I completed the fantasy barn based on the "Modelling Workshop" article in White Dwarf 140, August 1991. The structure is foamcore covered with craft wood sticks and coffee stirrers, based on matboard with sand and pebbles, painted with inexpensive craft paints. To keep with the 1991 theme I used simple wood turned barrels from a craft store and carved some lines to suggest staves, instead of using 3D printed models. The basing includes the same types of Woodland Scenics ground foam flocking I would have used in 1991. My one concession to more modern materials was to add a variety of premade static grass tufts.

This project started as a community challenge from the Summon Lesser Maker channel, one of the YouTubers keeping Mordheim alive online.

It’s Moonshine’s stump!!

This turned out better than I expected to be honest, and I only got one (1) hot glue burn when putting it all together

Finally got around to making some risers out of foamcore and hot glue. Thanks to Dollar Tree for having foam board in stock finallyyyyy.

I realized the tiered groupings are way more visually pleasing to me (though this photo isn't necessarily the best argument, could be arranged prettier) plus it makes space for two more dolls 🫣 AND a bunch of heads. Ok I might put the heads away somewhere else 😅

The first version I tried was not sturdy enough but doubling up the top layer and adding a front bar on this one makes it good enough for me. I needed the front to be open like that so I could fit the large circular base of the doll stands under it a bit because they're so big.

I need to do this three more times now 😵‍💫
