Some thoughts about The Loyal Pin Ep. 09.

First of all I want to apologize for making long posts. I don't have anything more to give to the fandom than my words.

I am never gonna stop praising the quality of the production of this show. Everything and everyone looks so pretty.

There's another long post about this that I probably gonna make later; but I really wish to not be as naive as I am to enjoy this show without having to share it with people that are complaining about the CPR scene, not because this could bring problems with Aon but for what some comments said "I can't believe Becky kissed another woman in front of Freen". I was really hoping we moved out of that.

I feel bad for this but I am really liking the fact that we are seeing how hopeless are Anin and Pin around the Kuea situation. Is a sad true a lot of people have to learn. Pin has some status and Anin is literately a princess and they don't have a say about it. He wants Pin and sadly he is gonna get what he wants. Is the kind of world women used to live(some of them still do) and I think a lot of people that have more rights to have a choice had forgotten what we came from. I mean, see how beautiful the scene with the ring was but this is gonna be the start of the hell is gonna come from them.

I really, REALLY love how we get both the erotic scenes of last episodes but still have moments to show how lovely they are as a couple now. Is not just the moments of sex but is just a build up relationship.

In that tone, seeing both grow up and speak was great. Yes Pin was jealous about the CPR but what was great about this was the conversation that came out of it. In the kinda toxic possessive parts of them there was a great healthy conversation.

I was really hoping that the brothers weren't gonna became a nuance over this. It seems that the older brother is just shook and thinking what to do. I am having false hopes that he at the end helps when everything goes to hell.

It was so funny to me to see but Ueng is kinda the less problematic in this mess and she is literally in love with her cousin. Until the scene with the food she was just having a great time and enjoying herself. I am kinda hoping she an Aon get together in that way Aon stops being a problem for us.

The parallels between the obsession Aon and Kuea had for Anin and Pin and the love that both Pin and Anin have for each other hasn't been ignore by me. I love how we are having these type of things and we can compare those.

We are really reaching Episode 10 of a 16 episode show with zero major drama. I feel like I am spoiled. Even if the elements of what is gonna be a hell of drama are right THERE I have the opportunity to enjoy these 9.

In another note, for the last episode; I was wishing to be the fly that was in the office where the minister of commerce and the team of the Loyal Pin had a meeting for deciding to funding the show.

I can't imagine how that conversation went.

Government dude: "wait, the princess is gonna be tied up? is she ok? are you gonna included a scene where she gets kidnapped?"

IDOL FACTORY TEAM:"ehh...actually...LOOK! we include the scene in how we traditionally washed our clothes".

Anyway. Another banger of an episode. Looking forward for next sunday.

It's selfish of me for Becky to tell her fans to stop sending hateful messages to Freen and the FreenBecky brand, just like she said leave my fans alone. All it did was make these toxic fans feel uplifted.

I going to give you the benefit of the doubt... because I might have misunderstood (and I apologize if I have)

but...

WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES!!!

I was in the thick of it when Freen had to deal with toxic fandom and their "Protect Becky from Freen" agenda. Freen wasn't just receiving 'hateful' messages... she was receiving death threats. Becky and the majority of her fans rallied behind Freen because they refused to condone this type of behavior. Becky's fans who supported Freen were then, in turn, being sent similar messages.

I can't imagine any world where standing up to irrevocably harmful online harassment is seen as selfish. And if anti-fans felt some weird sort of satisfaction from rightfully being called out... that says more about them and absolutely nothing about Becky 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Must really suck for them to see Freen and Becky continue to be so successful in an industry that has not been very kind to women.

Idol Factory’s 2025 Lineup Reaction

Didn’t get to really sit down and focus on the pilot trailers that IDF dropped today because I was busy af, but it’s late now and everything has quieted down, so here I am.

My Sweetheart Jom / SaintPoom - This looks like the perfect story for Saint’s return to QLs, he’s in his element here. It’s funny and sweet, it’s giving me a slightly less dramatic ATOTS feel. The outsider from the city being taken in by a small insular village community, falls for the chief, finds happiness away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Obviously that’s just on the surface, there’s more to both plots, but surface level, it has the same feel, ya know? There was a lot less of the mafia story shown than I was expecting, considering that’s the entire reason Yo ended up having to go to the village to hide out whilst he finishes his studies. Poom is adorable, but we knew that. He’s really showing acting growth since The Sign, I look forward to seeing more of his work. Saint is just always a pleasure to see, talented as ever. They seem to have decent chemistry, I hope IDF drops some workshop footage because I cannot imagine how nerve wracking it must have been for Poom when he was first cast to work with Saint. That guy is his boss, he’s his bosses boss! And now he’s gonna rub up on the CEO of the company for the whole world to see, that is legit a BL trope lol! Also, possible side GL couple? Cute, just cute all the way around. The grandma I can already see being added to my list of QL grandparents that I wanna keep in my pocket!

Somewhere Somehow / FayMay - Why was this so adorable!? I’m not a huge romcom person, although in QLs you kind of have to grin and bear it because comedy is a huge part of the romantic set up. But this seems to be a straight (heh puns) up romcom and it looks really cute! FayMay are really good together, they have an easy camaraderie and chemistry to them, it is very natural, has been since they shared their first scene together in The Sign. I loved the fourth wall breaking, I wonder if they’ll do that in the actual series or if it was just a bit for the trailer. Either way, cute!! Also Looknam, she’s always a joy to see. I wasn’t expecting Surprise or Heng to show up, so that was great. Also we get it Looknam, Heng is your man, someone write them as a couple in a series before she loses her mind lol. (Are they actually dating? I know she likes to talk about how hot he is 🤔 Eh, it’s none of my business either way.) I would like to know who at IDF I have to bribe to give HenSurprise their own series, or at least cast them as a couple again. That is if they want it, they might not want to play a couple again, which I support. They were just so great in SCOY that it would be great to see them together again. Anyway, I’m rambling, moving on!

Cranium / FreenBecky - Ngl, this was one of the ones I was most excited for and the trailer left me somewhat disappointed. Could be because FreenBecky didn’t have as much time to film as the others did considering how busy they are, or that the script is being super difficult to get evened out, even for a pilot trailer. Either way I was left with a sort of ‘meh’ feeling about this one. It was marked as rivals to lovers but apparently it’s lovers to enemies to lovers, which okay, pop off. But the stupid miscommunication trope, ugh!! I’ve seen some terrible miscommunication in QLs but this one just might take the cake, Pin legit leaves the freaking country because their boss gives a wanted work assignment to her girlfriend!? Y’all couldn’t even sit down and talk for a second!? Even your co-worker/friend was trying to point out that it was an overreaction, but Pin was being a complete bitch! I’d hate her ass too if she pulled that shit on me and acted like getting an assignment over her was some kind of personal betrayal. Girl, get thee to a therapist!! Besides that absolutely horrible manufactured drama, it was awesome to see Freen kick ass! And I was not expecting a supernatural element at all! I approve of that, bring on the spooky! Give me all the damn spooky! So yeah, this one seemed to have the weakest trailer, but hopefully it’ll come out strong when it airs.

Interminable / BillyBabe - Obviously, this was the one I was looking forward to the most. Firstly is that it’s beautiful! Stunning visuals, Babe’s traditional singing is haunting (very fitting), the vibes are absolutely perfect. The story is clearly a sad one, dramatic and dark. A classic hateful femme fatale, homophobic abuse tossed about—it is a historical drama so duh—violence and death. This will be a tear jerker for sure, but also such a sweet love story. BillyBabe deliver on the romance though, they are so good at it, so believable. The reincarnation and ‘if I can’t have him no one can’ plots are a little repetitive, they already did that in The Sign, I hope BillyBabe don’t get pigeonholed by this trope. Being a heart eyed simp is a good role for Billy, because he’s a simp with heart eyes for Babe on the regular. And again with Heng lol! I love that him and Billy are best friends so Heng keeps getting cast the the person thing to steal Billy’s man, because the three take it off set and IRL for the most ridiculous type of jealousy skinship ever and it’s lowkey adorable how much Billy pouts. But I digress, this one looks like it’s going to be very emotionally draining, which can be both a good and a bad thing. I’m going with good, because considering there are two campy romcoms and one spooky thriller in the line up, IDF needed a good drama and this looks like it’s going to deliver.

THE GIFTS!! Love all the precious gift they gave each other, they were so meaningful! You could see they absolutely love them.

We know how much Pin loves collecting small little souvenirs from her princess so I can only imagine how much she appreciates the gifts Anil so thoughtfully gave her. She had them made! The Princess is not joke!

Such a beautiful scene, them laying down in the bed facing each other as the intertwine their fingers. It’s all in Pin’s head but it’s just so lovely!

And then that little hugging scene where Anil imagine Pin warming her up with the scarf she made herself for her. Ahhh it’s all just pure love and romance! Love it so much 🫶🏻

Then we have another sequence where Pin tells Anil about her new job as a translator and isn’t it amazing how much they’ve grown?!

We also have another small time jump and we see Pin complaining to Prik again about the lack of letters from Anil. Prik tries to reassure her it’s probably because the princess is too busy finishing school and she’s not far off the truth.

Pin goes on which I guess is her daily walk visit to the Pine Palace and she misses her princess so bad she starts hallucinating her there. (Pin, sweetie 🥺)

But guess what? Pin hallucinated so strong that she actually brought Anil back!

The Princess is right there behind her and I can’t wait to see Pin lose her lady like marbles! Hahaha

Idolfactory should do a promotional gag special where only Freen and Babe know they’re not each other and everyone else thinks they’re identical. The sheer amount of SHENANIGANS can you imagine? Billy trying to bromance Freen, people screaming in delight when Babe picks up something Becky dropped on the floor, everyone asking Babe why he wasn’t in the studio for that Mars show.

On the advice of @lurkingshan, and in support of one of the KINGS of Thai BL acting, Seng Motherfucking Wichai: I've picked up Knock Knock Boys for the time being, but I'm a little unsure if I'll stick with it. Thoughts, pros, and cons so far for episodes 1 and 2!

1) Seng Wichai is a god, I love him. His last show, War of Y, didn't necessarily do HIM dirty -- his piece of the show was utterly marvelous by way of his depth in acting as cringe -- but that show itself was overall indigestible, and as I'm learning about Thai BLs in general, the show's reputation does not always do well for the long-lasting image of the actors in it. Add on last year's controversial reveal of Seng's real-life relationship with Freen Sarocha, along with his departure from Idol Factory, and I can only imagine that Seng has really had a fucking time of it. Which SUCKS, because he was so masterful in Secret Crush On You and War of Y.

I can't tell if the Knock Knock Boys script is going to be one that is deserving of Seng's range -- in part because

2) it seems like Seng might be paired with Best Vittawin's character, Peak, and from MDL's repository of info, I've evidently seen Best before, in Love By Chance and Until We Meet Again. I'm specifically not enjoying Best's performance right now, because he seems to have been cast as an aloof... nerd? scared dude? running away from his responsibilities? coming to terms with his sexuality? kind of character, but the lengthy stares-into-space, without the comedic comebacks that those pauses require, aren't working for him at the moment. I kinda think Best's an actual cool guy in real life who's been cast as a nerd, but he's making the character less nerdy for his own real-life reputation, and the math of that performance is not adding up. I need Best to cheese Peak up. Peak as a character is falling flat for me at the moment, but the character clearly has a lot to realize about himself, so let me allow him some grace early on.

3) Who's really winning? This guy. Who's this guy? Jaonine Jiraphat. Bright Vachirawit's nong-doppleganger? (Dopplenonger?) THIS GUY! @lurkingshan hipped me to Jaonine's character, Latte, as a pansexual fun-loving dude of all trades. This dude Jaonine is EATING at the moment. Empathic to his roommate's, Almond's, plight to get laid by his crush (HI, PAK FROM THE ECLIPSE! Dang, you look gewd), Latte knows a lot about doin' it and he's gonna help his homey, Almond, through the motions of gettin' some. Alright! I like that straightforward storyline. Hit us with the pansexuality from the start, we know where Latte's coming from and what his deal is -- I like that clarity, and Jaonine is clearly comfortable in owning the role. Jaonine and his Latte are sensual, smart, fun, and sharp. Me likey!

I think I like this Jersey-Shore-Goes-To-Chonburi set-up, but when the four guys are sitting around and talking, all the moments when they drift off into their daydreams end up being a little awkward and keep the plot from moving forward (especially, again, as Best doesn't necessarily bring his character back in a convincing and comedic way). I'm cheering for Seng and Jaonine early on, but I hope this script can get a bit better for the guys who are showing up and really acting.

Seriously it's sickening to see people are acting like they as fans are the big victims in the whole Freen was outed to have a BF.

It's not the stalking, harassment, blackmailing, illegaly filming that's the problem. But the fact that they thought FreenBecky was real and they feel lied to. And then talk about being queerbated etc. And how this is disrespectful to the gay community. Also only wanting gay actors to play gay roles (when this is the biggest lie and they can't convince me otherwise). Not to mention you cannot assume someone's sexuality.

You are responsible for your own actions. You cannot act it's someone else his fault for you becoming delusional. That's on you.

Also I am now reminded of GAP. Because right in the beginning of the series there's a segment on how Mon who is a fan of Sam thinks she knows everything about Sam. But then it turns out she knew nothing because Sam's whole online personality turned out to be fake.

Let's put some chronic internet buffoons in their place, shall we?

Let's first talk about the OG thai bl. Love sick. I was there. Let's talk about the one that got thai bl some traction. Love by chance. I was there. How about the one that put thai bl on the map, tharntype. I was there. Now KinnPorsche. The one that got global attraction from (mostly) everyone. Here still.

Before Asian bl, I was here for hannibal, supernatural and fucking merlin since day 1. Yuri on ice, been waiting for that movie for how many years now? And don't get me started on banana fish, given or all the bl manhwa, manhua and Manga. Call me fujoshi? Yeah aight but I'm here for the gl series (give me more) and the well written straight shit too.

The difference between the two kinds of media I present to you is deliberate fan service and fan acknowledgment.

If I were to categorize shows like merlin or Teen Wolf, I would put it as unfortunate writing. Supernatural and hannibal were not really a romance focused genre. Considering how early game these shows were, I wasn't surprised with the ending of all 4 of these series. Which is why good omens, heartstopper, young royals, and our flag means death is refreshing. These four bring a genre where LIFE is portrayed with romance being the center of it. They don't always give a happy ending. They have a realistic ending. I cannot always say the same for asian dramas.

In the early days of Asian bl, Thai especially, it focused on plot, actual plot, not hot guys who look great, but great actors. A good example is SOTUS and Until We Meet Again. A recent addition that I can add is Your Name Engraved Herein. It was also about getting society comfortable with LGBTQ+. Also, it tackled the ridiculous education system and challenged it. Up for some football anyone? This used to be a art form of portrayal and storytelling. Taiwanese drama has maintained a good story plot throughout most of it productions but it is a shame that it goes underrated most of the time.

Now, I observe the market for bl. I do blame KinnPorsche of this, but if I were to truly put a pin in it, I would stab it at tharntype. The thai entertainment industry is going to suffer. The primary reason for the inevitable doom is the unfortunate marketing ploy the actors have to do off-screen. Take tharntype, an unfortunately perfect example. While mame (previously) never re-used the actors in her universe, post tharntype, mew and gulf were expected to act again together. Why? The off-screen fan-service. Behind the scenes show actors being comfortable at their workplace. On stage in front of screaming, fans is just another act. If they did love each other, they wouldn't flaunt it as they did. Even now, there are wanjaai still thinking gulf is mew's affianced. It took mew to personally address the fans' ridiculous behavior and yet, here we are; bubbles mourning and the... I can't remember the ohmnannon fan base. I saw the panic when saint wouldnt be with perth again, and then when saint wouldn't be with zew. HAHAHAHA. Remember pretty recently when Freen's privacy was invaded and fans felt betrayed? pathetic.

Just thinking about it makes me laugh because even the japanese actors have their boundaries. Take Keita Machida for example. Not only did he get featured in Alice in Borderland, but he is also married. There was some backlash but not as much as Cha Seo Won from Unintentional Love Story and definitely not as much as any Thai BL actor. These are talented actors who are capable of so much. Take Fluke Natouch. He is a wonderful actor and is trying not limit himself to a ship/pairing/couple. Talk to me when you have seen Red Wine in the Dark Night. Imagine what the industry could truly be if markets wouldn't limit them.

If however, this is about the comfort of the actor, then FINE! But don't condemn them when they suddenly aren't paired up with each other again. For this, I put forward PremBoun (yes i just did that), NetJames and TutorYim. I will not mention FortPeat or BossNoeul because I can see all four of them going independent and succeeding whilst maintaining a brilliant friendship. Peat and Noeul especially. Cant wait for that to rock people's boat.

Need I remind these people that THEY ARE ACTORS! NOT DOLLS OR PUPPETS! Heck need I remind the public of the 227 scandal?

As fans, shouldn't we support the actor for acting? Not the ship for putting on smiles?

Now I sip my tea as I watch the ships. Actually, my eyes aren't on the ships; they are watching the idiots who can't take nuance and are chronically online. I watch them cry when their ships sink as me and my fellow veterans relax on our sundeck enjoying our teas, coffee and martinis with those tiny little umbrellas. Been through this all before and this whole manifesto was completely useless because nothing is going to change. Looking at the idiots in Macau for Bible's recent fanmeet.

Considering some of their bullshit behavior, I'm gonna say how it is.
