drag racer!toji hcs
Tumblr media
wc : idk :3
content : fem reader, modern!au, no curses!au, suggestive (?) content (reader strips), toji calls reader "minx" and "doll", reader is described to be smaller than toji, slightly oblivious reader, profanity
notes : read this for some context ! drag racer!toji *vibrates* i need. . . to expand on him. . .
Tumblr media
whenever you seem upset about something, toji always tries to cheer you up. he may not be a man of many words, but he always finds other ways to lift your spirits.
after a bad day, you decided to hang around toji's mechanic shop. he's always had a keen eye, so it's no surprise that he picked up on your somber mood quite swiftly. he decides to swing by the break room and grabs two cold cans of your favorite drink. "here, thought this'd cheer y'up." he says, reluctantly offering you the chilled drink with a sheepish expression on his face, avoiding your gaze. "how'd you know i even like this?" you ask, gratefully accepting the metal can that began to sweat under the summer's heat, pressing it to your warm cheek. "saw some empty cans of it when you dropped off y'r ride off to get it detailed," toji replies as he settles his large frame beside the set of stairs you were seated on. "you know," he begins as he cracks his own can open, "y'should keep that ride of yours cleaner. s' a stunner of a car, that's for sure." but his words seemingly go in one ear and out the other. the fact that he remembered such a small detail about you makes you forget whatever had upset you earlier.
rivals to lovers. . . mayhaps. . .
one day, you and toji got into a small argument over who's smarter out of the two of you. so, to settle the quarrel, you both decided on taking one of those completely-bullshit online tests.
as you were diligently taking this "free iq test," you couldn't help but notice toji repeatedly clicking the "c" option. . . for every single question. jokingly, you asked, "why are you choosing 'c' for everything? do you wanna lose?" with the biggest shit-eating grin spread across his scarred lips, toji replied, "well, when in doubt pick 'c', right?" in that moment, your expression changed from shock to amusement. shaking your head and laughing, you couldn't believe that of all people, toji was the one you couldn't get over.
unsurprisingly, toji is really street-smart
one time, the cops raided a race that you and toji were supposed to participate in. as you were hurrying to get to your car to make a quick getaway, you noticed toji struggling to open the door to one of his older cars that he chose to race in that night.
"fushiguro! leave it, we don't have any time!" you shout at toji over the loud commotion and sirens. "they're gonna tow my ride!" toji growls back, growing more impatient at the stuck door handle. "you're worried about the wrong thing right now. just get in my car, shiu'll figure something out! he always gets everyone's shit back if the price is right." you reason. toji notices how your tone only grew increasingly concerned, so he begrudgingly complies. "fine, fine. i'll go with you. jus' drop me off at the shop. or swing us around the spot for a bite, all this crap has got my stomach grumblin'." he sighs as he ducks down into the passenger seat of your car, clicking his seatbelt on. you raise a brow at his notorious freeloader suggestions. "your a real piece of work, fushiguro, y'know that?" you joke as you pull out of the crowded meet-up scene. "s' only fair! you don't ask a guy out and not buy him some grub," he huffs, jokingly crossing his arms across his broad chest and turning to face the window. "that is definitely not what the saying is, and i definitely did not ask you on a date!" you exclaim, exasperated. toji really is something else.
another time, you stopped by toji's shop hoping he could walk you through an oil change on one of your older cars. the truth was, you already knew how to do it, but you just wanted to spend some time with toji.
"tojiiii?" you called out in a sing-song tone, but he was nowhere in sight. it wasn't until he heard your honeyed voice ringing through the shop that he hopped off his ass and jogged over to greet you, his cheeks stained with grease and his white tank top and jumpsuit covered in it. not that you were complaining, but you wished you could see him wearing his jumpsuit properly instead of with the upper half tied around his well-defined torso. "wha'sup doll? why're you here dressed up nice?" he asked, resting his hands on his hips as he scanned your smaller frame. "thought you could show me how to do an oil change on one of my older cars. . . but i completely forgot how messy this place can get. i shoulda worn something else, huh?" you nervously grinned, not prepared for the possibility of rejection. "oh, yeah! no worries. f'sure i can. i got some spare jumpsuits and tanks you can change into. don't worry 'bout it." your request initially shocked him, but he grew excited at the opportunity to both spend time with you and teach you something. "seriously?! you're the best, toji!" you exclaim, gratefully taking both of his large, calloused hands in yours. toji blushes. "don' mention it. it's nothin'." he replies before retracting one of his hands to run down his face, unable to believe the effect you have on him. he starts to lead you down to his office so you can change into some more appropriate clothing, but he forgets that your hand is still in his. the skin-to-skin contact is short-lived as he lets go of your hand to unlock the office door. "here're the smallest jumpsuit and tank i got. lemme know if y'need anything-" he says, turning to hand you the clothes. however, he soon gets choked up mid-sentence as you've already started stripping your top off in front of him. "yeah! i'll get you toji, don' worry." you reply, your voice muffled from behind your top. clearly, you don't understand the effect you have on toji. "what're you doing, you minx? i'm still in here!" he splutters as he clambers out of his office, both his ears and neck now warm. "fucking christ. . ." he groans, making his way towards the washroom to cool down his face with some water.
after that entire fiasco, toji often played pranks with you while you were under your car changing its oil. he does all sorts of things, from splashing water on the lower half of your frame that hangs from under the car to dragging you out by your ankles. he's so annoying (affectionate).

TADC Gotham Rogues AU
I know, a digital circus au, completely unheard of and original, but I was dressing the cast up as batman villains and liked the designs so much I've decided to make it its own au. This is not something that happened of my own free will, mind you. The demons forced my hand.
I don't have everyone so far, as I still haven't assigned villains to Kinger and Zooble, and I haven't drawn Jax as the Creeper yet, so if any of you have ideas on what to do with those two it would be highly appreciated.
Anyway, here's the designs and some paragraphs on the current stories I have for them.
Tumblr media
First up is Gangle as Two Face! Her design is probably my favourite so far.
Once a respected lawyer, Gangle is a dangerous criminal with an obsession with pairs and an inability to make decisions without her beloved coin. Before that, she was a mayoral candidate and looking to properly expose the Falcone crime family. Rather miraculously, a man who used to work with the Falcones was willing to make a full confession, first to her and then in court. When the court date rolled around, however, he denied ever working with the Falcones at all, making Gangle look a fool.
Her temper was something she had always tried to keep from the press, knowing what it would do to her reputation. It came in the form of her second mask, which while seeming happy, expressed a severe desire for revenge and a sadistic joy. This mask was getting closer to showing the more she pressed the man to fully confess. Suddenly, he cried to the security guards to attack, causing them to jump her and break her mask into dust and tear apart her ribbons.
Unbeknownst to the people in the court, the Falcones had managed to replace the court's guards with their own to attack and hopefully kill Gangle. While they were arrested and Gangle survived, her mask could not be put back together. She never recovered physically nor mentally, her duelling personalities now having to occupy the same body at the same time. She did everything right, and still suffered. Law held no justice. Justice held no law. Someone's fate may as well be left to the simple toss of a coin.
Tumblr media
Caine plays the role of the Riddler, although a bit less narcissistic than the original. He's also not an AI here, as this au is set in the 'real world', but more in a 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' sense. (Humans and cartoony creatures occupying the same world)
Caine did his best to thrive in whatever workplace he could, thinking his abnormally high IQ would surely make life a breeze for him. However, his lack of money made things very difficult for him. He wasn't close with any higher-ups, his constant insistence on changing and improving ideas was found annoying, and his high intelligence was far less appreciated by his co-workers than he thought it would be.
Left alone with his genius and desire for power and respect, he turned to making gadgets of his own, selling them to gain money for more materials to make more overly complicated machines. Alas, he was plagued by his desire to show off and prove himself, so his contraptions became more violent as he turned to selling to the many crime leagues of Gotham. The public barely ever understood his perfectly mind-bending creations, anyway.
Caine was lonely, though, in his brilliance, so he decided to set up what seemed like a harmless intelligence test online, recruiting the top five performers to meet him for one final test. He put them through puzzle after puzzle, watching how they worked under stress and timers, and how they managed with his adventures. To his disappointment, none survived.
Ready to accept being alone at the top, and relatively unaffected by the deaths considering how little of a purpose those victims ended up serving, he was unexpectedly found and apprehended by police. A certain mob boss he had sold some of his best torture devices to had ratted him out in an attempt to lessen his own sentence.
Thrown in Arkham Asylum, Caine realised that this was the path he had to take. Society wasn't ready for his genius. They simply couldn't fathom using it for good, if at all. Perhaps if he showed just how dangerous it could be, his intelligence would finally be given the respect it deserved.
Tumblr media
Next, there's Ragatha as the Ventriloquist. I decided to use Terrible!Ragatha as a replacement for Scarface, who was originally created by @obamerzslop ! I highly recommend checking out his au's, they're what indirectly convinced me to make this. She admittedly doesn't really have T!Ragatha's personality, but she does keep the design.
Ragatha is a meek and relatively gentle woman, her talent for altering and throwing her voice giving her some very good job opportunities in entertainment. Unfortunately, she was always haunted by a voice in the back of her mind. It wanted power. It wanted bloodshed. It was a part of her, yet the two couldn't be more different.
Unable to bare it any longer, Ragatha stole some materials from the studio she worked in and built her own puppet, made from wood and rags. When she was building it, she finally relented to her separate personality and let it control her. It was going to be its body, so it deserved a say in it.
Looking down at the puppet, Ragatha's mind felt less crowded. She put it on her hand, and it immediately started speaking. The puppet now held her separate personality, speaking in its voice. Ragatha thought that maybe now it would be less bloodthirsty, the body being a gift of sorts that would appease it. If anything, the personality got worse.
Going by the name of Dollface, the puppet quickly took control of Ragatha's life. She was a servant to her now. That was when she was forced into a life of crime, serving the now mafia boss, Dollface, and her greedy pursuit of power. Many have made the mistake of claiming the two are the same. That Dollface is a mere puppet that Ragatha could simply remove. None make that mistake twice, as they typically don't live long enough to do so.
Tumblr media
Finally, it's Pomni as the Great White Shark. These villains keep getting progressively more obscure- Whilst she is far more threatening, this Pomni does still obey cartoon logics and physics, much to her displeasure. A part of that is her teeth becoming sharp when stressed/angry, which is why they're always like that now.
Pomni started out as a low-level criminal, pleading insanity at her court case to avoid being sent to prison. Miraculously, it was allowed, although now she thinks it was less because they believed her insane, but more because they thought it would be a good show of the consequences for such lies.
Rather naively, Pomni assumed the insanity of the inmates at Arkham Asylum would make them easy to manipulate, ready to be lead by someone with their head on straight yet an equal desire for chaos and power. She was too confident that she would get respect as 'the Great White Shark', or even be feared. She couldn't have been more wrong.
The prisoners in Arkham tormented her, never letting her forget that she had chosen this hell that they were locked in. It was absurd to have a sane person amongst Gotham's criminally insane, anyway, and they just couldn't stand for that.
As much as she begged, Pomni was given no mercy from the authorities, being written off as just as insane as she had claimed to be in court that day. Over the course of her stay, she began to break more and more, needing a way out before she lost herself completely.
One day, some prisoners organised an escape. Pomni scrambled to leave with them, but was quickly pushed aside. Since they knew how weak she was, she was ignored by the guards, but not by the inmates. In order to completely get her out of the way, she was thrown in the large freezer where most of Mr Freeze's items and weapons were kept. Unfortunately, the weapons were removed first, leaving her with no way out.
Frostbite began to set in. Her nose froze and fell off. She lost a finger on each hand as well as parts of her lips. Her skin turned blue. Eventually, when Mr Freeze was recaptured, one of the police officers went to put his weapons away. That was when they found her.
Pomni had finally snapped. Rather than thank the officer like she once might have done, she pushed through her frozen blood and knocked him down, tearing apart his flesh with her sharpened teeth. She couldn't do much because of her state at the time, but it did mean she was finally viewed as a threat. Her title as the Great White Shark was finally being used. She had lost her mind, but had become far more formidable than she was before. The next time they escaped, she fought her way through. While she is now relatively business-oriented, that violent anger is always there, waiting for the water to be tainted with blood.
That's all I've got for now, which was really long whoops-
I'm pretty proud of this, and hopefully I never make another because good god. This is a lot.

OP from the IQ post I reblogged blocked me, for, I quote, saying that the WAIS test is a valid scientific tool measuring... What it measures. They're comparing IQ tests to astrology and labelling it a marker of privilege. If y'all want to see another example of terminally online anti-science 'leftist' (in quotations marks because this is precisely what leftism must strive to avoid) propaganda, here you have.
Also a heads up, in France IQ tests are being performed for free at hospitals which literally allows people to be eligible for life-long financial help from the state. This is going exactly where progressist discoursed have to go online at some point and that's a pity: a test that actually tells us that people are differently abled isn't a good thing because it tells us people are different and apparently that makes them less worthy... Equality taking over equity as always... Might it be that it's actually the people that are critical of the IQ test that are prejudiced and for some reason consider that getting such or such number makes you less worthy, as opposed to simply meaning you might need help or look for further diagnosis? What do you not understand about the fact IQ measures IQ?

IQ Tests and Success
After a long and satisfying afternoon nap, I suddenly got the urge to setup a blog and take an IQ test. Random right? But doing those things felt right, just like any random and life changing things I've done in the past.
Upon taking a free and 30+ item test, multiple self-depreciating thoughts crossed my mind:
What if I score lower than average?
Should I really be doing this in a nice saturday afternoon?
What would this test contribute to my well being?
After 20-ish minutes of adding up numbers, tracing directions, and basically doubting my intellect, I finished the test (which asked for credit card information that I respectfully skipped).
I got a score of 135 . What does it mean?
After a quick google search, here are what came up: Online IQ tests are fraud.
IQ scores are not measure of success.
My country has an average IQ of 81 (which is not surprising given the political and social conditions of our country).
All in all, taking this test is not completely a waste of time as it gave me an ego boost and something to do apart from beating my 14 hour sleep streak.

SDR Research
Tools
GQRX - Spectrum Analyzer
RFanalyzer - Spectrum Analyzer for Android
Universal Radio Hacker - Investigate Wireless Protocols like a boss
ooktools - On-off keying is used extensively in IoT projects
fldigi - I'm not a big fan of fldigi, but its there for when you need to demodulate a common signal
Tools for more specialty purposes
Salamandra is a tool to find spy microphones
rpitx is a RF transmitter for Raspberry PI
Tactics
You don't need to learn DSP, or get your Ham license to explore radio signals. I didn't. You could even explore interesting signals such as vehicle key fobs without learning either, but learning these things will increase your understanding of signals and aid in your ability to go beyond the limitations of your tools.
Digital Signal Processing
The Scientist and Engineer's Guide to DSP was my introduction to DSP and I highly recommend it. Its free online and can be purchased in physical form.
Think DSP in Python is on my todo list. Also free online can can be purchased in physical form.
HAM Radio
Though I haven't taken the test yet. Covid was a major interruption in my plans, and I also plan to pass all 3 tests in one day. Using my personal test taking process, I would first start by reading No-Nonsense Study Guides.
Then take a pretest. Its important that you read all of the material before you take a pre-test as the goal is to retain knowledge, not just memorize a test. Most of the study should be reading/practicing the material, with few pre-tests as self assessments.
There are plenty of apps on Android (and I imagine IOS) that you can use. You need to get 74% to pass the exam, but I always shoot for 90%. If you get 90% on the pre-test, then move on to taking the actual exam.
If you didn't get 90% on the pre-test. The pre-test should be able to break down your score across various sections. Note the sections you're weakest in. From here, I would recommend switching over to the ARRL study guide as they are more detailed and only study the sections you're weakest end. When you complete all those sections, then take another pre-test and repeat until you're ready to take the exam.
Techniques
Accuracy
Radio is a science, but the tools that we can afford as hobbyists are not accurate. The three issues I face is drift, noise, and clock.
Drift occurs typically from your SDR getting hot and is a problem that grows across the session. To counter drift, you'll need to recalibrate your SDR to a Nation Weather Radio station. Find the frequency used in your area and tune to that frequency. You'll notice that you're probably a little off, this is the fault of your SDR not the National Weather Radio station. Set the offset of your SDR until your frequency of the station matches the one advertised. You'll then want to bookmark this frequency and check back to it every hour to insure that your SDR hasn't drifted.
Noise can interfere with interpreting weak signals (either distant, low powered, or both). To reduce noise and improve your signal collection, I'd suggest these guides for reducing on-site noise sources and external noise sources.
Signal Identification
Most signals are standardized or frequently used that dont require extensive analysis, but just identification.
The Signal Identification Wiki is a great place to start, and if that doesn't work, check out the sub-reddit r/signalidentification
This is an archived site that has a collection of digital signals that you could test your demodulation tools with.
Signal Analysis
Signal analysis is for those proprietary signals. As always, remember your ABC's.
Tumblr media
Radio signals are fleeting. If you don't capture them, they may not repeat themselves. Don't worry about demodulating them at first. Capture the signals, and you can demodulate them at any time later.
Even if you're not able to record IQ data, for example you're listening to someone else's remote radio (there are a lot around the world on the internet), recording the audio which can be analyzed by tools such as fldigi.
I should add a lot more stuff here in the future.
The Signal Identification Wiki is a great place to start, and if that doesn't work, check out the sub-reddit r/signalidentification

Free iIQ Test With Results
Another advantage of free IQ test with results is that it allows students to understand and focus on their intellectual strengths. Old I.Q. tests provided a single score that purported to measure intelligence in the aggregate. According to reports newer I.Q. tests can differentiate between verbal, mathematical and spatial reasoning abilities.

my morning has consisted of getting the urge to take an IQ test - getting to the end, being prompted by a paywall, & then being consequently reminded all too well of the type of desperate loser to actually care about IQ's. promptly closing the tab. i suppose that's the real test. i suppose my thought process being that it sounds like a fun thing to do, disconnected from any meaningful care about the end result. but to do it in any way that would matter would necessitate forgoing the millions of paywalled "free IQ online" tests by organizations apparently also just called "Free IQ Online", & getting an actual psychiatrist... and, well... clasps hands nervously. thinking on it, i think i only ever got taken to the school psychiatrist, who invariably scolded me for truancy before limply patting me on the back with a sentiment analogous to a very insincere "go get em champ"
