I did not finish the archon quest yet (not finishing it until next Dain Quest), but i when I do, I want to write Sagau! Creator adopting Furina into a small series.

It's been more than 20 years and for some reason I feel that Gosho hasn't given Kaiao any development, how can more than 20 years pass and Aoko dynamics, relationship and feelings remain the same? At this point I feel like Gosho is just going to make them date because "they already liked each other" they remain in the same status quo

Hey, if we go by DC romance progress, they've been going too fast. We've already had suspicion of identity chapters, and that didn't happen until more than 400 chapters in DC. /j

Since heists have taken over any character development recently, I don't even know if Kaito and Aoko will even get any romantic progress. Maybe the actual identity confrontation will happen down the line, since that's thief drama, but atm, it really wouldn't surprise me if they only ask each other on a real date at the very end of the manga.

Like. I'm sure Gosho would love to make MK a love drama as well, but he writes MK so rarely, and usually as hype for something Kid related in other media. So the MK stories tend to be heavy on drama that can only take place at Kid heists. (To the point that the new chapters just. Use Kid as the plot device to show off a new character. Even Hakuba's never gotten so much 'look at this character being a detective' treatment in MK.)

-sighs- I just feel bad for MK as a series at this point. I like the characters, I like the general story idea, but. It's been going down a very steep hill with Gosho wanting things exciting, but not wanting any real progress in. Anything. But unlike old MK, the new stories aren't even nice standalone setpieces of story, they're... mundane. They could be high stakes, if you purely look at the scenarios on paper, but. We all know nothing's gonna happen to Kid. Nothing even happens to him when the actual bad guys show up, much less one-time antagonists.

We need actual character focus and development, not heist drama. Badly. Not even romance, though that'd be a nice change. Just any character expansion of our limited cast of characters. Gosho wants big, all the time, meaningless big stuff, when small would be so nice.

one problem with getting into Fiction Franchises like, oh let's say the MCU, long after they started is that 1) there are things that refer back to things I don't know about and 2) i don't know what i don't know about, and in a way that latter is more of a problem at least for me.

i managed an episode of wandavision and was left thinking "this seems like it's good, but i have no clue what's going on here so it's not going to work for me is it?" and i am reliably told it's supposed to be Mysterious Mindfuckery but i, a noob, was unable to work out without external clarification what i wasn't supposed to know. if you see what i mean.

i notice the mcu movies (at least as it progresses?) don't have numbers on them, and we know when they're direct sequels because there's a subtitle. and if you come at these later you need to get a chart to work out whether you should watch thor: ragnarok before or after thor: the dark world. which is easily done if i am determined to get things in the right order, but any effort is too much for someone.

so while i am willing to consider the idea that the later mcu films/shows are just Less Good than the early ones (personally Doubt so far but I'm not opposed to the idea) it's very easy inside a fandom to lose sight of what your thing looks like to the casuals who make up most of an audience, and frankly the mcu is currently Very Large and confusing.

who are all these Mrs/Captain/Miss/etc Marvel ladies and which of them have already been in films I might or might not have seen? how many ant men are there prior to this one? am i supposed to know who the baddy in this or that film is? which of these side-characters are from something else?

doesn't-seem-related-but-it-is: i was surprised to discover that the general mcu fandom view of the loki series was not that it was some sort of AU situation that could be thought of an entirely separate from the main series of films. because that was pretty much why it was the one to hook me, i think - it explained the relevant backstory with clips and yet also this is a different loki so if i don't want to go and watch however many films he was in i don't have to. i would expect him to be to some extent "out of character" because it carefully explained to me that this is not really the same character as that identical guy with the same name who was in some number of films. there's a woman one and an alligator one but don't worry they're all from AUs anyway.

why are so many stories nowadays about the end of things. the fall of civilizations. the end of eras. the sad slow death of the past into a grimmer future. this sense of living in the End Times has permeated sooo many genres for a literal Century and it just makes me sad that the change is. always towards the world getting smaller and darker and less magical

“…step back for a second. Just do it.”

You didn’t question him, immediately taking a step back from him. Kaine stood there with an expression sort of darkening for a second, before he jerked his hands quickly forward unsheathing spikes from his wrists. Your eyes widened slightly and your body froze. He didn’t meet your eye, just glared at the spikes.

Carefully he beckoned you back with a finger, and you listened, getting closer to him. Then you stood in front of him, bravely meeting your eye up at his 6’4 stature.

Kaine stared down at you, his breathing steadying a bit.

“Do these scare you?” He questioned quietly. He brought a stinger a bit up and dragged it slowly on the bare skin of your arm, careful and gentle. It’s smooth yet sharp edge sent a shiver down your spine. You couldn’t tell if it excited you or scared you. But you had to think rationally about this. You had to take a moment to think. Glancing at them did give you some shivers down your spine. You had to be honest about that.

“Yes.”

Kaine’s steady breathing became slightly heavier, his eyebrows knitted almost closer together. You weren’t sure if there were right answers here and the idea almost made you scared, more than his spikes. You heard him open his mouth again, and spoke with a rather hesitant hardened tone

“Do I scare you?”

You thought of all those moments you were with him. You thought of the first time you met. You knew there was more to him than just his usual grumpy attitude. He made you feel safe. You never saw a reason to feel afraid of him. Not unless he showed you this side of him. You shook your head and answered truthfully.

“No.”

You felt a bit of relief when Kaine’s shoulders slightly slumped a bit hinting the tension was already lessening.

everyone always talks like the confrontation between naminé and recompleted lauriam & elrena is gonna be her chasing them down trying to attack them like a feral dog while they’re screaming the whole time and while i admit that’s funny

i raise you: lauriam is a kind and reasonable young man who can recognize when he’s messed up big time and needs to make amends. elrena is probably not as inherently nice but she would follow suit along with lauriam. naminé has like zero self esteem and would probably never even speak up about how she’s been wronged so terribly by someone, and she’s not a fighter in any way.

so i propose to you: they have like. a deal where lauriam offers to just let her punch him like once. really hard in the stomach or something. same with elrena. naminé gets one free shot of her choosing on each of them and then they’ll call it good and peacefully move on with their lives

alternatively. she does not want this. she asks for a large sum of cash in reparations. lauriam and elrena actually find this far more terrifying because they have absolutely nothing. they wish they could just have someone beat them up and call it good. they start panicking and naminé’s like oh geez i hope that’s not too unreasonable maybe i should back downNO. her friends make her stand her ground and keep the deal terms the same. naminé would probably apologize to you if you poured soup in her lap but the entire rest of her friend group are keyblade wielders who are more than willing to threaten lauriam and elrena a little bit
