SDCC has the her universe fashion show, but that's a competition not a gala, still if you're looking for geek couture that's the place
I stand by my met gala pitch:
Anyone can attend, famous or not, but there is a judge at the door that determines if the fit is worthy of attending & you may only enter if you pass their judgment
I think it would remove a lot of the problems people have with the met gala as a whole

I need to make classmate! Mark Grayson happen it is rotting my brain
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
── ── ── ── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── ── ── ──
˚ ༘ *ೃ⁀➷ main! Mark Grayson x fem! reader
˚ ༘ *ೃ⁀➷ cw: mark doesn’t have powers, marks lowkey a perv, reader is super girly, kind of insinuates that Mark jerks it LOLLL, reader teases mark some bit lolol
˚ ༘ *ೃ⁀➷ a/n: hiii I promise I will get to my requests I’ve just been needing to clear my drafts! This also is a pretty common fic I see with characters I’m not for sure if there is one of Mark but creds to the people that did it first! Inbox is still open if you would like to see anything else 💋
── ── ── ── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── ── ── ──
classmate! Mark who is one of the biggest geeks at school, he’s like super hot but still people get a laugh or two when they see him reading Seance Dog
classmate! Mark who takes a chemistry class with you and is super smart, he turns in his tests before anyone else and people come to him for help
classmate! Mark who notices you ALL THE TIME. When you walk into class he is always eyeing you to see which outfit you picked out. He likes to think you pick them for him, buuuttttt
classmate! Mark who noticed you’re into girly stuff. A lot of your outfits resemble just true girlyness and he adores all of them. One day you wore a matching Juicy Couture tracksuit and he LOSSSTT ITT. It hugged your curves perfectly and left some imagination for him to use tonight
classmate! Mark who almost shits himself when you guys get paired for a project. Your professer assigned you guys together and when she called out the names he looked over to see you applying your cherry Victoria’s Secret lipgloss. He was in awe with just how truly unbothered you were
classmate! Mark who hypes himself up to ask if you wanted to go to his place to work on it. He took a quick few deep breaths and walked up to where you were sitting
“I know we don’t talk like a lot and it can be weird going to a strangers house but I was wondering if you wanted to work on our project at my place? I have like the whole thing to myself and-“
He rambled for a bit before shutting up and was waiting for an answer. You looked up at him just staring for a second before you respond
“Yeah, I’m down”
His heart might have just fell to his ass. God you were so confident and unbothered he was SO into it. And it didn’t help that the shirt you were wearing was a size smaller so your twins were suffocating and pushing for air
You weren’t oblivious to his actions and tone. You knew he liked you and you known for a while. But sometimes you liked to act oblivious so he would HAVE to push out of his comfort zone even more, it was a fun little game you played
classmate! Mark who lets you into his home and leads you to his room. He was ready to start the project and you guys got to work. To be honest he lowkey did all the work, you were tired and he didn’t mind! As long as he still had an imagination for the nights that kept him awake he would have no problem doing whatever you asked
classmate! Mark who when after you left he immediately got to his room to calm down. He truly couldn’t believe you were just in his home, with your sweet scent lingering on his bedsheets where you were sitting
classmate! Mark who then notices you left your jacket, and boy was he over the moon. Leaving your jacket helped his imagination feel more like a reality
You were just glad you could return the favor of him doing your project :)

chris crushing on a y2k trashy aesthetic girl? like yk.. juicy couture, ed hardy, 2000's vibes omg
okay i had to include some inspo pics bc the vibes are too good
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’re not chris’ usual type, actually, you’re the kind of girl that sends guys like him running. but, you have a thing for geeks, and an extra soft spot for chris in particular. you met him at university, just so happening to sit next to him in a computer science class you had to take to fulfill a credit requirement. he tried to tutor you, but ended up doing all of your homework for the semester.
chris has a big crush on you, and you know it. it’s not like he’s very slick about it, but you kind of love letting him pine over you. you two are the definition of a golden retriever/black cat couple — you’re feisty, and he hangs back to let you do your thing, which you appreciate. you’re very close, closer than friends, but not exactly together, even though you often act like it.

If Choices existed in the Choices universe(s), here's what my MCs' favorite and least favorite titles would be
Tagging: @lover-also-fighter-also
Excluding the MC's own books/series because that would just be a paradox.
Evie Ayana (OG HSS)
Evie is basically my ultimate creator-insert character. So my favorites (It Lives Series, Endless Summer, The Heist: Monaco) would be her favorites, and my least favorites (Surrender, First Comes Love, The Billionaire's Baby, Untameable) would be her least favorites. And for all the same reasons as I have.
Like me, she would love the stories where the MCs are flexible in their character and the Choices actually influence the story, and would adore making her own MCs and building their characters. It's partly motivated by having an intense creative writing passion.
Evie would also greatly enjoy The Phantom Agent; I already do, but she'd like it even more I thnk. She loves her little wlm James Bond adventure.
Alan Parke (OG HSS)
Alan would definitely love the romance and steamy ones. But his all-time favorites would probably be Queen B and Dirty Little Secrets. The MCs and stories are perfect for his mega-diva personality. Granted I haven't played QB yet, but I just know he'd get so immersed in the whole vibes of it. Though he'd also hate that it's genderlocked and would headcanon his MC as a guy.
I think he'd also be a big fan of Hot Couture for the outfits. But of course, would hate that the MC is genderlocked and headcanon it's a guy MC wearing all those outfits.
Not sure what Alan's least favorites would be, but I think he'd definitely dislike First Comes Love and The Billionaire's Baby. In QB, he'd find it fun to be a total bitch because it's a story that actively leans into absurdism and embraces the trashiness. But it's not as fun in FCL or TBB because they take themselves too seriously. Instead he just goes "I can sometimes forgo morals for my own needs, but Jesus I'd never stoop THAT low".
Samara Al Hakim (OG HSS)
Samara would probably like Mother Of The Year because MC is the mom she never got to have. Instead she had to go through a mom who was incompatible with her dad, and then a step-mom who was borderline abusive. So MOTY is very escapist and cathartic for her. For similar reasons, she also finds comfort in any story about MC being a (good) parent, like The Royal Heir and Baby Bump.
In MOTY, she especially adores MC x Thomas, she loves Thomas as a parent figure and wishes her own parents’ relationship had been more like that. At the same time though, Guy Ledford would be very triggering for her.
Samara would despise Surrender even more than Evie does. Evie (like me) would have been sent into a very distressing rant rage from the story, but Samara would take it to physical levels. She would be so furious about how it handles abusive relationships that she'd outright hurl her phone at the wall and have to get both the phone and the wall repaired.
Samara would also get frustrated with The Billionaire’s Baby, the one exception to her love for the parenthood stories. This should be the kind of book she likes, but she can’t stand the MC and LI. But then the baby gets born and it has cute moments and so she melts down into confusion.
Cher Lee (HSS:CA)
Cher would love Hot Couture because she's a fashion geek. Most of the outfits wouldn’t be her taste, but she'd still enjoy the whole thing with designing and modeling for fancy outfits. She would also love all the historical/regency books like Desire and Decorum, The Royal Masquerade, The Unexpected Heiress, and The Duchess Affair because she's a ho for regency stuff too.
I'm not sure what Cher's least fav would be... maybe My Two First Loves? She wants to like it because she knows what it’s like to feel like she has everything figured out except not really, but the story is just a wishy-washy mess to her.
Jordan Price (HSS Prime)
I can probably see Jordan enjoying Laws of Attraction, especially Book 2. I think she'd also enjoy #LoveHacks, especially Book 2. Not really a surprise that she especially likes the parts of the stories where MC and friends leave the problem-riddled main institution and start up their own new space with the goal of providing better quality and better treatment of others that the main one couldn't.
Her least favorite would probably be Surrender. She'd just get so frustrated how MC stays with Reagan, even after their big break-up in Book 2.
Jo Hunter (ILITW)
Jo would have a love-hate relationship with Endless Summer. The exciting adventure combined with the strong group friendship themes would really speak to her. But the twist reveal at the end of Book 2, and having to choose between the endings, would break her.
Least favorite would probably be Wolf Bride. Bastien skeeves her out too much.
Harper Addison Vance-Fisher (ILB)
Harper would probably enjoy Platinum and Along Came Treble, as they themselves are a guitarist. I can also see both of the High School Story trilogies being a sort of favorite guilty pleasure of hers because of how chill they are, and she likes how sweet the Class Act MC is.
Her least favorite would probably be My Two First Loves. It's just a mess, and as someone who had periods of figuring out they were a demigirl and bi-curious, she'd probably think that the way the story handles its queer themes was very disappointing and half-assed.
Cedric Zhao (ILW)
IDK why, but I feel like the OG High School Story trilogy would be his favorite, and that he also played the original HSS Prime mobile game a bit when he was younger. They're both very escapist for him, and he loves creating multiple characters for both of those.
Not sure what his least favorite would be. Probably The Billionaire's Baby or Untameable, I think he'd be ungodly bored by them.
Dick Ryder (DLS)
Dick would have a love-hate relationship with a lot of the smut books. Love because he loves smut and he enjoys the mlw versions of the dynamics. Hate because the smut scenes are all guy-penetrating-gal which has become a legitimate trigger for him. Though he would like more MCs that aren't pushovers. I'm not fully sure about his favorite, but I think he might quite enjoy Alpha.
Aside from that, I think he'd also enjoy High School Story: Class Act, Red Carpet Diaries, and Guarded, because he himself is big into acting. He was a theatre kid during all of his school years, pursued an acting career after that, and wants to keep that up.
For his least favorite... I feel like he'd be very frustrated with Surrender. He wants to like it because kinky BDSM, but he can't get past MC being defaulted to sub in the first book and the resolution to the second book.
Adelaide Zhou (ROD)
Any book where MC gets to be proactive, a leader, and/or a badass is a favorite. So, OG High School Story trilogy, both of the It Lives books, Endless Summer, The Heist: Monaco, The Phantom Agent, Murder At Homecoming, Crimes Of Passion, Acrosss The Void, among many.
Least favorite would be Surrender, Wolf Bride, Roommates With Benefits, any book where the LI or other characters are incredibly patronizing to the MC.

Rue Keller; Shopping Heaven for Alt Kids and Geeks?
 Hi! (^▽^)
Rue Keller is known for it´s alternative stores, pleasing not only darkly inclined, but also those who prefer anime and Japanese culture. When you ask for those specific recommendations, this street often pops up. But is it deserved?
It´s not hard to get to rue Keller. It´s in nice neighborhood in the city center, more or less only 20 minute walk from Notre Dame and Centre Pompidou. That is, if you don´t keep walking in the wrong direction, which happened to me. I would like to say be careful, but most of you are not as dumb as me.
Tumblr media
Only one-half of the street is actually filled with anything your dark heart would desire – if you come from the other, with café and elementary school, you might be quite surprised. Never mind, just confidently scroll through it, until you get through all the coutures and gallanteries to Manga Dori. You won´t be surprised with majority of their sortiment being mangas, but they also sell katanas, some magazines and of course, figurines. Staff is always nice and it´s probably the only shop where I was never the sole customer. They have decent amount of publications, neatly sorted out by name in the case of well-known authors and genres. They even have a BL corner, I need to actually go through it next time! You can occasionally find a piece in English, and as you walk around the aisles even non-Manga section! They have some publications (I still hope to see Fruits or Kera one day), from Japanese comics in less orthodox art styles to a Pusheen book. I have that in Czech and I feel the need the get French version for… scientific purposes. I found some publications with lolita characters, but I will have to report on their quality.
You can go to Pop Culture next, they represent western geek culture from next side of road. Aside from comics and another round of figurines, they have vinyls! The owner of this place is a nice, chatty guy eager to help, and he didn´t mind me coming and looking for some vampires or Sandmand in the sales. The atmosphere here is nice, probably best out of all those stores, and if you need any other recommendation, our office manager buys his Star Wars figures here. His collection is enormous.
Tumblr media
And now my favourite. L´indien Boutique. If you are into goth, punk, rock or even just some spooky things, come here. Even if you are on budget – they sell patches for 4 euros, buttons and pins for less and they even have a 1 euro section. You can buy postcards with some musicians here, but be warned. They have an unreasonable amount of Morrissey, and even weirder of half-naked Morrissey. I will forever treasure my card with Husker Du, the only piece of merch I was able to find anywhere. They some plainer clothing in the front, also hats, from crochet e-kids ones to band caps. And jewelry. A lot of jewelry, like this amazing coffing ring that I will need to get if I will have any money once I´m done in Paris. In the back, they have more interesting clothes. I have to say, in terms of price and what you get, L´indien is my favorite in entire Paris so far. It´s not ovepriced, the selection is nice and you get the feeling that (very nice) owners know what they are doing. Also, I never met a shopkeeper that wasn´t very nice here. They carry things from brands like Killstar and Banned, but also more whimsical pieces. For example corsets, Lots of corsets around 35 euro, over and under. I feel like anyone could pick one, from the most Victorian goth to cyber punk. You can also get band tees for 20 euros here, another thing I want to get by the end of my stay.
Now there´s New Rock. You probably know their shoes, super sturdy, super high, super cool. I want to buy them when I will actually start making money. Should you go in if you don´t have disposable 200 euro? Sure, they also sell hair colours. I saw Revolution and Manic Panic here, but they have much more that I don´t remember. Prices are always under 10 euros.
Tumblr media
You won´t have to walk too far to Black Sugar. If you want cheap cosplay and Harajuku inspired dress, come here. If there´s anything to get excited about, it´s their bags. Sanrio, Sailor Moon and a lot more, on every shelf around the store. As for their clothing, it´s cheap. As in, you pay more than Aliexpress for the same quality. You can see some lolita dresses and blouses that would probably need a lot of restoration to be salvaged, but also some not so terrible pieces. Their pants look good and would suit both 90s ravers and Visual Kei enthusiast. Some of their boleros are actually cool too. They also have some better quality lolita clothing, in different rack. They probably realized how much the comparison would hurt them. They had really cute black and white dress for 55 euros and some blouses that actually made me think.
Tumblr media
Other than that, they have some good figurines, for example Naruto ones for 5 euros, which is great. Any emo or scene kid should be aware of their accessories. Armwarmers, striped socks, chokers, etc. The price isn´t terrible either, but quality leaves something to be desired. There´s supposed to be another store of the same type next to Black Sugar, but it´s always closed. I only got in once, and it was worse than its neighbor, both in selection and quality. I can´t find it on Google Maps and I don´t remember the name, so behold the suprise, I guess.
Tumblr media
If you will stay up until night, you can go to Dr. Feelgood, a really nice rock bar. Sometimes they have parties, so stay tuned if you are around!
If you go straight to Kilo Kawaii Shop in le Marais from this point, you will go around a cheap cosplay shop My Bootik, that also carries some alternative goods. The price is not high, but quality reflects it.
All in all, this place looks pretty good on paper, but once you get there, it´s not so much. You can go through all the shops in half an hour, feeling both over and underwhelmed. There is almost nothing original, the prices are only slightly better than on cons and you will sense that this place might be dying a little bit. At least you will get to see some cool people – this  place is never crowded and if you do meet someone there, they are either an otaku or a member of some subculture. And it´s near to our next spot, secondhands on Rue de la Verrerie.

Wired for Style: How Fashion-Forward Tech Is Redefining the Way We Dress
Introduction
Why Fashion-Forward Tech is the Talk of the Town
Imagine walking into a room and your jacket automatically adjusts its temperature to keep you warm. Or your t-shirt glows in sync with your favorite playlist. No, this isn't a sci-fi movie — it's the very real and rapidly evolving world of fashion-forward tech.
In the last decade, we've watched the lines between fashion and technology blur dramatically. From smart fabrics to wearable gadgets that look more like art than accessories, fashion-forward tech has become the new cool — and not just for tech geeks or runway designers. Everyone from everyday consumers to luxury houses is diving into this exciting fusion.
How Technology Is Quietly Stitching Its Way into Your Wardrobe
You may not notice it, but fashion-forward tech is already around you. Fitness trackers, heat-sensitive materials, and even your phone-connected sneakers all play a part in this new age of styling. What was once novelty is now necessity — or at least, a growing expectation.
So, what’s making this shift so compelling? It’s more than just aesthetics. Fashion-forward tech is all about creating clothing that doesn’t just look good but does something meaningful — whether it’s tracking your health, improving your performance, or just making your life more convenient.
Understanding Fashion-Forward Tech
What Exactly Does Fashion-Forward Tech Mean?
Let’s break it down. Fashion-forward tech is a term used to describe any piece of clothing or accessory that integrates technology for enhanced functionality without sacrificing style. We're talking about garments that respond to your body, your mood, or even the environment.
It’s about weaving sensors into sweaters, building circuits into sleeves, or designing apps that help you curate your closet like a stylist. It's an intersection of innovation and expression — fashion that adapts, reacts, and interacts.
The Subtle Difference Between Functional Wearables and Fashion Tech
You might wonder, “Isn’t a smartwatch also fashion tech?” Not always. While wearables like fitness bands offer functionality, fashion-forward tech steps beyond just utility. It blends form and function in such a way that the tech becomes a natural — and beautiful — extension of your style.
In essence, it’s not just about what a garment does but also how it feels and looks. A piece of fashion-forward tech should spark both curiosity and conversation.
The Evolution of Style Meets Science
From LED T-Shirts to Smart Couture
Back in the early 2000s, fashion tech was clunky and loud — think glowing shirts or gimmicky shoes. But fast-forward to today, and we’re looking at high-end garments that read like sci-fi while looking like Chanel.
Take smart dresses that change color based on your body temperature or light-reactive jackets that shimmer in the sun. These aren’t just fun gimmicks; they’re a reflection of how technology is finally catching up with creative vision.
Pioneers Who've Blended Style with Code
Designers like Iris van Herpen, Hussein Chalayan, and Anouk Wipprecht are some of the early trailblazers. They’ve turned runways into digital canvases, showcasing dresses that move on their own, clothing that reacts to brainwaves, and much more.
Tech companies like Intel, Google, and Apple are now collaborating with these creatives to produce wearables that are as fashionable as they are futuristic.
Current Trends in Fashion-Forward Tech
Smartwatches Are Just the Beginning
Sure, smartwatches were a game-changer. But they're only scratching the surface. We now have smart rings, earrings, and even glasses — all designed to blend seamlessly with everyday fashion. The goal? Tech that doesn’t scream “I’m smart,” but instead whispers, “I’m stylish and smart.”
Fabrics That Breathe, Light Up, or Charge Your Phone
Yes, really. There are now textiles that can absorb solar energy and charge your devices, fabrics that adapt to your body’s temperature, and even ones that emit light for safety and style.
Imagine a cocktail dress that glows in the dark, not because it’s coated with chemicals, but because it’s made of fiber optics controlled by your phone.
AI-Driven Outfit Recommendations
AI is revolutionizing personal styling. Apps now scan your closet, understand your preferences, and suggest outfits based on the weather, trends, or even your mood. Fashion-forward tech is personal, predictive, and always learning from your choices.
Real World Examples of Fashion-Forward Tech
Google x Levi’s Commuter Jacket
One of the most iconic collaborations in this space, this jacket lets cyclists control their music, answer calls, or get directions just by swiping the sleeve. It's durable, stylish, and deeply embedded with tech you barely notice.
The Rise of 3D-Knitted Sneakers
Brands like Adidas and Nike are creating sneakers customized to the shape of your foot using 3D knitting and printing. They’re breathable, lightweight, and waste less material — marrying sustainability with style.
Dress X and the Digital Fashion Boom
What if your next Instagram outfit didn’t exist physically? Digital fashion platforms like Dress X allow users to buy and wear virtual clothing for their digital lives. It’s fashion for the metaverse and beyond.
Sustainable Side of Fashion-Forward Tech
Reducing Textile Waste Through Data
Tech-driven fashion can predict demand more accurately, minimizing overproduction. AI and data science are helping brands cut back on waste while still staying stylishly ahead of the curve.
On-Demand Fashion and Smart Manufacturing
With fashion-forward tech, brands can manufacture garments on demand, ensuring fewer unsold items, less fabric waste, and a cleaner footprint. This model is not only better for the planet but also allows more room for personalization.
How Fashion-Forward Tech is Changing Consumer Behavior
Shopping Becomes Smarter, Not Harder
From smart mirrors that let you try on outfits virtually to AR filters showing how clothes will look in different lighting, fashion-forward tech makes decision-making simpler and more interactive.
Personalized Style Through Data Learning
Brands now learn from your behavior — what you like, what you buy, and how you wear it. This makes recommendations eerily accurate, giving you a wardrobe that feels uniquely yours.
Challenges Faced by the Fashion-Tech Industry
Balancing Comfort with Circuits
Let’s be real: tech can get uncomfortable. Nobody wants wires poking their skin or batteries overheating mid-party. Designers are working hard to make sure these smart garments feel as good as they look.
Tech Fatigue and Fashion’s Emotional Touch
In a world oversaturated with screens, some people crave a break. Fashion is emotional — it tells stories. The challenge is ensuring tech enhances rather than distracts from that storytelling.
The Role of Fashion-Forward Tech in Body Inclusivity
Adaptive Clothing Powered by Technology
Think of clothing that adjusts itself based on movement or need. This kind of adaptive fashion helps people with disabilities or chronic illnesses maintain comfort and dignity — all while looking stylish.
Personalized Fit with 3D Body Scanning
Forget size charts. With 3D scanning, clothes can now be tailored to your exact body shape, ensuring a perfect fit every time — no more awkward returns or ill-fitting pants.
The Impact on Designers and Creatives
Collaborating with Engineers and Developers
Fashion designers are learning to speak tech — and vice versa. These collaborations lead to some stunning results, where a coder and a couturier co-create the future of fashion.
Code as a Canvas: The New Digital Sketchpad
Designers now use code to design garments that can change, adapt, or respond. Creativity has moved beyond pen and paper — it's gone digital, reactive, and even wearable.
Fashion-Forward Tech on the Runway
Iconic Tech Moments at Fashion Weeks
From garments that morph shape on stage to models interacting with their clothes mid-walk, runways have become showcases for innovation. These aren’t just shows — they’re experiences.
Fashion Houses Embracing Wearable Innovation
Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Chanel are beginning to weave tech into their collections — not as a gimmick, but as a statement of what's next.
The Future of Fashion Retail
Virtual Fittings & AR Mirrors
Shopping is becoming an immersive experience. Virtual fitting rooms let you try clothes from your couch, while AR mirrors show how an outfit fits from every angle — even before you try it on.
Blockchain for Transparency in Fashion Supply Chains
Consumers want to know where their clothes come from. Blockchain helps track every step, from raw material to finished product, offering transparency like never before.
Fashion-Forward Tech in Everyday Life
Office Wear That Tracks Stress Levels
Imagine a shirt that knows when you're anxious and sends calming vibrations or alerts you to take a break. This isn’t fiction — it's wearable wellness built into your outfit.
Fitness Meets Fashion Beyond the Gym
Stylish leggings that track your form, posture-correcting shirts, or even socks that analyze pressure points — fashion-forward tech makes self-care stylish.
Getting Started with Fashion-Forward Tech at Home
DIY Smart Fabrics and Fashion Tech Kits
There are beginner kits for people who want to sew their first light-up hoodie or design a mood-reactive bag. You don’t need to be an engineer — just a curious creator.
Online Communities Leading the Fashion-Tech Revolution
Communities on Reddit, YouTube, and Discord are buzzing with DIY fashion-tech tutorials, shared experiments, and support. It’s a new kind of fashion tribe.
Conclusion: The Fusion of Form, Function, and the Future
Fashion-forward tech isn’t just a trend — it’s a transformation. As technology becomes more personal, wearable, and intuitive, it’s also becoming more beautiful. It’s reshaping how we express ourselves, how we connect, and how we feel in our skin.
Fashion has always been about telling stories — and now, those stories are becoming interactive, dynamic, and deeply connected to the world around us.
So, next time you zip up your jacket or lace your sneakers, ask yourself: what if your outfit could do more?

Time to Judge Leighton Whitlock
My favorite part of the day is here and it is time to judge Ms. Leighton Whitlock!
We all saw what she put up today and if you didn’t, then fret not because I am here to share them with you!
If you want a peak at her day, you can click here, here, and, here
For Leighton's first post.... is that an athlete or a gym goddess?! Hold on to your protein shakes, because Leighton Whitlock is back at it, breaking hearts and sweat at Red Edge, California! If this is what a "day in the life" looks like for Leighton, sign us up for some cardio ASAP! In a whirlwind of muscle tees, shorts, and "just-woke-up-like-this" hair, Leighton gave everyone a masterclass in looking both exhausted and gorgeous at the same time. Can anyone else pull off the “I just crushed this workout but also kinda forgot to sleep last night” look like this queen? Now onto her second part of her day, Breaking News: Leighton Whitlock Bakes, Slays, and Serves… Cookies! Fashionistas, brace yourselves! Our favorite Red Edge darling, Leighton Whitlock, has traded her usual gym glam for oven mitts and apron realness, and honestly? We are living for it! Spotted in the kitchen, whipping up some cookies that, let's be real, probably taste like sweet, sugary perfection, Leighton gave us the ultimate "Betty Crocker but make it fashion" moment. In a pink skirt and coordinating kitchen accessories (because of course she matches her mixer!), this baking queen is proving you can serve looks while serving…well, actual cookies. Can we talk about those gloves though? Hot pink with a side of “don’t mess with me, these cookies are serious business." Forget the runway, it's all about the ovenway today. Who knew culinary couture was a thing? Well, Leighton apparently did! So, did she spend the day relaxing or playing hooky? Either way, we hope her next endeavor is a cookie giveaway because, let's face it, the entire internet is now craving a taste of those iconic treats. And finally her last post...Leighton Whitlock just dropped her late-night bomb: her bestie Jack is in town, and he's here to shake things up! Rocking those classic “geek-chic” vibes with glasses that scream "I'm cooler than you," Jack declared his top-tier friendship status. Leighton, ever the queen of multitasking, managed to look adorable while sipping on what we can only assume is her signature drink.
Not a bad day in your life Leigh. Looking forward to more craziness from you soon
xoxo

for some reason it took me approx. 2 hundred years to edit these photos of my 2nd star to the right dress taken at dragoncon but here they are! this dress was inspired by pixie dust, tinker bell, and traveling to neverland! ✨✨✨🌈
Tumblr media
the beading on the central star and rainbow was done by hand, as was all the gathering on the front and back of the dress. the train is a separate piece which slips into the lace-up back so it can be removed in crowded spaces. this design originally debuted on the sdcc 2022 her universe fashion show runway and also includes a matching night sky coat.

It's been a long time since I drew one of these (the last geek couture art I did was the Shinobu Kocho dress).
Anyway, finished the storyline of Metroid Dread last weekend and it was quite the rollercoaster ride! OMG I got soooo inspired to draw a masquerade-style gown based on Raven Beak.
I have many variations for his appearance so stick around! And I got a design for Quiet Robe too!
Message me if you would like to use this illustration for your future cosplay.

Wait for It - A Geek Couture design inspired by Aaron Burr from Hamilton ~ d e s i g n d e t a i l s ~
My design started as the question, "What would Aaron Burr wear if he were a rapper walking the Grammys red carpet?"
I knew I wanted to make a streetwear version of an 18th century men’s coat. These coats often had heavy embroidery running down each side, with elaborate hand-stitched motifs. I decided to take this concept and use it to tell Aaron Burr’s story, both in the musical and the real-life man. I heavily researched symbology, including of flowers and plants. So for example, there is rosemary for remembrance, nasturtium for patriotism, and tansy for hostility. There’s also a ship which represents his daughter Theodosia, who was lost at sea. And of course I included my favorite lyrics from Wait For It, “I am inimitable / I am an original.” I love incorporating text into my designs and those lyrics have always spoken to me deeply. This is the special beading that was a result of my friends, far and near, who sent me beads they didn’t want anymore. It’s so special to me that the beading represents my community, and it also adds an eco-friendly bonus that makes me very happy.
The top is a combination of both period and modern menswear inspiration. It’s made of super soft modal jersey from Dharma Trading Co, which I ice dyed using dark and stormy colors inspired by what Aaron Burr wears in the show. I love the ties at the wrist because they give an excellent sense of motion when Lau is in motion. The rope harness represents Burr's tightly restricted personality, and is also a nod to the set, which is rigged to look almost like the deck of a ship.
The joggers are rayon blend purple velvet with a tux stripe made of color-changing fabric. This represents Burr's changing personality through the course of the show.

I'm hard at work on completing my outfit, but as usual, things have come up that have made me go over budget, and I could really use some help. You can get some goodies in exchange for helping me fund this project. :)
