#my art#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#jjk fanart#jujutsu kaisen fanart#jjk art#megumi fushiguro#fushiguro megumi#gojo satoru#jjk spoilers#jjk manga spoilers#the minute i realized how tg coded the composition n colours were i decided to turn it up to 11#i was racking my brain trying 2 figure out how to get the layered tissue paper look tht i talked abt ishida's cover art having#cycled through all my usual layer modes n nothing ws Quite right#until wouldnt u know it . divide n subtract!!!!! i NEVER use divide or subtract bc theyre impossible#but fr this??? its like they were made for it oh my god#it makes the greys look translucent n all my textures pop in a way that makes them appear splotchy n Bruised#which ws the whole point thts the Look god i am so PLEASED#when the layer modes tht notoriously get No love finally find their niche <33 peace and love <333#filing this away fr later i am going 2 have a lot of fun with this new information i think#im very happy w how the colours look n i dont think anything else wld have kept the right Mood#but i am always so >:/ when i have to use a palette tht forces me into giving megumi blue eyes#had to set aside th green eyed megu agenda fr the Aesthetic unfortunately#anyway i knew from the minute i saw it that i wanted to do smth involving the opening panel of 268#bc that panel is S tier#i figured tht if nothing came 2 me i wld just redraw it as-is bc it's alr so good but as i ws sketching i was like#u know what u havent done in a while? art tht looks like u r going Insane#art tht makes ur family ask whether everything is ok#so i once again tucked megumi's knees up 2 his chest and apologized insincerely to him fr making the third megumi angst piece in a row#:)

ive said this before, but i still wish that when people did homages/art works in the style of old masters they'd make it more of their own thing rather than just a direct copy of the original just with blorbos put in the place of the original subjects lol...
#personal#this might just be a me thing lol#but like one of the only good things art school taught me#was that when creating stuff based on other artists#you have to somehow still make it your own ...#like look at the way that person handles colour or their brushstrokes or subject matter etc#and do your own interpretation of that!#i always feel like it's more satisfying too lol??#like ive done a LOTof work inspired by klimt#but i v rarely copy his composition or even the specific patterns he uses in his work#just cos it's so much more fun to come up with your own but with a similar vibe to his??#idkidk i'm rambling#this kinda came about cos i see a lot of leyendecker based stuff and like ofc it's beautiful#but i also cant help but feel some artists are trying TOO much to look like the original#rather than putting their own spin on it...#maybe i shuoldve put this on my art blog... ah well we're here now#anyway if u read this far in my tags: i hope ur having a great day <3

Uploading the Three Musketeers edit that I mentioned in the tags of my last post bc I spent 40-60 minutes on it and sacrificed all of my tablet storage space and I’m very proud of it
#if tumblr lets me upload it that is#the three musketeers#d’artagnan and the three musketeers#д’артаньян и три мушкетера#soviet cinema#I know no one’s gonna care about this but I’m posting it anyway#bc it’s my blog and I do what I want#it is currently musketeer hours in my brain#idk why#kuviren are very confused as to why they sometimes get a bunch of new roommates#it’s because my obsession with this film series comes and goes every few weeks whenever something triggers it#and then it goes away again after a couple days#ANYWAYS#this was actually a very fun exercise in colour and composition#I just scrolled back and forth on the 4 hour compilation of all three episodes on youtube#trying to spot scenes that fit each colour#I find it funny how there’s a very clear theme with each part#like cardinal richelieu is the only one who consistently wears bright red so he dominates the red scenes#milady is in a lot of yellow bc she’s blonde and her skin has a warm undertone and her main dress is yellow and black#green is just scenery mostly. fun fact movie was filmed in ukraine#and then blue is musketeer uniforms#*insert intense stimming here* I am Completely Normal about this#making this was really fun#I kinda wanna do it for some other fandoms but it takes so much storage space and effort#for very little feedback#I might if inspiration hits me idk#we’ll see#rant over
