Oh BOLLOCKS a bunch of dead wild birds have been found the next town over. Reckon that's the end of my wild swimming season and the start of increased chicken biosecurity then.

My two hens <3
They’re called Terry-Anne and Freja and I love them so much they’re my little ladies. They’re both Bovans Brown hens, basically the bog standard.
I am in the market for at least one more, since I had to rehome my rooster since he was too loud and I don’t want to upset neighbours, but with flockdown I can’t really introduce new birds to my flock for the safety of them and my own Incase someone is a carrier. Speaking of, this is an old image when they didn’t have to stay in a covered are so don’t worry, I’m responsible :)

Homes needed for ex-commercial laying hens in Selston

Homes needed for ex-commercial laying hens in Selston
400 hens need to be rehomed on November 19, after they were saved by Chicken Rescue UK at just 72 weeks old.
These hens are only about 72 weeks old, but with avian influenza cases rising and “flockdown” – the housing of all poultry and kept birds – imminent, time is running out for them.
If an avian influenza outbreak occurs nearby, the movement of poultry will no longer be permitted; except to processing plants where the hens will become a source of pet food. For the moment, it is still possible to re-home them if appropriate measures are taken.

Corona-holidays in Switzerland Part5: the big snow
During the last week in Schaffhausen winter came back suddenly. It snowed the whole night. I haven’t seen so much snow since I was a kid. It was magical :D
I took some pictures on the way to the town at the riverside.

This is from the park right near my house that I walk/run around several times a week. Hell. Three dead swans as well, didn't look like a predator got them. Pretty sure the brook that feeds this lake goes up towards Sutton Park and down to the confluence of the Tame, Rea and multiple canals at Salford Junction; basically everywhere you get flocks of wild waterfowl in north east Birmingham.

#LockdownBirdsZA Day 33, Garden buzzing after yesterday's rain!: Grey Heron screaming to wake me up, Red-eyed Dove, flock of no less than 15 Laughing Doves (pictured) all preening & foraging, Red-winged Starling, lots of Common/European Starlings feeding on the wild banana trees (all in fresh new "starred" plumage, & one with a leucistic/white tail!), Pied Crow, Black-headed Oriole, Greater Double-collared Sunbird, I think a Southern Double-collared Sunbird did a quick flit-by + "seep!", Fork-tailed Drongos warbling their heads off all day, & the characteristic wail of Hadeda Ibis. #FLOCKdown #birdingfromhome #nevernotbirding #birding #birdtherapy #dove #SAlockdownchallenge #lockdownbirdchallenge #lockdownbirdingchallenge #birdwatching #birds #gardenbirds #birdsofsouthafrica #birdphotography #wildlifephotography #naturephotograpy (at Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_iZyeIgwqi/?igshid=s0qqalwwon9f

You know, because telling your OCD to sit down and shut up about the spread of one killer virus nobody takes seriously is playing on easy mode, apparently.
