My Universe Ep 1.1: Casanova Begins Stray Thoughts

Let's begin this year's Close Friend, Top Secret Together, or Gen Y variety BL project. The iQIYI naming convention is weird since they're saying 12 episodes about 11 couples. I may adjust my naming along the way.

There are a lot of boys in this. It's so many when you see the scroll of them all.

I'm going to presume that this story is called Casanova Begins for now.

Off to an odd start. Our protagonist was shocked yesterday during an electrical event, and now has lost two years worth of memories.

Wait. Now he's dead and in possession of another body? He can't tell anyone or he has 24 minutes left to live? Oh, Thai BL.

This already feels messy. Kim seems like he was messing around with a brother and a sister, and then was flirting with someone else at a bar?

There are a lot of references to an internal history I am not aware of. Seems like Pleum was with Khao, but has been dead for two years?

Oh, they're explaining. Whew. Kim is a player. Pluem was killed two years ago.

Oh whoa wtf was that with Khao's reaction to the card? What did Kim do to him?

Now Pluem is pursuing his former boyfriend from Kim's body, and Khao has many valid reasons to not be into him at all. Girls, this is messy.

So we're gonna have Kim be a romantic lead in their MV opposite the girl we've convinced he's over?

This concept is very weird. I'm glad this won't be an 8-12 episode affair.

Sounds like Pluem was a jealous boyfriend.

The previews show this is going to get weirder.

My goodness. I hope all of these stories aren't as strange. I felt like I was working hard to keep everyone's perspectives straight the entire episode.

Les Skyblog font partie du passé, dont Rock-for-the-dead. Archivé, j'ai tout de même réussi à le récupérer ! Quel soulagement. Nous y sommes donc, nous y revoilà, dans cette capsule temporelle. Comment ça va ? Une vie qui a changé

Et oui, la plus grosse mise à jour de ma vie. Je relis mes précédents posts et ce qui me vient à l'esprit directement, c'est ce changement. Je sens globalement qu'il en ressort énormément de questionnement sur ma vie mes choix, mes angoisses.

Aujourd'hui, il me semble que pas mal de choses ont évolué. Oui, j'ai quitté mon ancien job CDI le 24/02/2023 (ouah ça fait 2ans) Et que dire ?

Que d'aventures

Mon entreprise Para production se porte bien, tout doucement. On me demande d'être productif, je suis plutôt un aventurier qui a exploré et qui aujourd'hui sent que ces projets prennent de l'ampleur. Vraiment, depuis tout ce temps j'ai exploré plein de choses : je fais des mariages, j'ai tourné des clips, de superbes rencontres etc. Tout est sur mes réseaux donc grâce à toutes ces productions, je suis enchanté de pouvoir me replonger dans ces moments la. N87 se porte super bien puisque le 26/04, on organise notre plus bel évènement à l'Autre canal ! L'équipe à bien grandi et commence à se suffire à elle même. Et Parallelism ? J'ai cru lire que j'essayais d'enfouir mes pensées négatives, mes angoisses et mes peurs dans mes chansons. C'est bien le cas ! Et ça fonctionne : dénoncer les injustices, montrer la beauté de la nature (Skizopara) etc, je commence à avoir ma véritable identité : partager des moments simples avec des gens, que ce soit professionnellement ou à travers des évènements ! En vrai, J'ai bien progressé c'est cool ! C'est prometteur mais je me suis aussi recentré sur la véritable musique, celle qu'on joue, et pas seulement avec des machines. On a créé pas mal de compos avec un handpan. Je ne me prends plus trop la tête, je joue et compose, et on verra (oui j'ai sorti mon premier EP en Novembre 2024, que de souvenirs !!!) Quoi, j'ai dit évènement ? Et oui, car avec mon meilleur ami Alexis (déjà présent sur ce blog à l'époque), on a décidé de se lancer dans la création d'évènements : Écho & Saveurs, anciennement Nature Musique et Dégustation. L'idée ? Profiter le temps d'un instant (le nombre de fois que j'ai écrit ces lignes...) d'une expérience exclusive autour d'une degustation culinaire avec des produits locaux et de saison, dans de jolis endroits atypiques de nos régions (pleine nature ou de jolis domaines),, le tout dans une ambiance musicale chaleureuse accompagné de musiciens talentueux. Ouah, ouais, c'est grave cool en vrai. Le concept est sympa mais il y a encore beaucoup de choses à faire ! ça m'angoisse un peu (je ne connais tjrs pas le raccourci pour le ç majuscule). En bref Je me suis écouté. J'ai décidé de changer de vie. Cela m'a permis de me trouver, de commencer à m'épanouir. Ce n'est pas sans difficulté, aujourd'hui je vis avec très peu d'argent, mais ça me suffit. Je suis fier, heureux de vivre des instants magiques avec des amis, des professionnels, donc j'en profite. On ne sait pas vraiment ce qui se passera d'ici quelque temps. Oui l'ombre de l'effondrement environnemental se cesse de grandir, une guerre aussi, les gouvernements et les milliardaires corrompus etc... Mais je crois que nos forces résident dans l'entraide et le partage, en petit comité. ça nous aide à grandir et à faire changer les mentalités, tout doucement. Forcément, ça me tourmente toujours, mais je crois avoir trouvé ce juste milieu qui pour l'instant est correct. Alizée est toujours aussi forte et pétillante. Elle a repris ses études en tant qu'infirmière. 27ans, c'est l'âge de mon dernier post, et elle est déterminée ! Elle profite, on profite, on vit convenablement, et on se construit un avenir tout simple mais joli ! J'ai hâte de lire ces mots, car je suis assez optimiste pour me dire que la prochaine fois, j'aurais encore accompli des choses, et que même si cela ne se passe pas comme prévu, j'aurais été heureux d'écrire ses mots et d'avoir vécus ces aventures ! Mes parents vont bien, le padré en a bavé mais il va être en retraite ! La madré en a marre de travailler mais elle profite de la vie simplement ! On va partir en voyage à Bargème ensemble cet été, et on avait bien profité de notre séjour dans les Alpes il y a 1 an.

Ma journée : Aujourd'hui est une journée type : je programme des posts pour faire de la pub pour notre évènement Écho & Saveurs du 05/04, pareil pour notre évènement N87, je vais faire un peu de son, les chats vont bien, et euh j'ai joué un peu à Fortnite (mdrr le défis top 1 couronné avec L'ami Peseux) Update du 30/03, un violent acouphène est apparu.

- Je suis bien, je suis heureux d'avoir changé. je ne regretterai pas, comme me l'avait dit certains rappeur "le pire dans la vie c'est pas qu'il t'arrive quelque chose c'est qu'il t'arrive rien" "je ferai tout pour pas être un cinquantenaire paumé". Donc ouais l'insouscience est loin, les projets sont la et me font vibrer !

L'entraide, le partage, les amis, l'amour, la nature ! ouais d'ailleurs j'ai bien fête mes 30ans avec les potos ! Au lieu dit "La faite" pour le moi du futur qui ne saura pas s'en souvenir)

Gen Y ep 11 thoughts/reaction

- yeees, make thanuwayu canon!

- i literally just want wayu to be happy

- one of my favorite things about this show is how mature the characters feel, like a majority of the conflicts are caused by the characters being confused or unsure of their feelings and trying to take time to work through them and this unintentionally hurts other characters, but this feels more genuine than a bunch of drama created by stupid misunderstandings and characters being petty, and yes, communication would help a lot of these problems, but it never feels like the writers are just adding things in for no other reason than ‘drama’

- anyways, back to thanuwayu and that beautiful hug and wayu’s precious smile

- that brief flash of thanu’s smile, looking so genuinely happy to have wayu in his arms

- poor phai tho, I don’t want any of my babies getting hurt

- anybody else freak out for a second when he took off his shirt in the mirror and worry that he had gotten the tattoo then were immediately relieved when his back was still bare? just me?

- i tend to prefer college shows rather than high school ones, but my favorite thing about high school thai bls is how accurately they portray high school boys, just boys goofing off, showing their sexy hips

- pls poktong just kiss and make up already, i liked you a lot better when your genre was fluff

- watching pok being all flirty and douchy just seems out of character

- 15 min in and still no markkit

- i’m glad the whole blackmailing plot has now been fully explained, but seeing sandee suddenly smirking and being an asshole is giving me the same feelings as when poktong got weirdly aggressive last ep (by feelings i mean confusion and dislike)

- i wanted phai to end up with sandee bc sandee was so cute and sweet but i don’t know if i want that anymore

- also i forgive tong a little bit for what he did (getting pok beat up not switching the test scores) knowing that he had good(ish) intentions, he still fucked up tho and did a bad thing

- i’m calling it now, either next ep or next season, right when poktong is finally making progress, pok will find out about the switched scores and bam, drama

- pls poktong just kiss and make up already

- i know this scene is supposed to be romantic and all but i can’t stop cringing at the placement of the kisses, like next to the mouth but not quite the cheek? the chin??

- back to my preferred high school babies

- i can’t stop laughing at how they all got the coming of age parted bangs hairstyle to symbolize that they’re in college now

- all the high school babies look good except for pok who now has too much forehead, not that his style before was great but it was better

- thanu is such boyfriend material

- that phaiwayu hug hurts my soul, wayu looks so happy, i just want them both to be happy and not get hurt

- Finally!! 25 min in and finally we get markkit

- i want more of this thanu, thanu with a smile and joking around with his friends

- jack and jew kidknapping mark like that was prob my favorite moment of the whole episode, that gif is now my header

- alright, padbok is back, still waiting for their story, but i kinda hope their resolution waits till season 2 bc i want character development for padbok and there’s already so much that needs to happen next ep that i think his story would only be rushed and somewhat glossed over

- i know some people hate padbok, and i also find him annoying, but ever since they dropped the idea of padbok x sab in an earlier ep, all i want is padbok redemption ark

- i guess thanu is somehow going to feature in the poktong story

- honestly, their story has a lot of potential but something about it is just really not working well for me and i think its the weird aggression bc they don’t annoy me when their being sweet and smiling. I think if pok had more of a bad boy vibe originally it would’ve been better bc the aggression wouldn’t seem so ooc and the conflict would feel a bit more natural

- their story also has a ton of parallels to ittpai (my gear your gown), so im interested how it’s going to go bc i did like ittpai despite the narrative issues of that show

- i really appreciate thanu just saying straight out that he has feelings for wayu, i know he struggled with it, but i like him coming to this point that’s like yes, he feels an attraction to phai, he feels drawn to him and he’s seen their poential future, but right now he has actual, solid feelings for wayu built up from their interactions over months

- what he has with phai isn’t real--it could be real, if he went down that path and choose to get closer to phai, but right now his feelings for wayu are real, so that’s what he’s choosing

- him saying they should never meet again was a little tho, spare my poor baby phai at least a little bit

- i get a dose of serotonin every time i see kit wearing mark’s gear

- the markkit is lacking this ep but they are trying to make up for it with all this good good thanuwayu content

- i’m torn between wanting and not wanting thanu to tell wayu about phai bc it will hurt wayu if he does but it’s gonna hurt more later on when wayu finds out on his own

- I can’t tell if wayu has a suspicion about phai, like he def senses there’s another person but I can’t tell if he knows it’s phai

- okay but thanuwayu are so cute and sweet together

- pls let my babies kiss, i couldn’t appreciate their first kiss bc i didn’t ship them then and wayu thought it was pha so pls let them have a do over

- you know what, i like thanuwayu having visions like thanuphai. I can’t quite tell if that was the writers’ intention, but i hope it is bc that would imply that thanuphai aren’t actually soulmates and that what they see is just a potential future, like they could be happy together, but there are also other people who they can be happy with

- i’m not super crazy about this whole ‘let’s rewrite my memories of pha with memories of you’ bc that doesn’t seem like the healthiest way to move on from pha or to start a new relationship but whatever makes wayu happy i guess

- however i do like how it ties into the whole ‘no predetermined fate’ thing and shows how life is shaped by choices and chance

- pls let my babies kiss tho

- hey so i am not liking this preview of the next ep

- anyways, so i’m liking how their handling the thanuwayuphai thing so far, but it is going to be bad next ep as im assuming the envelope that has phai’s picture is probably phai returning the picture to cut ties but obvi wayu is going to find out about their relationship

- still not sure how i feel about poktong, its better than last ep which i did not like and def shows more potential, but i think we’re gonna have to wait and see, don’t like the direction they’re taking with sandee tho

Gen Why? Episode 11

Thank god we didn’t get Thanu/Wayu sexy times is all I can say.  They were less in evidence this episode so the fast forwarding didn’t get too onerous.  Although there was extra fast forwarding due to singing so...

Kit and Mark ARE having sexy times thank the sweet baby jeebus.  Finally.  Although Kit still needs a smack for being so stubborn and stupid and he needs to spoil Mark FOR ALL OF ETERNITY because he’s such a sweetheart.  I would be more annoyed with Kit for this whole scholarship bullshit but can’t get past the squee.

Pok and Tong didn’t have any scenes where they were in the same shot but at least they’re back on track and I want to see big kissing next week (and possibly a redo of the shower scene from Ep. 4 - for science).

Sandee and Phai were disappointingly absent and KohJack were basically in it to be flower boys for the character henceforth known as Gelatinous Blob One.*

Padbok popped up to be threatening because, apparently,  we can’t just have an ep 12 where The Blobs are off bobbing around somewhere and we get to see all the couples with chemistry being cute for an hour.  Grrr.  

One more left. Phew.   

*I have decided that Thanu (Blob One) and Wayu (Blob Two) have less chemistry than wood - rubbing wood together vigorously can create sparks and fire.  They are just blobs who bump up against each other every now and again.

9/11 Fahlanruk (Thai) 

GaGa Sundays, 10 eps, 45 min ea.

Fahlan (smart jock) meets Sherbet (edgy bad boy) sparks fly and they end up in bed together. Fahlan feels a lot more for Sherbet than is allowed, so he hides his feelings. Fahlan’s friends Ping and Tap, try to help their boy win his man, but are struggling with friends-to-lovers woes of their own. Looks to be a strong contender in the Thai BL pulp dumpster fire of joy arena. It’s using tropes we rarely see and it tonally seems like a combination of Nitiman + Y-Destiny’s players episode (2 of my 2021 favorites). I like sexually messy and identity confused college dramas but Love Mechanics might have tapped me out. 

Y-novel adaptation featuring a pining seme and high heat, from director Koo who has a long back catalogue of shows, if not a great track record with BL (Club Friday and Tonhon Chonlatee are his). 

9/14 Once Again (Korea) 

Viki Thursdays, 8 eps, 25 min ea  

Time-slip fantasy BL from Moving Picture studio & Idol Romance behind Wish You, Ryu's Wedding, Tasty Florida, Tinted With You, and Kissable Lips (also forthcoming Happy Ending Outside The Fence and The Circumstances of Pungdeok Villa Room 304). Stars actors (no idols) Moon Ji Young (also star in an upcoming BL The New Employee), Lee Hyuk Jun, and Kang Woo Jung. 

JaeWoo lives with childhood trauma. He travels to the past where he meets JiHoon, a law student who JaeWoo admires most in the world. Will he be able to change both their fates?

Told from the perspective of the female best friend who is against (?) the workplace gay relationship of her bff. Also there is another gay plot line.

From Thailand’s Mflow Entertainment for Ch3Thailand. Adapted from a Y-novel, directed by Nob (La Cuisine, Gen Y). Secondary couple Nan & Sippakorn are IRL husbands Arm & Porsch (Together with Me). Familiar faces include Gun (Love Area’s Valen) and Jom (Nitiman’s Jin).

This is actually the inception story of the characters of AiNi in Tonhon Chonlatee which I didn’t realize. Now I loved those characters, but I disliked that series from a story standpoint and this is the same author so I’m now nervous.

Comfort the Boy AKA A Shoulder to Cry On (Korea)

Looks to be a longer than usual KBL, got an R15+ rating for topic & vulgarity (we likey), stars idols Jaehan & Yechan BOTH from Kpop group OMEGA X (we scairedy). Interesting that an idol company is allowing two idols from the same group star in a BL together. *danger will robinson.” 

Adaptation of Dongmul's manwha A Shoulder to Cry On, high school set, features a teasing confident gay, and a rich/poor pairing, about homophobia/gossip putting a scholarship in jeopardy. 

SELF the series (Thai) 

No international distribution as yet, no known length.

From Studio Common about a young artist who mysteriously loses his reflection and sees a strange boy in the mirror instead. Stars fresh faces, directed by Too (Triage) and NutSor (screenwriter of Dew).

Happy Ending Outside the Fence (Korea ) 

No international distribution as yet, probably usual KBL length. 

JungWoo is a writer who disappeared after being treated unfairly in the publishing industry. TaeYoung, the head of a publishing company, admires and wants him to write again. JungHyun became a star by borrowing JungWoo's writings. The three characters interact and drama results. Stars idol Leo of VIXX. 

Magic of Zero: Zero Supporter (Thai) 

GMMTV feat advertisement specail (c 45 min) on their YT channel 

Cupid's Last Wish spin off, features EarthMix in another bodyswap on this time with each other (KornWin). I disliked the origin show intensely, so I can’t see myself watching this.

Yes I’ve decided that instead of just posting gifs all the time I should also interact more and thus make more talking posts. One of them is were I will talk about what I’m watching and what upcoming shows I’m excited for. Do note this post could contain small spoilers.

Gen Y S2

This show is a disaster. What the hell is Starhunter doing? One ship is was doing well and then poof stupid out of character drama. Then one ship is in shambles. And the dead ass boring ship is sort of together. They better fix PokTong or else this show will get a really low rating for me.

Not Me

THIS SHOW IS THE BEST GMMTV SHOW SO FAR. HOLY DAMM. This is so good. The politcal commentary and everything. EP7 was everything. It really was. But also the kiss in EP8 OMG. This show could become my highest rated BL along with ITSAY.

Paint With Love

This show went really well until EP9. The writers threw in stupid drama that lasted for 2 eps and it made me angry. The last ep had me shook but it didn’t totaly make up for the two previous eps. I also hate how we get a last minute get together for both couples. 

You’re My Sky

If there is any BL that sucked me in it’s this one. The rating for this on MDL is way to low. The cinematography and music for this BL is great. I also love all 3 couples. I hate having to wait each week for a new ep. I also saw a preview for this weeks ep and OMG SATURDAY NEEDS TO COME NOW.

This month I saw there are 17 Thai bl’s to watch. 17! Damm that’s a lot. I’m sure enough of them are low quality however. For this month there’s only 2 upcoming shows I’m excited for. It was 3 but with shady things going on with Mandee works I’m no longer interested in their bl’s.

Our Days (19 Feb, GaGaOoLaLa)

Yes it is another school BL but it has one of my faves in it Offroad. Besides competing in Lazicon he was also busy shooting this BL. I hope the story is solid and we get good acting.

Also another school BL but it’s co produced by best boy Saint. And that along is already enough reason to watch. It also has a GL couple so another reason to watch. I’m on the fence with the plot tho. A cute stalker? We will see how that goes. I’m excited for Heng and Surprise tho.

POP STAR AMBER LIU RELEASES EP “Z!” WITH LEAD SINGLE “EASIER” FT. JACKSON WANG

Global pop star, Amber Liu, has released her final EP of her trilogy ‘Z!’  on all digital streaming platforms via EMPIRE. Over the past few months, Liu has already released three hit singles from this new body of work as a little tease for what’s to come from one of her most playful but serious albums to date. The music video for her title song of the album, “Easier,” features the international phenomenon Jackson Wang, and will be released on February 28.

The EP “Z!” is the last in the recent series that began with “X” in 2019 and “y?” in early 2021. While “X” was about crossing over to something new, “y?” dove into Amber’s internal struggles. Finally, “Z!” marks a perfect ending to the trilogy; a declaration and commitment to herself that she’ll always be “Amber” even though she is just finally getting to know herself.

As a well-rounded icon, the singer-songwriter brilliantly showcases each single with different music styles and topics in “Z!”. In her ability to easily maneuver through various musical expressions, it ultimately made Amber the versatile and world-renowned artist she is today. Demonstrating her hypnotic vocal abilities through “Paradise,” she gives listeners an other-worldy beat and musical experience to tune into. Along with the first track, the musical star expresses her progression in life as being independent in the up-beat pop song “Don’t Dance”. cherry magic because it makes me feel warm inside

and also very few romance focused dramas make me feel welcomed and included within a world as an aroace person and cherry magic is one of the few gems that did that (obviously i don't watch romance dramas to feel validated lol but it was nice you know to watch it and not feel forgotten about you know?)

i don't really have one i don't think, unless we include the mess that was my clownery when watching MoDC but that wasn't really because of the drama itself it was my own clownery

bad buddy probably & there's others but my mind has gone blank lol

4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?

for korean bls short series like 8 eps that are 15 minutes, another one but this isn't just for bl dramas it can be said for dramas of all kinds time jumps and miscommunication. one i really hate in bls and it's the jealous best friend who has secretly been in love with their best friend & attempts to destroy their happiness trope and the gay for you trope obviously

oh also if we want to talk specific dramas for call it what you want 2 i wish they handled the reveal of the SA in the finale better (you can see my thoughts on it here, spoilers obviously)

5. that one bl you detest (don't hold back)

history 1: obsessed, i know this is a favourite for a lot of people but my god why.... the only decent part of this was the first scene after that it just went down hill. literally my lowest rated drama of all time lol and that's saying something

1. Your all time favorite bl and why

It's Bad Buddy. I am sorry to sound generic but an introvert like me started POSTING on tumblr because of this show. It's Bad Buddy. I have no qualms. Come @ me, I DONT CARE.

As for the reason, I think BB kind of has paved the way for a better future for the BL industry. Its characteristic feature is that it employs literally all BL tropes but in a way that doesn't make us cringe at the misogynistic and heteronormative undertones that every other BL shamelessly over - employs.

(Honestly how I am supposed to watch another bl after this, I have no clue).

2. That one bl that scarred you for life

I won't say it SCARRED me but the last few eps of Bite Me were truly upsetting. The one thing I hate is half assed endings that do NOT keep up with how the first half of the series went. It sucked and I was so sad that I couldn't even watch it after ep 7 or something. And I was even an actual fan of the slow romance. (I Know it's an UNPOPULAR OPINION OKAY)

Other than that, I just simply do not watch emotionally scarring stuff. Sorry, I am fragile and CANNOT do bad and sad endings.

Also, perhaps the fact that BB almost was about to give us a sad/ambiguous ending did emotionally scar me 😌

3. Is there any bl that made you feel very single

I mean other than BB as a whole bl that made me feel super uper duper single, cuz OHM and NANON, I also felt weirdly single when I saw Mark and Kit interactions in Gen Y S1. Idk, it's something about the whole sunshine and tsundere chemistry that STRIKES me. OH other than that, there were so many instances in 1000 stars (ESPECIALLY EPISODE 5 WHERE THEY LITERALLY BLUSHED AND FLIRTED WITH EACH OTHER asking for kite matches and whatnot ugh it was too much for my heart to handle).

4. If you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?

Make Pure and Folk the main couple of My Gear and Your Gown (2020). They were splendid, and although I like Marc, babe, I think you need to work a bit more on your acting skills.

5. That one bl you detest (don’t hold back)

I dont really detest any. There are millions which made me cringe so hard that I stopped watching, though. There is no space for detest in my heart 😌🤣.

Gen Y Ep 10 thoughts/reaction

- I was excited for them to finally do it but kit falling asleep was pretty adorable, plus I always love to see a pouty mark (plus I’m glad their first time wasn’t when kit was drunk)

-  kit waking up, seeing mark’s clothes, realizing the situation, and immediately grabbing mark’s engineering shirt to cover himself up is just *chef’s kiss*

- petition for kit to wear mark’s engineering shirt at least once an episode

- mark: I want to give you my most important thing

  me: gear gear gear gear

  mark: grabs the gear

  me: *squeals*

- but seriously I loved that whole sequence it was so sweet

- markkit is def in my top 5 bl couples

- I am very glad phai is addressing the fact that some of those visions did not imply a happily ever after

- after watching this ep I am now pretty confident that it’s thanuwayu and phaisandee endgame

- I need them to stop introducing new characters i cant keep up (even if they are very cute)

- mark being ready to move in together and open a bank account together, I love the domesticity

- boy do i not like the weird twist the poktong story has taken and i was already only lukewarm on it in the first place, but since this is kinda long already i’ll make a separate post about it

- all the schemes to keep wayu and thanu apart are cute but also sad

- damn this situation sucks bc there’s really no way to resolve it without wayu getting hurt in some way

- anyway, other than the poktong thing, my only complaint about the ep is not enough markkit but there’s never enough, other than that i’m just invested in seeing where this story goes, i’m also pretty hopeful that we’ll avoid the ep 11 breakup seeing how good and healthy markkit’s relationship is, so fingers crossed
