Fungjai is a Thai word that means "listen to your heart". This is the idea with which I approach my meditations, and hence, how I approach my decks. The fact that the deck I'm presenting today picked this idea as its name was the first clue to know that it is a work of art and love that aligns with my ideas. The Fungjai Tarot deck, created by Petch PK, illustrated by Chandai and produced by Jun Sreesurichan & Manasi MK, is a Thai 125 card deck (yes!) that radiates love and beauty all around.

Let's start with the most surprising fact about this deck. Theoretically, this is a tarot deck with 47 additional cards. But to me, this translates as two decks in one! Having all the majors (sometimes with two variations), all the minors and a huge amount of extra cards means that the ways in which one can approach this deck are endless. And I love every single one. The cards, inspired by Thai songs, are digitalized watercolour paintings. The colours are abundant, sometimes making use of white space, sometimes filling a card with details from side to side. Characters, flowers, animals, stars and symbols merge to produce dreamy illustrations that feel strange and familiar at the same time.

It was very difficult to choose which cards made it to the pictures. I included the majors that have alternative versions (The Wheel of Fortune, The Star, The Sun) and enough cards from the "extra" deck so to speak. While they retain their traditional meanings, the spin that the cards offer is worth of praise, and they open up more interpretations. Now, some details: the cards have a paper touch which is explained by Manasi as a "paper coating" and not to worry about water (however, I wouldn't put my cards near water unless they were actual plastic). One thing I love is the spot varnishing which adds a glossy finish to selected details in the cards (sometimes actually creating shapes that wasn't there to begin with! like a glossy bird in a purple sky).

The cards have text in Thai and some English. It doesn't come with a booklet or any explanation. I do not speak Thai so sometimes I feel like I'm missing crucial details, and I would love to know more about them. The backs have a gorgeous intricate eye and ivy/leaves design which I adore, and the box has a very cool shape and is custom designed (including foil accents).

The Fungjai Tarot deck is impressive and exceptional. 47 extra cards are more than what you expect from additional cards, making this a two-for-one deck deal. The beautiful illustrations capture the essence of the cards, in such a way that even the extra cards (which have no traditional concepts to back the messages when your Thai knowledge fails) manage to convey messages that deeply resonate within you. This edition is sold out, but the next one will be released next month! It will contain 80 cards though, so be sure to check the Fungjai Tarot Facebook page for more details, images and updates!

The song composed and wrote by Tay — talked about feel in love with “Night Life” “Khaosan Road” (Tay’s favorite place) This track had mostly sound like Dream Pop more than latest EP. (Demo I) that’s the way for new record in 2019
