Red Dwarf Headcanons (w/ a copius amount of Rimster)

Rimmer once stole Lister's guitar, repaired the missing strings, and tuned it and when Lister found out, he was upset until he tried playing it and realized that it didn't actually sound bad

With the guitar tuned, Rimmer still doesn't want to hear Lister play anything, but then Lister agrees to learn Edelweiss from The Sound of Music and Rimmer decides that he's allowed to play that

Rimmer then forces Lister to play Edelweiss for him whenever he can't sleep and although Lister gets sick of the song, he does it anyway because he knows it makes Rimmer happy

The two eventually move out of their bunkroom and into the Captains Quarters on Lister's suggestion because it has a bigger bed; Rimmer agrees to it because he likes the idea of occupying the room of the highest ranking officer on the ship

Lister can actually cook if he tries hard enough and has a recipe, meanwhile Rimmer cannot cook whatsoever; he attempted once and was henceforth banned from the kitchen

Rimmer is actually very physically affectionate but hates having to initiate it and so Lister learns all of Rimmer's unspoken cues for when he wants a hug or a hand to hold

Lister uses all sorts of ridiculous pet names for Rimmer just to get him worked up

The Cat will sometimes just come into Rimmer and Lister's room, sleep on the foot of their bed, and then if they question it he'll just say that it was the most comfortable spot in the moment

When Lister and Rimmer eventually want to get married, Kryten ends up officiating the wedding after taking an online course to get a license but then ends up objecting during the objections because he's upset that now he'll have one less set of sheets to launder

Rimmer is asexual and didn't realize it until he tried to make moves on Lister and Lister confronted him, asking if he actually wanted sex or if he just thought it was just what people are supposed to do in relationships (Rimmer totally thought it was just relationship protocol)

Rimmer will occasionally take Lister's leather jacket and wear it around because it makes him feel safe and loved

But yeah hehe take some ComicCon Liverpool photos because I cosplayed Arnold Rimmer and I'm so happy with how it turned out! 😭 It's not 100% accurate because I had to use stuff I had in the house but still, I am really pleased with it and I hope you guys like it too :D <33

I've been sick this week so binge watching Red dwarf (naturally) and somehow in amongst the fugue of my sickness this appeared in my sketchbook

I went wrong a lot with him but I'm still quite happy with how this turned out considering

There is so much potential when it comes to in-universe social media/online interactions for Red Dwarf

JMC has the most obnoxious internet presence, trying to present themselves as a friendly brand. It has a Tik Tok account that interns are forced to make comedic content for and it gets into fake internet drama with Diva Droid as a publicity stunt. Some people try to critique how this corporation associated with the military industrial complex is trying to personify itself but are drowned out by others who think it's only funny or cringey and isn't that deep

An aspect of media discourse are people calling new movies and TV shows "woke" or "pandering" because they included holograms as characters. Some pieces of media will try to virtue signal by claiming to have hologram representation when in reality the character is alive for most of the runtime until the last five minutes when they are brought back as a hologram and those scenes can be cut/censored before being released to more conservative colonies like Io. There's debate whether living people can play holograms or whether that's problematic

As per this post, Rimmer and Lister would both seperately and unknowingly post to r/AITA about each other and once people connected the dots, they comment (among ones saying they are both the asshole and that they need help) "Why are you both still sharing a room together? Can't you get a transfer? You should move out" and both of them would respond with something like "no why would I do that" and these responses get downvoted to hell. Eventually they're both banned from the subreddit (not a new experience for Rimmer who has been banned from several). This becomes part of Rimmer's internet lore which gains notoriety. When making a video about it some YouTuber ends up stumbling upon information about Red Dwarf and JMC's unethical practices (such as the inclusion of whole prisons on their vessels) and ends up getting harassed by the company just like that one guy IRL who went down the rabbit hole of a shady politician which led to his house getting firebombed

i only just now learned most of the time that red honey gourami are hybrids crossed with sunset/red thick lipped gourami. that would explain why my single red honey has a more outgoing personality and greets me like a betta would but the golds are more shy. and he also has a slightly different body shape.

Cyborg receives space data

Pixel art for today based on videogame Metal Stoker for game console PC Engine. It is something like science fiction cybernetical action. It is even has a intro with a cyborg. Such. Count it as a second Quake. According to game screens, it is flying-shooting videogame about a future.

And this is drawing about the same theme. About theme with cyborg intro. So, I draw my own cyborg. Cyborg makes a connection with his main computer using wires. And he was impressed with data, that he received. Into his mind, it was a flow of data, a lot of running process. From a different electronic calculations machine, all the data goes by network protocol into main computer. And with wires cyborg just establish connection with his main computer. To collect data. And analyze them.

Amazing data! – says cyborg. Cyborg speaks – Fascinating!

What, it is interesting data. So interesting how planets moves. Which, it is interesting asteroid. It has interesting components. And what a data goes from a second planet near the sun. Red dwarf. Wow! It is very interesting!
