I picked and chose a few prompts not really caring to make it the right prompts for the days, and for the rest of the month I'm just gonna mix and match them (more like taking the day 29 prompts and using them tomorrow kind of mix and match)

Or how about Floyd, who came back as promised only to find the Troll Tree devoid of life and Rosiepuff's pod empty, going grey as he mourns baby Branch whom he thinks got eaten?

Hey so! Totally fun (and not hurtful at all) fact-!

For Trolls Band Together, the story the writers wanted to go with (according to the Artbook and novelization), implies that Brozone's disbandment happens before Bergen Town is even a thing, which has such severe implications to me.

Mostly out of curiosity, what's your preferred theory on how reincarnation works in Rain World?

I personally lean towards the first two options I listed because they break the least other things (like evolution) but i've included revival as well since I've seen it a fair bit. I'm not aware of any other theories so I'm sorry if i've missed some obvious ones out! If a lot of people write 'other' I'll redo the poll.

1. Timeline Fracture: after a creature dies it wakes up at some point before it died in a new timeline. It remains the same individual as it was before. The creature stays dead in the original timeline. This is the most literal interpretation of the games mechanics combined with lore.

2. Classic Reincarnation: after a creature dies it is born in a new body of the same or a different species in the same timeline. This theory is more in line with the spiritual inspirations behind the game's lore.

3. Revival: After a creature dies, it wakes up again as the same individual in the same timeline at a different point in time and/or a different place.

Thinking about Spark and Capsize's ghost.

Thinking about Spark being haunted by a woman and having the painful realisation that she was younger than his own children. Capsize as a ghost that doesn't quite realise the man she’s haunting isn't the man she resented, given the opportunity to live when she wasn't.

He doesn't even realise at first that it is her, after all he was searching for when she latched onto him was this world's Dianite, and the poltergeist-like behaviour, especially constantly trying to tug him back towards the Nether portal, never seemed out of line behaviour for the god. The first time she calms, giving him pause on who exactly has latched onto him as it makes no sense to him that the god they're trying to revive would be calmed by the ocean. This suspicion of something being off ends up confirmed when she finally manifests into something that can be seen, never for very long, but long enough to see she isn't the god of chaos.

And it's confusing, though they write it off as a mistake, one they don’t have the knowledge (or really the want) to correct. She doesn't seem in complete control of herself, but even her more violent actions are manageable (Jeriah has his concerns that Conway can handle it as well as he insists, but they don't have a way to change who the spirit is latched to). And Spark very quickly adjusts to her presence and, even if she still feels like a poltergeist sometimes, she seems to be adjusting to him too. She still can only communicate by messing with physical objects, but that's a method at least, and she stops throwing things directly at him to get his attention, stops pulling on his hair or wings to try and make him move somewhere. She calms, realising this isn't the man she'd found herself so resentful of.

It's almost strange when those escaping his world appear (minus the other him and the other Mot, who have somehow been lost in transit). Because he has to face the reality, his family has been torn apart, only two besides him left alive -- because his home is apparently completely gone. And that's... devastating, but he watches as the spirit makes her presence known to the other champions, the joy and excitement they have at seeing her makes him smile despite everything.

i was going to crack a joke about how the only thing on my lore wishlist for the dlc was that they would finally explain why the hell marika got impaled and crucified on the elden ring. and then it occurred to me that our one canon named boss so far is an archetypical erdtree traitor-styled demigod quite literally titled the impaler
