Thing that I feel like I need to bring up here about Persona 5: most of the girls are competent cooks.
This isn't headcanon, this is fully canon. They cook together pretty often during Strikers and have pretty good results.
This isn't just because they're being helped by the protagonist either by the way, Ann, Haru, and Makoto cook with Yusuke some pretty good curry of their own that Joker only helps with at the last minute, and Haru teaches Zenkichi how to cook to make better meals for his daughter since he's not a good one like at all.
The only one we don't see cooking among the thieves during the game is literally Futaba who is considered their resident taste tester. Futaba, however, is seen baking in the actual P5/R if you romance her, so she probably knows how to follow a recipe well.
I just need more people to know this because I know there's a side of the fandom that keeps making the girls (specifically Futaba, Ann, and even Haru sometimes) as horrible cooks coming from jokes from previous Persona games. I know it's a funny haha joke but it's a little iffy to try to push this idea about the girls just because of previous installments.

I LOVE when I post things about persona and people tag it with ships. You’re right about ryukoto supremacy. You’re right about shukita being everything. Makoharu truly will rule the world. Shuake subtext is always there you’re so right. Ryukita has the perfect dynamic. I see the vision I see why this interaction between ann and ryuji means they’re in love. I know exactly what you mean when you say that yusuke and akechi would be in love. Im picking up the subtext and implications you’re pushing towards me when you tell me about mishima and joker. You’re all right literally all of you and I love seeing people ship things in this silly little game

not quite AnF time again. Courageous move by KAITO to put a set of panels in which the textual question ‘what do you want?’ is answered by the subtextual ‘he wants him physically’ halfway through the manga before we’re even supposed to be thinking about it. And it flew over everybody’s head including mine

There was something really bothersome about Ryuji's dynamic with the Phantom thieves and how they all treat him that I think I finally figured out. (This one's really long sorry about that)
So Persona 4 and 3 both have the main character's first friend be this lovable dumbass everyone picks on (Youske and Junpie respectfully) Ryuji is supposedly the same. He has the best friend dynamic he bikers with Ann and she bickers back. Just like Yosuke and Chie or Junpei and Yukari. Except Ann and Ryuji's dynamic is a lot less in your face. It's there from time to time in certain scenes but it's Ryuji and Morgana who are the bickering pair. And this is where the major problem lies.
In the beginning, it's actually not that big of a deal. Ryuji, Morgana, Akiren, and Ann those four teases and play off each other but it's all reciprocated. Ann bickers with Ryuji, Ryuji bickers back, Morgan bickers with Ryuji, and he bickers back. Morgan flirts with Anna she laughs and ignores him but she's still friendly with him. Then Yusuke joins and he easily fits into this group of lovable dumbasses. Makoto being the smartest character is where this starts falling apart. She's the mom friend but the thing about her being portrayed as the mom friend is that it doesn't work when the only person she truly is always after is Ryuji. This is weird considering Ann is only slightly better with her grades than Ryuji. Of course, the game doesn't acknowledge that because Morgana is always simping after her.
But that's when the group really starts to feel cracks of disconnection. Makoto isn't teased back in any way. Morgana doesn't when he's feeling insecure, and neither does Ryuji do so after she joins. Then Futaba joins and while Ryuji does say a comment here and there about her being a hermit so does everyone else, yet she also picks on the teasing and turns it on solely Ryuji. Yet the game distracts from this one-sidedness that's slowly being formed by increasing the bickering between Morgana and him.
That distraction right there is what fundamentally makes this worse than the bickering of the last game. See Junpei and Yosuke always teased the new members of the team and they were teased back the same or were shut down. Furthermore, Junpei and Youske's teasing of their respective bickering buddies was played for comedy and in P3's case serves as one of the best Junpei moments. But that's the thing they sort of deserved the teasing back, Ryuji from Makoto forward is more or less just teased relentlessly without him really initiating anything. Actually in the dynamic that Junpei and Yosuke occupied Morgana fills in better than Ryuji does. He does tease everyone in one way or another and for it is always reminded of his kitty status. Ryuji is a lot more like Kanji in this friend group constantly being bullied by one character unprompted sometimes. The problem is no one really stops Mona and instead joins in and, unlike Kanji, never changes what Ryuji is being teased about.

why dont you like futaba/gen?
A lot of the persona 5 characters, while colorful and anime-archetype-y- do have a grounded-ness to them- they all have very real issues and very real skillsets... and While characters like Yuuske and Makoto (even Ren, depending on how you play him) could be considered prodigies and/or excel in their fields, Futaba stands out and further forward in terms of that. An infinately brilliant hacker that can basically pull miracles out of their computer? Just as brilliant as Makoto in terms of reasoning and problemsolving? She's mean and "Sassy" which really steps on Mona and Ryuji's area and is later pulled as empathetic like Ann.
I'm only a few steps into Palace 5 and already she annoys me from a character implementation standpoint. Instead of her worrying, it should be Ann. Instead of her figuring out what happened, it should have been Makoto or Yuuske.
Her persona is wild in the sense that it feels really... reductive comparative to the others. the "Wow! a persona as a vehicle!" factor from Makoto is absolutely trashed and outshone by Futaba's giant UFO persona. IDK it feels wrong.
Even her character design doesn't match the others. All of them have a.. tangibility. They all look like stylish thieves- even Ann, who does vary... is based off Catwoman! Yet Futaba doesn't mach any of them! Giant goggles, giant shoes. OK astro boy.
She doesn't fit in that brand of "Silly" that P5 has cultivated for me so far. In a game where there is a bobbleheaded cat that fights demons in clown castles, She feels like a cartoon character. Hell, I'd even say that she feels less like a character and more like a... tool. a plot device.
Persona also suffers from severe anime brainrot- and thats bad when she's so little sister coded, which would be fine if you squint... if she wasn't also a romancible character with unavoidable scenes. I KNOW she's the same age/ish as the others but she's also insanely immature, framed as childish, and is literally described as frail. She needs vitamin D and iron supplements stat.
...and for the most part I have been able to grit my teeth through that anime brainrot because it's been offering a really great story with really amazing characters. When Ren looses some of his personality to "Stoic Anime Protag brainrot" or they do something fuckin' weird with the girls as eyecandy. It's fine, it's whatever. But Futaba... she's.. something else. UGH wish I could put it in WORDS.
She's becoming more tolerable the further in I go to the next palace' storyline, but thats because she's not as relevant anymore to make way for the new girl (who I havent met yet but I like her a lot already) so I know it's not.. my ML-induced phobia of character bloat.
...and please don't try and explain her actions cause of her backstory, im talking from a character design and implementation angle. I think.. I think I'd like her more if she was an exterior member of the thieves, an actual child, and slightly less prodigy-ish.
tl:dr: she feels like a fanfiction character and is weirdly out of place.
She was also mean to Yuuske and Morgana for no fucking reason when she should have been mean to Ryuji instead. I want to push her down the stairs. I also want her to stop touching Ren please. I know ppl think it's okay or funny if it's a guy but it's not.

one of my favorite joker hcs is that he has zero knowledge of fandom prior to meeting futaba. he's not a normie (theatre kid) but he's the kinda guy who watches an anime and goes "that was cool" and moves on.
he DOES get really into ttrpgs though. improv AND gaming???

More Thoughts about the Eevee AU but like...SPECIFICALLY Futaba's Vaporeon BC like...
Imagine your this Vaporeon. Your Trainers Mom had died like last month and youre taken away from her, the people saying that they 'Can't take care of another mouth'
Luckily, you manage to find Trainers Mom's Best Friend, who takes care of you!
TMBF manages to find your Trainer! But...
Why does your Trainer look too skinny? Why is she...covered in bruises?
Why is she scared of you?
She hides herself away from you, from everyone. You don't know why. Was it because of the people? Is she mad at you because you didn't protect her?
You wait outside her room, guarding it. It's the least you can do, making up for all the times you couldn't.
TMBF still feeds you, still takes care of you in your Trainers stead. You're grateful.
Weird People come into the house. Your Trainer exits her room! She screams and run's back in but she still exited her room! TMBF comes back and asks if she's okay, but...
You're happy...?
Your Trainer can come out of her room now! She isn't... Crying every time she sees you... She apologizes, and...you feel that everything's gonna be okay
(Later, Futaba reads out The Copypasta, and you regret ever evolving)
