Various - Future-Now! Presents - Flexi 7" - 1987
Somewhere, lurking (thinly) in my collection is this banger! I’ve always loved flexi-discs, they somehow seem more “punk”, more towards the DIY ethic.
What I don’t remember, is if “Future Now!” was a music fanzine, or a skateboarding magazine. I think the latter - but not sure!

Flexi Discs: The Retro Music Format Making a Comeback in 2023
Flexi Discs, the thin, flexible vinyl records that were popular in the 1960s and 70s, are making a surprising comeback in 2023. This throwback format, once thought to be obsolete, is now gaining popularity among music enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Flexi Discs were originally used as promotional items and were often found inside magazines or included with products. They were made from thin, flexible vinyl and were typically 7 inches in diameter.
Furthermore, the comeback of Flexi Discs has also been fueled by the rise of the vinyl revival. Vinyl records have been making a resurgence in recent years, with sales increasing year after year. This renewed interest in physical media has led to a renewed interest in other formats, including Flexi Discs.
One of the major advantages of Flexi Discs is their portability. They are lightweight and flexible, making them easy to carry around and play on-the-go. This is particularly appealing in today's world where people are always on the move and looking for convenient ways to enjoy their music.
Another advantage of Flexi Discs is their affordability. They are much cheaper to produce than traditional vinyl records, which makes them an attractive option for independent labels and artists who are looking to release music on a budget. This has led to a proliferation of new releases on the format, spanning a wide range of genres from indie rock to experimental electronic music.
In conclusion, the comeback of Flexi Discs is a testament to the enduring appeal of physical media and the creativity of independent labels and artists. Whether you're a collector looking for something new or a music lover looking for a unique listening experience, Flexi Discs are definitely worth checking out. So dust off your turntable and start exploring the world of Flexi Discs today!
