The fact that the school not only cancelled a career-spanning exhibition three years in the making by Samia Hallaby, a distinguished artist who was the first full-time woman professor at the Yale School of Art, but also suspended professor Abdulkader Sinno, who helped a Palestinian students’ union host an event by a former IDF soldier who has been publicly critical of Israel, is a total co-inky-dink and nothing at all to do with IU's systemic oppression of a voice for, or presence by, Palestinians at their institution.
Said a spokesperson for Indiana University, "Academic leaders and campus officials canceled the exhibit due to concerns about guaranteeing the integrity of the exhibit for its duration."
i need to fight somebody. like a real fight no holding back. i need to punch someone hard in the stomach. i need to be kicked in the guts. i need to be repeatedly slapped in the face. i need to bite someone really really hard. i need to scratch and to be scratched. i need to be knocked over on my ass. i need to kick someones legs out. i need to pin someone down and start punching them repeatedly. i need to do all of this and then fuck nasty. i think that would fix me. even just for a minute
hi!! hope you're accepting rants in your inbox again hahaha
i just watched the ateez killing voice episode and i must say i am quite impressed??? not that i thought they couldn't sing i was just taken aback by the sheer amount of back to back AMAZING title tracks they have and how they manage to sound exactly like in the studio version?? color me impressed. alsoo my favorite moment was seongwha's high note in utopia like that was downright angelic. san not putting that water bottle down for a moment was also a big highlight for me.
did u also watch the video? what did u think?
....it sounds like the studio version bc there's a whole recording studio's worth of pitch correction and vocal smoothing on it.................
listen i love ateez dearly, i really do, but going on killing voice was such a colossally bad step for everybody involved. it dramatically exposed how badly dingo is smoothing over the vocals, to even a beginner ear, on a show that is. literally supposed to be about vocals. i know dingo only invited ateez bc they just got a big boost of visibility after coachella but it is absurd to me that they did in the first place AND that kq even accepted. ateez has a great discography and they're great performers but they are not top tier vocalists. they're just not. AND their music is not composed with group vocals in mind. so in a format like killing voice the music itself is leaving them out to dry with no vocal support from the rest of the group, unlike with other groups that have been on the show like nct, btob, exo etc, that have more layered harmonies where the stronger vocalists can support the group. this modern gen line passing with no harmonies just sounds so sad like this. it's fine to be a group that's focussed on performance and makes music that showcases that. it's fine! they excel at big showstoppers that aren't vocal heavy and that's great! i love that! but let's not pretend they're something they aren't. the next person i see saying they're 'the best vocals of fourth gen' i'm going to fucking kill.
would be very funny to me to introduce a bunch of americans who are used to the constitution being treated as a gift from god that's very hard to change and is holy Because it's almost never changed and has been in operation in nearly the same form since 1789 to the way the swiss constitution (last total revision in 1999, there have been several hundred direct democratic votes on possible changes to it since 1848, all you need to suggest a change is hundred thousand people with voting power who'll sign the suggestion) works
i got 3. count em 3 zappa requests so heres a funny little freak for the lot of u. someone specifically said xrd zappa but im too tired to draw a second beaste let alone finish this one oopsies
