I do try to keep one of every familiar in their too, but it's hard to keep track of especially with dragons having some that I only have a single copy of haha

the prince and his hound

zemira, grandson of a small light-flight domain's king, so far down the line and so disliked by his family he'd never take the throne, even if an uprising hadn't dismantled the monarchy. a bit naive in places, but generous to a fault and beloved by the city's tavern owners.

hawthorn, his ex-bodyguard/assistant, aloof but fiercely loyal. trained as a knight but barred from receiving his title after a werewolf attack left him "too unstable" for duty. a defective guard for a defective prince.

now the happy couple is enjoying a relatively quiet life together, at least compared to what they left behind.

hawthorn led his prince out of the city the night before the revolution, taking him to a family friend's farm in a certain wind clan known for providing refuge. both knew the revolution was coming and had been informants and/or donators but didn't know the other was involved.

zem wasn't aware thorn was a werewolf until they were attacked on the road- thorn's case is very well-controlled, he really only shifts under extreme distress, he turned after one went for zem and dispatched their assailants handily. thorn was pretty badly injured, but they were close enough to clan flygefisk's border to find help.

they now live with granite and his apprentice, leo- granite had trained thorn's father and thorn knew him when he was little. leo keeps trying to get thorn to spar with her.

they spend a lot of time at the market, manning granite's booth. zem likes being around other people and thorn likes the food. he's very food-motivated. (aka theyre in the market tab bc i don't want to reorganize anything rn)

thorn isn't used to affection, and zem is very affectionate. zem insists on pda, constantly, and thorn pretends to not enjoy it. thorn can't sleep anymore if zem isn't within arm's reach.

Lair Review: Kender/Flygefisk

 OOC review because I couldn’t decide which IC I wanted to do!

What a lovely snapper lady! I love how you used eyespot - its not a very used gene but it works well here - and how the skink matches well. Melliflora’s minimal apparel choices work very well too, displaying her skink, and going well with her role as beekeeper. Also, I’m weak for any flower apparel, so whoops.

Mint is one snappy dresser! Her colours are well matched with the silks, and the vest and breeches give the impression of a welcoming personality despite the more subdued tones. I must admit that I was surprised at her colours - stained does interesting things! - and I appreciate how well put together she is.

Rose is such a lovely dragon! An excellent use of stain, with genes I otherwise don’t pay much attention to but are beautifully offset by the bright reds you chose for his apparel. I like how simple his whole outfit is. Maybe you could add something more red, but small? I’m having a hard time thinking of what else, because it can’t be big or it will disturb the balance. In the end, though, I love him. What a good statue.

I have to say that as a water lair, and as my personal bias to blue-greens, I love Betta. The wig apparel works really well and adds depth to what might otherwise be too flat, and she looks like a tropical mermaid dragon, fitting with her profession as fisher. Really, what an excellent fisherlady.

I try to avoid doubles, especially those that use white, but for once I actually liked it and its simplicity as found in Spectre. Pinstripe pistachio is lovely and your use of such delicate apparel items matches very well! I do wish her eyes were a different colour - maybe wind, maybe ice - but that is a minor complaint when overall I look at her and feel peace.

hello??? she’s beautiful. i love that her eyes are the centerfocus and that the apparel is based around them. I love that her wings with pie match the cape’s white parts. i also love that she’s poly and both her mates are as good as she is.

actually jealous im not valentine, ngl. wish i could date eros because w o w. i love them. the manes are my weakness. i also love f pose snaps. the outfit? divine. i feel swept away just looking at them.

look. i didnt aim to pick out mostly f pose snappers but they all look REALLY good. merle seems so sweet, and honestly? her simple genes let her tert show. plus the pops of red? - chef’s kiss -

Lair review for @flygefisk!

I liked how your lair was organized! It was very fun reading through your clan information as the descriptions were so rich and vivid. I could definitely picture it in my head.

Anyway, onto the dragons.

Not to be dramatic, but Plumpkin is one of the cutest dragons I've ever had the pleasure of resting eyes on, from his name to his appearance. He is absolutely adorable, and reading his bio put a smile on my face. I would protect Plumpkin at all costs. Such a precious little baby!

Wow! Aspen's skin is really clever. Usually, I'm not that fond of skins that give dragons humanoid faces, but Aspen is gorgeous. The skin blends in seamlessly with the skydancer lineart; it took me a few seconds to see it! At first glance, you can clearly tell that she's supposed to be a harpy. I also love the yellow and red apparel that perfectly complement each other.

I love the different shades of green present in Steele's outfit, from bright, neon green to darker, more muted hues. His skin goes with his apparel so well! It's hard to tell where the apparel ends and the skin begins. His tert also matches the "capsule" on the tail, which I think is really cool.

I like the contrast Theo's gembond provides with his secondary gene! I think it's a refreshing pop of color. I also like his Deepsea Bulb, which is a nice touch.

Sweetheart certainly lives up to her name. She looks a soothing and kind dragon who would give me a cup of hot tea. I like how her Red Rose apparel matches the accents of her primary gene. She's very pretty, and I love how much flower apparel she has.

Overall, looking through your lair was highly enjoyable. You have great taste in dragons, and I enjoyed reading their bios :D

ok choosing only five dragons in your lair..very hard omg. you have such wonderful dragons, filled with so much personality! i really like your bio formatting something i need to look into myself dsasdf it’s fun seeing your dragons’ roles and everything laid out like that c:

Let’s start with Basalt! Now, I admit I am biased toward green snappers haha... but omg she works everything so well! She’s fierce, definitely looks like a guard no one should mess with if they wanna come out in one piece. and I LOVE when people take otherwise “unmatchy” eyes and make them tie into the apparel color scheme! Though even without the apparel, i think plague eyes and dark greens are a match made in heaven! (Also the fact that your lair’s guards are three amazing snapper ladies who are all mates with each other.... *chef’s kiss*)

Betta!! She’s such a beautiful looking bogsneak! She has strong beachy vibes as fitting for a fisher. A soggy girl for sure :D The wig really completes her look! I can absolutely see her out in the water, getting a good haul of seafood for herself and the clan!

Is it any surprise i pick the most flowery tundra there is? But omg I love Blossom!! She rocks the nature primal, and i love how all the flower apparel looks on her! Her orange dress really stands out on her too! And the vine makes for a really nice touch, really selling that like, she’s just one with the plants hehe And her smoke gene also blends in nicely, and gives her an aromatic feel! I bet she smells lovely c:

Mint..an ice cream making snapper... also green... my hEART!! I love her so much omg. Her outfit is adorable and not quite what I’d expect for an ice cream dragon, but she works out! It gives her a rather businesslike look almost? A dragon who knows what she’s doing! The fact she’s dating a chocolatier is beautiful and perfect too!! They’re both living their best lives now. And the two dragons look great with each other!

And last but definitely not least, Beetle! The murky yellow hues really look nice on him! I feel like the skin Vermin from 2019 Riot of Rot would look so good on him and fit his lore! (which is so cool btw! poor boy..but he rocks the look anyway! i love him. the tidbit about the glasses making his eyes more buglike was so good too haha) and i love the idea of a clan scribe! not all of my dragons are literate yet somehow i’ve overlooked this role myself! hm...

but yeah Beetle just is overall a really nice to look at tundra! tundra makes such good nature-y children!

faulkner, once feared across sornieth's seas as captain goldfang, now living out his retirement in relative peace.

faulkner landed in clan flygefisk's port after a vicious battle with a rival- he'd been badly wounded, and took it as a sign to hang up his hat and retire. his crew gave him a tearful goodbye, and he went to knock on the door of an old friend.

he'd mentored bluebird, the clan's merchant captain, once when she was young, and they'd met up again just a year or two ago. faulkner and his crew were fencing off some loot, and she took some off his hands (for a significant discount) with the promise he stay in touch.

faulkner is grizzled and scarred, his once golden mane now silver, but he still commands an air of authority and terror. truly frightening to behold. but under his battle scars and stolen jewels, he's got a good heart. he's really taken bluebird's own daughter, sandpiper, under his wing- he's always had a soft spot for kids.

even without bluebird's trust, he's a useful addition to the docks- troublemakers are much less inclined to make trouble under his glaring eye. the regulars know they can come to him if they need help with anything, and he's always got good advice.

5 dragon Lair review for @flygefisk​! (kender #14538)

Let me just start by saying that I love your clan :3 your lore is wonderful! Especially the Laughing Unicorn, the dragons seem very sweet and it is a place that mine would love to visit some day

Creme is just very good and I bet that he makes the best mochas in all of the dragon world. His sweet personality and appearance are just made better by the fact that he likes his coffee bitter and dark! It gives him depth.

You have so many dragons with plague eyes and they are super gorgeous, which reminds me that I must get some for myself! It was hard to pick a favorite Plague eye’d, but Tiger has a perfectly ominous description, and the art was really cool as well, so he is my favorite of this bunch!

Then there are the eternal hatchlings, all of which are very very cute, and I love how they fit in so well with your lore! Westley, however, has to be my favorite. He is super cute and the art in his description completes his character so well! 

Then there is your hibernal den - and wow, this was a real treat to go through. Your beetlejuice, halloweentown, and little shop of horrors fandragons made me REALLY happy, they are all amazing!!! As were the two cryptids, and your fairies and starry themed dragons. (Especially Caelum, because that is the constellation that I named myself after! my name is Cael :) 

Of your hibernal den, sadly I forced myself to stick to the 5 dragon maximum, and ended up choosing Rien. They are extremely pretty, I love how this dragon looks. Not to mention, their lore is very sweet and I love both that they are a kind hearted trickster, and the fact that they are friends with some of your other dragons! It was very nice to see that :)

Last but definitely not least is my favorite out of all of your dragons - Doctor.

I am a sucker for doctor dragons, particularly if those doctors are. . . ominous in their craft, as Doctor is. Not to mention, their description made me laugh really hard. I love this dragon, and I wish that I could like them more than once!

All of your dergs were wonderful to see, and I love how many trans dragons you had!!! :) keep up the amazing work
