At least this particular day had been rather nice for a day that was still fully in the summer season, Childe had been far from unable to have Zhongli pressed up against him at any point today, and even now they were leaning back in a chair on a balcony attached to the consultants apartment and Childe could enjoy the arms around him and any affection the former Archon wanted to give. They weren't talking right this moment, but Zhongli would see the soft and content smile on his gingers lips as he was nuzzling Childe's ear.

The door chimed as he entered, and the scents that rushed toward him were warm and delectable. "Hello." The Consultant greeted the woman there with a cordial tilt of his head, and an equally pleasant manner reflected in his amber eyes. "I am a visitor to Mondstadt, and wondered if I might have the recommendations of the confectioner regarding your finest sweets."

There was something to be said about ‘building a reputation.’ Friends and certain circles amidst her many travels had come to know Honey’s talents in time, treats shared with study groups and local hosts who’d shown her generosity in kind; but to finally have the right opportunity, means, and location to set up shop had helped the sweetmaker achieve a different level of ‘status,’ entirely— echoed acclaim and word-of-mouth advertising seeing recognition from further reaches than she’d have ever imagined prior.

Tall-dark-and-proper over here was a prime example of that fact: a man of elegance, dignified, with an even keel to his voice which foretells prudence and politeness beyond the everyman which usually found their way through her door. More than enough to see the ornately-clad proprieter straightening her stance, brightened with renewed attention.  ❝ Welcome, welcome! And not too long, at that. ❞ She extends some well wishes in her welcome, and a seed of conversation should he choose to nurture it, but quickly closes in on his request– excitedly bringing her hands together over her breast as she went on.

you ever think about how kaeya is constantly on guard, scared, & simply -- not okay. that regardless how good he gets at handling all the threats he anticipates, that does not give him the power to make himself feel safe. just prepared. just capable. & it is something alike safe, it really is ----- but absolutely not the thing itself.

qiqi managed to find herself past the edges of liyue and into mondstadt, obvious by the bundle of dandelions she brought back; baizhu was well aware of their specialty being dandelion wine, but believed a better use for the plant was tea — calming, soothing, naturally sweet, didn't deteriorate the body as alcohol did. the chipped kettle sang, sharp through the thin, quiet air, and baizhu's hands moved to grab the handle and first pour his guest a cup.

" mr. zhongli, i hope you have been doing well, " he hummed as he moved languidly around the pharmacy counter, " i feel as if we only ever get to speak under . . . undesirable circumstances. " that is, during a patient's passing.

" . . . it is beyond me why mondstadt seldom uses dandelions for something other than wine, " he mused, idly as if to only fill the room with words.
