous Reef, she reappeared once more...
FOOTNOTES:
[1] I named it that before the TFS collectors edition was announced, okay? They nicked the Aristotelian reference from me as far as i'm concerned :P /j
[2] this was inspired by remembering the Dancer of the Boreal Valley existed and ohhhhhhh my god. Would.
Ahhhhh, and with that, i have all 7 bios started. Peachy.
I bloody love Blank, i love where i've taken Blank in my deets, she's one of those characters i just *like*. Tho as a dyed-in-the-wool monsterfucker i'm not exactly surprised.
With this done, i'm gonna start writing up extra parts for everyone's bios, so keep an eye out for those! I might also start posting little bits and pieces under the OCs respective tags, not sure about that one yet. We'll see <3.
Thanks for reading!

Another Glaive love rant! This time we're going with probably one of the most fun looking Glaives (and yet, not the funniest), the one and only Vexcalibur!! I used this one so much during Echoes.
Tumblr media
This Glaive is another of my favourites. An Exotic Void Glaive obtained by completing the node.ovrd.AVALON mission, where you retrieve it from the person stuck in the lake. ...does this mean I'm the King of the EDZ now or something...?
Anyway! With a fun name, fun style and fun ornaments you quite literally can't go wrong. Well, unless you stick yourself with the Glaive ;)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I mean come on look at these. Lovely. Perfectly created. It's base form is stunning too like idk about you but the blue?? So pretty. But ornament wise I use the second one myself (Galatine Protocol). There's just something about it. Maybe the gold detailing on the darker blade? How it shines just right in the light of the Vault of Glass? Or maybe the way it looks when it gains extra damage against...a certain faction...
Oop, excuse me. Not gonna start getting into that or I won't stop.
Anyway! More about this beauty of a well shaped weapon (haha! Get it? Because you can repeat the AVALON quest to get some extra intrinsics). It comes with some very fun perks that work very well with a style of just getting in there, and staying in there.
Its ability, the M1R Distribution Matrix, allows you to obtain an overshield. And not just for yourself, but for your allies too!! I've run through Vespers with this weapon many times and during the second boss fight it's come in so handy since my Fireteam keeps getting blown up by shanks. But not me! I have Vexcalibur on my side!
And of course, it's got a great trait Perpetual Loophole to go with the Matrix, which is cool as hell since while shielded you not only do extra damage, but you ALSO refresh that overshield every time you melee kill, so you know, just smash those ads like you would an avocado and you've got shielding that won't go away immediately. This is pretty useful if your build doesn't grant you an overshield. I mean it's useful regardless, but in THIS case it's EXTRA useful.
No talking about the traits too much on this one, since it's very much like last post, but no matter if you're in PvP or PvE (again, I say either go BallistTuning/Swap/Lightweight/Light), however, you'll want the fully upgraded intrinsic (it gives you the most benefit - aka, letting you actually mess around with the weapon crafting).
I think of the Refits (obtained by Expert-level Avalon), the Grave Robber one is pretty nice. That'll reload Vexcalibur for you while you're swinging that thang, but any of the Refits are quite nice really. I'm not as much a fan of Immovable, but that's because I like to roam around.
Thanks for reading!
And as parting words, there is only this:
“The lady of the lake,” said Merlin; “for upon this lake there is a rock, and on the rock a noble palace, where she abideth, and she will come towards thee presently, thou shalt ask her courteously for the sword.”
Therewith the damsel came to King Arthur, and saluted him, and he saluted her, and said, “Lady, what sword is that the arm holdeth above the water? I would that it were mine, for I have no sword.”
“Sir King,” said the lady of the lake, “that sword is mine, and if thou wilt give me in return a gift whenever I shall ask it of thee, thou shalt have it.”
“By my faith,” said he, “I will give thee any gift that thou shalt ask.”

rip gambit you will be missed 😔
Tumblr media
Don't even know what to say tbh.
For those that don't know, the big State of the Game article came out detailing incoming changes and adjustments and all the big stuff. Gambit was mentioned! But at what cost. Basically, they are ceasing any kind of support for Gambit. What we have now is what it is. We will get the Dreaming City map back in TFS and they will add Shadow Legion and Lucent Hive as enemy factions in TFS. That's all.
Full text:
As many of you have noticed, we’ve been quiet on Gambit since last year’s overhaul that launched alongside The Witch Queen. In that revamp, the team made significant changes across five categories in Gambit: core activity fundamentals, Primeval tuning, invasions, ammo economy, and rewards. Unfortunately, these updates didn’t move the needle for player engagement. Although we know our Gambit fans mostly care about new or returning maps, this is an area of the game with lower engagement that would take resources away from more popular parts of the game to shore up.   While we don’t have plans to dedicate more resources to significantly transform Gambit, we do have a few updates planned for the year of The Final Shape. These include porting the Cathedral of Scars map and its beautiful Dreaming City setting into the latest version of Destiny 2, as well as adding the Shadow Legion and Lucent Hive enemy types.
I don't know how to tell you this Bungie, but the reason "engagement is low" in Gambit is because Gambit sucks. Ever since half of it was removed with DCV, it just sucked. It has no variety, the gameplay is largely busted, it's not sufficiently updated, ammo changes suck, invasion cycle sucks (why is the enemy even getting a portal when their Primeval is at 5% health and the other team is still in mote collecting phase is beyond me), there are no cool armour sets to chase (just look at Iron Banner and Trials stuff, imagine dedicated cosmetics) and finally there are simply no weapons that are worth anything. Both Vanguard and Crucible have more weapons and also adept versions. There is zero reason to go into Gambit without major changes to Gambit. And now with the further changes to how playlists and challenges will work, there will be even less reason to go into Gambit. Observe:
Before then, we’re making Gambit entirely optional to maximize your rewards unless you’re looking for a piece of gear that’s specific to the mode. Gambit will continue to serve as a source of Exotic engrams via weekly challenges, though as we mentioned above, you’ll be able to complete all your weekly challenges in any ritual you’d like starting in Season 22. If you want to stick to Vanguard or Crucible challenges without touching Gambit, now you can.  We’re also reducing the number of Gambit-specific Seasonal Challenges starting in Season 22, so players won’t need to bank motes to be able to earn that big purse of Bright Dust for completing nearly every challenge in the Season. Finally, we’re adding Fireteam Matchmaking to Gambit next Season, which will replace the Freelance node and should result in faster, better matchmaking by combining both Gambit playlists. We’ll keep an eye on reception and player engagement after these additions take place, and we hope you’ll visit ‘ol Drifter next Season to get your hands on his new Void Machine Gun.
Ngl, but I don't think anyone besides like a total of 6 people will play Gambit next season. The incentive to go in there is completely removed. You won't even have to go in there for pinnacles or for challenges. The Void Machine Gun will not be enough of an incentive because the chance of that gun being better than two recently available craftable Void Machine Guns (Commemoration and Retrofit Escapade) is very low. And besides, once you get it at the end of your first match, you can leave Gambit forever.
This is the feedback loop that just reinforces the idea that people don't like Gambit. And I mean. Who would at this point. I'm pretty sure that if Crucible had stayed the same as it was at the start of Beyond Light, engagement would be low there too. But you know. Crucible has received major updates pretty much every season since with multiple new modes, several Trials overhauls, Iron Banner overhaul, competitive overhaul, new armours and weapons added and YES, even new maps. God forbid even 5% of these resources went into Gambit.
Anyway, this is the whole section about Gambit in 6500 words. It's basically a "you guys aren't playing this so we're doing the bare minimum of keeping it in the game as is, no new work will be done on it ever." Thanks I guess.
And for the record, something I also added while having a rant in my discord, I want to make it clear that I don't want anyone to spiral into a Bungie hate train. Even for this. I understand perfectly well what's the community attitude towards Gambit and what it's been for years now. People just don't like it and they're not incentivised to like it and they're actively encouraged to hate it. Spending resources into a game mode on the hope that maybe you can change people's minds would be insanity. Like, the amount of change Gambit would need to MAYBE start appealing to gamers would be beyond any reasonable time and resources Bungie can put in. And if you could guarantee that people would love and play Gambit then, fine. But you can't. Most likely, even if major changes happened, people would still just do their weekly stuff and bail. It's simply not worth it. In order for people to like it, it needs to be completely and thoroughly overhauled in a way that would need more time and effort than the entire Light subclass overhaul and it's just not a reasonable expectation, nor is it guaranteed to work. So I get it.
I'm still disappointed and annoyed about it because I believe it wasn't given a fair chance at all. I also know how good it can be and how Gambit Prime could've been improved upon over the years if they tried. Instead, it got removed and that was honestly the death sentence for Gambit. It's unfortunate. It's my favourite game mode that could've been so much better was it given even a fraction of attention of Crucible.
I'll still be playing it. You will find me in the Gambit queue waiting for 2 hours to find 7 other lunatics to play with, don't worry about it. But I'm absolutely incredibly sad about them being basically forced to axe the potential of the whole game mode that is incredibly creative and fits with the type of game Destiny is perfectly.
There's other interesting stuff in the article and some upcoming really cool improvements and changes to the game. But if you're a fan of Gambit in any capacity, this is a death certificate for the mode. I suggest coming to terms with it quickly because Bungie changing their minds about this is highly unlikely.

People (especially civilians) tend to think that RZ isn't dangerous just because he isn't violent, aggressive, or a stereotypical Guardian. I can promise you he is in fact dangerous when he needs to be, is recognized as one of the most proficient Void Hunters since Tevis Larsen, and has assisted multiple famous fireteams including the ones that took down Oryx, Riven, and the Witness.
[Ori] Are you telling people this because he stole pancakes from you twice this morning? And pickpocketed your granola bars?
...No.

Eh, might as well do a post on my Guardians, in case anyone's interested. Prepare for a Long Read.
Zenith-5:
Tumblr media
(You will never see his face)
Risen at night somewhere in a desert, Zenith is a Nightstalker, and a very dangerous one at that, as his connection to the Void is incredibly strong. He doesn't talk, not because he can't but because he doesn't like to--it takes too long and feels taxing. The most you'll get out of him is a quiet grunt or, if on a mission where communication is necessary, short stinted answers that convey exactly what needs to be said.
Because of his stoic personality, he comes across as cold, calculating, uncaring, and even murderous. Despite this, he's a great teammate and will never leave a member of his fireteam behind. People are often glad they chose to trust him.
While he doesn't like socializing with people, he has a deep appreciation and love for nature. He regularly meditates deep in the Wilds and has a pet War Beast named Fenrir, who is forever loyal to him. If you ever discover him while he's meditating, which you won't because he makes it a point not to be found, you'll find him surrounded by wildlife, as animals feel protected around him.
His main weapon of choice is Quickfang, which he can split into Spectral Blades if he's not using Shadowshot. He utilizes invisibility on a constant basis to avoid being found.
His Ghost's name is Zephyr and she's the complete opposite of him. She's very talkative, outgoing and cheerful; the equivalent of a ray of sunshine, and her shell matches her personality. From a distance, she appears as a small, dazzling, diamond that sparkles brilliantly in the sun.
She and Zenith share a psionic connection and communicate through their thoughts, hence why Zenith doesn't like to physically speak. If you want to talk to him, you'll more than likely be speaking to Zephyr.
She views Zenith as her Son™ and will defend him no matter what. He is her Guardian.
-------------------------
Lazarus:
Tumblr media
Lazarus was risen on the mountain underneath the Traveler's shard sometime within the last 10 years.
He's a friendly individual, but he’s shy and probably the biggest pushover you'll ever meet. He doesn't speak up for himself and will often sit on the sidelines, doing whatever his Ghost tells him to do. He's a sad and lonely puppy, but he won't reach out to anyone, both because he's afraid to and because Ire won't let him.
As a New Light, he had trouble harnessing the Light for a very long time and the stormy relationship with his Ghost, Ire, made it even harder. It wasn't until he was struck by lightning from the Traveler's shard while he was visiting his place of resurrection that he was able to successfully activate and use Arc.
Since then, he's become an amazing Arcstrider, Gunslinger, and Revenant. He's also excellent with a Skimmer; he was a snowboarder in his previous life and that skill followed him into his Guardian life.
Ire is as bossy as they come and he's one of the very few Ghosts who don't like their Guardian. In fact, Ire hates Lazarus because he isn't anything like Ire hoped he'd be. He wanted a strong Guardian that could handle whatever was thrown at them, not...whatever this sopping wet pup of a human is.
He has contemplated leaving Lazarus altogether to search for someone new because Traveler help him, he cannot believe a Guardian would be as scared of death as this brat is.
Because of his disdain, Ire pushes Lazarus to train hard all day every day, sometimes to the point that he faints from exhaustion, all in the hopes that he can turn into something great. But, Ire is so blinded by his own anger that he doesn't even realize that Lazarus is already an incredible Guardian. (Feel free to smack the shit out of him if you want, Traveler knows I fuckin' would.)
-------------
Derecho-2:
If there were a person that could personify the word "himbo," Derecho is it.
He was risen in one of Clovis Bray's labs on Europa during the battle of Twilight Gap and he made his way to Earth to help after his Ghost urged him on. Despite being a newly risen Guardian, Derecho harnessed his Solar Light and joined in the fray.
He's a Sunbreaker Titan Exo and an excellent strategist. Some people always seem taken aback by his intelligence because they associate Titans with stupidity, but he’ll forgive them for it.
Alongside that, he just so happens to be the biggest flirt among the Crucible jocks. He's not above promiscuity and loves to have fun with everyone. But, even though he sleeps around a lot, he genuinely likes and cares for all of his partners--they're not objects to him. If they want to be exclusive with him, all they have to do is say the word and he’s theirs.
You'll know he's definitely interested in you if he starts calling you cutesy names in Spanish. And he’ll straight up tell you.
Besides being flirty, Derecho is also a very warm and caring person, willing to help you with anything at all. If you need a place to stay, you can have his bed--or share it, if that's what you'd prefer~
Out in the field, this Titan is a fiery force to be reckoned with. While his name points to him being an Arc user, he calls himself a Solar Storm. He loves creating fire tornados and throwing his huge hammer around. He’s a helpful teammate and will get you out of any situation.
Derecho's warmth is complimented by his Ghost, Cielo's, cooler personality.
Cielo is a little more of an introvert and prefers to stay in his Guardian's apartment watching crime dramas, cartoons, or talk shows. Whenever he does venture out with Derecho, he tends to just...not speak unless spoken to.
————————-
Apache(his name could change at some point):
Apache is a quiet Awoken Shadebinder Warlock that was risen somewhere in the Reef. After making his way to Earth, he discovered that he enjoyed running the Crucible and settled in with Derecho’s crew of Crucible jocks. He ended up dating a Titan named Chinook, but the two didn’t last very long and decided to stay friends.
When he’s not in the Crucible, Apache is out in the City enjoying a cup of tea and reading ancient poetry or plays from the Golden Age.
As mentioned, he’s quiet but not silent. While he prefers to be given orders, he’s not below giving them if the situation calls for it. Afterall, even Derecho needs help reeling in Chinook every now and again. He’s very much a “do no harm but take no shit” kind of person.
As a Shadebinder, he takes control of a battlefield fairly easily and even utilizes Stasis in his every day life; children love it when he creates an ice rink for them to skate on, but his enemies hate it when their entire world is consumed by negentropic ice.
His Ghost, Autumn, is a soft little thing who prefers the arts. She even tries to paint and draw with a brush she had Apache modify so it magnetizes to her shell. She knows she's not the best, but she tries and really enjoys the process of creating.
Autumn gets along with most everyone…except for Bullet Storm, Chinook’s Ghost.
——————
Chinook:
The most boisterous, loudmouth, snarky and crybaby Berserker Titan to ever come into existence.
If you think you’re better than him, no you’re not. If you think you’ve won against him, no you haven’t. If you’re a Hunter, he already heavily dislikes you; he thinks Hunters are pretentious little pricks that deserve to get their asses handed to them whenever possible. Warlocks are on that list, too, but not nearly as high as Hunters.
Chinook is very short-fused, impatient, hardheaded, and not really open to mindset changes, as he thrives on anger which is true only to his subclass name. If he loses in any situation, he will bitch and moan about it for hours, possibly days, if he isn’t distracted.
He only has three friends—Derecho, Apache, and his Ghost—and even they have a hard time getting along with him sometimes. Well, except for his Ghost.
As a Strand user, he thoroughly enjoys unraveling the very existence of his enemies and that joy can extend to other Guardians. He uses his arm blades to slice and dice his way to victory, uncaring about who he has to mow down to achieve it. No matter who you are, he will gloat and showboat in front of you—and yes, that includes The Witness. He called it a “fake-ass vape bitch” to it’s face.
His Ghost, Bullet Storm, is no better. The two are one and the same and Bullet Storm encourages his Guardian to go all out, cheering for him even when Chinook is clearly losing, which happens more often than either of them will ever admit.
While Bullet Storm is less angry than Chinook, he’s still just as snarky and hardheaded. You’ll catch them doing fistbumps after every little thing.
Bullet Storm has a giant middle finger as his projection, so it’s very easy to spot him.

This was going to be a one time thing but it’s two parts after realizing how long this post would be.
I’m introducing half of my Destiny Guardian OC’s: Lithium, Ayaan, and Palani-8.
The story starts with the leader of this not-yet-named Fireteam: Lithium. [He/Him/His, Titan, Void predominate, Earthborn Awoken, African presenting, early 30’s IRL, late 100’s when resurrected, full head of short, wavy, dark at the roots, fading to bluish white ends hair, lowly glowing orange irises.] Sent by Zavala sometime before the base game of Destiny 1, Lithium was assigned to do battle against the House of Kings fallen.
Lithium wouldn’t be alone on this mission of course; the Vanguard had hand chosen other Guardians to accompany him. He’s introduced to Ayaan [They/Them/Theirs, Warlock, Arc/Solar/Void predominant, Middle Eastern presenting Human, late 20’s IRL, late 20’s when resurrected, short/middle length wavy hair, brown eyes.] and Palani-8 [He/Him/His, Titan, Arc predominant, Exo, late 20’s IRL, mid 100’s when resurrected, detailed face I can’t describe but has a bold orange on half of face and low yellow glowing innards.]
Along with eliminating threats, the Vanguard hopes the trio grow with help of each other. Lithium very quickly realizes that he has his work cut out for him. Ayaan gives everyone nothing but above-it-all attitude and insists that the Titans aren’t needed on the mission when they themselves have been called for it. Palani had been fussing about being called to the mission in the first place, rather wanting to make new friends at any party he could attend in the city and beyond. Lithium doesn’t know the first thing about leading a Fireteam and lacks self belief. It comes to a head when the team’s bickering gets them discovered while hiding out in Fallen territory.
Palani’s body crumbles after his head is shot through by a powerful bolt of arc energy and Lithium and Ayaan spring to action. After a while of fighting against the Fallen and Lithium both, Ayaan lets Lithium take the lead and their growing synergy becomes apparent as they begin to push back the Fallen, especially when Palani returns, enveloped in blinding, ferocious Arc Light. The trio stand together and effortlessly picks out the Fallen Kings Archon from their ranks and takes them down. They return to the tower as there’s a silent understanding shared between them. They land, nod, and split.
Coming back from his weekend reprieve, he checks his mission assignments. He doesn’t roll his eyes like he thought he might have when he sees two familiar names assigned by the Vanguard. When he meets meets his Fireteam again, Ayaan is the tiniest bit less mouthy (that’s really not saying much though) and Palani greets them warmly, surprisingly antsy about getting a move on to their mission. This happens again and again, one mission after another. At a point Lithium can’t remember, seeing these two Guardians became his new normal and he didn’t mind it at all.
The hunter pack will be introduced in the next post about OC’s.

Talents
"Do they awaken knowing how to use their Light?"
"Kiiiiind of? Most wake up with some awareness of it, all of them are naturally stronger and faster than normal humans, but things like Freija's accidental barricade are unusual. From what I heard, before I found Freija, what I expected, was a slow growth from finding her Light and growing it into something she could learn to manipulate. That's what I understood to be normal."
"You sound annoyed. You are normally quite proud of this."
"Oh I'm proud. It really does just irritate me. And it goes back to something you said, where she's strong enough to get into real trouble before it catches up to her. She woke up knowing her barricade, she woke up knowing her grenades and her sunspots. I did have to teach her the hammer, she preferred keeping it in her fists. She still does."
"So your understanding of the typical experience was that a Guardian would begin with… you may use your Freija as an example. What did you expect her to do?"
"Well. Going by what she does now, I expected something like… oh, her thing where she heats up, I expected that to be where it started. And then I figured maybe her fiery punch, because that makes sense, to collect into your hands and push it into something else. I did expect the hammer to be hard, she did struggle with that like I expected, but her grenades only took a day to learn and two to master. And three to pick her favorite one. She's never used anything else."
"I believe I have borne witness. Waves of fire will burst forth over a short time. She frequently throws it at her feet as she leaps away. I have seen many burn at her touch. How do you believe it would manifest in others? The void and arc?"
"Oh, things like, causing sparks to jump or minor shocks for arc that grows into a thrown bolt that grows into a ball lightning. Void would probably start with…. I don't know. I'll have to ask someone else. I think Three? Our Hunter roommate."
"For some reason, I assumed you would board with your fireteam."
"Sometimes. Usually, in fact. But there's also a lot of cases where the Guardians will start with their fireteam and filter off or fight and split up, or will be a pair with a third assigned to theirs. Thomas had his first, Three got assigned to it, and he's apparently had third singles come and go over the years as they join found fireteams.
"There's also at least a few barracks that are occupied in name only, marked as belonging to people who are never there, are MIA, and a couple that got turned into shrines for the dead. Though at one point, there were so many of those that they had to create a memorial and open them back up."
"Interesting. I had not previously considered the living situation."
"General communal living space, pods with apartments in the barracks inside the walls. The lowest floors…. I'll have to show you at some point, a layout."
"Hmph."
"We've got a kitchen in ours, and a wash room. The kitchen is Thomas's work, half scrap and half cryptarch commissions. The washroom has a shower in it, but he said he had to get a few permits to put it and the water heater in. Freija's been tinkering with the kitchen little by little."
"Hmph. Do they use their Light in small ways around their homes? I have always wondered."
"Sometimes. Freija's learning how to use her hand as a burner as a way to focus her energy when she can't focus her mind. Thomas struggles with his Light, so he doesn't. I've seen more than a few people spot-weld, pull things from across the room. Things like that."
"Interesting."

Yvette
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Yvette Nickname: Mum, Hunter Mum, Old Lady (by Cayde and the very brave) Specialization/Class: Hunter, Void bow subclass, Strand later on Age: She has been around as long as Saladin has.  The “Dark Age” when Guardians were first revived Quirks: She takes the new Hunters that arrive under her wing, making sure they get a good start in their lives as Guardians.  Yvette is officially “retired” but can be convinced to go along with some shenanigans if the situation calls for it. History: Yvette was revived on a small island in the Pacific Ocean (specifically the island of Oahu) and was dragged against her will to join Saladin’s fight against the Warlords.  She has not stopped bitching about the cold ever since. Family: Aine and Saladin are her two oldest friends, and Aine is like a sister to her.  Fireteam Siren, Crow, Nevia, the current Vanguard, and all new Hunters are considered her children.  She will not hesitate to wade through chaos to get to the troublemakers if they are one of her kids.  Also Kura and Ajun are her children with little Ciana as her honorary granddaughter.  Yvette proudly accepts the name Nana that Ciana calls her, despite still looking in her 20s. Extras: Yvette spends the Festival of the Lost remembering Andal Brask and Jaren Ward.  Two of her closest friends and once lovers before they died.  She was once joined by Shiro and Cayde, but now she holds the vigil by herself as Shiro doesn’t come to the Tower anymore.  She burns a candle for Cayde as well, knowing he’d be fussing at her the entire time.  Yvette is also the one who adopted Colonel after Cayde’s passing. Relationships: Yvette’s two lovers are both gone and she remains single.  She claims to prefer it this way, but she just hasn’t wanted to look.  She has a rather dark humor outlook on the entire thing.
I have an idea for a ship for Yvette, but I’m still trying to figure out if it will work with her or not.  It might.  I once shipped this one with Siobhan (and I still do to an extent but my current hyperfixation is Crow/Siobhan).  We shall see how it goes.

first crota fireteam headcanons!
putting this below a cut because it’s ungodly long. i have so many thoughts about them and pre-hellmouth eris i just let the delusions take over.
Eris Morn
Initially very outgoing, optimistic and talkative, typical Hunter sense of humor, curiosity, snd adventurousness, with a touch of that Warlock-y bookishness
Short, about 5’5, and a little chubby, physically in her late 20’s-early 30’s, brown curly hair with bangs, generally very neat and well-kept appearance with a preference for comfy sweaters/long skirts
Competitive and surprisingly intelligent for a Hunter, very nimble and quick in combat, Arc Blade Dancer
Friendly and even a little promiscuous, disastrously non-monogamous bisexual heartbreaker, catches feelings fast and easy
Close relationship with Brya, who acts like a cross between a nagging Russian babushka and the one girl in the friend group who takes closet organization a little too seriously.
Became progressively more mature throughout the Ahamkara Hunt/Great Disaster, during which she was the oblivious third-wheel to Eriana and Wei Ning
Changed drastically after Wei Ning’s death, becoming more reserved but still optimistic and hopeful
Her #1 motivation for the attack on Crota was to help Eriana find peace and heal from Wei Ning’s death; absolutely had strange and undefined feelings for Eriana
Vell Tarlowe
Courageous and noble, a prime example of the “knightly” Titan. Focused on honor and ethics, doing the right thing and never leaving anyone behind
Handsome and boyishly charming, about 6’2 and fit but not incredibly bulky, sun-tanned with beachy blonde hair and blue eyes; think Captain America meets Ken from the Barbie movie.
Multi-subclass with a preference toward Void; more of a lover than a fighter. Will always prioritize getting civilians and teammates out safely over taking out enemies when possible
Probably the second oldest after Toland, has had a long-running patrol in the EDZ villages helping transport civilians through enemy territory
Saved Eris and Brya from being crushed under debris after a Fallen attack, then recruited her for his patrol team; he has a strong fondness for her that remained even after Eris went her own way
Has an extremely sensitive side and cares deeply for other people, especially children; highly empathetic and would give you the shirt off his back if you asked, selfless to a fault
Treats Razor almost like a little brother; he’s Vell’s #1 hype man and encourager of his occasional reckless ideas
Metalwork is his “peace of mind” hobby, enjoys the repetitive process of making chainmail and other small jewelry crafts, especially for his close friends and partners
Immediately hit it off with Omar upon introduction; the extrovert friend who handles social situations Omar is too awkward for
His death in the Hellmouth was 100% pure self-sacrifice; he’d volunteered to guard the rear, didn’t draw any attention to himself or cry for help to prevent the others from getting hurt trying to save him
Died at peace knowing he’d at least helped his team get to their destination safely
Sai Mota
Shy, quiet, and very introverted, unassuming and easily overlooked. She initially gravitated toward Eris’ outgoing nature
Very petite, about 5’3, extremely thin and flexible, of Asian descent, straight dark hair, dark eyes, and freckles!
Knife girl, has at least 6 on her person at all times, stealthy assassin-style fighter, Bade Barrage and throwing knife enthusiast
Carves beads/charms and makes jewelry in her free time, sometimes sells it for a little extra Glimmer
Has a tendency to be easily convinced or persuaded, typically relies on others for guidance and decision-making, very go with the flow and adaptable
Despite being quiet, Sai is unstoppable if you get her fired up about something she’s passionate about. Will lecture you if you talk down on yourself in her presence
Was just as optimistic about the attack on Crota as Eris, if not more, very quick to befriend Vell, Omar, and even Toland
Lost it a little bit after Vell’s death. She knew their mission was doomed and accepted that if he hadn’t survived, she probably wouldn’t make it out either, wanted her death to be meaningful
After they failed to kill the Hand of Crota, she ran in the opposite direction of Eriana to allow her escape, allowed Yuka to keep reviving her so many times as a diversion to keep Omnigul distracted even though it was a waste of her Light
Toland was 100% right about her; she desperately craved her team’s respect, especially from Eris
Omar Agah
Mega-nerd, detail oriented, and painfully socially awkward. Could not navigate his way out of a social situation to save his life.
Tall, around 6’0, very broad and bulky build, not fat persay but definitely a big guy. Dark-skinned Afro-Latino with long locs and brown eyes, says he’s 31 because that’s a Good Number.
OCD as hell and extremely picky/particular/paranoid about everything. Chronic skin-picker, rest in pieces to his upper arms, lips, and fingers, he has tons of scarring and picks so much his ghost can barely keep up with it
Some of his obsessions include: 2 and 4 are unlucky numbers, asymmetry is bad luck, if he doesn’t give his little talismans to people in his life they’ll die horrifically and it’s his fault.
Multi-subclass Hunter. Will obsess over what works best for each specific mission/objective. The most flawless and meticulous builds and weapon-ability combos
His ghost, Karsys, is relatively quiet and uninvolved with Omar, more of a strong and silent protector when necessary
Met Eris when she saved him from certain final death in a lost sector. She stumbled across him by chance, but Omar took it as a sign that she’s Good Luck
Any time he has a risky mission coming up, he’ll pop up at Eris’ door with treats and little gifts and spend the night chatting with her like she’s some Goddess of Fortune
Full faith in the Crota raid because Eris Is There
Absolutely HATES Toland’s vibes. Everything about him screams misfortune and Omar can’t stand it
Gave every one of his team mates their own little talisman before the raid just for that extra good-luck boost; held onto Eris’ though she declined it
Sai and Vell’s deaths pretty much shattered his entire world view. He made sure everything was perfect, that they were wearing his gifts, and they still died.
Felt like he deserved the torture of losing his ghost and having his Light torn away piece by piece because he failed to protect his team. Ouch!
When Eris saw him in his final moments, he urged her to leave him behind and press on, confident that she’d make it to the end even if he’d damned the rest of their team
Obviously it wasn’t his choice to get turned into a bug, but funny enough, Bug Omar is a cricket! And Bug Omar gets encased in amber when Eris puts him in Xenophage. Both crickets and amber are symbols of good luck :)
Toland, the Shattered
Enigmatic cryptic old man scholar, frustratingly cagey, speaks in riddles, major know-it-all and certified well-actually specialist.
Lanky and tallish, around 5’10-11, long black hair and pretty pale from lack of sunlight. Probably a little Native American somewhere in his ancestry, visibly a bit more aged than the others, between late 40’s-early 50’s
NOVA BOMB VOIDLOCK BABY!! Collects Hive weapons for funsies but rarely uses them in close range combat
Poor eyesight and very little spatial awareness, strong disdain for the flesh and neglects basic tasks like eating, sleeping, bathing, etc. when he’s fixated on something. Also super clumsy and constantly bruised from running into shit in his little exiled wizard lair
Toland and Guren are typical freak and freak-enabler. They’re each others’ only company in exile, so Guren feeds into all of Toland’s ideas and theories and gets just as invested as he is
The Hive obsession is strong and he definitely was treading into some dangerous territory, theorized that a Lightbearer could commune with the Hive via hearing the Deathsong and ultimately produce Lucent Hive
Joined the team mostly to get in close proximity with Ir Yut and planned to offer himself and his Light up to her
Unveiled his signature weapon to his raid team as the “Osseous Rifle of Four-Hundred Screams”, but Omar freaked out, said it had “bad juju”, and the nickname stuck.
Clicked surprisingly well with Sai despite not having a ton of faith in her, also close with Eris and Eriana as he’d briefly tutored them in Hive lore when they were preparing for the first attack on Crota. They aren’t sure whether the information he gave them had anything to do with Wei Ning’s death
Guided the team through the Hellmouth, took care of translating any Hive tunes they came across and solving all the puzzles. Genuinely made a valiant effort until they reached Ir Yut
Rocked up to her with all his autistic rizz on some “let’s form an alliance” shit and got balled anyway. Not mad about it though!
Eriana-3
Semi-competent lesbian with a strong will and fighting spirit. If Eris is a Warlock-ish Hunter, Eriana is a Titan-ish Warlock. That big heart gets her into a Lot Of Situations.
Around 5’10, slender but sturdy build and very elegant looking for an Exo. Her plating is white, grey and orange with markings around the crown of her head that resemble a sunburst. Very piercing orange-yellow eyes
Phoenix Protocol Well-lock. Typical strategy is keeping her well up at all times so Wei and Eris could do most of the offense/damage and run back to her for healing
Spent most of her time as a guardian trying to be that ideal super-serious no fun allowed Praxic Warlock— until she met Wei Ning
Fell in love with Wei Ning the first time she heard her laugh, then Wei spent most of their “talking” stage trying to get Eriana to laugh back. Eriana’s laugh is super dorky and obnoxious and Wei loved it
They got married in a simple ceremony at the bar they first met at— Eriana gave Wei a hand cannon as a wedding gift hence the name Eriana’s Vow. Wei gifted her a specially-made version of the Fighting Lion grenade launcher that had enhanced damage perks while standing in a Well
Jax and Wei Ning’s Ghost were in love too :)
Met Eris through association with Ikora— viewed her as a close friend and is very protective of her. There’s something confusing and complex going on with their relationship, but Wei treated Eris like a little sister and Eriana didn’t know how to navigate that.
Easily the least reckless of their group before Wei Ning’s death. That was a major turning point and all her composure went out the door. She became very impulsive and revenge-driven, not caring about the consequences so long as it meant avenging Wei
Relied on Eris for a lot of emotional support after that, which Eris definitely took the wrong way. They kissed and slept together (like actually cuddled and fell asleep) a handful of times before facing Crota, but they both knew it wasn’t anything serious and Eris would never be to her what Wei was
Fond of Vell, Sai and Omar, trusted them to care for Eris in all the ways she couldn’t; still saw them as expendable but had hope they’d be smart enough to retreat if things got dicey
Very contentious relationship with Toland; her Praxic ideology contradicts with his affinity for the Hive and she harbors suspicion that he misled them in the first Crota raid and/or somehow contributed to Wei’s death. She definitely might have hoped that something would happen to Toland during their raid
Her objective for the raid was “avenge Wei Ning or die trying”, very much did not intend to make it out herself. By the time they actually embarked on the raid, she was entirely consumed and blinded by her need for vengeance.
Was essentially “throwing” the entire raid, not playing to her skill set, fighting offensively and Titan-like rather than staying support, never used her Well a single time in the Hellmouth
Not to mention, she was using Wei Ning’s gun the entire time!!! Not, yknow, one of her own long-range weapons that she was used to using to suit her combat style
Died willingly to Ir Yut, assuming that the rest of her team was already dead and she’d taken them all to the grave in pursuit of vengeance— unleashed the full power of her Light as she died as a last-ditch effort to make this all mean something, even if it was only injuring the Deathsinger in the process

@beings-of-creation said: "...Bring a Guardian is hard." Eaihan mumbles. He's just leaning on Lorna's shoulder, eyes closed as he tries to just...relax.
Tumblr media
Lorna sat on the sofa in her quarters on the Tower, idly playing with a ball of void energy. She never thought she'd be back here, but she thought it was for the best since Eaihan had gained the Light. She could teach him how to be a Warlock, but in reality, it was up to him to choose his own path and there was no better place than to discover that around other Guardians on the Tower.
The ball of void light shimmered away into the ether. "It is. But it's easier when you're not alone." Lorna laid her head against his. "Ikora's tried for years to get me to build a fireteam."
"Being in a Fireteam would be good for you as a New Light. It'll help you cope and will help you learn your powers." She sighed and slipped her arms around him. She didn't know if they'd let her be a Fireteam leader if they knew she'd lost her Light and try as she might, she couldn't keep it a secret much longer.
She sunk back into the sofa, gently pulling him with her.
