so we all agree that art is no longer being circulated on tumblr the way it used to be, and that The Youths no longer know how to reblog shit because they’re from insta-tok or whatever, and that subject-specific tags are turning into a unusable slog because so much shit gets inappropriate hashtags. and that shit is getting pretty dire.

i’ve been thinking about it and i have a proposal:
WE NEED MORE GALLERY SPACES.
[image id: a fancy art gallery with red brocade wallpaper, gold picture frames, and beautiful oil paintings]
who benefits from galleries? artists benefit because their work is shown in a space that’s already attended by an expectant audience. the audience benefits because they can follow a space with the expectation of being served the curated content they want to see. and crucially, people who want to participate in creative work without having to make it themselves can become the curators who help connect artists with audiences.
[image id: a mule-drawn tour bus about to set out on an educational ride]
i propose this summer, with school letting out and a lot of bored young people ready to particpate in fandoms and other hobbies, that we start a push to make more fanblogs with the explicit, understood purpose of serving the community more gallery spaces. artists will get more exposure and fans will get to see more art.
[image id: a wall mural featuring a large hand pulling back a blank curtain to reveal a dense and complex design of overlapping words and tags. a sunbeam illuminates a bright triangle of wall that reads “hey”]
being a curator is a really fun and really valuable way to engage with your community, whether that’s the fans of a show, hobby, game, science, genre. it really can’t be overstated how cool it is to be one of the guys who find and reblog artists with limited reach and thus introduce them to a wider audience that will be happy to see something great.
THIS SUMMER, START A GALLERY SIDEBLOG AND SEE HOW IT GOES. TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO START GALLERIES. ADVERTISE IT IN THE TAGS. ADVERTISE YOUR FRIENDS. PUT OUT CALLS FOR WORK. RUN IT FOR A WEEK OR A SEASON OR TEN YEARS. FOLLOW OTHER GALLERIES. LET’S SEE IF WE CAN MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL.
Hiii! Welcome to my little art gallery! This is just an art reblog blog
I feel like art isn’t being reblogged near as much anymore, so I’m making some sideblogs for this exact purpose! This one is specifically for trigun. Feel free to send any art posts you think need more attention! I’ll be doing the same 🫡
I do have restrictions though: I am not a prosh*pper, nor will I reblog anything like that (if I accidentally do, please let me know and I will delete it). I will not reblog anything promoting hate speech either
I do not have any set opinions on Trigun ships but I am willing to reblog ship stuff too!
There WILL be spoilers for every iteration of trigun. Scroll with caution!
With that out of the way—
Feel free to send anything my way! The askbox is open too if anyone needs to use it.
The Gallery on the Gorkhon is a fan project run by tumblr user graveworthy modeled after roach-works' Gallery Jamboree 2023 project. It will focus on fanart, fanfiction, and meta about Ice Pick Lodge's "Pathologic" games, including but not limited to Pathologic Classic HD, Pathologic 2, and the Marble Nest. This blog runs on a queue and currently publishes twice a day (as of May 28, 2023).
Who runs the blog?
Currently, the only curator is tumblr user graveworthy.
What is the blog's policy on mature works or themes?
Pathologic as a game series approaches a ton of "mature" themes, including but not limited to drug use, gendered violence, suicide, colonialism, racism, murder, and vivisecting a living woman (multiple times, once on screen). I don't think it makes much sense to try to curate a PG-13 experience for this body of work and I'm not going to try to, especially since I've written original fiction where a guy fucks a corpse. Everyday life I'm suitable for consumption by middle schoolers, on my weird pathologic RP art gallery blog I'm going to be weird/horny/violent. Sorry.
Can I be a curator?
Right now this is a one-townie project, but I do welcome submissions of work to be described and tagged.
Why do you write gallery descriptions/analysis for things you reblog?
Consider it my own little meta practice. Also, it's helpful for screenreaders. Also, I'm an inveterate long-term roleplayer and it pleases my brain weasels to be a dweeb about this.
Are you seriously going to do every single reblog in character with commentary?
Yes.
Can I roleplay with the Curator?
Yes.
Can you tag for [x]?
I can't promise anything other than tagging popular ships, characters, and anything I think will help increase visibility for the work itself, but it can't hurt to drop me an ask.
What if I want my fanwork removed from the blog?
Please drop me an ask and I'll remove it as soon as possible.
What if I want your commentary removed from my work?
Please drop me an ask and I'll remove the work as soon as possible.
I don't like what you're doing.
I am a middle school teacher in real life and I spend all my fucks on trying to get kids to stop carving swastikas into my studio tables and completing their artworks. I could not care less about anything on this bitch of an internet. Unless you’re a fan who would like their work removed from the gallery in which case, see above.
sideblog for roach-works idea of an art gallery to promote people's work and reblog. Art gallery jamboree 2023. also a place to put things that I like but might not have on my main. sorry I'm reblogging really fast on mobile so I don't always tag, but I will tag for trigger warnings
Oh! It won't be relevant until my queue is a lot deeper but I will be using tags strictly as sorting tools not as subtext within this blog. For instance they will indicate if the cat is in an indoor or outdoor environment, is distinctly realistic or cartoon in style, and when there are not a large number of cats in the same picture also what color their fur is. For bright colors usually not occurring in nature I am using the catch-all "all the colors of the rainbow."
This blog is completely dedicated to reblogging art of any medium centering mermaids. Both original characters and fan works are accepted. I will do my best to tag everything, and please let me know if there’s a tag you would like added/if I miss something. I will also avoid any reposted artwork, and any that comes to my attention will be deleted from this blog. Please tag me in any posts you would like me to reblog, especially for smaller artists!
All images lacking descriptions will be tagged as undescribed, and eventually have descriptions added as I have time.
Happy Mermay!

The Caterpillar 🌷🌹🌱🌿☘ - - -"The Caterpillar using a hookah; an illustration by John Tenniel. The illustration is noted for its ambiguous central figure, whose head can be viewed as being a human male's face with a pointed nose and protruding chin or being the head end of an actual caterpillar, with two "true" legs visible"- - 🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛 - This is my new acquisition, I saw this necklaces last year (2018) and I didn't buy one and of course I regret not doing it, I had to wait one long year to get one, finally I bought one today and when I was with the lady at the store, she told me the illustration I choose; The Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. I really love the necklace and I want to congratulate the designer. ❤ One more necklace for my special collection (Actually I gave two special necklaces to important people in my life) - - - #designer #gallery23 #blairstown #etsyshop #brookevanderzeedesigns #necklace collection #loveit #thecaterpillar #aliceinwonderland #tesoros #newjersey #usa (en Gallery 23) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0AbBBeHrN_/?igshid=qxfkt3m7xg9e

Globalisation is the process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected as a result of massively increased trade and cultural exchange.
Globophobia is people suffering from this phobia feel morbid fear at the thought, sight, touch or even smell of balloons. Most individuals, however, are only afraid of the sound made by the popping of balloons. As with any phobia, the symptoms of Globophobia vary depending on the roots of the fear.
