Primeurs 2020 Saint-Julien . J’ai commencé les primeurs dans le Médoc avec Bernard Burtschy qui est une mémoire vivante des Primeurs sur Bordeaux. Devant le haut niveau des Crus Classes de l’appellation Il en vint à exprimer le souhait de goûter Château Teynac, une petite propriété qu’un certain Robert Parker lui avait fait découvrir à l’epoque ! Ni une ni deux je contactais Eleonore Pairault qui représente la deuxième génération de la propriété pour une dégustation Primeurs improvisée ! Succès total et encore mieux quand je vois ici et là les bons avis se multiplier à propos de cette petite propriété confidentielle de l’appellation. Bordeaux brille avec des noms mondialement connus, mais Bordeaux c’est aussi de petites pépites qui permettent aux wine lovers en quête de cuvées confidentielles de trouver une myriade de vins... et à bon prix ! Château Teynac 2020 : 93-94/100 sûrement le meilleur rapport haute qualité prix de l’appellation sur ce millésime ! . I began the tasting of the 2020 with the famous French critic Bernard Burtschy who is a living memory of Bordeaux en primeurs. According to the very high quality of the Crus Classes from Saint Julien he wanted to taste Chateau Teynac. A little property that he discovered thanks to Robert Parker. So I contacted Eleonore Pairault which his the second generation of the family of the property. Improvised tasting for a brillant result and I am very happy when I see nice comments on other reviews about this confidential property. This is the sign that Bordeaux is full of treasures ! Of course Bordeaux is famous about beautiful and very recognized properties but Bordeaux it’s also unknown wines with a very good value for money (especially on large appellations) ! Chateau teynac 2020 is for me a 93-94/100 and on this vintage is certainly the best value of Saint-Julien according to its high quality! Look at this black beauty! Someone mentioned Tannat the other day and it inspired me to dig in the cellar for this 2013 Tannat from Napa-based winemaker Yannick Rousseau. His eponymous label, Y. Rousseau, delivers with this southern French grape. Vineyards are in Mendocino at 2400 feet. This wine is a brute - powerful fruit, acid and earth, complex spices. It needs food - I had it with lamb shank.
