Parade - FictionJunction Album Random Thoughts
Just got to listen to the full album so I thought I would share my initial reaction to the songs. I am not too invested in most of the collabs but I still wanted to check out all of them at least once.
FictionJunction - ALBUM「PARADE」 - 【Release date】 2023/04/19 Check out the official website for the album which contains some self liner notes by YK.
First Press Limited Edition (CD+Blu-ray) ¥ 6,600 VVCL 2147~2148
Regular Edition (CD) ¥ 3,300 VVCL 2149
Order link:https://fictionjunction.lnk.to/0419AL_parade Stream link:https://fictionjunction.lnk.to/PARADE
【Tracklist】 01. Prologue: Smitten. Very beautiful. It’s nice how some of the main melodies of the album come together here to create the most perfect prologue. 02. ことのほかやわらかい (Koto no Hoka Yawarakai): I certainly expected something else based on the title. The beginning got me super excited because I typically love this type of song from YK but then the whole thing just lost its structure for me. Can’t really get into it 03. 夜光塗料 feat. ASCA (Yakō toryō): Nothing to write home about 04. Beginning: I really loved the live version so I had high hopes for this. How does Keiko manage to sound even more cutesy here? It fits the song though so I am fine with it. Yuriko’s lalala part is somehow not as chill-inducing as it was for the live performance but when everyone joins in, the harmonies are gorgeous, it sounds really well put together and beautiful. 05. もう君のことを見たくない feat. rito (Mō Kimi no Koto wo Mitakunai): Still very fond of this. While I am not 100% sold on rito’s vocals, I do really appreciate the sorrow she is able to convey with her singing. 06. 櫂 feat. Aimer (Kai): Wow, this is literally an exact replica of “Mizu no Akashi”. Or I guess it would be more accurate to say that “Mizu no Akashi” was ripped off from "Kai” because apparently that song was written almost 30 years ago. It’s a nice ballad obviously but Wakana’s version of “Mizu no Akashi” is so much more beautiful in my opinion. 07. 蒼穹のファンファーレ feat. 藍井エイル&ASCA&ReoNa (Sōkyū no fanfāre): Decent song but none of the included vocalists do anything for me. 08. 八月のオルガン feat. LINO LEIA (Hachigatsu no Organ): My opinion didn’t really change on this. Quite a solid song. Absolutely adore the chorus. The dynamics in this are very old-school. I know that Keiko mentioned in one of her FC magazines that the structure and harmony distribution reminded her a lot of Kalafina and yeah, that’s something I definitely agree with. Although I still don’t think LINO LEIA sounds like Wakana (which many fans seem to believe). 09. それは小さな光のような feat. KEIKO (Sore ha Chīsana Hikari no you na): I know I wasn’t impressed with the live version so I was hoping for a different reaction when listening to the studio track. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. I am so sorry Keiko!!! I realise that this is some great work from Keiko but the melody of the song just falls flat for me. 10. from the edge feat. LiSA: Nope, not my cup of tea. Next 11. moonlight melody: Always a tremendous joy to listen to this but I feel like the live versions are so much more precious. 12. 世界の果て feat. 結城アイラ (Sekai no hate): Meh. Normally I’d be all over the gorgeous piano and strings but the song as a whole is just not particularly memorable. And I will never like Asuka’s voice. 13. Parade: As I’ve mentioned before, I am not the biggest fan of Joelle as main vocalist but that hasn’t stopped me from falling in love with the song. It’s just so lovely. Some people have compared it to “Homura” and yeah, I guess both songs feel similar to me, especially in terms of really enjoying the song itself despite not liking the vocalist. I have no idea if I am still too biased towards Wakana but I don’t even think that’s the issue here since I have no reference of Wakana previously singing. But I guess subconsciously I still kinda miss her in songs like this.
M 01,02,04,11,13 feat. KAORI/KEIKO/YURIKO KAIDA/Joelle
So yeah, “Parade” might actually be my favourite song on the album, what a surprise XD And “Prologue” is just such a great intro. Maybe I will appreciate “ことのほかやわらかい” more once I get to hear it live. It certainly has potential to become something I like. I do think that the collabs with rito and LINO LEIA are much better than any other tracks on this album which feature guest artists. Maybe it’s because YK put more effort into writing the songs specifically for them after the audition? I hope “それは小さな光のような“ will eventually grow on me because I really wanna like this song for Keiko’s sake...We’ll see.

Undisputed Junior Middleweight Champion Charlo Challenges Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Álvarez Headlining SHOWTIME PPV® Saturday, September 30 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
HOUSTON, TX. – Undisputed junior middleweight world champion Jermell Charlo held a live-streamed media workout on Monday and previewed his upcoming showdown against undisputed super middleweight world champion Canelo Álvarez topping a SHOWTIME PPV Saturday, September 30, from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Canelo Promotions will present the Premier Boxing Champions Pay-Per-View.
Houston’s Charlo will look to earn undisputed status in a second weight class with a career-defining triumph over Canelo in the first showdown between two reigning male undisputed champions in the four-belt era.
Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by Canelo Promotions and TGB Promotions, are available through AXS.com.
Charlo’s workout streamed live on the SHOWTIME Sports YouTube channel and SHOWTIME Boxing Facebook Page and was co-hosted by WWE Hall of Famer and radio personality Booker T and PBC announcer Ray Flores. Here is what Charlo, along with trainer Derrick James, had to say Monday from his training camp in Houston:
JERMELL CHARLO
“I’ve been doing this my whole life, and now it’s time to put on for my city. Put up or shut up and do what I do. I’m facing one of the best fighters in the world, you have to be excited for this moment.
“Now is the right time for this fight. We’re in our primes and at our best. I wanna shake the doubters off and prove to the world why I’m in this position. There’s a reason I made it this far. I’m gonna show what I’m made of. Everything I’ve done since I was eight years old, I’m putting it all on the line now.
“I’m not going to have to worry about losing too much weight. I’ve been sparring bigger guys for a very long time, and now it’s about bringing that same mindset that I have at 154 pounds and bringing it up with me to 168 pounds.
“Of course, there’s pressure. We have to be dominant and not just rely on a knockout. I have to beat him for 12 rounds. I have to do what I have to do in the ring to protect myself while still being vicious.
“This is a dream come true, just like winning undisputed, winning a world title and making it out the mud was. Once you get this far and see yourself prospering, you just want to keep bringing it. I’m staying focused on handling business.
“We’ve done so much sparring and conditioning. I’m working on the mental as well, because I know it’s not only about the physical. I’ve been training 14 weeks and making sure I do everything I need to.
“I just have to stay hungry. And I’ve been hungry. I would’ve fought Canelo years ago, and it probably wouldn’t have been as big as it is now. But I’m not too focused on being in the ring with Canelo, I’m just hungry. I want to win this fight for my city.
“If I accomplish this massive goal, it’ll be hard to top. I’ll be in the record book with the greats of boxing for a long time.
“I’m so dialed in as far as my team and everyone around me. I just need to get in the ring and do what I have to do.”
DERRICK JAMES, Charlo’s Trainer
“Having two undisputed championships at the same time would be amazing. It would be historic for Jermell.
“It’s gonna be back and forth early. Canelo has to impose his will, and Jermell has to show him who he is. You have to stop him from being his great self.
“Jermell’s advantage is actually his size. You have to maximize that advantage. It’s about what Jermell is able to do. He doesn’t have to become the guy, he has to be the guy.
“You win the fight in the gym. You’re not pulling a rabbit out of your hat. You have to go in the ring having done it the right way.”

'The Voice' announces Season 25 coaches, including first-ever coaching duo The Voice has announced its lineup of coaches for Season 25, including the show's first-ever, coaching duo. NBC has announced three-time Grammy Award winners Dan + Shay will serve as The Voice's first co-coaching team when the show returns with a new season in Spring 2024. Dan + Shay -- who will share a "red double chair," according to NBC -- will be joined by country icon Reba McEntire as well as veteran coaches John Legend and Chance the Rapper for Season 25. Reba and John signed on for back-to-back seasons of The Voice, as they'll also be serving as coaches on the show's 24th season this fall alongside veteran coaches Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani. Chance will be coaching artists again on Season 25 after serving as a coach on Season 23 earlier this year, when he brought new arrangements and a fresh musical perspective to the NBC reality series. One of The Voice's inaugural coaches, country singer Blake Shelton, retired from the show last season and won't be returning for the foreseeable future. Dan + Shay previously appeared on The Voice as a Battle-Round advisor for Blake's team on Season 20. Dan + Shay has achieved nine No. 1 singles on country radio. In 2021, the duo became the first artists to win the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance three times in a row since the category's inception. They are on the verge of releasing their fourth studio album titled "Good Things." The Voice crowned Gina Miles its Season 23 champion over runner-up Grace West during the Season 23 finale that aired in May 2023 on NBC. Gina, a 19-year-old from Paxton, IL, won by a vote that turned out to be "the closest margin of victory in The Voice history," according to show host Carson Daly. Gina was a member of Niall's team, giving Niall his first The Voice victory as a coach. Grace, a 19-year-old from Canton, MI, was a member of Blake's team.About The Author: Elizabeth KwiatkowskiElizabeth Kwiatkowski is Associate Editor of Reality TV World and has been covering the reality TV genre for more than a decade. !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s) if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function()n.callMethod? n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments); if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0'; n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0; t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)(window, document,'script', 'https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js'); fbq('init', '139494146798076'); fbq('track', 'PageView'); (function(d, s, id) var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1&appId=226191007403108"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); (document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); [ad_2] Read More

Parade - FictionJunction MV
The official music video of FictionJunction’s new song 「Parade」 will premiere TODAY on YouTube (April 17 at 22:00 JST). Be sure to check out the video! The tiny teaser sounds like something I would enjoy so I am very curious about the full track.
Thoughts: I was aware that the girl in the teaser was an actress for the MV but I was hoping we would get at least a few glimpses of the FictionJunction members but alas, we didn’t. Overall, I am not the biggest fan of Joelle as main vocalist. She is doing a good job of course and the song is quite lovely actually but her vocals don’t do anything for me. I don’t even know why. It’s not one of those instances where I am used to Wakana’s voice so I just can’t imagine the song without her. In this case I have no reference so I have no idea if this would even work with Wakana but I there’s something about Joelle’s voice that I have a hard time enjoying (just like I have never cared for Kaori’s voice).

My 2022 in a nutshell!
2022 has been a smorgasbord of ups & downs with the highest highs and lowest lows for all the right reasons.
January: I received a mini talking Oshawott plush that came all the way from the United States still in mint condition after 10 years! Then I built the LEGO 10290 Pickup Truck (which I could've done it months earlier so my grandfather would have an interesting reaction but it's too late now). I drove all the way to Milang so I could take a closer look at a coveted Lightburn Trailer! I even gave the seller some spares. Dad & I went saw The Addams Family 2 at Mainline Drive-In which closed its gates for the last time. I finally upgraded to a better phone; a Samsung Galaxy A25 which performs way better than my older one.
February: I got started on my Lightburn Trailer project by buying a vintage Campbell tail lamp still in mint condition with its original box! The Radio Rentals building on Main North Road in Prospect was demolished. Oreo released a special edition design themed to 'The Batman'. At Grill'd, I also tried their special 'Bruce Wayne Burger'. Bought LEGO's blue edition of the Fiat 500 just to take advantage of its differences.
March: At the Garden of Unearthly Delights which turned 20, me and a buddy named Vincent saw Unusualism starring Raymond Crowe. At Gluttony, dad & I saw Just Floyd which was a fantastic Pink Floyd cover band. I made my first Pikachu Waffle with the waffle iron I bought from Zing. Bought LEGO's 10298 Vespa 125 scooter and it only took a couple of hours to build! The house where my grandmother lived for more than 20 years in Greenock was put up for sale as she moved to a retirement estate in Nuriootpa. I had a wonderful time at WOMADelaid's 30th Year though I had to leave early at 9pm as I had work the next day. Dad & I saw Midnight Oil at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. This was (I think) the first time I saw a show there in 20 years!
April: Bought some goodies from the Comic & Toy Fair at the St Clair Rec Centre in Woodville.
May: I had lunch with Vincent at the Gilbert Valley Hotel in Saddleworth which had decor stuck in the 1970s! Coles at the Central Market closed its doors after operating for more than 50 years. Classic buses came for a visit at the St Kilda Tramway Museum and I had a few rides on bus 1540! The ANZ branch at Ridgehaven moved to Modbury after operating for many years.
June: Went to the Mega Toy Fair at Wayville and bought a few nostalgic things including LEGO's Highway Rig from 1986, a vintage Corgi ice cream van still in top condition and a bag of Dazzeland cups! Saw Top Gun: Maverick with my dad at Hoyts for the first time in LUX! The state's dine-in Pizza Hut in Marion closed its doors forever after more than 40 years. Dad & I went to the Gov in Bowden and saw Steve Hackett: Genesis Revisited (which was worth a two-year wait after they postponed touring due to COVID!) The TREG trailer factory ceased operations due to poor sales. But I've managed to grab a few maker plaques and have them coated.
July: Went to Brixpo at the St Clair Rec Centre which was bigger and better than before and bought that coveted FJ Holden Ute which was a 2014 Brickvention exclusive! Also had a wonderful night at Illuminate Adelaide. Had a bounce at the state's only Flip-Out in Smithfield which closed its doors after nearly five years. Saw Gorillaz and later; Synthony at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Both were absolutely awesome!
August: The ford on Mulkarra Street in Ridgehaven has been upgraded to a low-level bridge which should mean flooding will be very less likely during wet weather. The road & cycle safety centre in Ridgehaven underwent an upgrade including replacement of all the signs and new paths. Bought a few things at the Fisherman's Wharf Markets in Port Adelaide which (yet again!) closed its doors for the last time! Went to the Gawler Show for the first time in a few years. Then I saw KISS at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre with Vincent. I was so delighted to fill that space in my lifetime.
September: On my 32nd Birthday, I got the new LEGO Ferrari Daytona SP3 and the Chevrolet Camaro! I had a wonderful time at the Royal Adelaide Show and I was so glad it returned after a two-year absence due to COVID, only to be overshadowed by the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96! Several days earlier, I knew she wasn't going to last any longer. It was truly the end of a very ambitious era! Still, she was BORDERLINE LUCKY to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee. Went to the Scott Creek Cemetery where Harold Anderton Lightburn's grave is just a few days after the 20th Anniversary of his death.
October: For the first time in only six years, I've been in a wave pool at Mildura Waves! And I even managed to take footage with my GoPro! We were originally going to travel to Wodonga to visit Uncle Tony & Aunt Heather. But however, the most-unexpected happened as Victoria and other parts of eastern Australia suffered major flooding, forcing us to change plans and instead, we went all the way to Wallaroo and then Port Lincoln.
November: I've taken footage of Hamilton's 'Sizzler' ride being setup for the first time in my life! Purchased both Pokemon Scarlet/Violet from EB Games. My mother turned 70 and I gave her a tin of Lindt Lindor balls!
December: Finally bought my first Knight Rider merch; Playmobil's Light & Sound K.I.T.T. from ToyWorld. I tried to attend the Civic Park Carols but it was too wet! Saw Avatar: The Way Of Water in 3D on XtremeScreen! Got great xmas gifts including LEGO's Atari 2600 model, a Pikachu-style Grilled Sandwich Maker and... A POWERED BICYCLE! Now I can ride to and from work without wasting petrol!
Other notable achievements: The former 'FLAG' semi-trailer (seen in Knight Rider) was found lurking in Arizona after 36 Years by the Knight Rider Historians! So both semi and trailer will be worked on which will take a few years! After 25 Years, Ash Ketchum has become the GRAND CHAMPION! However, it's now officially the end of an ambitious era as Ash Ketchum's epic journey came to an epic conclusion! Though I may still vow to stick to Pokemon to the very end!
We will remember: Queen Elizabeth II, Jason David Frank (a.k.a. the original Green Ranger), Olivia Newton John, Robbie Coltrane, Shane Warne, Meat Loaf, Peter Robbins (original voice of Charlie Brown), Emilio Delgado a.k.a. Luis the handyman, Taylor Hawkins, Gilbert Gottfried (a.k.a. Iago the parrot), Ivana Trump, Anne Heche, Coolio, Loretta Lynn, Jody Miller, Dietrich Mateschitz (Red Bull founder), Terry Hall
And that's about it for me. I would like to wish everyone on DeviantArt a very Merry Christmas and not just a Happy but BETTER New Year 2023! Don't forget to leave your comments below, subscribe and I'll see you all in the year of the National Railway Museum's 60th Anniversary!

Hebron’s mayor elicits backlash with launch of dog-killing campaign

Hebron’s mayor elicits backlash with launch of dog-killing campaign
(November 6, 2022 / JNS) Hebron Mayor Tayseer Abu Sneineh announced last week a 20 shekel ($5.50) bounty for every stray dog killed or delivered to the municipality. Images of dogs being subsequently tortured and killed sparked outrage on social media.
Abu Sneineh proposed the bounty during a local radio broadcast as a solution to the city’s dog overpopulation problem, according to Israeli media reports.
The initiative sparked criticism, however, after images of local residents answering the mayor’s call met with hundreds of angry responses.
“Disgusting,” “Evil,” and “ANIMALS & I don’t mean the poor dog,” were a few of the reactions.
The Animal and Environment Association in Bethlehem also condemned the campaign on social media.
Subscribe to The JNS Daily Syndicate by email and never miss our top stories
“This bloody campaign resulted in killing many dogs, [by] shooting, hanging, abusing, running over them by cars. What happened today is beyond humanity and ethics. No religion would accept such barbaric actions toward innocent animals,” it said in a statement.
Hebron’s mayor later backtracked on Facebook, saying he hadn’t been serious and only wanted to “stir stagnant water,” in order to “find a solution to the disturbing phenomenon of stray dogs” in Hebron, according to the reports.
Abu Sneineh is a convicted terrorist, imprisoned with three others for his role in a 1980 attack that took the lives of six yeshiva students, two of which were U.S. citizens and one Canadian. One of the U.S. citizens was a decorated Vietnam war veteran. Sixteen others were injured in the attack.
He was elected Hebron’s mayor in 2017.

The National Football League (NFL) is much more than a game; it's a powerhouse that defines American culture, and it's been doing so for over a century. Beyond the colossal revenues it generates annually, the NFL's enduring popularity can be attributed to its thrilling, fast-paced action, a passionate fan base, and its omnipresence in American media and daily life.
This league, born over a century ago, symbolizes American values like teamwork, determination, and perseverance. The Super Bowl, a global spectacle, stands as a testament to American culture and its values. The ultimate sporting event, it's a time for families and friends to unite, indulging in delicious food while cheering for their beloved teams. It's a celebration of American culture, with the halftime show showcasing top-notch American music, talent, and commercials providing a glimpse into American consumerism.
The NFL represents more than dollars and cents; it's a vital economic force, touching communities nationwide. It sustains thousands of livelihoods, from players and coaches to the dedicated stadium staff. The economic ripples are felt in many forms:
Increased tourism and local spending in host cities
Job opportunities in the sports media and entertainment industries
A significant source of tax revenue for local governments
Their impact is even more profound in smaller towns and rural areas, where NFL teams often serve as a lifeline. For example, the Green Bay Packers are owned by their fans and are a linchpin of the city's economic stability.
NFL games are bigger than televised events; they are experiences. They captivate audiences through TV, radio, and online platforms, and the league produces a diverse range of content, from gripping documentaries to thrilling video games. It's not merely a spectator sport; it's an all-encompassing culture. Fans proudly wear their team jerseys, indulge in spirited tailgating, and participate in fantasy football leagues. The NFL has become a means for people to connect and bond over their shared love for the game.
The NFL also serves as a mirror to society, addressing critical social issues like racism, sexism, and the long-term impact of concussions. While not without criticism, the league's willingness to confront these issues has made it a more relevant and inclusive institution. It has taken steps to protect players from head injuries and promote diversity and inclusion.
But the NFL isn't just about what happens on the field; it's about fostering community. Fans come together to watch games, tailgate, and celebrate their teams. The league actively organizes community events, from youth football programs to charity fundraisers, building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging among fans. Programs like PLAY 60 encourage kids to stay active and lead healthy lives, reducing childhood obesity and promoting overall well-being.
Yet, not all stories about the NFL are rosy. Some players have suffered due to the league's handling of issues like concussions, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), financial security, mental health, and drug abuse. The NFL has taken steps to address these concerns. Still, it must do more to ensure player well-being, financial security, and mental health support.
Looking ahead, the NFL faces challenges, including declining viewership, increased safety concerns, financial pressures, and competition from emerging leagues. Nevertheless, it remains America's favorite pastime, buoyed by a strong brand and devoted fans.
In the next 20 years, expect the NFL to double down on safety, expand into new markets, harness technology for more precise calls and player performance enhancement, and increase its involvement in social responsibility initiatives like diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
The NFL is an ever-evolving institution, and its evolution in the coming decades will undoubtedly be a captivating narrative to follow.

Perc'ahlia Firewatch AU? Color me intrigued. 👀
Yeah! So this is something I mentioned a few weeks ago. It's inspired by the videogame Firewatch where Percy and Vex are both firelookouts. And since it's the one coming after I finish the fj childhood friend au, I'm going to give you much, but here's an excerpt:
She clicks on a few lights and sits down by the radio, pencil in hand as she looks out for lightning. She notes down the locations of three strikes before the radio crackles to life and Percy’s voice comes through to her.
“What’s the easiest way to dry hiking boots?” He asks.
Vex cackles, “Did you get caught in the rain, darling?”
“...Perhaps. Look, I was just going to the supply box to see if there’s any books in it, I didn’t expect the sky to fucking open and start pouring rain.”
“City boy,” Vex teases. “I could smell the rain coming since this morning.”
“And you didn’t tell me?” Percy pouts. “I thought we were friends.”
