But in general, I say write the things down that make you YOU. What about your personality, disposition, life, hobbies, presence you have, and reputation influence how others see you and how you see yourself.

What animals are you drawn to? Start with those and look them up on the forum.

What animals have reputations that match yours? Are you a trickster fox or docile doe? Do you love socializing and have a strong work drive and ethic like some domestic dogs? Things like that.

I definitely rely on the forums for form finding.

When I was talking about HDM and daemons at one point I got my partner to take the Firstginger quiz and I showed him some formfinding resources. (All for fun, he doesn't know about daemonism practice.)

On the Firstginger quiz he got a waterfowl called a Screamer, which he said the description fit him well. But he also felt like his dae would be a fox, so I showed him some of the different fox analyses and he said he felt red foxes were very accurate. I have heard from others who also experienced some waterfowl/fox overlap, and so I am going to say that because of a preference towards foxes his daemon would probably be a red fox. (I do personally think preference can influence the form a dae settles as, to a degree.)

I occasionally imagine/project his daemon for fun, and while I know he would prefer a darker coat color like a silver fox, I cannot imagine his daemon as being anything but a fire and ice coated fox. I imagine her being less fluffy and instead having longer fur like the American red fox.

She does not have any name in my mind, simply because she is not my daemon and I feel a bit awkward about naming her. But, I still may project her just for fun.

Module: Form Finding 

Week 1 - Shelter Maquette Development 

To continue from the initial models made in the seminar, we had to design individual proposals which would then be critiqued and presented to our groups.  I also had to make 1:10 scale model of myself as I am going to be making a 1:10 model of my groups chosen final design. 

I worked in my sketchbook to explore how the structures of the models I had made could work and responded to the following questions:

- What kind of structures can be made considering the materials?

- How can the materials be joined? (end to end, corners etc)

- How does the structure engage with the ground?

- How can you keep the water out? (all directions!) 

I explored various orientations of the people inside to work out the most efficient position for the limited material we will have. I used triangular panels as structurally this is a strong shape. These also help redirect rain to the ground to avoid the roof sagging (which would be likely if it was flatter). The small protruding pyramids act to further stabilise the form and prevent possible movement from wind from any direction. In order to prevent water entering the shelter there is an inner ground compartment made of polythene sheeting, raised at the edges with the polythene tube to act as protection from the wet ground. The joints of the panels are located between the people to avoid leakage directly onto anybody, though this could be developed with a polythene layer on the roof too. The small raised ventilation roof would help reduce discomfort and moisture from internal condensation, yet no water could enter as it is sufficiently sheltered from all sides. 

I think my design has great potential and meets the requirements: waterproof, material efficient, sturdy, and breathable.
