Hello!! I don't know how active this blog is anymore, but I just fell ass over tits into Black Sails hell and I would love FlintSilver fanfic recs : ) Or even better, MadiFlintSilver fanfic recs : )

We of the BS fandom are always glad to welcome a new sufferer to our ranks 😂 I have a couple of fic rec compilations here and here, which are Silverflint heavy but also feature Silverflinthamilton, Silverflint + Miranda, and Silverflinthamilton + Madi. oh m’god I just got done listening to this podcast with black sails co-creator jonathan steinberg and some highlights

anne is gay according to him, her and jack’s relationship isn’t romantic so much as they’re two parts of a whole in a mythological sense

eleanor and woodes rogers is at this point the only heterosexual romance on the show: “we’re three seasons in and we haven’t had a heterosexual love story yet, we should probably do one of those at some point” (WHEN I TELL YOU I SCREAMED! he did confirm silver and madi as becoming an item in s4 though)

he mentioned how they’ll sometimes write and film scenes he really likes, cut them in editing, and then a year later he’ll wish they had kept it in... how much have we been deprived of!!

after a lengthy discussion of how convoluted and risky the structure of 3.10 was but how it hit all the right emotional points, goes on to say s4 is “emotionally more complicated” and the payoff wrt flintsilver is amazing (using flintsilver as a noun)

while talking about how silver is the only character we haven’t gotten backstory on: “his unknowability was baked into the nature of the story, in terms of what he meant to flint. that was not an accident, nor was the moment [in s4] in which it finally comes out” I’M SO READY TO DIE
