‭1 Kings 3:5-143 (GNT‬). “That night the Lord appeared to him in a dream and asked him, “What would you like me to give you?” Solomon answered, “You always showed great love for my father David, your servant, and he was good, loyal, and honest in his relation with you. And you have continued to show him your great and constant love by giving him a son who today rules in his place. O Lord God, you have let me succeed my father as king, even though I am very young and don't know how to rule. Here I am among the people you have chosen to be your own, a people who are so many that they cannot be counted. [9] So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, and so he said to him, “Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again. I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. And if you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.”
“Put God’s Priorities First” by In Touch Ministries:
“If we trust God and seek to honor Him in our decisions, we’ll have the chance to see Him work mightily.”
“Imagine if God showed up and said, “What do you want? Ask, and I’ll give it to you.” How would you answer? Most of us would ask for loved ones’ safety, enough money to meet our needs, or a long, healthy life. Solomon may have been tempted to name something similar—but he made a different request. What he wanted was an understanding heart so he could serve God’s people well.
Solomon’s life was full of personal needs and desires not so different from our own. But when given the opportunity to ask God for anything, he prioritized the Lord’s concerns. God was so pleased with the request that He gave Solomon not only wisdom but riches and honor as well (1 Kings 3:13)! This encounter foreshadows Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you” (Matthew 6:33).
God won’t necessarily give wealth, influence, or long life because we put His priorities first, but He will always be faithful to provide all we need according to His purposes. Solomon’s heart was set on seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness, and the Lord honored that in a multitude of ways—both tangible and intangible. When we make God’s priorities ours, we too will have the chance to see Him work mightily in our life.”

Changed by the Word of GOD | Eric Gilmour [James 1:18]
LOL this is cracking me up [1:22] this is #not what you think, I am laughing about how quickly GOD is saying as a course correction.
the experience of an extravagant kind is a little bit above #CHRIST as revealed in Scripture, but that's not true; nor is it equal to Scripture or just a little below Scripture.
What saves ppl is CHRIST revealed in Scripture & what we need is HIM as HE is revealed in Scripture.
James 1:18 | ¹ HE chose to give us 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 of #truth, that we'd be a kind of firstfruits of HIS creation.
I think we have circled the wagons on this topic for today, seriously we walked #around this topic of GOD's being & #truth being #intertwined & unalterable/inseparable, and that is our #problem—we're still in shifting sand when we look away from GOD at other thoughts/hurts/past as tho any of the #snapshot of our lives as it is currently is the final outcome.
It's not, GOD said to me a few weeks ago, wait until the end..LOL & I'm like what??? YOU just confirmed me into YOUR family!!!

Hey maybe that's why GOD started us kids out in being traumatized with OT, Oliver Twist, like the kid left out in the field, unwanted & abandoned to die..
Ezekiel 16:4-5 Jerusalem’s Unfaithfulness ⁴ On the day of your birth your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water for cleansing. You were not rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.
⁵ No one cared enough for you to do even one of these things out of #compassion for you. Instead, you were thrown out into the open field, cause you were #despised on the day of your birth.
And this links up with James 1:27, which I was led to study or pair together earlier in thought of pursing GOD [Romans 9:31-32]
Like a giant chain reaction that takes place just from following GOD around, trying to be where ever HIS Presence is--rather than like a slave doing what he thinks will suffice for his MASTER, we're like the #nursery rhyme about the little #lambs that followed Mary everywhere she went ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ ♭ ♮ ♯ 🎼🎵🎶
..................................................................................... John 10:27-28 | MY sheep listen to MY voice; I know them, & they follow ME. ²⁸ I give them eternal life, & they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of MY hand. .....................................................................................
James 1:27 | Hearing and Doing Pure & undefiled religion before our GOD & FATHER is this: 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 #𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘀 & widows in their distress, & to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
I am looking for a job and this thought kept coming up, "I should do something for GOD" like Andrew Klavan driving around LA in his newly minted corvette & he generously says:
GOD YOU have given me so much! What can I do for YOU now?! 'Acknowledge that you're Christian.'
What?! YOU can't be serious, that would be career ending suicide!!! As the story goes AK did come out of the Hollywood closet & puts the Holy Wood as focal point of all his work.
Also this lady was recorded on the local news as saying the way we treat the most vulnerable in our society [#orphans/homeless/widows] is a reflection of the depravity/downward spiral of our morality [fraying of the fabric that binds us all together, kind of like that idea of the #acorn, when we realize compassion starts with a keen understanding that we're no different though all our present circumstance says otherwise.
#nailedit
LOL my last job was told to follow people around, #follow! #follow!! I was like what, every time GOD put me in a strange role where it felt like I was #reverting back to my #childhood again — the not knowing what to do & having to ask for everything
We're going back to Eden, the perfect place with GOD at the center of our lives. I do have to say I always thought it strange how Noah reacted so #vehemently against his son for looking upon his nakedness... today it clicks Love covers a multitude of sins [1 Peter 4:8]
Ham was wrong to focus on the bad.

May 11th-we are always in a position where God is nearby and all we need do is reach out to Him. He is indeed, the God of second chances.

2 Chronicles 12: 12 And when he humbled himself, the anger of the LORD turned away from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and also conditions were good in Judah. The Hebrew story is repetitive, and presents a theme not unlike our own. There are times under faithful leaders who turn the nation back to God, and times where the leaders turn away from God. Like Rehoboam, whom God has given…

Follow the Leader
11 In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony, 12 and the people of Israel set out by stages from the wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud settled down in the wilderness of Paran. 13 They set out for the first time at the command of the Lord by Moses. 14 The standard of the camp of the people of Judah set…

Jeremiah 44:13 Punishment For Living In Egypt
For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. Jeremiah 44:13 Choosing to live in some specific location will often bring on certain blessings and certain challenges. Living on the coast of an ocean may not have any tornadoes, but it will have hurricanes. People have a freedom to live where they desire and often…

Seven Blessings of Faith
Hebrews 11:6  states that, “it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” This verse underscores the pivotal role of faith in our relationship with the LORD. Let’s look into seven blessings that radiate from a life grounded in faith. 1. Divine Pleasure: The very essence of faith lies…

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:15‭-‬23‬ (‭ESV‬‬). “For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”
“Waiting with Joy” Devotional 16th December:
“Be Thankful for Someone” By Words of Hope:
“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” (v. 16)
“Over the years I’ve tried to cultivate the habit of starting each day by thinking of someone to be thankful for. I’ll be brushing my teeth, or shaving, and I’ll think: Who should I be thankful for today? Once I even put a sticky note on the bathroom mirror: Be Thankful for Someone. God has sprinkled so many wonderful people into my life, and being grateful for them only seems right and proper. Beyond that, gratitude has a way of making me feel peaceful and calm. What a pleasant way to begin the day.
Again and again in his epistles Paul thanks God for friends and fellow believers: “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,” he says to believers in Philippi (Phil. 1:3). Here in Ephesians, Paul says, “I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” Paul is generous with gratitude.
If you’re anything like me, you have a lot of people to be grateful for. Some people we can name—parents, teachers, mentors. But many are anonymous—the fellow who held the door open for you, the driver who allowed you to merge into traffic, the hospice nurse who was so loving to your grandfather in his last days.
Your Advent activity for today may seem profoundly simple, but its effect can be simply profound: Be thankful for someone.”

April 27th-How would our families respond if we, as men, took the same steps as Josiah?
2 Kings 23:1Then the king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem. 2The king went up to the house of the LORD and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the…
