Ok we’ve had nests for barely a day and I’ve already found some interesting things—

It all started when I was chilling in my nest when an unlit rando honked. That’s strange, I thought. I thought we were alone in the nests apart from friends! (I think what happened is that they tried the thing where STAR pin owners can teleport to strangers who also have them, since they had the star owner symbol on them) I tried following them, but they teleported home.

A minute or two later, another rando (the same as the first or different I don’t know) honked, but this time from outside my nest’s window, seeming distressed. I chibi’d my way out through a slope to meet them and explored the nesting area from outside, where I found two things of note (pictures taken after the rando left):

The bell tower, not really “interesting” ig but it looks like a nice place to chill, and…

A meditation circle (on the nest’s right). That alone is fairly noteworthy, but that’s just the screenshot without the UI:

So, clearly some interesting things are gonna happen to the Aviary this season—that alone was quite apparent just from the season’s announcement. But I have to wonder…

What’s gonna happen to our beloved Aviary this season for the town square to be named “MAIN STREET”?!

This might like- break some of y’all’s hearts (or not! He was an ASS) but Azazel was ALWAYS meant to die at the end. He was meant to sacrifice himself for his sibling, and it would be his one and only concrete act of growth. And- Hei too- but I didn’t draw him here because I got ✨lazy✨ and they also just turn into a lil star

Krill was (alongside Krab, but I’ll reveal everything another time) meant to almost join the darkness again…and that would be when Azazel would realize that, due to their new form, their new nature, being turned back to the darkness is actually actively harmful to Krill rather than healthy and natural. And that they’re just suffering through it to be with their brother again. And that’s when Azazel would intervene and put an end to it, effectively sacrificing himself for them, like he had always wanted to (because- they sacrificed their life for him, he always felt oh so guilty about it, all that TASTY stuff~)

Moving on ~

Y’know I actually toyed with the idea of a whale elder a lot, and were I to remake the story, I’d actually add her in. As a force of strength, neutrality, wilderness. Literally « a force of nature not to be reckoned with ». Here’s something I threw at my friend @altra-tes actually, to accompany the art :

I, of course, LOVED the leviathan and the manatees ??? So I REALLY wanted to draw some art of them as…sky…kids? Well, the manatee at least. They’re a sweet lil shy baby, pretty short and quiet, but really gentle overall, loves to play

“Hey, um, are those two...okay?”Sky asks, voice gentle but full of concern as he gestures for the group to look wherever he is.

They find Legend and Four asleep. It wouldn’t be that weird, if they weren’t laying the way they are.

Legend is starfished out on the grass, one hand resting behind his head while the other is looped around Four’s torso, and speaking of—the smithy is laying on top of Legend, cheek smushed up against Legend’s shoulder. Their hair is covering their eyes, but it doesn’t take a genius to know that the hero is out cold. Both seem to be, actually.

“Well. They look comfy.”Twilight mumbles, barely suppressing a chuckle as Wild takes a picture on his slate.

“How is Four comfortable like that?”

“Don’t question it, Wind,”Warriors starts, then lets out a sigh. “I can feel the question already, and it’s because it’s Four and you’ll never get an answer.”

“They’re so precious.”Sky coos, and it almost looks like his eyes have stars in them. Almost.

“Sky, you always say that, even when Four is sleep deprived and looks about ready to kill us all at a minor inconvenience.”Time points out, but gets ignored as Sky simply wanders over to drape his sailcloth over the two.

How big is Minnish Minnow? Minnowish? Mini? I know you mentioned small, but how small are we talking in relation to the others? I worry about him ><

SO SO SMALL. here is a comparison with Sky and Legend! Sky is a respectable height- think average human size. Legend is a bit shorter than Sky. Minish? he is like 1 FOOT TALL

The stress of accidentally squashing him is REAL! fortunately he is very loud, and very fast, and can always dart out of the way if somebody doesn't notice him and tries to swim into him

A challenge for NMS players

I had a thought.

There are over 18 quintillion planets in this game. Those planets make up a LOT of star systems. So there is a decent possibility that at least one of those systems will have planets in it whose colours in the Discovery tab make up/match a pride flag.

This is the challenge. We must locate our homeworlds. We must find the Gay Systems.
