You found it very amusing and at least you were not bored since your boyfriend, his father and his younger brother were in the garden, sprinkling the plans, spudding and harvesting the fruits and vegetables of the spring. The garden wasn't too big and there wouldn't had been any other job for you so you'd stayed in the house. But it didn't bother you. You were happy to be here, in Busan, visit his family and see him to rest a little. The comeback was over and they'd been done with the promotion too so the band had got a few days off that the oldest of the Maknae line had taken advantage of. He'd decided to take you here and to tell the truth you absolutely hadn't resisted. You loved this place. It was so refreshing for your soul you couldn't even describe it.

- Oh, look! - you followed the direction which his mother's finger showed. There was a picture of her two sons as they were fighting with each other. Both of them were very small in the picture. - I was the one who took the photo. I should've taken them apart like a good mother but I couldn't resist and took this picture. - she laughed and you joined in. - They were always fighting. Since the little one learned how to walk they were always arguing with each other. It might be surprising for you but Jimin was the one who started these debates. There was no exception. The smaller just mocked him. He's  always wanted to be like his big brother. And none of them could lose. I'm wondering why isn't my hair fully grey by now. - she chuckled as she looked down at the photo lovingly. - It's surprising again but Jimin was the one who calmed down, and be wiser by the time though he was the one who was the most heated, and the most aggressive in the fights. Though if I'm thinking about that he is very energetic now too. - you giggled widely as you nodded. It was true.

- I have to admit it. - you looked up at her and the woman had given you a warm smile before she turned the page again. You sighed a little as you watched her kind, soft features. It wasn't the first time you met her but you had to admire it every single time how much she and her oldest son were similar to each other. You were sure about that Jimin inherited his kind heart, his smile, and his bright personality from her as well. You were about to look down again but a familiar voice made your head to turn towards the door.

- What are the two dearest women of my heart doing? - a wide smile lightened up on your face as you watched your boyfriend walked through the door, made his way to you. There was a clearly visible blush on his face, sweatdrops were pouring down on his forehead and he was gasping for air slightly. His blonde hair was as disheveled as it could be possible and his clothes were dirty from the work in between the plans but his eyes were sparkling with joy and love as he looked down at the two of you. You and his mother moved away from each other a little bit, made a place to sit for him. He gave a peck on his mother's cheek and a sweet kiss on your lips as he sat down between you. - So? - he asked again and the next minute his mother placed the photo album on his lap. His plump lips formed an "oh" as his gaze got through the pages faster than you could expect.

- I remember this! - he shouted suddenly, point at a picture of him. You didn't notice it before. You'd been too focused on what his mother had said. The picture should had been  taken in the kindergarten but you weren't sure. It was only him in a cow costume which was made-up by a black and white spotted overall and a cute little hat with a tiny, orange bow. In the middle of his dress there was a little cow. He couldn't be more than six years old. You thought but you stayed silent. You were afraid you might start to cry if you start to speak. It was too adorable and yet the recognition hit you. Because that cute, little mochi in that picture was sitting beside you and every time when you looked at him you could see the same glowing eyes, the same smile and the same, rosy, chubby cheeks. And when you looked at him you knew he loved you. You could see it in his dark irises, in the way he was breathing, in every single word he said. And you loved him as well. It was so real it amazed you.

- I wanted to be a lion but nobody let me. - he pouted as the memory came into his mind and you giggled now resting one of your hand on his shoulder. He was too cute.

- Believe me. You ARE a lion. - his mom laughed and she mussed up his hair a little. - Because there is no cow in this world who can roar as loud as you can. That's why I didn't let you. I wanted silence once in my life. - she said and all of you burst into a laughter in the next moment. You were home.

Kim Taehyung:

- Look at this Jagiya!! Wasn't I really cute back then? - you lift your gaze up from the stove and looked at the picture that your boyfriend was fluttering in front of you. It was a photo made about him at kindergarten, and you had to admit that it was absolutely sweet.

- You still are. - you answered as you turned around on your heels and gave a peck on his lips. He leaned forward immediately just to deepen the kiss but you pulled back within a few seconds. - Not now, big boy. - you laughed slightly saw how disappointed he was and couldn't help yourself. Let's just say he's got another kiss. - Seriously Tae. I don't want to burn the food. Go. Wash your hands. The dinner is almost ready. - his face lightened up in that moment you pronounced 'dinner' and you laughed again as you watched him run out from the kitchen probably to the bathroom. You shook your head a little with a light smile on your face and turned back to cook. He was a big child. But he was your big child after all.

It didn't take the food too long to be ready. You placed it on the table when Taehyung showed up in the doorframe.

- Come. - you said and he didn't need more invites. He jumped on the chair next to you and placed his lips against now your blushed cheek before he started to eat.

- Thanks for the dinner, Jagi! - he showed his boxy smile to you, his mouth full with meat.

- Do you like it? - you asked curiously. It was the first time you made this meal and though Jin had explained to you how to do it  you were still a little bit nervous.

- It's amazing! I have the best girlfriend in the world! - he grinned at you but you didn't see it since you'd buried your face in your palms embarrassed. - She's beautiful! She can sing, she can dance, she can cook and she has the most gorgeous personality in this universe. - he rehearsed your skills and you felt how fast your face became more and more reddish. - Aish, when did I get this lucky? - he chuckled as he pet the top of your head. You whimpered out a soft 'stop it' under your breath and he laughed again. After this little incident the two of you were eating in silence for a while but in the end V was the one who started to speak again.

- So did you like that photo of me? - you simply nodded as an answer as you put another spoonful soup in your mouth. It was a mistake. It was. - Good. Because our sons will probably look like this. - you choked on your food as the words left his mouth and you started to cough uncontrollably with your hand in front of your mouth. He seemed like he didn't get your reaction because he patted your back with an absolutely innocent expression on his face.

- Pardon...? - you asked with a confused tone in your hoarse voice as you blinked at him. He smiled again his hand still on your back.

- Our sons. We'll have five of them. - your eyes only grew bigger hearing what he'd just said. That it surprised you wasn't even a phrase to express what you felt. You put down the spoon slowly and straightened your back.

- Excuse me Mr. Kim Taehyung but do I look like a brood-mare to you? -you asked him harshly but you only faked the madness. Actually you found the situation quiet funny though you were still surprised. You two hadn't spoken about marriage or family before maybe because you'd  been living together for two years only. Anyway he seemed like he'd taken your actions seriously because he put down the spoon as well, and he bowed his head down but you still could see how the tears were starting to well up in his eyes.

- You don't want me as your kids' father do you...? - he asked so quietly you barely could hear what he'd said. You gasped for air in realization and dropping everything that had been in your hand you pulled him into a tight hug.

- Oh, TaeTae! I was just joking. Of course I want you to. - he looked up at you, still teary eyed but with a hoping expression on his face. You smiled down at him. - To be honest I wouldn't be able to imagine a better father than you.

- Do you mean it, Jagi? Please tell me you mean it. - his begging sight was so heartbreaking to you that you had to buried your face into his shoulder, covering the tears in the corner of your eyes from him.

- Of course I mean it, Silly. - there was a little silence in the room before you started to speak again. - But we won't have five children.  

- But whyyyyy...? - he pouted and you had to look away from him. You couldn't let you to give up but his puppy-look-like face and his chocolate-brown eyes were too much for you to deal with.

- Because I don't wanna be a housewife. - you said honestly feeling a little bit embarrassed. You didn't know how to express your feelings or thoughts.

- But I'm an idol. We would've enough money.

- Taehyung. I can't expect you to work out your soul. I cannot expect this to anyone. - your boyfriend's mouth split open and he really seemed like someone who is ready to a fight but you called for silence. - Hush, Tae. I'm the one who's speaking now. - he pouted again but he shut his mouth so you continued. - Beside the fact that I'm literally an energy bomb and I want to do my job, there's the thing that if you worked all the time you would never see your children. - he grimaced. You got a point. He had to admit it. - What do you think how our kids would feel if they couldn't see their dad? What do you think how YOU would feel?

- Bad. - he said but you knew it was more than 'bad'. He was so family-orianted, so kind hearted. You were sure he would feel horrible. And you didn't want that.  - Then...what about...four?

- Three. - you just rolled your eyes but nodded. You couldn't resist to add  little comment anyway.

- But we'll have girls too.

- Two.

- Aish, Jagiya why are doing this to me? - he fretted but you could tell he wasn't really annoyed. He was just playing around.

- Because I'll be the one who'll caring them for nine months and who'll give them birth. In other words I'll be the one who'll do the lion's share. - you winked while you gave him one of the sweetest kisses he could ever ask for. And another one. And another one.

- I should propose to you... - he said between the kisses.

- Yes. You should. - you smiled unconsciously before you gave him another kiss.

- But I don't want tooooo!! - Taehyung's answer was not more than a slight chuckle as he forced the whimpering maknae to sit down next to you on the couch. Your eyes meet his desperate gaze and you had to try really hard to not to laugh. You didn't want to make the situation more awkward for him but his reaction was already funny itself to you.

- Oh my!! Don't be so shy! - this time it was Jimin who talked as he ruffled the younger one's hair but your boyfriend didn't seem like he was enjoying this kind of treatment because he moved away from Chimmy's hand while he crickled his nose.

- Speak for yourself, shorty! - the youngest of the team ducked so Jimin's fist hit the pillow behind him only. - I just got her into this relationship with me. I don't want to risk it. - you couldn't help but laughed. He looked at you slightly annoyed so you lift your hands up above your head as an apology.

- Kookie. I won't leave you because of a video. - you said confident but there was a quick reply.

- Say this again after you've seen it. - you only put out your tongue at V who -of course- was grinning widely. In the fact the boy next to you still hesitated.

- Jungkook-ah! You lost the game. You have to show it to her anyway. - Jungkook took an eye at Jimin as he was about to kill the poor dancer but he didn't say anything. He took out his phone from his pocket, went to youtube and after a few seconds clicked on the video that'd been mentioned before. The screen lightened up for a moment and you leaned forward. You watched it carefully. You didn't want to miss a single moment of it. And you didn't. You saw clearly as your boyfriend's closely fetus-version turned up on the phone.  Your eyes widened your mouth gaped open, forming a soft "aw". He was around 12 or 13. You weren't sure. He seemed tall at the age you'd placed him but his face was too chubby, too cute and too baby-looking to you to think him older. His hair was longer than now. The lower locks of his dark hair were visibly tickling the back of his neck. His quiff covered his forehead and his eyebrows as usually but his skin was tanned. In total his face looked very similar and yet different to the Jungkook you knew at the same time. The boy on the screen wasn't shivering nor biting his lip but you could tell he was super-duper nervous. As you saw he was on the edge of fainting. And than the boy started to sing. You saw at the corner of your eyes as the "old" Jungkook next to you bowed down his head in embarrassment, but you didn't really can understand why. It was surprising for you too but the Kook in the video hadn't have a bad voice at all. Actually it was quiet similar to the older one's. It was a little bit shaky, unsteady and he didn't find the perfect sounds every time but it wasn't bad. It only needed a little bit of training. The clip was short and when it was over your boyfriend threw the phone away immediately. You looked up confused just to faced with that no one was there except the two of you. You'd been so into the video you hadn't even noticed when the living room had gotten empty. You turned your head towards the boy next to you. His face was burning up and he bit down on his bottom lip. Your heart melted in the moment you saw him like this.

- Oh Bunny. - you sighed reached a hand out to one of his blushed cheeks. - There's nothing to be shamed of. I've found it really cute beside the fact that your voice wasn't bad at all back then. And if it was that wouldn't matter either. I love you with as much of my heart as before. - you said and you were about to continue but you didn't get a chance to do it. Because as the words'd left your mouth the golden maknae lifted his head up and before you could say anything he faulted himself forward right on you. Your back made a contact with the couch's soft textile and you stared at your boyfriend shocked who was on the top of you now. Actually he was sitting on your lower stomach but he leaned forward and relied his hands on the two sides of your head just to got most of his weight off of you.

- Good. - his voice was no more than a whisper and his eyes were darker than usual so the thought of resist didn't even get in your mind. You could see something in his huge pupils which made your heart to beating as hell and calmed you down at the same time. - Because now I'm going to make you forget  your name too. Don't even speak about that stupid little video.  Deal? - he smirked, bowed down his head just to bit the sensible skin of your ear. You nodded as a slight whimper escaped your lips but you knew you didn't really have a choice. So you just relaxed under his touch and let yourself to enjoy the treatment he was about to give to you.

What I like about them

well. that’s really hard to answer. to quote you, avery when I mentioned having trouble w this question, “I like him because he’s Tezz”

He’s everything that normally annoys me but done well to where it doesn’t?

cocky arrogant tech savvy bastard. but he has extremely strong sense of morals. Like boy took one look at the red sentients and was immediately ready to fight a war by himself and dedicated himself to being a one man rebellion.

What I dislike about them

how long it took me to answer the first question, he’s not my normal type, like for real I think his archetype normally annoys me, but for some reason the exact way he’s written gets around that.

Favourite moment

the entirety of the episode “Lord of the Kharamanos” Tezz making friends with tromp and once again showing his strong sense of morals with his absolute refusal to leave the kharamanos alone to fight the Vandals. I think this ties into why I love him so much, normally his archetype would have been the one willing to leave them to fend for themselves, helping them is a risk, but Tezz doesn’t even consider leaving, and is insulted by Vert considering it for even a moment.

Least favourite moment

The best quality version of his introductory episode on youtube is cut into 2 parts and the uploader split it /right/ in the middle of dialogue.

An interesting AU for this character

This is pretty general for bf5 as a show, but in the the bf5 fused webisode “Cold Fusion” Sage is shown making an instruction type video for if they lose, somebody else could potentially take up the fight, and she deletes it at the end as Vert tells her the war will end with them. But what if she hadn’t. And then. what if they had lost? Tezz wasn’t part of the team yet, if the bf5 lost before he joined, but someone else (Grace?) found the video and picked up the fight, and then he joined? I don’t have much thought (well actually I have more than I’d like to admit) put into this idea, but ever since seeing that 50 second webisode, I’ve had that hmm what if idea in my head, and the only way I can really “see” it happening is if there was a similar situation to the shadowzone episode, where our bf5 meet the group that took up the fight when they died, team led by grace, with tezz, zen, and the rest of the group is ocs, but if this were a plotline I’d love for one of the team to be one of Agura’s brothers who came looking for her when she dropped off the face of the planet.

umm I was really into storm hawks at the same time as I was into bf5, tho bf5 has withstood the test of time, so combining the 2 is something I’ve put some thought into before, but really w bf5′s setup of being able to go to different dimensions battlezones writing a crossover for really any show wouldn’t be hard.

Boy had a Bad Home Life, the boy was like 9 when he got himself stranded in a battlezone, and wanted to get back to earth because it’s where he’s from, but he /never/ mentions getting back to people. like it’s one thing if his parents just let him do whatever and he was experimenting in his free time, but he didn’t try to find anyone when he got back. and he immediately was ride or die for the bf5. the show probably just didn’t have time to touch on it, but with what we were given I can not see him having a good relationship with his family.

Uh Bumbleby without a doubt. they’re the slow burn we never get with queer couples, and while they’re not “canon” yet, that’s because they’re a slow burn, and they’re getting proper developement, but even so, them having feelings for each other is canon, to a point where Arryn Zech, Blake’s va got a motherfucking bee tattoo. like they’re /the/ main couple of rwby, Arryn mentioned Yang as someone who was in love with blake at a panel and had to be reminded to mention Sun. that’s cast tho, their interactions in show?

Yin/yang symbolism where they’re both both at different times, beauty and the beast allusions, character with abandonment issues/character who has a tendency to run, excellent fighting synergy? I could literally talk about how much this ship means to me for hours (you’ve heard a lot of it sporadically ave) and it truly means a lot to me, I’m not normally a romancey person, but something about a show I was into before knowing (or really admitting to myself) that I was queer giving me that rep? in 2 of my favorite characters? I’m used to seeing shows w queer rep bc I heard there was rep and decided to check it out, but Bumbleby seemingly happened around me already here. they’re not a queer bait. one of them isn’t going to die. and they love each other so much.

Listen. no other possible ship for blake (or yang) holds a candle (ha sweet burning the candle reference) to bumbleby. I’m not gonna go into it explicitly, bc the person who sent this ask isn’t there yet >:) but (as much as irl, friendship is just as important as romantic relationships, and I hate the idea of romance being “more”) the show has built up yang and blake in such a way that if anyone else wanted to be even considered they’d have to compete with the other. if you’re considering getting into rwby, Heroes and Monsters was the ep that a lot of the fan base realized that hey, they’re actually doing bees? and that’s bc there’s a scene that is so powerful with the 2 of them. from a storytelling perspective no other ship has the substance to compete with the bees.

Blacksun. Blake and Sun work better as friends than they ever could as romantic partners, Sun has feelings for Blake, but they’ve always been one sided, and the only time he’s been on screen that didn’t have me rolling my eyes or wishing he’d leave blake alone so her parents who she hasn’t seen in years could maybe get some of the screentime he’s hogging was when he was recovering from being injured and blake is all “this is why I had to leave, my friends get hurt bc of me” and he was like “that’s our decision to make, I’d do it again, and I know Yang would do the same” like yeah he continues to flirt while in menagerie (sp?), but as soon as he realizes that she didn’t run off to fight the white fang alone he spends his time trying to get her to go back to her team.

Everything seemed to be so boring lately for some reason.

Kaminari had no idea why was that. Maybe he did. Perhaps it was because of the summer break? Probably yes, but was that a reason for his classmates to make plans without him or no plans at all? He ran a hand through his hair as he continued to walk down the sidewalk, whistling a melody of some new catchy song under his breath. It wasn't that nice and he didn't even like it. He just had the urge to whistle it. That's how it is with most of the weird songs today, right?

Then, out of sudden, he noticed something. It was there, hanging freely on a not much used fence, being lifted up by the wind. Seems like the tape which it was sticked onto the fence with was really strong. It was a poster. And not a normal poster. Definitely not.

It was a poster, propagating a competition of some sorts. Kaminari took a step closer to it, so he could see it better. His eyes wandered across all the letters on the poster. With each sentence that he read to himself, his eyes seemed to light up more and more with happiness. “Nice.” he muttered to himself as he kept staring at the poster curiously.

Perhaps this will awaken some of his friends. He smiled a little as he pulled out his phone from the pocket of his jeans excitedly, opening it and then taking a photo of the poster quickly. He went to the class group chat, his fingers starting to gently tap on the keyboard.

He stared at the screen for a moment before replies from his classmates started to appear.

momo is my cute gf: um.. Kaminari, most of us already has groups. for example, we have a group with the girls already. right?

jirou is my cute gf: yes, we do. besides, someone sent this poster to the chat before. I think it was a few days ago. so, we split into groups after that. maybe you didn't notice it?

banquet of darkness: I think there are only few people left (like two or three) that aren't in a group yet, you could ask them.

sugar: Ojiro said himself that he won't participate for personal reasons. and Tooru said she would like to take part in it, but.. she went to a vacation.

pinky: there's also Bakugou left. he didn't say why he doesn't want to participate though. such a shame! :(

There were a few other replies from others, but Kaminari already had his phone back in his pocket. His happy mood was gone as fast as he got it. So he didn't have anyone who he could enter the contest with. It was quite sad. How come he didn't notice that it was already discussed in the chat?

He let out a quiet sigh as he continued to walk into his (or more like his parents') apartment. They were never home. Like Mina said though, it was really a shame. He seriously wanted to participate in the contest.

The blond haired boy flopped down on the bed in his bedroom, already wearing his yellow pajamas with black thunderbolts on them.

“Dammit.” he muttered to himself quietly as he turned to the right side. He was now staring at a poster of his favorite band which was hanging on the beige colored wall. Wasn't there really anyone? Ojiro didn't want to take part in it for personal reasons. Tooru was on a vacation with her family. And..

Bakugou.

Bakugou didn't have any special reason why he didn't want to participate. Of course! He was just too angry to care about it.

Denki grabbed his phone from the desk next to his bed and quickly searched for Bakugou's number. When he found it, one half of his lips curled up as he started to type.

denki: hey bakubro! want to do some music with a pal?

And that's where it all started.

“Listen, you imbecile, I know you called me over here for music purposes, but why exactly?” the other blonde huffed as he entered the room of the obviously more excited and interested teen.

It was another day, afternoon to be exact. Kaminari told Bakugou to come over to his house. For music purposes. He was actually really surprised his "sort of friend" seriously came. He thought he would get a reply that would sound like "fuck off, sparky" or "don't bother me, you idiot" but there they were, standing in his room now. It made Denki feel happy for some reason.

He gave the other blonde a grin as he gestured to his bed - wanting him to sit, obviously. Bakugou just groaned and then shook his head, declining the offer. Soon he sat down on the floor though, resting his back against the bed. “Answer me.” he said afterwards as he watched Dennis walk across the room. It seemed as if he was looking for something.

Kaminari chuckled quietly. “Wait and you'll see.” he responded a bit too calmly before he stopped walking. Finally. He glanced at a spot beside his closet and there it was! His favored black electric guitar he haven't played on for quite a long time. He gently took it into his hands. “Wow. I don't remember it being so heavy.” he said, glancing at Bakugou for a moment.

The said boy was quiet. He only continued to watch Kaminari's actions. It was a little weird. Usually, he would maybe shout or demand the answer but he didn't. Perhaps he really was curious about what Kaminari wanted to do. The silence didn't last very long though after Bakugou noticed something. “If you have a fancy looking guitar like that, where is the amplifier thing you should connect it to?”

Kaminari looked around the room with a shrug. “I have a mini amp. Not sure where I left it though.” he responded as he gently slid his fingers across the strings. Because it didn't have the amplifier, it was quiet, but Kaminari didn't seem to mind it and neither did Bakugou.

“Dumbass,” he snorted as he turned his gaze away from the boy with the guitar, “will you finally tell me what do you want to do? I don't have that much time to waste.”

Denki sat down fast next to Bakugou, careful not to hit him with the guitar. “Oh, come on. I bet all you have to do at home is watch cute animal videos while eating some of that shitty food you like.” he teased as he rested his back against his own bed. “Anyways, you do read messages in the class chat, right?” he questioned curiously, tilting his head slightly.

“Do I seem like that kind of person?” Katsuki asked back, his voice telling Kami that he obviously was getting more angry because of the fact that he wasn't being straightforward at all.

“I thought so,” he chuckled before fully glancing at the other blonde, “Well, yesterday I sent this photo of a poster propagating.. uh.. a contest. And because everyone else in the class already has groups and you don't and Ojiro and Tooru can't go for some reason, I just thought it would be nice if you would be my partner or something for the competition? I mean, you don't have any special reason for not going, do you? Because that would be a shame and I really really really want to take part in that comp-” he was shushed by Bakugou's hand that was put on his lips.

“Fine, so you want me to be your partner for a musical contest just because there isn't anyone else you could be with?”

“Ye-, well wait not exactly. I.. uh.. Wanted to get to also know you better? The fact that you're the only one without a group or a partner made it better and gave me the opportunity to ask you, so.” Denki flashed a grin in the angry boy's direction, hoping that he would agree. “What do you say?”

Bakugou gave him a sharp glare. “No. Fucking. Way.” he began to stand up, dusting his baggy pants a little. “Is that all you wanted?”

Kaminari put his guitar away, a sad look in his eyes. “Bakugou! Please? I seriously want to be part of the competition! You're the only one who can help me!” he sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, looking up at the other teen.

“I said no. Are you deaf? Take part in it alone, for all I care.” he replied, not even bothering to look at the other. He started to walk to the door of the room.

Kaminari should have probably expected that the other wouldn't be convinced so easily. It wasn't a surprise, really. Then why was he so upset about it? When he noticed Bakugou was already at the door, he quickly stood up and walked towards him, grabbing his wrist. Dammit, what was he gonna say? What was it that always worked on him? Kirishima managed to convince Bakugou nearly everytime. If Kirishima can do it, then Kaminari can as well.

Katsuki turned to him with a softened look in his eyes, but his expression still seemed to be angry. “The fuck do you still want from me, you dumb idiot? I told you I won't be your partner for this. And nothing will change that.” he said, gritting his teeth a little afterwards. He didn't do anything about Kaminari's hand on his wrist though - what the heck? It was surprising.

Then it hit him. He remembered what would make Bakugou agree to the idea. He didn't bother to let go of his wrist as he lifted one corner of his mouth up. “Could it be.. That you're too afraid that you'll fail? Are you scared of losing to others? Or can you simply not sing or play the drums anymore?” Kaminari questioned, confidence in his eyes.

Bakugou blushed a bit im embarrassment as he shouted at the other: “That's not true, you moron! I can still do that music stuff! And like hell I'll ever lose to those other losers!”

“Prove it,” Denki smirked at him, “prove me that you're not scared and that you'll win the competition with me.”

“Fine! I'll enter that damn contest with you! But I am doing this because I want to, okay?!”

“Yeah! Of course, Bakugou.”

“Do you know how to write a proper song, Bakugou? I have never seen you write one.”

“I do!”

“You sure about that?”

“Of course! Just watch me!”

Katsuki growled quietly as he held the pencil tightly in his hand, staring at the paper placed on the desk in front of him. Denki sat next to him on another chair, watching him with a raised brow. “I don't think you're really capable of that-” he said, unsure. He didn't want to piss the other off.

It was a few days after Bakugou declared that he will join the competition with Kaminari. They have finally decided to do something with the song they should write for it. But it wasn't going very well.

“I told you I can fucking do it!” he huffed while continuing to stare at the paper intensely as if his whole life depended on it.

“Yeah, but it kind of doesn't look like that. I mean, all you did for the past hour is stare at the paper but you wrote nothing on it.” Kaminari snickered quietly, hiding his mouth with his hand to quiet down the sound more. “That kind of tells me you don't know how to do it.”

“Well, got any advice, smartass?” Bakugou spat, finally giving Kaminari a look full of something he didn't get to see much in Bakugou's eyes. It was.. Something unknown for sure. His crimson eyes were really telling him something he couldn't figure out - perhaps he was really that stupid after all. He just had no idea what it was. The usual anger was gone. His gaze wasn't even gentle. It felt almost too normal.

Kaminari nodded his head slightly. “You know about that one European song? I found it randomly on the internet when I was bored.” he replied while smiling slightly.

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “How the fuck am I supposed to know an European song?”

Denki shrugged his shoulders. “No idea. But it's about how to write a song!” he said, seeming satisfied with what he replied with.

“And how do you write a song then?”

“Step one,” Kaminari lifted up one of his fingers, “believe in it and sing it all day long.” Then he proceeded to lift up another one of his fingers before saying: “Step two, just roll with it.”

“..what's next?” Katsuki asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice, which made Denki smile more than before.

“The next lyric is: That's how you write a song!” he put his fingers down as he started to make the sound of the instrumental music in the song.

“That's it? That's fucking it?!” Bakugou asked, his curiosity and normal look in his eyes gone.

Kaminari just nodded his head with a shrug. “Sorry about that. Criticize the creator of the song, not me.” he grinned before he gently slid the paper over to the spot in front of him. He didn't have the pencil though. It was still being held in Bakugou's hand. “May I?”

Katsuki raised an eyebrow. “May you what?”

Kaminari reached his hand forwards, gesturing to the pencil in the other's hand with his head. “May I?” he repeated the previous question, chuckling quietly.

“Dammit, why are you being so polite, Sparky? It's just a pencil,” Bakugou said as he handed him the pencil, “besides, if you're going to use the advice from the song to actually write our piece for the contest, I am going to personally stab you in the chest 26 times.”

“I don't doubt that.” Kaminari gave him one of his lopsided grins as he took the pencil in his hand, playing with it for a while.

“Will you start writing something?”

“Hey! I have it in my hand for like four seconds only and you're already pushing me to write. Let me think!”

“Seven seconds. And I never thought that your brain could think.”

“Now that was just mean! Take that back!”

“No way, it's true. Admit it, Sparky, you can't think.”

“I can! You'll see!”

Kaminari started to think of the words to write down on the paper, clearly focused on his work.

And the sound which could be heard after was a quiet, soft laugh silenced with a hand. Bakugou's quiet and soft laugh. Silenced with his own hand.

“Is this thing on?” Kaminari questioned as he stood probably too close to the camera while looking into it. He was wondering if it works or not, but the loud 'beep' it did when he pressed another one of the buttons kind of scared him. If he didn't look at it only from the side the objective was at, maybe he could see he was currently being recorded.

Bakugou sat behind his drums, humming the tone of the song he thought of the melody and accords for and Kaminari made the lyrics of. His humming was quiet, almost inaudible. Maybe if Kaminari wasn't so focused on the camera, he would perhaps hear him.

“Don't you want to help me with this?” Denki pouted as he eyed the other teen while pressing another button. It let out a shorter beep. But nothing else.

“It's not that hard, dumbass. You're just standing on the wrong side while pushing the same button over and over. The beeps are going to be the death of me soon.” he responded, sounding slightly irritated.

The hopeless boy standing in front of the camera pouted yet again and moved behind the camera without a word. The silence didn't last long though. “I got it! Thanks Bakugou!” he showed his companion two thumbs up to which the other responded with a grunt and a few impatient beatings with his drumsticks together. “Now we're completely ready!”

Denki switched the camera on as he stepped in front of it (with few steps back this time) and grabbed his guitar. “So, um.. Hey! My name is Denki and this here,” he pointed at the clearly less excited person who sat on the stool, piercing the camera with his eyes, “is my good buddy Katsuki!” he grinned widely before he continued, “We would really love to present you our song which we made specifically for this contest,” he continued as he connected his mini amplifier to his black electric guitar, “and we hope that both the judges and the people who'll ever stumble upon this will like it!”

After his short speech, he gave a smile to Bakugou's direction. He beat with his sticks together again, three times specifically. “One, two, three!” he said with new sudden energy, his drumsticks beating into his drums now with a good force.

After a few seconds, Kaminari started to play his guitar gently, but the noise could still be heard really loudly because of the amplifier connected to it. There was a long while of only the two of them playing in perfect sync before Kaminari was the first one who started to sing their song. The rhythm was perfect. It had also amazing harmony - even if it was loud and more of a rock kind of song, it sounded.. So peaceful. The fact that they were being in sync the whole song make it so much better. And when Katsuki joined in with his beautiful voice, everything felt just right and how it should be at the moment. Basically, everything Denki did with Katsuki lately felt like it was perfect. Their practices were perfect. The lyrics of the song were perfect. The accords and the notes were perfect. Their voices were perfect. But Kaminari would have never make it without Bakugou. After all it just felt impossible.

It went by so fast. 'Almost too fast.' thought Kaminari, when Bakugou sang the last note of the song and the music slowly vanished into quietness. Then, Kaminari just waved at the camera and went towards it with the guitar still swinging from his neck. And he switched it off with a satisfied smile on his lips.

As he turned around to face Bakugou, his smile widened even more.

Bakugou's smirk not full of arrogance but something else and energy was definetely worth it.

It ended well. Not that well, but still great. They were second. Bakugou was not very satisfied about it at first, even if he still seemed to be happy about the result later. And Kaminari was glad to see that Bakugou was happy. It was almost as if their bond has grown much stronger since they decided to enter the competition. Maybe they were much better duo than either of them could ever imagine. And it was great in all honesty. They even started talking to each other and visting themselves from time to time. Like today. When Denki said he'd play a "serenade" for Katsuki and they had a bet that he couldn't, so they ended up there, in Kami's room. Kaminari glanced over at Bakugou who somehow ended falling asleep on his bed when he was playing on his guitar without an amplifier. Quietly. And he looked cute. Almost too cute and soft. Maybe that was something like a sleeping serenade.

Denki just smiled slightly as he slowly stood up and stretched before throwing a blanket over Katsuki who left no space for him on his own bed. Oh well. Sometimes you just gotta save your bed for cute angry people like Bakugou. Bonus points if their passion is music and being aggressive towards people because of insecurity. Yes, that was Katsuki Bakugou. But Denki Kaminari couldn't help but adore him. Adore him and his perfect everything.

alright. im gonna make a quick (long) post about my panic at the disco feelings and thatll be that!! let me live i know it isnt 2012 anymore

okay, so. this is all a theory and im sure a lot of you who follow panic may have heard about the whole this is gospel/emperors new clothes/say amen theory. heres my theory.  in order: la devotee, miss jackson, nicotine, say amen, this is gospel, hallelujah, emperors new clothes

i believe it begins with la devotee. this video is fully submerged in sacrificial objects and actions, and also where i believe the first possibility for brendon getting the devils key lays. brendon is literally shown with horns on a skull projected onto his face. its obvious that the little kid is being possessed, and i believe brendon is doing it. as we see in miss jackson, brendon exhaled smoke, and ill get into what i think that means when i cover miss jackson, but in short, i believe it was some demonic energy that he used to possess, and kill, the little kid. when he walks on screen at the end, i believe he may have grabbed the devils key, though thats a stretch lmao. 

next i think is miss jackson. brendon is in the hotel with the woman he killed in the beginning. the woman looks to be a leader of a cult, more specifically something dealing with sacrifices and probably demonic work. she is someone that is obviously very powerful, and this is the second of the two places that i believe brendon got the devils key.  in miss jackson, the hotel is after the decapitation of the woman; there’s the painting thing of the scene where her corpse exhales all that smoke. i believe that smoke could be what made brendon have the ability to posses the kid in la devotee. the smoke is probably what caused the woman to have the power in the first place, and brendon had some of it in him, as shown when he exhales it to her. the woman is probably making brendon possess the kid, or else he likely wouldn’t have blown the smoke back. maybe it was an initiation thing to be in the cult/to be the leader of the cult? she wouldn’t have let him cut her head off otherwise. i feel like this woman is also significant to brendon, as ill explain next.

alright. this is a stretch. hear me out. i think nicotine fits in. a song about nicotine, something you smoke, and comparing it to somebody? woman in miss jackson? a stretch, i know. but, think about it. i believe this serves as a backstory; maybe giving insight to the next part. i believe the woman is who he is talking about; “cross my heart, hope to die, burn my lungs, curse my eyes” and all the other lyrics like that. he also mentions how hes “losing to you, baby im no match, going numb, been hijacked.”, as though he’s been possessed, which.....sounds familiar. this one is a stretch. 

next, i think it is say amen. this one is pretty self explanatory, i think he got the key from either the woman in miss jackson or the kid (?) in la devotee. he does his thing and kills the people and then the girl knocks him tf out and steals the key, which i believe she then took and became a new miss jackson, but thats for another post. the heartbeat at the end begins, and we move on.

this is gospel is next. hes yknow, doin his thing, dying, and then he dies. the ropes are very significant to me. i believe that, since he dealt with the devil/evil spirits, the ropes in this is gospel are what are tethering him to god/the positive spirit in the afterlife. but inevitably, he lets go. he dies. rip brendon.

alrighty. heres hallelujah. hallelujah is purgatory. it looks scary enough to not quite be heaven, but certainly is not hell. when brendon isnt chasing the girl, who i think very easily could be god, hes inside. a lot of the time is spent beside a wall, which makes me very thankful to be raised catholic bc yknow what that is! it looks like a confessional!! where people confess sins!! so, my theory is that brendon is in purgatory bc uh, you messed with the devil, youre not going to heaven without confessing sins honey. so hes there, confessing sins, singing about “all you sinners stand up, sing hallelujah.”. hes really thinking he can get into heaven, hes chasing after god like its a lifeline, he really tries. everytime he gets close to her, the pathway turns, and he cant anymore. no one ever said it was easy to get to heaven.

now, we have her, emperors new clothes. brendon sees light at the start; his eyes light up, his face calms, he thinks “yes, ive made it! god forgave me!”. but then, the doors open; he falls and falls, falls until he hits the ground. he didnt make it; god didnt want him, hes in hell. he begins turning into a demon. i think this is likely because he dealt so much with evil spirits/cult actions/literal satan in his mortal life, and thus kept some of that energy or whatever in his vessel. that transfers into the afterlife. so, hes dancing around in hell as a demon now. the video progresses and he comes to accept the fact that hes a demon more and more until the end; he has wings and the lighting is red and ominous and he has this evil looking smirk and glint in his eyes. the screams of humans can be heard in the background and he isnt affected by it. it sounds like chains moving on a lift of sorts, which makes me believe he isnt just in the first layer of hell, oh no, i believe that he is on his trip to the 7th layer. he is literally glowing red, evil as all get out looking, and his mortal life just adds frosting to the cake. i believe that brendon is on his way to become satan, or possibly even already is. at the very end of the video for a split second as the screen is black, you see his glowing red lips and eyes, and that is literally haunting and eerie in a way i cant quite describe. its unsettling almost. 

unrelated but also theories: maybe dont threaten me with a good time and death of a bachelor. maybe he found his gf in say amen at the club and one night went out alone to the jazz place and was like “hey, not single anymore” but, who knows. dont threaten me caught my eye bc lust filled hooking up and gluttonous drinking, both of which are deadly sins. it adds to the hell concept, idk man its almost 1 am now.

1. Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?

troye is the youngest of nine sons, and thus the baby of the family even as a grown man. he’s closest with his second-oldest brother joey, who is an arts student and a Good Brother™ to troye, always ready to support his endeavors, even though troye isn’t really sure what he wants to do with his future.

florence has a twin but that situation is a big mess. antoni is one big repressed memory, but if florence was aware of who they were she’d probably consider them closest to her. achilles is sort of a sibling figure to her, in a best friend way. and honestly florence would love if they were actually her sibling.

3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

troye has a good relationship with his dad! there are very clear similarities between the two, (gail is like an Old Dad version of troye) and they’ve always gotten along.

florence never really got to know her dad, since her family situation was sort of loosely defined and cult-ish. he was moreso the guy who helped sire her rather than an actual father. florence doesn’t really have any relevant parental figures.

5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

troye: peppermint-flavored gum, his keys, his wallet full of pictures of his girlfriends, his phone, and probably a crumpled receipt from any store he’d been to that day.

florence: lint, a dollar coin. some quarters, and a cool rock she found on the sidewalk.

7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?

troye: losing loved ones, being forgotten. at several points he’s had a nightmare where he was inflicted with laila’s siren curse and it really messed with him. a lot of his nightmares take place on beaches at night and in other dark spaces.

florence: being abandoned, being betrayed. the latter is a relatively new fear for her, since she didn’t really allow herself to trust others until she started seeing laila and troye. ever since, she’s kind of paranoid that they might betray her someday, though she realizes it’s kind of an irrational fear.

9. Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?

not really! when he was growing up his parents would often be tight on money since raising nine kids isn’t the easiest on the wallet. nowadays, he isn’t super well off but he manages fine. he’s a bit of a compulsive spender.

florence wasn’t worth much as a kid and she isn’t worth much now considering she has no job and is also low tier scalie.

11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?

laila has thrown herself into danger several times and troye never stops being afraid for her. it’s bad for his blood pressure, honestly. as for a specific situation, i don’t really know in terms of what scared him the most, but probably something related to laila’s Blind Overconfidence.

florence was most afraid when her tribe was split apart, not really knowing what to do without them or how to really grow out of the rhetoric she was taught. she’d learn to adjust later, but that was a big point of confusion for her.

13. Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?

troye really hates the sight of blood, but doesn’t really react much aside from a lot of discomfort and disgust. he thinks things inside your body should stay there, ideally.

florence doesn’t care about and is unfazed by blood. being a man-eating monster’ll do that to ya.

15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?

troye believes money and happiness are fundamentally separate, and while he appreciates having money because it’s pretty useful when it comes to living and all, he thinks happiness really boils down to having people you care about, not how much you’re paid.

florence loves material possession and owning things, especially if her things are the shiniest out of other things. at the same time, she doesn’t really understand the concept of currency and generally just likes having nice stuff without realizing that nice stuff costs $$$

17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?

troye didn’t get attached to any toys but he did get really attached to his childhood blanket, which he brought everywhere. it’s lilac and remains in a closet in his childhood room.

florence didn’t really have any childhood toys.

19. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?

troye’s biggest flaw is that he’s kind of a pushover and he has a hard time saying no to anyone, and he hates to disappoint people. this leads to a lot of relationships that are really imbalanced.

he also gets really committed to people really fast, and while it’s not necessarily a bad thing it does tend to make a relationship seem rushed and when he reflects on it, he realizes he put a lot of expectations on said relationship.

florence, on the other hand, has a really hard time putting her trust in others and commitment is a really scary concept to her. because of this, the closest she’s really had to a “relationship” before laila and troye are a couple unrelated and meaningless flings.

she also didn’t really believe a relationship between a human and a siren could possibly sustain itself without falling apart before she started dating her partners, so that was kind of an obstacle.

21. If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?

troye’s first instinct is to think he did something wrong, and he has a hard time accepting it if the blame falls on someone else close to him.

florence is quick to blame anyone else for anything that happens to her, which leads to a lot of misplaced anger and grief. to be honest, anything truly traumatic most likely becomes one of florence’s repressed memories.

23. What does your character dislike in other people?

troye doesn’t like when other people have an inability to communicate in a relationship, a lack of respect for others wishes, or when people are extra-pessimistic.

florence doesn’t like elitism, which is kind of funny considering she grew up in a purity-cult. she also doesn’t appreciate when people are rude to her at all, and she holds grudges easily because of that.

25. How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?

troye has a really hard time blaming other people, especially if he knows them really well. if he becomes suspicious of someone it usually has to be based on really convincing evidence.

florence is always quick to place the blame on someone, though her suspicion is often based on gut instinct.

27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?

troye’s first instinct when it comes to confrontation is to try and talk out whatever it is the disagreement is based on. he doesn’t like violence at all and tries to avoid it when he can.

florence deals with confrontation via fists. meet her in the pit if you have a problem. ideally, if fists aren’t an option then maybe she’ll consider talking it out.

29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

as a little kid, troye dreamed of being the long-lost prince of a mysterious and vaguely european country. he also entertained being an actor with a for a while as an older kid with a more solid grasp of “realistic aspirations.” neither of those dreams really panned out.

currently, he’s kind of undecided in what he wants to do with his future.

florence really just wanted to be happy and carefree when she was older. this dream has come true, sort of. at least, after she got over all the complications of her life on the surface.

31. Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.

concept: troye is sitting on a couch with his gfs, watching a dumb romantic comedy. laila is loudly eating popcorn and making blunt commentary on the contrived elements of the movie. florence laughs at any and all physical humor. he is very in love with the both of them. he can’t stop smiling.

humorous concept directly lifted from florence’s charahub page: florence, sitting on a throne. she is being fanned by two admirers, and worshipped by two more. she is eating a raw onion, and no one questions it at all.

actual concept for florence: she’s spread out on the couch, comfortably wrapped in blankets. laila hands her a hot chocolate and gives her a quick kiss on the cheek. she isn’t wearing terrible and oppressive construct known as pants.

33. In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve?

troye had a big problem with being self-deprecating for a long time and nowadays he tries to focus on getting better instead of putting himself down, and takes criticism best as he can.

florence is either super defensive or super unaffected based on what is being criticized. if it’s something she’s legitimately insecure about, she becomes very defensive, but typically her inflated sense of confidence keeps that from happening.

35. How does your character behave around people they like?

troye is absolutely giddy hanging around his crushes, and he’s incredibly obvious to anyone with eyes. he tries his best to be subtle but “being subtle” in troye’s vocabulary is limited to not confessing his feelings on the spot. lucky for him, laila couldn’t read someone’s feelings for her if a brick was thrown at her detailing them, and florence shows interest from day one.

florence actually gets really frustrated if she genuinely likes someone. she finds it kind of scary, letting someone have any amount of sway over her decisions or infatuation.

37. Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status?

troye is more concerned about defending his honor, i think. he values his good reputation and doesn’t want people to think bad things about him.

florence couldn’t give a rat’s ass about what people think about her if they aren’t a close friend, and she doesn’t have much of a status to begin with, but she’ll defend herself to the people closest to her.

39. Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)?

troye was bitten by his family dog at age ten and cried for hours about it at the time. it didn’t really have any lasting affects though, and he loves that dog to death.

florence is regularly bitten by mosquitoes but otherwise she hasn’t been bitten by like, an actual mammal or anything. she was once stung by a jellyfish and it made her kinda pissed. how dare this evil bag sting her.

41. Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?

troye believes he should earn the things that he wants, and doesn’t want things to just be handed to him.

florence loves handouts, but she doesn’t pretend to deserve any of them. she kind of believes life is very luck-based, and she is very new to actually earning good things rather than just stumbling upon them.

43. Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them?

i can’t really think of one for troye, actually. i feel like he definitely had big influences in his life based on his relationships, particularly one with a boy he’d been pining over for a while that didn’t work out, but i don’t think there are any big names.

florence’s dependent figure is achilles, who is a very good friend to her and someone she really trusts to know the best for her, or at least advise her on how to live a healthy life.

44. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?

troye is jewish and has a sort of ambiguous on the idea of an afterlife. ideally, he’d like to believe that there’s somewhere huge and beautiful and grand that he’ll go after he dies, but he also doesn’t really know if that’s his actual belief or just what he’d like to happen. death doesn’t really scare him, but the permanence of it is sort of unnerving.

florence doesn’t really connect herself to a religion, but she was taught a belief in the greek gods and has an ambiguous belief in them. her belief in an afterlife isn’t very well-defined and a big part of her is suspicious that after she dies she’s probably just. you know. Be Dead. she isn’t really scared of it at all. it’s the natural course of all living things. she’d prefer to enjoy her life on earth while it lasts.

I mean, I guess? Haha, there was really nothing here. Since this was the very first game, character development basically didn’t exist, so like … I really don’t have an opinion one way or the other. People can do what they want, and I’m not against it, but I personally just don’t see anything there worth really talking about or shipping, haha.

Adventure of Link:

Same deal as above. My memories of AoL are really hazy, but iirc this is the game where Zelda is asleep for the vast majority of it, but also where we see an implied kiss at the end, which … honestly feels a lot like “here, you are rewarded with a gf” to me, which is why I “nonono” that. I’m mostly neutral, but also kind of really “meh” on it as well.

A Link to the Past / Link’s Awakening / Oracle of Ages/Seasons:

I’m kind of neutral on shipping Zelda with the Hero of Worlds, because while I think there could be potential there, they spend virtually no time together and, in the Oracle games, the fact that they barely know each other shows. The fact that Link could mistake Marin, who has deep red hair, for Zelda (who is blonde) seems to further cement this to me. Yes, he was half out of it due to the fact that he had just woken up after being knocked unconscious during that storm at sea, but the fact remains that hair color is one of the most immediately obvious markers of a person’s appearance and he still made that mistake. This is no doubt due to the fact that he and Zelda have spent barely any time together, I feel. Additionally, Link did spend quite a lot of time with Marin, and the two of them even went on a date. While I’m not at all opposed to multi-shipping and while it’s clear that he and Marin cannot be endgame (I mean she might have become a seagull ffs), I’d much prefer to ship him with Marin before Zelda, hands down.

Ocarina of Time / Majora’s Mask:

Again, this is a case where Link and Zelda didn’t really spend a lot of time together … and the majority of the time they did spend together was spent under deceit with Zelda pretending to be Sheik. I understand why she couldn’t tell him who she was (and I think that Link would understand, too) but that doesn’t change the fact that a good chunk of their relationship was spent with Zelda pretending to be someone else. And before anyone says anything, no, gender is not an issue here, especially since I am fully on-board with the headcanon of OoT!Zelda being genderfluid. The issue here is that Zelda pretended to be a completely different person entirely. Even if she had pretended to be a female different person, the same issue would exist. I think that, regardless of the necessity of the lie, Link would still have some trust issues, both in the sense of “if she lied to me about that, she could lie about other things,” and “don’t you trust me enough to tell me?” Then again, the second she dropped the disguise Ganondorf got her, so. :/

There’s also the issue of how she sends him back to his childhood at the end of the game. Link doesn’t speak, so we don’t know exactly how he felt about that decision she made, but she also doesn’t ask him if that’s what he wants, she decides that’s what he wants. And true, he does hand the Ocarina of Time over when she tells him to, but … that’s just it. She tells him to. The exact line is, “Link, give the ocarina to me. As a Sage, I can use it to return you to your original time.” Now, Link’s feelings on this are completely open to interpretation. It depends on how you characterize him and how you interpret his body language. But I just rewatched the scene (in both the original N64 graphics and the 3DS remaster), and it looks to me like he has a bit of hesitancy there—like he doesn’t necessarily want to, but technically the Ocarina of Time does belong to the royal family and, anyway, it’s a directive from the Princess of Hyrule. Can he really say no? Like, I guess he could refuse, but … mmmhh. He seems conflicted. But regardless of how he does or doesn’t seem conflicted, I do still think the fact that Zelda doesn’t ask him if this is what he wants is an issue. She decides that it’s what best. And whether the Triforce of Wisdom gives her insight that makes her right or not (and considering the timeline split, I think that’s debatable—I think that it would have been better to leave time business to the one who’s the Hero of it), I still don’t think the fact that Zelda thinks she can make huge life decisions for Link makes for an entirely healthy relationship right off the bat. I think they’d need to work on it.

That said, I do ship this in the context of Rose Zemlya’s fics (The Return and Reconciliation and all the one-shots and drabbles in-between), because in her fics they do work on it. They actually get to talk (and, well, fight) about Zelda’s tendency to deceive and lie because she feels it’s what’s best, as well as her removal of Link’s autonomy in the decision at the end of OoT. Additionally, I enjoy the way she characterizes both of them and think it works well. But outside of those fics, I’m neutral on it (kind of “ehh”), and in the end would probably rather ship Link with others (such as, for instance, Malon). I also think that, personality-wise, Zelda and Ruto could work well, though the fact that Ruto is a Zora gives me pause, as you know. XD

The Wind Waker / Phantom Hourglass:

I looooove Link and Tetra! While I do take issue with the way Tetra was damseled multiple times so that Link could rescue her (though this is typical of Zelda games), and while I also take issue with how Tetra is mysteriously and disgustingly whitewashed the second she is revealed to be Zelda (though that has nothing to do with the ship), altogether I think that Link/Tetra is a wonderful ship, and this was the first time that I undoubtedly shipped a Link/Zelda pair. 

To begin with, one of the things that I really like about the Hero of Winds and Tetra is that they are both hotheaded and both levelheaded at different times. Link is provoked by Aryll’s capture and Ganondorf’s taunting; he chases after his sister and loses his temper and attack Ganondorf, both actions of which were poorly thought-out and result in him needing rescuing, by Tetra. However, Tetra likewise loses her temper when her crew is threatened, when she is captured, and acts recklessly to save Link from Ganondorf (which results in both of them needing to be rescued by the Rito lmfao). She’s not immune from thinking irrationally or impulsively, and I actually think that she would be more prone to losing her temper / getting annoyed in casual situations, whereas Link would be calmer and more level-headed. In this sense, I think they balance each other out really well.

Of course, both Link and Tetra are about twelve-years-old, so they have a lot of growing up to do! I don’t think either of them are in a romantic mindset by the time the game ends. However, they do go sailing off to find a “new Hyrule” together, and we know thanks to Spirit Tracks that they succeed (doesn’t mean they start the new royal family, of course—just means that they find new land together). I think that there’s plenty of potential there for when they grow up, and I also think that Aryll would be 100% on-board. (A shipper on deck, if you will. ;D)

Twilight Princess:

I have nothing against it, but I also don’t ship it, tbh. I say “maybe” because they could always get to know each other post-game, could grow to care for each other, could grow to have feelings for each other—but that’s all hypothetical. They don’t bond at all over the course of the game (Zelda is barely in it, tbh), and I don’t really see potential there for them in canon. There’s no real interest, Zelda is barely a presence in the story. So I’m not against it, but I don’t really ship it, either. There’s not enough for me to.

Spirit Tracks:

I only played Spirit Tracks once and I honestly don’t remember it very well, so I’m afraid I can’t give an indepth analysis on this one. However, I do remember really loving their interactions throughout the game, and that’s key—this Link and Zelda have plenty of time to get to know each other and interact, and it shows. I think that they were really cute and that, while (once again) they’re young, there’s a high probability that they could develop feelings for each other in the future.

Skyward Sword:

This probably would have been a “MY HEART,” but then BotW showed me what “MY HEART” really means. More on that in a second, though. ;)

I really, really like what SS did with Link and Zelda. They’re childhood friends, and that shows; it’s clear that they care for each other a great deal, that Zelda is protective of him when it comes to the bullying he receives from Groose and the others, but that he’s just as protective of her when it comes to any threats. There’s an element of playfulness in their relationship, in that she teases him for being a sleepyhead, she’s not afraid to play around with him, she knows he’ll take it well. They’re honestly very sweet with each other, and I swear the scene where he takes her hand and drops into a kneel before her squeezes my heart every single time. (As does the scene where she seals herself away, tells him that he’ll have to wake her up this time, and he cries as he leans against the crystal, damn.) I will say that it does bum me out a bit that Zelda is damseled (sealing herself was an action she undertook as part of her own plan, so I’m not talking about that—I’m talking about when Ghirahim kidnaps her to resurrect Demise), but again, that’s par for the course with Zelda games, so I can forgive it.

I do think that this is the game they’re the most canon in, though. We know that this Zelda is the one who went on to form the Hyrulean royal family (and that all other Zeldas are descended from her), and I mean, their song when flying on the loftwing in the beginning is called “Romance.” I think we know who her king was, js.

Breath of the Wild:

THE BEST ZELINK TO DATE, ALL OTHER ZELINKS CAN TAKE A SEAT PLEASE. 

The best part of this Zelda/Link pair is that it is undoubtedly a slow burn. They knew each other for quite a long time even prior to Link’s near death. In Zelda’s diary, she notes that “he” has been selected to be her personal guard, with the emphasis hers. This implies that she knew him beforehand, no doubt because he was already training to be a knight, as his father had been before him. (Often times knights were nobility, so it’s incredibly possible that she even knew him from noble court prior to his entering in to be a knight.) Despite knowing each other beforehand, however, they weren’t friends. We know that Zelda’s dislike of Link wasn’t really personal—it was wrapped up in a lot of her own issues and insecurities, and how she projected her feelings onto him—but all the same, the fact remains that although they knew each other and had a history, they weren’t close. This means that we see them grow closer over time.

While I am admittedly rather “ehhh” at the way her feelings shift is carried out at first, that we see her reconsider in a “rescue romance” type of light when he saves her from the Yiga assassins, I do appreciate that despite the framing of the memory it wasn’t really shown to make her fall instantly in love with him. Rather, it opened her eyes to the fact that she should get to know him better, that he doesn’t hate her, that she should make an attempt to talk with him. And she does, and they do. They grow closer, get to know each other, become friends first after such a rocky start and then let feelings develop. And what I really, really love is that Zelda never loses her complexity through any of this. Even when it comes to the moment when her powers awaken, although we do know for canonical fact that it was her love for Link that allowed her powers to awaken, I also feel like Zelda throwing herself in-between him and the Guardian Stalker wasn’t just because she loved him, but was also because she couldn’t bear for one more person—much less the last person she had left—to die because of or for her. Like, yes, love was there, but so was survivor’s guilt. Zelda loving Link did not reduce her to a love interest. And, despite the fact that you’re told to go save her for the duration of the entire game, Zelda is not damseled. She is not a prisoner. Ganon is her prisoner and she’s waiting for Link to come pick up the slack. They are, inarguably, equals, and that is such a nice and refreshing change. 

They still have so much to do, so much to catch up on. Zelda especially needs to get reacquainted with the world now that she can finally walk through it again. And, as we see in the Golden Ending, they have work that must be done and they are putting that on priority. However, they have time. They now have so much time to rekindle their friendship, grow closer, build a life together, and we’ve seen the foundation on which that can be built. This is by far the best rendition of the Link and Zelda relationship yet and I’m so glad it exists. A+++++, well done, Nintendo.
