2005 Ford GTX1

El tributo de Ford al GT40, el GT, abarcó 4038 unidades durante su ciclo de producción entre 2004 y 2006. Los valores de esos coches se han disparado y el modelo ha ganado una reputación muy querida a lo largo de los años. El V8 sobrealimentado de 5.4 litros genera 700 caballos de fuerza, 150 más que el GT "de serie", y cuenta con un escape Borla de baja restricción. Sometime last week, maybe two weeks ago, the seller turned down our offer. No surprise, although I did at least expect a counter offer. All things for good. In the month of waiting we decided to scrap pursuing Portugal altogether and try to buy in Spain instead. Main reason: Portuguese is hard. There is so much more inventory in Spain, we can easily find what we want just south of Valencia or further inland south of Madrid.

I'm in the process of getting our tax ID numbers for Spain, a wee bit harder than Portugal. Next we need to find a realtor and then plan another trip to scout properties. March marks one year since we started our search and I'm frustrated we're not further along. In retrospect we needed this time to formulate a decent plan (one where we don't end up poor), get on relatively the same page and just be better married people altogether.

Some days I feel like we've "wasted" the past year, but we've refined our decisions (school being a major one) and learned a ton. Those things are not a waste.

In other news, we gifted Husband's oldest son with a $4300 Ford F150 (2006). It's kind of beat up, but runs good. The son is a mechanic so it's something practical that he can work on without having to spend a fortune on parts. He and pregnant GF were very happy. I'm happy they're happy. Hugged them both and told them the next time we'd see them is after baby is born. Short and sweet. I'm glad the whole thing is done. Husband is especially happy to have that task checked off his conscience.

In other news we decided to put AJ in Catholic school next year. He and I toured the campus and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the school. I presumed it was much smaller than it actually is. Bonus---we'll be able to walk there every morning.

Buenos Aires prepara su gran maratón internacional para el domingo 24

Fuente: CADA y Ñandú Luego del suceso del 21k de Buenos Aires,  la ciudad se apresta a vivir otra gran fiesta atlética, este domingo 24 de septiembre. Se trata del Maratón Internacional de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires/Telecom (edición 38ª.), que tiene una cifra récord de 12 mil inscriptos (mientras que el 21k también cubrió su cupo de 23 mil inscriptos). La prueba se disputará -tal como sucediera en la anterior- sobre un nuevo circuito, más veloz y totalmente plano, que atravesará toda la franja de Buenos Aires que va desde Palermo hacia Núñez, y retome hacia la Boca, pasando también por el Centro, Puerto Madero y Barrio Norte, incluyendo varios de los principales atractivos turísticos y culturales.   Se largará a las 7.00 en la Avenida Figueroa Alcorta y Dorrego, donde también estará la línea de llegada. La prueba está incluida en el calendario de la Federación Internacional (World Athletics) con puntos para el ranking del mundo y la fiscalización de la Confederación Argentina de Atletismo y la Federación Atlética Metropolitana. El Maratón Internacional de Buenos Aires se ha posicionado desde hace varios años como el más veloz en Latinoamérica. Su récord en hombres fue fijado en 2:05:00 por el kenyata Evans Chebet en 2019. Desde entonces, Chebet se ha convertido en uno de los mejores maratonistas del mundo al ganar grandes pruebas como Valencia (2:03:00), Nueva York y Boston. En damas, el récord del circuito también fue logrado en 2019 por una kenyata, Rodah Jepkorir Tanui (foto), con 2:25:46. Rodah regresa ahora en busca de su tercera victoria consecutiva (también triunfó el año pasado) y precedida por sus recientes triunfos en los maratones de Copenhague y Sidney. Tendrá fuertes rivales como su compatriota Pamela Jepkosgei Rotich (antecedente de 2:22.43 el año pasado) y Sharon Jemutai Cherop (2:22:28), ex ganadora del maratón de Boston, quien llega por tercera vez a nuestro país. En hombres, estará el ex subcampeón olímpico de 10 mil metros en Rio 2016, Paul Tanui, quien hace su debut en la distancia mayor, mientras que hay otros cuatro corredores que ya tienen antecedentes debajo de 2:10, encabezados por el kenyata Cornelus Kibet (2:08:02 este año). También estará Edwin Kibet Kiptoo, subcampeón del maratón de Buenos Aires. La lista de argentinos incluye a varios de los más destacados de maratón en los últimos tiempos como David Rodríguez (viene de una gran actuación en el 21k), Martín Méndez, Miguel Maza, José Félix Sánchez y Pablo  Toledo.
