@shelbyhowellactor in my garden . Exactly a year ago today, I did the last portrait that ended my intended #100dayproject. After 40 days of shooting every day, I realized that making one new portrait a day was too much for me. I pretty much put my camera away after that and mostly shot with iPhone. . I’ve known Shelby for a few years now and have always wanted to photograph her, but whenever I see her, I’m usually running around doing production instead of shooting. I’m happy to finally have my chance! . @meganbright574, whom I met once a couple of years ago on a project and have only been communicating via text, agreed to help us out by providing a dress custom-fitted for Shelby. These two are such pros, all I had to do was connect them and they made things happen. . @george_simian lent me his @sonyalpha #sonya9 and helped with the @lastolitebymanfrotto reflectors. . Beauty according to me . To me, all portraits is more about the photographer than the person being photographed. That is especially true of my portrait of someone I just met. . When I meet a person, everything I think about her is based on my history of thinking about people from my past, real or imagined. I’m always molding the picture into something I wanted it to be. .
