Newcrest Fresh Start - Weeks 27 and 28

This week we are back with Kristoff Burkhart, esteemed author, good guy vampire, would be founder of the Newcrest library and, currently, single parent of alien twins.

Whilst we have been spending time with other households Kristoff's daughters, Michaela and Natalia, have aged up into toddlers. Whilst this does make caring for them a bit easier, he still has to juggle parenthood with writing new books and freelance ghost writer gigs. Luckily Kristoff's partner Paka'a offers to move in and raise the twins as his own.

Paka's has some starting fund of his own, so they decide that a chunk of it should be spend on refurnishing the twins room and building a private underground pool so that he doesn't miss the ocean too much.

There is some cash left over to start decorating and furnishing the public library. It only takes another day of royalties and a well paying freelance gig to afford all the necessary items to officially open, which means that Newcrest residents can now purchase and read new books.

With this restriction lifted Kristoff takes a break from writing to research vampire lore and find out he can order plasma packs for delivery, a much kinder way of quenching his thirst.

For Harvestfest the new family invite Kerri and Ali Pool over for a grand meal to give Paka'a a chance to make some new friends.

The twins enjoy the holiday, especially the cheeky gnomes, and Kristoff is able to show his best friends around the new library set up and catch her up on his life.

Kristoff makes the mistake of indulging in the Grand Meal Paka'a prepared and immediately has to run to the toilet to be sick.

He's sure it's just because his stomach can no longer digest human food.

A day or two later however, Kristoff starts to realise that he's not just nauseous, tired and achey - he's pregnant again!

Kristoff and Paka'a are delighted with their surprise baby boy, who they name Uriel. The twins are not so sure about the whole thing as it seems like having a newborn in the house means less attention for them. Kristoff makes sure to spend some quality time with them when he can.

Paka'a takes on the role of main parent so that Kristoff can knuckle down and complete some more freelance gigs to supplement his steady stream of royalties.

Even though they have to budget for a regular supply of plasma packs Kristoff is ables to earn enough simpletons to completely furnish and decorate the library and the exterior of the lot and add an extra bedroom for their new addition. The only item missing is an expensive research computer and some decor, which they can't purchase until the art centre opens.

Now it's time to leave Kristoff and Family and check back in with Newcrest's vet, Avery.

Newcrest Fresh Start part way review

Now that the first five households have moved into Newcrest and spent some time establishing themselves, the Sims Municipal Planning Committee are reflecting on the progress of the project.

Just twenty weeks into the programme the town is already feeling more vibrant. All the residents have managed to create a basic home for themselves and the town now has a functioning Farm, Vet Clinic and Magic Shop. This means all existing and new residents can buy fresh produce, cook a range of healthy meals and keep pets and livestock. Any occult residents will also be able to take full advantage of their specialist skills.

The town is now ready to welcome some more sims and expand the potential business offers. With most of the current residents having moved into Ridgeline Drive, we will now give priority to Bridgeview and Llama Lagoon.

After playing through the start of the challenge I've already learnt a lot, and tweaked some of the rules as I've gone along to make it a bit more seamless.

This is such a huge challenge that even long lifespan seemed to short. I really wanted my sims to have some time to be a community together and to avoid, if possible, some of the earlier residents becoming elders before everyone moved in. However, I do like sims aging and having them organically be slightly different ages.

I ended up setting a ridiculously long age span through MCC which equates to approx. 14 sim days per human year, and was worked out through some pretty anal spreadsheeting.

I still do not have Businesses and Hobbies but from what I've seen it would work really well with it. In the meantime, it's just as fun to cheat a bit and either buy a business lot and stay there, or build a non-functional community space on a residential lot (if you don't need to earn from it).

Lastly, I have uploaded my original sims to the gallery for anyone that might like to use them in their own challenge, or just to have them in your game.

What’s new in this update?:

Ciudad Enamorada and Ravenwood have been completely redone, added multiple new lots, updated other lots and provided make-overs for the households.

Added new households (when living in world; with jobs, friends, preferences etc).

Finished worlds: Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest, Magnolia Promenade, Windenburg, San Myshuno, Forgotten Hollow, Brindleton Bay, Del Sol Valley, StrangerVille, Glimmerbrook, Sulani, Britechester , Evergreen Harbor, Mt. Komorebi, Henford-on-Bagley, Tartosa, Moonwood Mill, Copperdale, San Sequoia, Chestnut Ridge, Tomarang, Ciudad Enamorada (NEW!) and Ravenwood (NEW!).

Finished vacation worlds: Granite Falls and Selvadorada.

Finihed other lots: Hospital, Science Lab and the Police Station.

What do you get with this save?:

For my save file all lots are either completely new builds (almost all) or renovations, ofcourse created by me. Exception: I have added the official build for the release of the Paranormal SP by Dr Ashley to this save. This build is therefore not my own creation, credits are given in the description to Dr Ashley. The lots in newer worlds are largely created by GameChangers. The ratio is around 50/50 with my builds versus renovations (done by me but with the original as the base).

All the townies had make-overs plus I added new families to spice it up a bit. Some of the townies are made by other creators, who are given credits in the description of the household. All the townies in the different worlds have a story, some include sentiments and adjusted relationships to the story.

Added plenty of community lots to give your Sims something to do (YAY!). Almost every world has one restaurant, but it also includes festivals that represent the four seasons (park lots) and a fully functional shopping street in Magnolia Promenade (toy store, bridal store and more).

I have added rental lots so you can go on vacation in more worlds. For example in Sulani, Willow Creek and Windenburg.

Other details:

As mentioned at the beginning, this save uses almost all packs (except some kits). This means that if you download it without owning or installing most of the packs a lot of objects will disappear from the save, but if you are not bothered by this you can still download and play in it.  

I disabled the neigborhood action plan voting/environmental changes, you enable them again in the pack settings menu. I also disabled the neigborhood stories, you can enable them again in the household menu.

I would love to add some households in this save created by all of you! Add your household under the hashtag #fleuraliatownies in The Sims 4 Gallery, you can add a storyline and world in the description but thats not obligatory. If I respond on your creation it means that I have incorporated it in the save for the next update.

Sadly every game update comes with a lot of bugs. I suggest before reporting problems in the save to me, to check on forums if its related to a general bug/glitch or to mods (if you use them).

As said in my previous post I will be slowly starting on moving the builds and sims to a fresh save to help with bugs and incorporate fixes from the Sims team that only work in fresh saves (like Grimm not being able to woohoo). How to make it work in your game:

Download the save file from the link below.

Drag it in your saves folder under: PC/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves.

Change the numbers if you already have a save with the same name.

It should now show up in your game as: Fleuralia Save V 8.0.

I am so excited to be releasing my first sims 4 save-file!

This is version 1.0 which is a redo of Newcrest! There are also lots completed for Willow Creek, but that world is incomplete and will be updated in a future version.

Disclaimer: I own all of the DLC, and have used them throughout the builds and households. You can still download this without all of the DLC, but some items may be missing and need to be replaced. (I went back and forth on this, but ultimately my community said to just go for it).

No Mods/CC Required

There are 9 households living in Newcrest, with other households in Willow Creek and Not in World to populate the world. 

For console players, all of the lots and households are available on the sims 4 gallery. My id: simgraze

The downtown area of Newcrest is very sims 3 inspired, with many of the buildings taking influence from Sunset Valley. You can find the Doo Peas Corporate building for all of your freelance sims to visit. Check out the Sunset Plaza shops, including a gym, grocery store, bookstore, and thrift store. Get political at Town Hall and meet Mayor Avanche, who may be engaged in a lively debate. Have drinks at Waylon's Sports Bar, or grab dinner at the Sims 3 Bistro, or the run-down diner next door.

With plenty of drama, and 3 lots ready for your sims to move into, Newcrest is a great place for sims of all ages who are looking for a fresh start.

In terms of future updates, Willow Creek and San Myshuno are both in the works. I have no idea when they will be released, but I definitely want to release those updates at some point.

(Not Required, but what I use). The only mods that I recommend in terms of keeping sims in your neighborhood is Home Regions by Kuttoe. I like messing with my settings so that only sims from Willow Creek and Newcrest will populate my world.

Life suddenly looks very different...

A few months have passed since Nadine and Keegans divorce. She is now living in San Myshuno with the kids and Rakesh preparing for the baby and a future restaurant. The kids stay with their Dad every couple of days in Newcrest and then return to San Myshuno for school. Nadine wanted a fresh start so Keegan kept the house and she took the rental while they split the simoleons down the middle. Keegan is working on being amicable with Nadine for the kids since he blows a lid every time he sees her.

How to Download and Install Save Files in The Sims 4

Download the Save File:

Click the download link provided in the post to download the file.

Once the download is complete, find the .zip file in your Downloads folder or wherever your files are saved.

Extract the File:

Right-click on the downloaded .zip file and choose "Extract All".

Place the Save File in Your Sims 4 Saves Folder:

Copy the file you downloaded into your Sims 4 saves folder. The typical location for this folder is:

Check for Existing Save Files:

Hazelwood Legacy 🤎 Gen One: Millie Hazelwood

Amelia, although everyone calls her Millie moved to San Sequoia to get a fresh start, renting a townhouse in Gilbert Gardens in San Sequoia. Having lost her parents unexpectedly, Millie wanted to start her life and discover new opportunities away from her hometown of Newcrest. Millie's wish to become a doctor has always been rooted in her caring nature. Aside from studying biology at Foxbury University, she is also working as an intern at Creekside River Hospital.

Newcrest Fresh Start - weeks 23 and 24

With six households now making their home and livelihoods in Newcrest, the Sims Municipal Committee ran their lottery (or skinny wheel) to select the next family, welcoming the Blanchett's, who will establish a town's Chapel and Cemetery.

Ashley Blanchett, a generous but slightly cringe born romantic and his confident, macabre wife may seem like an off match, but they're the perfect couple to found a venue were sims can celebrate the loves, lives and deaths of their dear ones.

They, along with their romantic and macabre teenage daughter, Rosa, have a lot of work ahead of them, but once they can officially open their neighbours will be able to host weddings, funerals and other events.

Once they arrive Desirae wastes no time in starting her undertaker career, even though it will be a while before she work at her own cemetery. As no wedding or funeral is compete without flowers, Ashley takes up the gardening career and begins working on his forestry skill.

Luckily there is still time to meet their new neighbours. Luckily, a visit to the Green's Community Farm furnishes Ashely with some more variety of flower seeds to grow for his bouquets.

By the end of Fall he has began to establish his garden and is able to offer fresh cut arrangements for sale to his neighbours.

Despite her morbid interests, Moira is a family orientated sim, and spends her spare time supporting her husband and daughter with school and work.. She may not be as exuberant as Ashley when manning the sales table, but no-one seems to mind.

My the second day of winter they have enough income saved up to start building their house. It may not be much at first but does mean they can spend Winterfest celebrating indoors.

Starting their dream house takes some of the stress off - It's amazing how much more energy you have when you get to sleep in a bed and have a fresh indoor shower every day. With a weight lifted Desirae and Ashley have some more emotional, and physical, space to spend quality time together.

They even have spare cash for a card table to unwind at, and for Rosa to use to bond with the other neighbourhood teens.

By the end of winter the Blanchett's have constructed the frame of their new home. Next time to we see them they'll work towards furnishing it and constructing a chapel of rest and celebration centre, as well as landscaping the grounds.

Next week The Sims Municipal Committee will welcome Silas Morell and his daughter Leah, who will establish the towns Cafe and Bakery.

Harvestfest - Gen 2&3 extended family roundup

(Narrator's POV) Harvestfest is a time when we peek into the rest of the extended Collins family and see what's happening in their neck of the woods. These are family members that are seen over the course of the year and are mentioned here and there, that are also present on the character pages (gen 2)(gen3) and the family tree. I also decided to make posts every 3 days again cause 5 felt like too much.

D - The Hunt Family

Sebastian (56), Danielle (53), Gabriela (17), Emma (20), and James (21)

The Hunt family also gathered in Brindleton Bay this year, they joined Danielle's twin sister's family at their Harvestfest celebrations at a rented hall in town. Danielle is still baking in her spare time, for others and for the family, she also continues to be in ministry - the music ministry at church, the women’s ministry, and helping the elderly in the congregation. When she's not helping with a ministry, she's volunteering to help in the church's garden that is used to supply fresh fruit and vegetable for those in need. She also makes time to visit with friends and family both in the area and around the way, offering to babysit for her nieces Valentina & Sabrina when they need it. Sebastian is still working at veterinary clinic and training students, but is working towards retiring. Gabriela graduated high school this year and is headed to college to become a veterinary nurse, having grown up in and around the clinic with a heart for animals.

James & Emma announced that they were pregnant! They're missionaries in Henford-on-bagley and are supporting a church with a growing congregation! Emma is about to enter her second trimester, and they can't wait to welcome their little blessing to the family in the spring!

E - The Godwin Family

Elaine and her family are also steadily growing and blessed, they met in Newcrest for Harvestfest she's continuing to teach at the homeschool co-op that Amelia still attends and Thomas continues in his job as an engineer. Ruby Rae is working as a nurse at a children’s hospital to get experience hours to finish nursing school, then plans to further her nursing education. Ava Grace has graduated high school this year and plans on going to bible college to get an initial degree in Bible and will explore her options from there. Amelia is just enjoying her final years in elementary before she starts her high school education.

Kyra & Tyler Shearer

Kyra and Tyler announced to the family that they're expecting! Their little one will join the family next summer and the family couldn't be happier, this will be Elaine & Thomas' first grandchild.

Rory & Sara

Rory debuted his relationship this Harvestfest, he met his girlfriend Sara Felton (21) when they joined the same Christian Students Association and they've been together coming on a year now. Sara studies Communications and is from San Seqioua, she comes from a Christian family and has 3 siblings.

Fletcher still works for the Newcrest Police Department, Cara continues to work for the Newcest Conservative party, JL is in his last year of high school and is on track to attend a big christian college on a scholarship.

Grayson continues in his work as a doctor, as well as doing speaking events with various ministries, including an upcoming medical missions trip that he's spearheading going on to Selvadorada. Keira continues to work part time as a nurse, when Archie moves into highschool then she'll move back into full time work. Matthew also in his last year of high school like his cousin James Lee, and is also looking to attend the same big christian college ona. scholarship. Archie attends his elementary school homeschool co-op, and will enjoy these last few years at home before he starts attending a private christian high school like his brother.

H - The Barnard Family

Gabriel continues teaching at San Myshuno Culinary Academy and Harley still works as Editor in Chief for Myshuno Madness Magazine, they regularly donate to conservative causes and ministries that their siblings participate in and love spending time with their family.

“After their hometown of Moonlight Bay became Newcrest, childhood best friends Cevin and Willow hoped for a fresh start with a new house and their mysterious new friend, Morgan. But along with them came Rain, the edgy teen that ended up staying with them after an argument with her parents on a stormy night. Between the four, there’s sure to be some interesting happenings on Riverview Lane.”

“I can’t believe you’re 20,” Rebecca exclaimed over breakfast, smiling. “My baby’s all grown up.”

Giselle blushed. “Mama.”

She waved her hand. “Let me baby my youngest child.”

“Has any mail from Byron arrived?”

“Yes, actually. An early post from this morning. He says he’s sad that he missed your birthday, but apparently, he’s been invited to spend the summer at his friends’ family manor.”

“My brother the social climber,” she muttered. “Are those the oil socialites he befriended in the war?”

“I believe so.” She frowned. “I hope they don’t think he’s using them.”

“Why would you think that?”

“He’s not rich, and nor is he part of that community. He’s told us countless times that he sticks out like a sore thumb.”

“Well, that’s his choice.”

Rebecca frowned. “Perhaps. I wonder if they know about his inheritance.”

“Likely not. Byron ran away from his responsibilities.” Giselle wouldn’t deny that she wasn’t jealous of her brother, able to run away to another continent, but she also thought he was a coward, abandoning his family in the face of death and loss. He couldn’t escape fate, even if he was an ocean away. 

“Giselle. Don’t be bitter.”

“You’re not?”

She sighed. “All I can hope is that he realizes that he belongs with his family at home.”

Like that’ll ever happen, Giselle thought.

“Open your eyes,” Francesca whispered.

Giselle opened her eyes to her girlfriend holding three train tickets to London and a big smile on her face. 

“Francesca!”

She giggled. “I thought it was time for a new chapter in our lives.”

“There’s three.”

She nodded. “One for you, one for me, and… one for your mother.”

Giselle swelled with emotion. “Even for my mother?”

“Yes. I think we all need a new start.”

“What about us?”

“We can make it work.”

“Mama?” Giselle asked after dinner.

“Yes, my darling birthday girl?”

“You know how Francesca and I have discussed moving to London?”

Rebecca nodded slowly. 

Giselle handed the third ticket to her mother. “We’ve included one for you too.” 

Her eyes widened. “...Oh my.”

“We want to come with us, Mrs. Walsh,” Francesca said, smiling. “A fresh start would be welcome.”

“I don’t want to leave you alone, Mama.” 

Rebecca swallowed, staring at the ticket in hand. Her daughter and friend’s act was touching, even though she knew they both wanted a fresh start without her. Giselle would have to eventually leave the nest. It was a new decade, and her generation was different from her own. They were independent, and societal expectations didn’t hold them down. “...Oh, you girls are the kindest women I’ve known. But… I need to say here. Byron is technically the master of the house, and when he comes back, I bet he’ll want somewhere clean to stay before he inherits the dukedom. You’re both ready for a new chapter in your life, and I wish you the very best.”

Her daughter nodded. She knew better than to crush her mother’s fantasy. It would be years before Byron returned home. 

“Oh, Mama, I’m going to miss you so much!” She exclaimed, embracing her mother tightly. 

She smiled. “I’ll even finally install a telephone so you two can phone me from London.”

Francesca nodded, equally delighted. “I’ll make sure Aunt Rosamond visits as often as she can for company.”

“We’ll be the two old hags of Newcrest,” Rebecca muttered, chuckling. “While you two head off to London.”

Salim: Salim is one of Annie's longest friendships. They visit each other the most of any friends. It is likely because the ticket from San Myshuno to Newcrest is cheap.

Summer: A casual friend that slowly became something a little bit more. Is Annie reading into this, or is it more than one-sided?

Travis: Travis has made his situation known. He's dating someone not Annie. It's not surprising since Annie's attempts to get close to Travis have all been rejected.

Tomax: What started sour has now become bland, but there's still a pull to the magic realm that Tomax can help Annie realize. She seems to help him relax a little, but can she wait for him to open up?

Ayaka: A tried and true friend, they get along best when it's just the two of them. It's too soon to tell but there might be something here.

Grace: A hottie with a mystery behind her. Annie can't seem to get enough. It's too soon to tell but things are heating up.

Ulrike: The interactions have been awkward, but the invitations keep coming. Ulrike gets Annie in a way that is like dating yourself.

Nanami: Sweet and flirty shopkeeper who was very receptive when talking with Annie, and is a fresh change of pace from her usual social life.

cherry recently moved to chestnut ridge to enjoy the fresh air! (we're not going to mention her attempts at starting an underground cat resort in newcrest - spa included) she's always been interested in taking care of animals. cherry's grandma got used to hearing the meows, barks, clucks, and the occasional mooing when cherry lived with her. with a fresh start, cherry hopes to meet other animal lovers and a potential lover for herself!
