I am extremely excited to add onto this because I have spent SO MUCH TIME analyzing their abilities based on their games. I’m probably going to make my own at some point, but for now I’ll add onto this one.
Four absolutely has a fire rod. He also has mole mitts. If you’re counting a shovel, I think those should also count, since they are also claws. Does slingshot count on the same level as the boomerang? Because he has that, too. He also has a sword beam with full hearts. You mentioned the Great Spin Attack and I absolutely have to emphasize how overpowered his version is. Everyone else either gets dizzy, uses magic, or both to do this kind of “hurricane” attack where they spin around and around. In Minish Cap, there is no magic, no dizziness, and no cool down. He can spam this attack like crazy. So OP. I would also like to mention that the level 2 hammer in FSA has such a huge shockwave that the ground ripples. Another interesting thing to note is that the dark “Vio” in the Palace of the Four Swords can shoot fireballs from his sword. About the horse thing, I’m pretty sure the horse is like having invincibility in Sonic or Mario. You just run over stuff. I’d have to double check, but that’s how I remember it. I should also point out that his power enhancing items let him push huge bookshelves even when Minish-sized or pull trees out of the ground in FSA.
Hyrule: Idk if anyone but me cares about the numbers, but at the end of Zelda 2, he can have a maximum of 128 magic points. The spells cost as follows: Shield 16, Jump 8, Life 50, Fairy, 40, Fire 16, Reflect 16, Spell 16, Thunder 64. He can barely use thunder twice before needing a magic recharge. I am also pretty sure he’s using the fire spell in that scene from the comic. He absolutely is a scrappy fighter. He knows how to use the terrain to his advantage.
Legend is a BIG one, yeah. To say more about his spin attack: he can jump and do a spin attack at the same time. Let me say that again. He can jump and do a spin attack at the same time. He’s graceful and beautiful. He needs a roc’s feather or cape to do this, of course. He actually has less moves available to him than Four. He only has the spin attack, as previously discussed, the dash attack using the Pegasus boots, a sword beam, and the hurricane spin. His hurricane spin drains magic quickly AND makes him dizzy. He is quite mobile with it though. Very fast. He also has the Great Spin (not great spin attack) which gives his regular spin attack enormous range. Another cool thing about his fighting style is that, while other games (particularly the 3D ones) rely heavily on the shield to block attacks, Legend parries with his sword if he has a spin charged. If he has a spin charged, he hurts enemies just by walking into them, without actually spinning, though this does less damage. If he does this to an enemy holding a sword, they will clash swords and neither will be damaged.
He can also duel wield in potentially interesting ways. Since he doesn’t need a shield in most circumstances, he can replace it with a fire/ice rod, a boomerang, a hookshot, one of his magic canes, etc. Also, two of his rings let him punch. The Expert’s ring lets his punch do as much damage as the Noble Sword. That’s the second best sword in the game you can only get from a trading sequence. It’s a punch more powerful than a sword beam. Imagine you watch a burly guy pick a fight with this scrawny little dude and the little guy drops his sword and shield and punches the guy across the street. (He has to have his item slots empty to punch.) Imagine that. It’s totally going into my story at some point. I know you’re discounting boomerangs, which is a real shame because different boomerangs have different abilities. He has five of them, excluding Link’s Awakening. The Magical boomerang from ALttP can be controlled with his mind. (Not to be confused with the Magic Boomerang, which just a regular boomerang that flies farther.) The nice boomerang from ALBW can send out three boomerangs. If you start including Links Awakening items, (and looking at some of the items in his house in the comic, maybe you should,) you get into some of the most overpowered items in the series. That boomerang can one-shot the majority of enemies and stuns most everything else.
His super net from ALBW can technically beat the final boss. Let that sink in. And the super lantern, while difficult to use in this way, has some of the highest attack in the game. Again, this item can defeat the final boss. The long hook is an upgraded version of the switch hook (everyone keeps calling it the switch hook even after it’s the long hook). For those that don’t know, it swaps you with whatever you hit with it, both objects and enemies, which you can use to cross gaps. A good example of use in combat is if the enemy has a shielded face (I forgot what the enemy is called) you can switch with the shield and boom, you’re right in its unprotected face.
Oh! I think you forgot the magic cape! It makes him not just invisible, but invincible. He can walk right through spike traps and enemy attacks. Uses a lot of magic though. Besides the roc’s feather, he also has a roc’s cape. The mermaid suit might not seem combat useful, but while most Links struggle with fighting underwater, the mermaid suit lets him wield most of his items underwater. And he doesn’t need to come up for breath. He also has magnetic gloves. His hyper slingshot can shoot three mysterious seeds out of one (like three tornados, fire balls, etc.) As far as the red shield goes… Eh, he’s got a mirror shield, which is better.
He also has some fun things in Tri Force Heroes (Gust jar, water rod, and fire gloves) but Jojo says that game isn’t canon.
Wind. Gosh I love this kid’s adaptability. Previous heroes on this list have big limitations to how many items they can use in their item slots. Even capes and boots take up an item slot. This kid can handle three different items besides the sword and shield, which sometimes take up their own item slots in games instead of being always equipped. So he is very fast at using his items. Wind can also do a great spin attack/hurricane spin. It makes him dizzy and uses magic.
The Phantom Sword can’t currently slow time because it’s out of juice. I believe Jojo made this canon to her comic as well. I think there’s a page where he lets Time examine it and explains its ability.
This isn’t all of their items, but in line with OP’s intention, I left it at the ones that have combat potential. Although maybe I should add Wind’s iron boots, because they give him extra weight if he needs to pull something big towards him instead of being the one pulled by the hookshot.
I’ll probably add to the others here as well, but right now it’s after midnight, so that will have to wait. You’re doing a great job, OP!
Linked Universe Combat Guide (part 1)
Lmao I have been casually sitting on this for like two months now and since I'm procrastinating writing an essay, I've decided to post it.
Anyway, this came from my bajillion notes about the Chain's equipment so I could have fight scenes that involved more than "he swings his sword" x9. I also wanted to identify all the weird weapons the Links would have too bc I know they exist. And since adhd is the shark disorder and I need to do something bc I stop moving I die, I've made my notes coherent enough to inflict upon tumblr.
General Notes:
In terms of additional weapons/equipment, I’m not including the traditional bombs/bow + arrows/boomerangs bc basically everyone has a variant of these. All I'm doing is looking at the possible items collected on the quests and being like "yeah I could probably work out a way to kill monsters with that".
Also they all have one-handed sword and shield proficiency, so I'm not including that for each Link. However any other canonical or possible weapon proficiencies will be listed.
7 out of 9 Links are predominantly lefties. Generally, left-handed swordfighters are used to fighting right-handed swordfighters, but the same is not true vice versa, so they will have an advantage against most human enemies. -> any ambidextrous fighters in the group is largely a headcanon but go nuts w/ it.
Researched to the best of my ability (limited only by search terms and my own waning hyperfixation), but pls be aware I literally only played my first Zelda game ever in February 2024 so there’s a lot I don’t know and games I haven’t played. Both parts are open to peer review and active fact checking lmao
Half of this is canonical abilities and half is presumed abilities based off of said canon + other logical conclusions. I'm doing this from a lore-accurate sense, rather than a straight pull from the LU comics, simply bc that allows for a broader analysis of what they're technically all capable of. I've tried my best to keep my personal headcanons out of this either way.
This part covers Four, Hyrule, Legend and Wind, whose games I have not played, so my apologies if anything is missing or incorrect.
Updated 9 March 2025 with new info provided by @thejolteonmastertj who's a literal godsend for their info about Legend and Hyrule's combat skills🙏, and @respheal who added on and emphasised just how important Legend's spin attack is. I love you both <3
Four
I am actively making the argument that Four probably has knowledge about other fighting styles due to his trade as a black/weaponsmith. I do not have any specifics in mind bc I do not have the spoons for that deep-dive, but feel free to run with this however you want.
Sword techniques: -> spin attack + variants    -> great spin attack (repeated spins)    -> hurricane spin (same as above but temporarily induces dizziness) -> dash attack (requires pegasus boots) -> peril beam (only works when he's got 1 heart left) -> roll attack -> down thrust (requires Roc’s cape)
Obviously, Four's greatest strength is team combat w/ the Colours. By splitting, he's able to coordinate combat with easy tag-team attacks with a much lower risk of friendly fire compared to when fighting alongside members of the Chain. Group combat, quite obviously, is actually kinda hard bc it requires an increased amount of situational awareness that is often overridden by adrenaline. Thankfully, since Four and the Colours are literally the same person, this is mitigated by a LOT.
Seriously do not discount how Four's height is an advantage in combat. Being smaller/shorter means you have less body mass to speed up and slow down, so you have greater agility and speed. You're also harder to hit and better at close combat (short limbs take less time to block, attack, etc.)
Genuinely don't know if he's proficient in combat while on horseback. I've heard at least one of Four's games has an Epona, but I don't know if there's any mounted combat.
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> power bracelets -> gust jar -> Cane of Pacci -> magnetic glove -> fire rod (I think? Fact check pls and thank) -> magic hammer -> pegasus boots -> Roc’s cape -> shovel (do not under any circumstances discount mundane weapons)
Hyrule
To start off, the most important thing to know about Hyrule is that he's a self-taught fighter.
No, seriously this is more important than you think but not for the reasons you may think. Self-taught fighters are scrappy as shit. Out of the entire Chain, Hyrule will be the first one to resort to fighting dirty. Have him clawing at people’s eyes, throwing dirt, and biting. When you grow up in a situation where survival is a thin line you don't want to cross, you’ll do anything to stay alive when you have to.
Spells: -> Shield: reduces damage by half -> Jump: self-explanatory -> Life: recovers health -> Fairy: shapeshifts into a fairy -> Fire: shoots fireballs from the end of his sword. (an aside, but this scene from the comic may be a variant of Fire? Fact check again lmao) -> Reflect: reflects magic attacks and strengthens his shield to temporarily block some physical attacks and most magical attacks -> Spell: can turn most enemies into Bots -> Thunder: summons lightning
Hyrule actually gained the ability to use magic in his second quest, so while he's probably well adapted to using it now and may default to using it when backed into a corner, he's still a capable swordsman without it. -> Update: while the spells I listed above came about in Hyrule's second quest, thejolteonmastertj points out that Hyrule is straight up slinging sword beams with the random sword he gets given at the start of his first adventure, and that it's an important technique for the game.
He can canonically use Jump to perform a down thrust (like Four's) and a jump thrust (think Mario hitting bricks lmao),but there are so many ways to utilise this spell. Someone should teach Hyrule the Helm Splitter.
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> power bracelets -> hammer -> this will sound stupid but ladder (again, never underestimate weird and mundane weapons.) -> magic rod (w/ accompanying fire upgrade) -> magic recorder (used in-game for fast travel but thejolteonmastertj also says it summons a tornado and if you can't find a way to use that in combat, I'm going to eat my hat)
Legend
Legend gave me so much trouble, solely bc sir has too many games. Jesus Christ man.
I am once again happily arguing that due to Legend’s sheer experience, he probably has other weapon proficiencies outside of a one-handed sword + shield combo, but that’s entirely up to personal headcanons
A lot of the combat I could find is similar to Four's, in terms of sword techniques, so see above.
Once again for the class lmao, Legend has the most questing experience. While his section may seem small bc I don't want to rehash stuff I've already said, it's entirely on-brand for him to have tweaked a lot of this. Headcanons abound.
Updating the above two points: again provided by thejolteonmastertj, Legend's officially getting smacked with another label, and this is "Most OP Spin Attack". This has been pointed out to be a core aspect of combat for ALTTP (Legend's first adventure). directly quoting their reblog bc I can't summarise it any better than it's already been said: -> "Legend’s charged spin attack as reactive crowd control is foundational & central to his entire battle style. It’s extremely difficult to land a hit otherwise! You gotta either run, button mash to parry with ur back against a wall till something hits… … or you play it smart, watch everything in the room & plan your charged spins accordingly. Legend would be particularly adept at being outnumbered in an enclosed space. He can also throw pots, even shrubbery if he so desires, but well-timed spin-attacks are what truly carries him through his first few dungeons."
respheal also points out that some of Legend's enemies can only be damaged by the spin attack, making it a cruical technique that he's more than likely put time into developing more than the others may have.
Can't believe I didn't mention Legend's own tactical prowess smh
Additional Weapons/Equipment (Warning: brace yourself): -> literally the entire contents of his ring box. I'm not listing them. I don't even know what's in it, nor do I want to at this point. A link to the Everything in his ring box can be found here -> power bracelets/power glove/titan’s mitt -> hammer(s) -> pegasus boots -> Cane of Byrna -> Cane of Somaria -> hookshots -> long hook -> seed shooter (+ ember seeds, scent seeds, mystery seeds, gale seeds, & pegasus seeds) -> fire rod -> ice rod -> Rod of Seasons -> tornado rod -> sand rod -> Bombos medallion -> Ether Medallion -> Quake medallion -> magic powder -> shovel -> super net -> alternative tunics (attack or defensive enhancements) -> red shield (fire defence) -> Roc’s feather
Wind
Arguably has the best balance and proprioception of the group, which is extremely useful in many situations.
Once again, do not be afraid to use Wind’s height to his advantage. He has a slight detriment bc he’s still getting taller and going through puberty does screw up your proprioception, but I think if you’re using a sword that much, both against enemies and in sparring matches, he's probably still got a decent sense of his own balance and body.
I genuinely don’t know how the Phantom Sword works, sorry. I know it has some potential to slow time, but I’m not entirely sure about the mechanics behind that, nor if it’s still capable of such magic.
Wind’s Parry Attack:   Hmm this thing. It’s interesting. Note: no actual parrying with a shield is needed, which means it's kinda like BOTW's perfect dodge mechanic. -> Wind’s parry attack is like the Helm Splitter and Back Slice combined into one. If the attack is vertical, he does a Back Slice-esque attack. If the attack is horizontal, it’s a Helm Splitter. -> Additionally he has an ending blow like Twilight and Sky, which has a specific trigger.
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> power bracelets -> deku leaf -> skull hammer -> grappling hook (!!!!! any rope dart combat video would make this brutal) -> shovel -> hookshot -> Wind’s weird magic armour spell -> Hyoi pears if you feel like world-building
Part 2: Sky, Time, Twi, Wars and Wild

Rewarding myself from all my stupid finals studying (there's still so much to do but progress has been made!!) with some fun little Murdle Falls Headcanons, featuring the entire gang wahoo!!
Jake somehow has more random things in her pockets than either Logico or Irratino. She's got the oversized trenchcoat she swears she'll grow into and cargo shorts combo, and she's got the most arbitrary assortment of things that sometimes just so happen to be the exact thing needed at any given moment (cartoon logic babey!!) She's got gum, assorted cash (and a few coins in a foreing currency she traded an exchange student for once), a Swiss army knife, magnifying glass, keychain flashlight, fingerprint dusting kit, duct tape wallet with a cardstock fake FBI badge, a mini Beanie Baby for good luck- Just to name a few of the favorites.
I feel like Jake has been in both karate and ballet. Karate was her choice, because every gumshoe should know how to defend themselves, only she got a little too into it and her parents suggested she maybe do something a little more gentle- Hence, a switch to ballet classes. Jokes on them, though. Now Jake's even better at high kicks than she was to start and has really great balance. Which would be great if she didn't use every opportunity to walk across anything the width of her shoe or thinner or "parkour".
Olivia may seem the most mature out of the three kids, and in many ways, she is, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have her own nerdy side as well. I can imagine her and the gang going out shopping and Olivia sees some merch for some super nerdy cartoon (Probably Ducktective or maybe something like the Steel Samurai from AA because that would be very funny to me) she's secretly a fan of and is like "WAIT THEY HAVE A NEW FIGURINE OF THAT CHARACTER but it's clearly inaccurate the clothes are from season four and the hairstyle is from season five- or, uh. So I've been told." She's used to being professional and mature, especially with her dad's position, but the kids are like "I've never heard of this show up you need to show it to us." You aren't that into computers without being a nerd about something else, too :P
Out of all the kids, Olivia's the most hesitant to try something new. Granted, Jake is willing to do just about whatever and Julius will give anything with good vibes a shot so Olivia's at a bit of a disadvantage, but still. She's the braincell of the kids, which means she's the healthy dose of caution if Logico isn't around, but it also bleeds into hobbies. She's good at coding, it comes easily to her, and perhaps she's not good at not being good at something. Being a "gifted kid" with Indigo as a father will kinda make you averse to not being good at something on the first try. Even if Indigo wouldn't, like, shame her for failing, she does pick up on how he projects himself as good at everything first try and thinks she should be just as good first try, too, y'know?
Julius, like Mabel, is quite crafty. Aside from summer outfit being different sweaters with thematic designs, he's also into drawing all the strange happenings of Gravity Falls in a little sketchbook. He also probably make friendship bracelets for everyone, the simple braided kind with their favorite colors and maybe a crystal to enhance their vibes. (Said bracelets were absolutely made while listening to some audiobook or video essay about cryptids or astrology). While Logico has a journal about the murders and his logic grids, Julius probably starts the journal about the local cryptids and draws them the best he can (Which is quite good, even if he's only gotten fleeting glances)
While Julius and Irratino are only related on Irratino's claims of "Trust me bro" he made that one time in a pinch, they get along really well! Irratino was a little worried about housing two kids and not sure how exactly to act to his "nephew", but Julius already loved all things esoteric and asked a lot of questions on how things worked, and they get along really really well. Julius may have been a little skeptical at first, but is often found chattering away with his uncle about his newest ideas and thoughts about the vibes of this place. And Irratino always makes sure his pencils and pens are well stocked. Also Julius and Irratino have absolutely been seen scrapbooking on the living room floor. And who knows? Maybe Julius can teach Irratino a thing or two from a more human perspective. Maybe Julius also made a custom eyepatch for Irratino, too.
Buster, defying all orange cat stereotypes, is quite smart (Okay I know his official description says he's brown but look at the image and tell me that's not as orange as they come). His intelligence is entirely unexplained- Maybe he's a mystical interdimensional creature like Irratino, maybe he's a cryptid native to GF, maybe he's just a smart cat. But beyond just navigating caves and labyrinths and leading the gang to important clues, he's also just good at knowing where and when he's needed to be a friend. He'll curl up to whoever is having a bad day and start purring softly, and you know what, it really does help.
Jake and Julius were definitely a little concerned about convincing Irratino to take in this random cat they found and really like. They could try and convince Logico as a backup plan, but they're staying with Irratino, so if the cat gets to live with them that'd be great. Turns out Irratino is very fond of cats and is like "Oh you're just a darling little thing, aren't you!! Yes of course he can live here!!" Much to the delight of the kids. Also, semi-related, Buster is a very picky mf and Irratino is the one guy who knows what he wants. Jake and Julius try giving him fish or cheese and Irratino is just like "No, he likes roast beef" and sure enough he does????
Logico's quite a good storyteller! I mean, he did get his books published in the canon, and while idk if he's publishing his Gravity Falls murder mysteries, he's certainly still storytelling with his DD&MD campaigns with the kids!! (As Lily pointed out in a previous comment, it's kinda hard to play without friends, so he probably has a lot of campaign story ideas backlogged he's really excited to finally get to play). It takes a while for him to get into it, he's too self conscious at first, but once he gets into it? He's getting dramatic with his narration and has the kids hooked. And then the go on and he just awkwardly clears his throat and is like "Um. Or something. Isn't it past your bedtimes?" His appeal is in how endearingly lame he is.
You know what's not lame about Logico, though? He's a lot tougher than he looks. He may be 6 ft tall, but he's awkward enough to seem harmless- Hell, he probably shrinks onto himself in most situations to appear shorter. But when push comes to shove, he's a force to be reckoned with. I mean, he does punch Irratino when he learns about everything he was hiding, and even though Irratino can't be hurt by it, it was still a hard punch. If we get a "Scary-oke" type episode, you bet Logico is doing a scary good job fighting zombies. Do they make brass knuckles with six fingers? Probably not. But he has a set in his jacket just in case, what with all the murders and mysteries, and combine that with his chessBOXING college days? Let's not give him a reason to fight.
Irratino is always a little unused to his human and corporeal form, especially since it's so different from what he's used to. As a result, he's perpetually rather clumsy- He's still sometimes dropping small things (and maybe abusing his powers to make those things hover so he can catch them), tripping over his feet, bumping into countertops, the works (Hey, at least he can't bruise). Even if he's better at navigating legs and walking than when he first adopted a human form, he still keeps the cane for a variety of reasons: Aesthetic, attachment, a bit of extra balance, cool twirling tricks to impress the kids and a loser detective, and so on.
Irratino may be aware that him and Logico getting together is a canon event, but that doesn't make it any less exciting when they finally are together. Irratino may have played a little coy to start, and acted very cool by saying "Oh, Logico will confess when he's ready" but when it does happen, he's ecstatic! He's showing his adoration and affection in whatever ways he can get away with- Flowers are a favorite of his, usually tucked into the breast pocket of Logico's trench coat, but he's also fond of writing little notes for Logico to and sneaking them in his pockets, too. Or just holding hands and hugging him whenever he can, cute little things like that. Sometimes he gets a little too excited, but, well, Logico wears turtlenecks all the time anyways so it's fine.

ok so i know i've literally never posted abt sanders sides before on this blog (i haven't been keeping up for a few years) but i've been tumbling down a waterslide lined with my old hyperfixations for the last few hours and ended up creating D&D au character designs for the core four sides using heroforge. images and descriptions under the cut if you're interested ❤ bonus points if you can guess what classes they are (this is EXTREMELY self-indulgent so pls forgive the ranting abt them, they're very important to me ok)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First up we have Roman! my beloved. one of my first questions when starting his design was how can i make him look as cunty as possible? the answer: heeled boots and winged eyeliner (It's a little tricky to see but he's got gold metallic eyeliner). I ADORE Roman's colour pallet so i kept it as close to accurate as i could, making white the base colour and accentuating it with the gold armor and the dramatic red shoulder cape as my stand-in for his sash. he's wielding a katana OF COURSE how could he not be. he's slaying ⚔ 🐉 and slaying 💅💋
moving on:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Patton. my baby, my honey, my ragtime gal. i decided to make his hair a little longer than roman's bc i thought it made him look softer and more approachable. it was UNBELIEVABLY hard to find something that sort of replaced his cardigan without looking too chunky but i did like this kind of loose tattered mantle, so i went with that. kept the sky blue shirt and gray cardigan/shawl, but gave him more greyish blue pants so they didn't blend into the shirt too much. glasses are round instead of square bc again i thought they made him look friendlier than the square ones. freckles bc i personally think freckles are very cute and patton is very cute so he got freckles. no shoes he's travelling the realms like the gods intended. the dad vibes are strong i want him to give me a hug 🥺
next up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
logan is quite possibly my favourite side so i really wanted to get his design right. the MOST important thing was giving him his iconic necktie, which ended up being pretty much the same color as his canon design. i couldn't give the tie specifically a pattern, so i made his vest stripy like his tie is in the show and i think it looks really good. his glasses are the more classic nerd ones which is perfect for him and i gave him black eyeliner bc i thought it made him look more serious. i added the coat for more of a d&d look (it doesn't make sense to traverse planes wearing a vest and tie) i think it gives him an extra bit of style that i love.
and last but not least:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the Anxious BoiTM himself (i've only had him for five minutes seven years but if anything happened to him etc etc). virgil's was one of the easiest designs aesthetically and hardest mechanically (you'll never guess what class he is guys i took some BIG swings). I knew i wanted him in black and purple (obviously) and i knew i wanted to give him the iconic purple hair dye and eyeshadow. i almost said screw the genre and put him in a zippered hoodie but i do think that a cloak and cowl would suit him very well (good for hiding in) and i found a combo that looked equally cosy and spooky. a bow is good for attacking long range and keeping out of danger (appropriate for anxiety, i thought) and the mask looks intimidating but actually helps him with sensory overload (with the cowl and mask on he's basically in a mini sensory deprivation bubble). an eyebrow ring bc he's edgy idk why honestly i thought it looked cool.
So that's basically it! As i said before if you can guess their respective classes i'll give you a cookie (🍪). since i can't draw, heroforge is usually my go-to for character creation and i have to recommend it (i think i talk abt this site a lot but 🤷‍♀️) it's so helpful for non-artist types like myself.
I hope you enjoyed! please leave comments if you liked they feed me (if you didn't like it, please just move on and don't let me know, i'm doing this for fun and i don't want any negativity please ❤) @thatsthat24 hope you like 🥰

One of the most common questions I get as temperatures rise is, “Can I still wear denim shorts?” The answer is a resounding, yes—you absolutely can. With the right fit and a few smart styling tips, denim shorts can be a cool, modern addition to your summer wardrobe. Whether you’re juggling family life, planning a weekend getaway, or prioritizing feeling confident and pulled together, this guide will help you wear denim shorts with confidence and ease—no matter your age. Thank you to Saks Fifth Avenue for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own, and I only partner with brands I love. Turn on your JavaScript to view content For more next level style tips and amazing FREE resources, make sure to subscribe to our Newsletter here! denim shorts without the teen vibe Worried denim shorts might make you look too young or too casual? Maybe you’ve heard the outdated myth that women of a “certain age” shouldn’t wear shorts or mini skirts. Let’s set the record straight: that’s not just insulting—it’s flat-out wrong. You are not too old to wear denim shorts. Or mini skirts. Or anything else, for that matter. It’s not about age—it’s about fit, confidence, and how you style it. Below are smart, modern tips to help you rock those denim shorts with ease, comfort, and serious style. 1. Choose the Right Shorts Fit matters. Look for mid to high-rise styles in a modern wash with a silhouette that flares out slightly toward the bottom—almost like an A-line shape. That subtle flare not only adds comfort but also creates the illusion of slimmer legs. It is flattering and functional. Inseam length is key. By now, you probably have a sense of what length works best for your frame. I’m petite at 5’4″, so I prefer a 3–4 inch inseam in shorts to elongate my legs. If you’re taller, you might find a 5–7 inch inseam more flattering. When in doubt, you use the fingertip test: hang your arms loosely at your sides and see if your shorts are about as long as where your fingertips fall. (Remember, this is only a guide. Not a “rule”.) Also, pay attention to the rise—the distance between the waist and the crotch. You want to be able to sit comfortably and move freely without constantly adjusting. If you’re tugging at your shorts all day, they’re not the right pair. the pair I always go back to… My personal go-to denim shorts are the Moussy Vintage Packard Shorts. They’re definitely an investment piece, but I’ve owned mine for over four years and worn them on countless trips and summer days. The cost per wear is incredibly low—and they still look amazing. Moussy is known for their standout washes and premium quality, so these shorts feel timeless and hold their shape beautifully. Note on these shorts, I think they are probably better suited for petites due to the shorter inseam and rise. Below, I shared a few denim short options so you can find the exact right pair for you and your shape/height. Turn on your JavaScript to view content 2. Pair with a Polished Top Balance the casual vibe of denim shorts with elevated basics. I absolutely love the subtle puff sleeve white button-down that I’m wearing above—it’s feminine, fresh, and so much more elegant than a tank or tee. I already know I’m going to wear this one a ton this summer! When you do opt for something more casual, like a tank or tee, just be sure to add thoughtful layers and accessories to tie the look together and create a more refined feel. You can also try a silky sleeveless blouse or even a tailored vest—both are easy ways to instantly dress up your denim shorts while keeping things cool and comfortable. Turn on your JavaScript to view content 3. Try a Blazer A blazer is one of the easiest ways to instantly elevate denim shorts. Throw one on—like this gorgeous style by Veronica Beard in a soft stone color—over a white tee or button-down for a look that’s polished yet relaxed. It’s a versatile combo that works for brunch, errands, even dinner out. BTW, this impeccably tailored blazer comes with done-for-you ruched sleeves—something this busy working mom seriously appreciates! Opt for lightweight fabrics like linen or cotton blends during warmer months to keep things breathable. And if it’s too warm? Just take it off. Personally, I’m always cold indoors, so I’m almost always glad I brought one along! And, Yes–I understand heat. I lived in south Texas for eight years! Turn on your JavaScript to view content 4. Add Smart Accessories Speaking of accessories… this is where you can really add style and polish. A chic belt instantly defines the waist and adds visual interest. Try an impactful statement necklace or gorgeous earrings to elevate your look. Sporty or glam sunglasses are a must—not just for sun protection, but for that effortless style boost. And don’t overlook your handbag—it’s not just functional, it truly completes the outfit. Choose a structured crossbody in a neutral tone with minimal hardware for that luxe-but-easy vibe. Belts, jewelry, sunglasses, and a great bag—these are the finishing touches that make your outfit feel intentional and stylish. I chose accessories in similar tones, but they don’t have to match perfectly. A little contrast can add just the right amount of interest! Turn on your JavaScript to view content 5. Choose the Right Shoes Your shoe choice can completely change the vibe of your denim shorts outfit. Instead of defaulting to sneakers or flip-flops, reach for dressier sandals, slides, or espadrilles to elevate the look. Want to create the illusion of longer legs? Go for a color that blends with your skin tone—this simple switch instantly lengthens your silhouette. These espadrille leather platform sandals by 22élevé are not only gorgeous, they add some extra height without compromising comfort.  Turn on your JavaScript to view content BONUS—Dark Wash Jean Shorts I know many of you don’t love the look of distressed jeans or shorts. That’s why I wanted to also share these paper bag shorts by Frame. The pleats, longer inseam, and adjustable belt make them a more elevated option—perfect if you want something that is more tailored but will still keep you cool in the hotter months. They also feature generously sized pockets and a flattering high waist. Style them with the same espadrille sandals I showed above, or try some slip-on sandals for a more laid-back look. Turn on your JavaScript to view content wear with confidence No matter what you wear, confidence is your most powerful accessory. When you feel good, you look good—and that energy is what people notice first. So whether you’re new to wearing denim shorts again or you’re just looking for a fresh way to style them, trust your instincts, embrace your body, and wear what makes you feel amazing. And let go of the opinions of those around you. That’s real style. Source link

Stylish Family and Dog Outfit Ideas for Weekend Outings
Weekends are meant for family time—whether it’s hiking through the park, strolling through the local farmers’ market, or just a cozy brunch at your favorite café. But let’s be real, a weekend outing is not complete without looking cute and coordinated as a family. And, of course, we can’t forget our furry friends—dogs deserve to be part of the fun, too!
At 15 Buttons, we believe that matching outfits aren’t just for special occasions—they can be an everyday adventure. So, if you’re thinking about stepping out in style with your family and dog, we’ve got you covered with stylish family and dog outfit ideas that are perfect for every weekend outing. From casual looks to fun, sporty vibes, here’s how you can coordinate your family and pet outfits without skipping a beat.
Why Match Your Family and Dog?
First things first—why match? Besides the obvious cuteness overload, there are a few solid reasons to try coordinated outfits for your whole family, including your dog:
Bonding Time: Matching outfits are a fun way to bring your family closer together. It’s a playful tradition that makes any outing feel special, even a casual trip to the park.
Family Photos: Let’s be honest, everyone loves a good family photo op. Coordinating outfits make these moments even more memorable. Plus, you’ll be the envy of all your friends on social media.
A Cohesive Look: A family that matches is a family that looks together. It’s an easy way to create a polished, stylish look without too much effort.
So whether you’re going for something laid-back or looking to make a bold statement, we have stylish ideas for everyone—two-legged and four-legged family members alike.
Casual Cool: Weekend Comfort in Coordinated Tees and Denim
A great starting point for any weekend outing is the classic combo of matching T-shirts and denim. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and style, making it ideal for a relaxed day out with your loved ones—and your dog, of course!
Family Look: Matching Graphic Tees
Start with fun graphic tees for everyone. Whether it’s a simple phrase like “Good Vibes Only” or a design that reflects your family’s personality (maybe a playful quote like “Dog Mom,” “Dad’s Best Friend,” or “Team Human & Pup”), matching shirts create an instant cohesive look. Pair these with your favorite jeans, chinos, or even denim shorts for a laid-back vibe.
Dog Look: Bandanas or Tees
For your dog, go with a coordinating bandana or a matching doggie tee. A bandana with a fun pattern or color that matches the family’s shirts ties the look together perfectly. You can even get creative and design custom T-shirts for your dog that echo the family’s graphic tee. Imagine “Paw-some Pup” or “Life of the Party” for the family’s favorite canine.
This combination is great for everything from park picnics to casual weekend brunches. Everyone will look effortlessly chic while feeling comfortable enough to enjoy the day.
Sporty and Fun: Athletic Vibes for Active Families
For families who love an active weekend—whether it's a bike ride, a hike, or playing a round of mini-golf—sporty outfits are the way to go. This style is all about comfort and practicality but with a cool factor that says, “we look good even when we’re moving!”
Family Look: Athleisure Chic
Athleisure is the key to sporty, stylish weekend outfits. Match some sleek, high-waisted leggings or joggers with sporty tees or zip-up hoodies. Choose colors that coordinate but allow for individuality (maybe Dad in navy blue, Mom in light grey, and the kids in pops of color). It’s comfortable, breathable, and versatile—perfect for everything from a jog to a game of catch.
Dog Look: Dog Jogger Sets or Sporty Accessories
Your dog deserves to be part of the athleisure fun too! A matching dog hoodie or a lightweight dog sweater with stripes or sporty patterns is a great way to coordinate. For warmer days, a bandana or a breathable mesh harness can also give your pup that sporty vibe without overheating.
This sporty family and dog look works well for activities that require movement and energy—think dog-friendly outdoor events, sports games, or nature walks.
Chic and Comfortable: Dressy Casual Outings with a Touch of Elegance
Not every weekend outing calls for T-shirts and joggers. If you’re planning a slightly dressier weekend outing, like a family brunch or a trip to a winery, a chic but comfortable look is essential. Dressing up doesn’t mean sacrificing comfort, and it’s easy to pull off a coordinated look that’s effortlessly stylish.
Family Look: Soft Dresses and Casual Blazers
For the ladies, a flowy, comfortable dress that pairs well with sneakers is a great option. Think soft pastel colors, florals, or stripes for a clean, spring-like look. For the men, a casual blazer or light jacket over a plain T-shirt or button-up shirt pairs perfectly with chinos or denim.
Dog Look: Matching Pet Jackets or Sweaters
For the dog, consider a smart doggie sweater or a cute little jacket that matches the family’s color scheme. Your dog can rock the "chic" look with ease. A light grey sweater to match Mom’s dress, or a navy jacket that complements Dad’s casual blazer, will make your pup look like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
This combination is perfect for outings that require a bit more polish, like a visit to an art gallery, a stylish café, or even a weekend wedding.
Cozy Winter Outfits: Stay Warm and Stylish
As the weather cools down, staying warm while looking good becomes a priority. The best way to stay stylish during those chilly weekend outings is with cozy layers that are still cute enough for photos!
Family Look: Cozy Sweaters and Boots
Think oversized, comfy sweaters for Mom and the kids, and a cozy knit sweater for Dad. Paired with leggings or denim jeans, this look is practical yet stylish. Throw on a scarf and boots, and everyone will look like they’re ready for a mountain retreat or a cozy weekend in the city.
Dog Look: Dog Sweaters and Booties
For the dog, a chunky knit sweater or a hoodie with a little pom-pom on top will match the family’s cozy vibe. If it’s really cold, consider dog booties to keep your pup’s paws protected from the snow or ice. Trust us, nothing’s cuter than a tiny dog in a sweater, and it’s just as functional as it is adorable.
This winter family and dog combo will keep you warm, stylish, and ready to take on the colder months with confidence.
Conclusion: Perfectly Coordinated and Ready to Go
Weekend outings are a chance to bond, enjoy some fresh air, and make memories. But the icing on the cake? Looking adorable while doing it. Coordinating your family’s and your dog’s outfits is not just about looking good—it’s about celebrating the love and joy you share. Whether it’s a casual day at the park, a sporty adventure, or a dressy outing, 15 Buttons has you covered with stylish, comfortable, and functional outfit ideas for the whole family, including your furry friend.
So next time you’re getting ready for a weekend outing, remember: matching outfits aren’t just for special occasions—they’re for every day. Because nothing says "family time" like a perfectly coordinated look, and nothing beats the smile of a dog wearing matching gear.
Are you ready to take on the weekend in style? Let’s get matching!

After a long, cold winter, we’re finally getting a taste of early spring here in Philly—and I’m more than ready to trade heavy coats for lighter layers. Spring jackets are one of my favorite ways to finish an outfit and keep things feeling fresh during the in-between weather. Today I’m sharing a few of my current go-to styles, plus a big roundup of more casual spring jackets to check out at the end of the post. EVEREVE Rocky Two Pocket Utility Jacket The Rocky Two Pocket Utility Jacket from EVEREVE is another favorite this spring—and probably the most versatile of the bunch (at least for me!). The black color makes it incredibly easy to mix and match with just about everything in my closet. The style itself is equally easy to wear, thanks to the 21″ length and comfortable stretch fabric. I love the little details on this one—the utility-style chest pockets, seamed sleeves, and the stand collar you can either pop for extra style or fold back to open up the neckline. It’s one of those jackets that just works. I styled it over the same FRAME v-neck tee with blue denim flares and white leather sneakers, but the possibilities are endless. I’ve worn it with leopard pumps for a dressier twist, and it would look just as good layered over stripes, pastels, or even a bold pop of color. EVEREVE Rocky Two Pocket Utility Jacket (M) // FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck (XS) // Pistola Kinsley Flare (29) // similar belt // Paul Green Hadley (8) // rag & bone Daily Straw Tote // Celine sunglasses // Anna Beck toggle necklace Also, if you like this jacket but aren’t into black, the EVEREVE Camp Jacket is almost identical. It’s made from a linen-blend fabric and comes in Sand, Sage Green, and Navy—three beautiful, seasonal colors that are perfect for spring. KUT from the Kloth Amanda Boxy Twill Jacket The KUT from the Kloth Amanda Jacket has been around for a few seasons—and for good reason. This military-inspired jacket is made from soft, stretchy twill and has a slightly boxy fit. The longer 23 ½” length is still cropped enough to look current, but it offers a little more coverage than some of the shorter styles out there. I styled the strawberry pink version last year with a classic white v-neck tee and my go-to wide-leg crop jeans (last day they’re on sale!). Raffia sandals and a straw clutch kept the look light and seasonal. Sadly, the pink is sold out now, but it’s still available in four great neutrals. KUT from the Kloth Amanda Boxy Jacket (S) // similar tee (S) // PAIGE Anessa Wide Leg Crop Jeans (29) // Sam Edelman Bambi (8) // similar belt (M) // straw clutch // Lagos earrings I also wore the Amanda in Tree (a deep olive green) last fall with wide-leg jeans and boots. (By the way, these jeans are a great under-$100 option if you’re looking for a full-length, medium-wash wide leg!) This look is easy to adapt for spring—just swap in sandals or white sneakers for a lighter, warm-weather vibe. Kut from the Kloth Amanda Boxy Twill Jacket (S) // AllSaints Stevie Cotton T-Shirt (M) // Hint of Blu Wide Leg Jeans (29) // Blondo Emmalyn Boots (8.5) // similar belt // JW PEI handbag // similar earrings // Tom Ford sunglasses  And here’s the same jacket in both the Tree and Ecru shades, styled with a black-and-white striped tee, flare jeans, and my cream-and-coral adidas sneakers. It’s a simple combo that works with either color. Kut from the Kloth Amanda Boxy Twill Jacket (S) // Boden Ella Short Sleeve Breton (M) // MOTHER The Weekend Fray (29) // adidas Handball Spezial (also at Nordstrom) (8) Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast For a more tailored option, the Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast Cropped Sweatshirt Peacoat strikes the perfect balance of form and function. Made from 100% cotton fleece, it has all the structure of a classic peacoat—complete with notched lapels, double-breasted horn buttons, and patch pockets—but with the soft, stretchy comfort of your favorite sweatshirt. The cropped silhouette, contrasting buttons, scrunchable sleeves, and statement collar make it feel modern and wearable, whether you’re dressing it up or throwing it on with jeans. I styled it here over the white Patrick Popover Henley, paired with stretchy pull-on jeans and boat shoes for a casual, preppy vibe. Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast c/o // F&E Patrick Popover Henley c/o (S) // F&E Derry Pull-On Jeans c/o (30) // Jeffrey Campbell Boast Boat Shoe (8.5) // similar bag Splendid Diana French Terry Blazer The Splendid Diana French Terry Blazer is a more affordable alternative to the Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast. Sizes are a bit limited in the navy, but it also comes in a crisp white for spring. It’s also made from 100% cotton French terry fabric and features a similar double-breasted button closure, patch pockets, and raw edge detailing. The biggest differences are the Diana blazer isn’t quite as thick or roomy, and it doesn’t have the contrasting horn buttons that give the F&E version its standout look. That said, I do love that the navy here is a true navy—whereas the Frank & Eileen British Royal Navy can read almost black in certain lighting. I styled this jacket here over a periwinkle blue cowl neck top with ecru denim and warm brown accents in the shoes, belt, and bag. This is a soft, spring-ready color combo I really love! Splendid Diana French Terry Blazer (S) // EVEREVE Gia Cowl (S) // MOTHER Tomcat in Ecru (39) // Schutz Arissa (8) // similar belt // LV Neverfull (option) I also wore this jacket while traveling to and from Nashville last weekend: on the way down with a white tee and blue jeans, and on the way back with a fun coral and navy graphic tee, the same jeans, and sneakers. It’s a great layer for travel—lightweight, comfortable, and easy to throw on over just about anything. Also, these jeans are on sale for one more day! They’re super stretchy and comfortable, and they may run just a bit big; I’m very comfortable in the size 29. LEFT: Splendid Diana French Terry Blazer (S) // Sanctuary tee (M) // Citizens Palma (29) // Paul Green Hadley (8) // similar belt // similar camera bag // LAGOS earrings // Anna Beck station necklace // AWAY The Bigger Carry-On // Goyard tote (option) RIGHT: Clare V. Ciao Classic Tee (L) // Citizens Palma (29) // Paul Green Hadley (8) // Splendid Diana (S) // Jenny Bird earrings // Anna Beck toggle necklace // similar camera bag Tommy Bahama Two Palms Linen Raw Edge Jacket Finally, when you want to level up, the Tommy Bahama Two Palms Linen Raw Edge Jacket is a great piece to have on hand, and it comes in a bunch of colors. I styled the black one last spring over a printed woven tank with white jeans and finished the outfit with black wedge sandals to tie it all together for a polished feel. Step Up Your Style: Trendy Outfit Ideas to Rock Ankle Boots
So, you’ve got a pair of those-so-stylish ankle boots in your closet, and you're itching to show them off, right? But here’s the thing—styling womens ankle boots can sometimes be tricky. No worries! We've got your back, whether you're aiming for a casual vibe or going full glam. Let's dive into some trendy outfit ideas that will have you strutting your stuff with confidence. Get ready to step up your style game!
1. Casual Chic: Denim & Ankle Boots
When in doubt, go with denim. Pairing ankle boots with your favorite jeans is a classic combo that never fails. Skinny jeans are a go-to, as they tuck perfectly into your shoes, showing them off in all their glory. Roll up the cuffs to let those boots shine, adding a touch of effortless cool to your look.
Pro Tip: Don’t Be Afraid of Color
Who says your women's ankle boots have to be black or brown? Opt for a bold, burgundy or metallic finish to make a statement. Pair them with neutral-toned jeans and a sweater to let the boots do the talking. You'll turn heads, guaranteed.
2. Sophisticated Edge: Ankle Boots & Midi Skirts
Want to elevate your ankle boot game? Pair them with a midi skirt. This combination is not only chic but also super versatile. Whether heading to the office or out for brunch, this outfit covers you.
A flowy, pleated midi skirt adds a touch of femininity, while women's ankle boots bring that perfect hint of edge. Midi skirts look fab with heeled and flat ankle boots, so you can choose based on your mood (or how much walking you'll be doing).
3. Glam Up: Dresses & Ankle Boots
Who says you can't be fancy in ankle boots? Dresses and ankle boots are a match made in fashion heaven. Whether you wear a flirty mini dress or a flowy maxi, the proper boots can take your look to the next level.
For a night out, choose a pair of heeled ankle boots and pair them with a bit of black dress (LBD). Add some statement earrings, and you’re all set to dance the night away. If you're aiming for something more daytime-appropriate, a floral maxi dress with flat ankle boots is your best bet. It’s comfortable, stylish, and effortlessly cool.
Mix It Up with Textures
Experiment with different textures to make your outfit pop. Suede womens ankle boots paired with a silk or velvet dress create a luxurious vibe for those special occasions. Or, mix a leather dress with patent leather boots for a look that's all about contrast and attitude.
4. Off-Duty Cool: Ankle Boots & Leggings
When comfort is critical, leggings are your best friend. But don't think for a second that leggings can’t be stylish. Pair them with women's ankle boots and a long, oversized sweater or tunic, and you’ve got an outfit that’s as cozy as it is chic.
The key here is balance. If your leggings are form-fitting, go for a loose and flowy top. This keeps the look polished rather than gym-ready. And if you’re feeling extra trendy, throw on an oversized scarf or a fedora to complete the look.
Elevate with Layers
A long cardigan, a cropped jacket, or vest can add dimension to your look, making your women's ankle boots stand out even more.
Conclusion
There you have it—four fabulous ways to rock your women's ankle boots with confidence and flair. Whether you're keeping it casual, getting glam, or somewhere in between, these outfit ideas will ensure that your ankle boots take centre stage. So step up your style game and show the world what you’ve got!
Remember, the key to any great outfit is confidence. So whatever you choose to wear, own it and strut your stuff like the fashionista you are!

The Best Drones for Photos and Video
If you’re an aspiring aerial photographer or videographer, drones are your ticket to the sky.
They provide perspectives that you’d otherwise be able to re-create only with expensive equipment such as cranes or dollies, which is why these cheap, lightweight marvels have become a staple of many online creators’ gear lists.
But you can find dozens of different models—sometimes even from a single brand—with various costs and benefits to sift through. After test-flying 33 drones, we’ve concluded that the DJI Air 3 is the best because it combines a high-quality main camera, useful telephoto camera, and the latest autonomous technology in a light-enough and relatively affordable package.
The DJI Air 3 is easy to fly, has an ample 46-minute battery life, and is equipped with two cameras, giving you options for more varied and interesting shots than its predecessor. We recommend the Fly More combo option because it’s the only package that includes the DJI RC 2 controller, which features a built-in screen and is a marked improvement over the standard controller that relies on your phone’s screen for live view.
The Air 3 can sense and avoid obstacles approaching from all directions, adding side sensing that our previous pick lacked. These new sensing abilities make the ActiveTrack feature, which directs the drone to autonomously follow and film a subject while also avoiding obstacles, easier to use in more situations.
It can hold its position steadily, even in moderate winds, so you can focus on your cinematography. And the Air 3 can go with you almost anywhere. Measuring 8 by 3.5 by 3.25 inches folded and weighing roughly 1.5 pounds, it fits well in most standard size backpacks.
The DJI Mavic 3 Pro takes many of the best features of the Air 3 and, for a little more than twice the price, ups the camera count to three. Not only do you get a Hasselblad-branded 24mm-equivalent wide-angle lens with a Four Thirds sensor, but there are also two telephoto lenses: a 70mm-equivalent with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 166mm-equivalent with a 1/2-inch sensor.
Thanks to the comparatively huge sensor on the main camera, the Mavic 3 Pro can capture more detail than our other picks and in a much wider band of lighting conditions. As a result, it produces better images right out of the camera but also gives editing software more data to work with to improve the images even further.
This model can capture vibrant, detailed still images with its three cameras, and its video—at up to 5.1K resolution—looks more color-accurate than that of the competition. It also has a 43-minute battery life, which isn’t the longest we’ve ever seen (our top pick beats it by a bit) in our tests but comes pretty close.
If you’re just getting into drone photography, especially for personal use, the DJI Mini 3 is a fantastic starter package. Though it costs less than half as much as our top pick, it still offers a 4K camera, a long (38-minute) battery life, and a compact, lightweight build that just slides under the FAA’s 250-gram limit.
The Mini 3’s camera and sensor aren’t as high-quality as those of the Air 3, but the f/1.7 aperture provides surprisingly good image quality in lower-light conditions.
This model also comes with all the important features you need from a video drone, such as image and flight stabilization, an included controller, and smart flight modes, in which the drone flies itself to easily capture cinematic shots. But it lacks the obstacle-avoidance sensors of more expensive models.
You have the option to extend the battery life to 51 minutes via DJI’s Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, but using that add-on makes the drone heavy enough that you have to register it with the FAA.
If you are avoiding the DJI brand due to security or human-rights concerns, or if you want a 6K camera, we recommend the Autel Robotics Evo Lite+.
This drone can fly for up to 40 minutes with autonomous options similar to those of DJI drones. And unlike the DJI Fly app, the Autel Sky app is available for direct download from the Google Play store.
However, we still prefer DJI drones for their value and image quality.

There’s pretty much nothing I love more than a classic white tee and denim combo. It’s classic, easy, and endlessly wearable; but even the best basics can start to feel a little repetitive. Whenever that happens, I like to switch things up in small ways that still feel true to my style. These are a few of my favorite ways to wear a white tee right now—all simple ideas that make this everyday staple feel fresh again. Classic Combo: White Tee, Jeans + A Great Jacket This is hands down my favorite outfit formula for transitional seasons. You really don’t need a ton of different tops—just a few good basics and a variety of outfit-completing jackets. Swapping out the outer layer is one of the easiest ways to make a simple tee-and-jeans look feel new again. This Rocky Two Pocket Utility is a perfect example. It’s super flattering, and the stretchy rayon-twill fabric makes it really comfortable too. I styled it with my favorite v-neck tee and flare jeans, then kept things casual with white leather sneakers. A belt, pendant necklace, and a pair of chic sunglasses pull the whole look together. I also love how the raffia tote with black leather straps ties in with the belt and the jacket—it gives the outfit a cohesive finish without feeling too matchy. Rocky Two Pocket Utility (M) // FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck Tee -25% off (XS) (option) // Pistola Kinsley Flare (29) // similar belt // white sneakers (8) // straw tote // Anna Beck necklace // Celine sunnies Here’s another look with the same tee, jeans, sneakers, and belt—but this time I swapped in my Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast. It was a chilly, rainy night in Florida, and this jacket was the perfect mix of cozy and chic. Frank & Eileen Mini Belfast in navy (S) // FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck Tee – 25% off (XS) (option) // Pistola Kinsley (29) // similar belt // Paul Green Hadley (8) // Anna Beck necklace Preppy Twist: Tee with a Sweater Draped Over This one’s such a classic look, but for years, we didn’t really see it around. Lately, though, the sweater-over-the-shoulders trend is everywhere—draped over everything from dresses to other sweaters. A t-shirt makes the perfect base for this preppy-inspired style. It might feel a little fussy at first, but after trying it a few times, I’m hooked. It actually adds a bit of extra warmth, and I love how it brings in a pop of color, pattern, or texture to a simple tee-and-jeans outfit. In this case, the chartreuse cardigan is such a fun way to brighten up the white cap sleeve tee and wide-leg crop jeans. It adds just the right amount of color without overwhelming the look. Z Supply Camino Top (L) // Splendid Dre Cardigan (S) // PAIGE Anessa – 25% off (29) (budget option) // similar belt // Veronica Beard Via (8) (budget option) // similar bag Elevated Basics: Just Add Accessories Sometimes all you need is a great white tee and blue jeans—then it’s the accessories that really make the outfit. Whether it’s a bold belt, statement earrings, a chic bag, polished sunglasses, or a combination of all four, those little details go a long way. I love how the right accessories can make even the simplest look feel styled and intentional without adding any bulk or layers. This was one of my favorite date night outfits from last summer. When a look is this simple, the key is making sure the fit is just right—and that each piece has a little something extra to keep it interesting. This tee has a dramatic V-neck and abbreviated cap sleeves, and it’s made from a beautiful Peruvian Pima cotton. The wide-leg jeans add a bold, on-trend element. I finished the look with bold raffia earrings, a statement bracelet, layered necklace, belt, and a straw clutch. FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck Tee (XS) (option) // similar MOTHER Roller – 25% off (29) // similar belt // similar Kork-Ease sandals (8) // straw clutch // rattan earrings // similar layer necklace // similar bracelets This outfit is from my Maine vacation last summer, featuring the same tee—this time paired with dramatic gaucho jeans and my comfy Birks. FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck Tee – 25% off (XS) (option) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans (29) // Birks (39) // similar hoops // similar necklace And here’s another look from my Florida trip (I shared it above with the sweater, but here it is without). This tee is another great option and a really good value, but I recommend sizing up. Also, definitely don’t put it in the dryer—I did, and now it’s way too small. Z Supply Camino Top (L) // PAIGE Anessa – 25% off (29) (budget option) // similar belt // Veronica Beard Via (8) (budget option) // similar bag And finally—one from last summer with a denim skirt! I know, it’s rare to see me in one, but I did wear this look one day last summer. This skirt is actually part of the Saks Friends & Family Sale, which ends today, so if you’ve been thinking about trying one, now’s a great time. I also found a lighter wash version on even deeper discount at Saks OFF 5TH. I styled this look with a gorgeous woven tote, coordinating slide sandals, and a pair of rattan drop earrings for a touch of texture. FRAME Le Mid Rise V-Neck Tee – 25% off (XS) (option) // Rails Highland Denim Skirt – 25% off (8) (50% off this color) (budget option) // similar slides (budget option) // Dragon Diffusion tote // rattan earrings And that’s a wrap! I hope this gives you a little outfit inspiration for styling your favorite white tee. Which look is your favorite? Let me know below! This is a friendly place to discuss all matters of fashion and style with other women, share your outfits, get advice, and stay up to date on all the happenings in our community. Source link
