House Call
Fandom: Genshin Impact

Warnings/Extra Notes: Mentions of blood, Mentions of injuries (nothing too graphic), Mentions of death, Mentions of hospitals, Slight cussing, Can be seen as slightly suggestive (Diluc's part), Slight spoilers, Use of Childes multiple names, Not proof-read (pls excuse any grammatical errors thx), Lmk if there's more!
Aether:
Being in a relationship with Aether -the Honorary Knight of Mondstat, the Hero of Liyue, the Captain of Swordfish II in Inazuma, the First Sage of Buer in Sumeru, plus whatever other title he will inevitably get- wasn’t always the easiest believe it or not. Not because he would ever treat you unwell (you guys had your petty fights, then again, what couple didn’t?) he'd rather die than hurt you (his words, not yours). It was more so the things that came with him being an adventurer. You know, not staying at a place longer than needed, helping everyone that you'd come across, the very frequent run-in with death. Normal things.
But you would be lying if you didn’t admit how worried you would get for Aether. You know he can handle himself, that at most he would come back with a few scratches (usually), but it could still make you lose sleep. He would never tell you when he was hurt (Something about not wanting to worry you? What a weirdo.), and you know he doesn’t really take care of himself, often putting others before himself. Which, ironically, only made you worry more because sometimes he would come back with an injury that requires more attention than a scratch. Sometimes he would come back limping, unable to hide that he was hurt. Sometimes, which includes right now, you would freak out seeing the state he was in.
You guys were in Liyue for a few days before you continued your journey to Mondstat. Aether had just left to finish his daily commissions while you patiently waited for him at the inn. After a while, you started getting worried he never took this long to clear out a few hilichurls. Your worries were cut short with the sharp sound of the door unlocking and your boyfriend hastily walking in. You froze, noticing the still bleeding cut on his arm, starting at his shoulder and ending near his elbow. Aether was frantically trying to make sure none of the blood dripped off his arm all the while asking you about your day. Watching the blood still drip down his arm, you were about to scold him for being so reckless but decided against it. You noticed how quickly his face lit up once he saw you despite being in tremendous pain and couldn't bring yourself to be upset at him. Instead, you grab a towel to cover his arm and start dragging him to Baizhus pharmacy for proper treatment.
"You should have just gone to Baizhu first." you mumble, glancing back at him.
"I wanted to see you first," he replied, averting his gaze from yours. "I missed you."
Oh. You might need to see Baizhu too. After all, your heart wasn't supposed to beat this fast, right?

Diluc:
Getting to know Diluc at all was already a difficult task. Truly getting to know Diluc was somehow even more difficult, but you managed. It took a lot of time and even more patience, but you managed. He let you in fully, and you wouldn't dare to leave. You knew about his nightly activities, and while you would often make fun of it or get worried over him, you supported him nonetheless. At first, you were skeptical (I mean really? Running around at night killing abyss mages in a silly mask? Yeah, okay) and didn't really believe him. But the first night he came home with fresh new scratches and bruises, you quickly realized he wasn't joking.
The first time he came home all scratched up, you rightfully panicked. It was just the break of dawn, the sun slowly started to pour into the room through the tiny gaps in the curtain. You woke up to an empty bed, which freaked you out, to say the least. Diluc would still be in bed around this time, but maybe he just headed downstairs earlier today? You slowly got out of bed and started to head downstairs. You, in all your sleepy glory, bumped into multiple different walls on your way down. But those minor "injuries" were absolutely nothing when compared to what you saw on Diluc. Diluc was downstairs, in the kitchen, calmly cleaning up the blood around a bruise on his stomach. You froze in the middle of the doorway for two reasons: 1) Oh my god, is that blood? Is he hurt? Why is he hurt? and 2) Oh my God, is he shirtless? He seemed to have noticed you since when you finally came back to your senses, you saw a sheepish smile on his face while he greeted you.
That day, you learned that he would come home and quickly get cleaned up before heading back to bed to greet you. He didn't want to show you the ugly sides of what he does or something along those lines. You, on the other hand, would have none of it. After that day, you would wake up earlier (or stay up later) to take care of him. Diluc obviously protested, he didn't want you to worry or lose sleep over something so trivial (his words, not yours). But in the end you got your way, and months later, you don't regret it.
In the present day, you woke up a little before dawn break, already in the kitchen waiting for Diluc to come home. You didn't have to wait much longer, since Diluc strolled into the kitchen as if he didn't spend all night fighting against abyssal creatures. He sent a warm smile your way, one which you gladly returned, before leaning against the counter next to the sink. You swiftly got to work cleaning and wrapping up all the wounds littered around his skin. Times like these were always oddly calming; the sun would slowly be rising, the birds would start chirping, and the maids in the manor weren't shuffling around yet. It was just you and Diluc...
"Did you sleep well?" Diluc asked, breaking you from your thoughts.
Ah, the main thing you loved about these times: Diluc and you got to spend time with each other uninterrupted and unbothered by the business of the day.
"Would've slept better if you had been there." you replied, cleaning the last bit of blood around his neck and looking up to meet his gaze.
Diluc smiled a bit before wrapping his arm around your waist, pulling you closer, "Then I'll be there tonight."
You smiled back before resting your head on his shoulder, cherishing the moment of bliss you get before starting your day. Yep, months later, you still don't regret a thing.

Tartaglia:
Falling in love with Ajax was one of the most terrifying things you've experienced. He was a Harbinger for the Fatui, a diplomat for Snezhnaya, and not to mention his insane blood-lust. You knew falling for someone like him would only cause you pain, physically and mentally. But, ignoring that, you were also terrified of how he made you feel. You've never experienced love like this. You've never experienced butterflies so intense, your heart never skipped so many beats, you never lost your words that much, and you never ever felt so sick. All over minuscule things he'd do too... So, despite all the red flags and other obvious reasons you should've ignored him, you couldn't stop yourself. Which led to a couple months of mutual pinning between the two of you filled with the most corny and endearing clichés you could think of. Thankfully, it ended with Childe confessing his undying love for you with the most bashful smile you've ever seen. Another (welcomed) cliché.
Even before you were in a relationship with the 11th harbinger, you were aware of the dangers of his job. You knew that Childe getting into fights and getting the occasional bruise was something to be expected. And Childe never hid any of his scars from you, always seeming to come to you to get his scrapes cleaned up. So you never worried too much over him. He didn't hide anything from you after all. You also knew how great a fighter Childe was. Sure, sometimes he could be a bit too reckless, but he always managed. Which, in hindsight, you should've questioned. Getting into constant fights with some of the strongest people in whatever region he was in and then coming back without any major injuries? Yeah, okay.
Truth be told, Childe would (obviously) get help before meeting up with you, but he also loved when you would take care of him. Leading him to only get his major injuries dealt with before meeting you. He wasn't embarrassed about any injuries he got, it's not like he didn't want to tell you about them... He just didn't want to freak you out and possibly scare you away. But that's a conversation for another time. In the end, you still found out, and not because he told you. Nope! You found out through a few Fatui soldiers talking about a certain Harbinger being rushed to the nearest clinic once they got back.
The second you heard Ajax's code name fall from their lips, you started running to the clinic that the Fatui would frequent. During the entire trip there and the whole process at the front desk, you could practically feel your heart in your ears. After what felt like years, you were finally able to see him, and Archons, did you have things to say to him. Bursting into the hospital room, you quickly went to grab his face before turning it all over.
"Archons Ajax! Are you alright- No, how are you feeling?" you rush out, fear and concern evident in your voice.
"Babe? What are you doing here?" he questioned back instead.
"What am I doing here? Did you expect to hide this from me?" you asked in response. At this point, you had stopped trying to look at all his bruises and looked straight into his eyes. Both the fear and concern that was evident in your voice, was also evident in the way you held him.
His lack of response caused you to go on a mini-rant,
"You idiot, how could you be so reckless? Don't ever do something like that again."
"Be more careful next time, or else I'm not gonna kiss you anymore- I'm being honest this time!"
The rest of your scolding fell on deaf ears as Childe looked at you with the softest smile that ever graced his pretty face. He really did love you and it was clear you loved him back just as much.
Notes: *awkward cough* hi- ANYWAY. Please take this cutely domestic little post I totally spent the past three months on it. No I didn't I was just lazy. Notice how each drabble got longer and longer yeah I have issues.

NEW GENSHIN THEORY~ *POTENIAL PAIMON SPOILERS???*
.
.
.
So, all this time in Genshin and NO ONE knows what Paimon is. We've encountered creatures, beings, and people of various walks of life and various ages, all along our journey as of 4.1's update. None of them seem to know what she is.
Amber called Paimon a 'mascot'.
Xiangling and many NPCs ask of she's 'some kind of food'.
Albedo asked if Paimon is an 'external organ' of the Traveler's.
Overworld NPCs have called her a 'white-haired talking fairy'. Some quest-locked Fatui NPCs have called her a 'seelie'. But we've encountered older beings who have seen real seelies, and even told us about them, and they never made mention of how this is knowledge Paimon should already know, nor did they say Paimon is a seelie. Meaning, she can't be a seelie. And finally, even elemental beings as old as the dragon sovereigns HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PAIMON IS.
What is she then?
She has a 'demon name' like all the gods(and Fischl) tend to have. Barbatos, Morax, Beelzebul, Baal, Buer, Focalor, Astaroth(Istaroth), Orobas(Orobaxi), Naberius, Marchosias, Decarabia, Amy(Fischl, I know)etc... They come from the Ars Goetia, and if we take that into account, then Paimon's namesake could be a hint of sorts. Focalor was known to drown people on ships and Buer dealt with philosophy and logic and loved using plants. It's not too farfetched of an idea at least.
Paimon is a direct servant to Lucifer, the Morningstar. Paimon is knowledgeable and is often depicted sharing vast knowledge and teaching others. Supposedly, he 'knows all the affairs of the world' and must answer truthfully when asked questions. Paimon's role in Genshin is to be a Guide for the Traveler(who travels the cosmos as a Star), and she is the one who taught them Teyvat's common language. In under 2 months. She's taught them much according to their joint character voice lines.
It seems to be a common theory that the Traveler is actually from Teyvat and is just returning after a VERY long time away. Ashikai, the fandom's best lore enthusiast and theorist, suggested them to be an old user logging into their account after a very LONG TIME AWAY. That would explain how they have no Constellation or alignment prior to touching a Statue of the Seven, but the moment they do, it stutters to life with a heartbeat and suddenly gifts them a Constellation.
Statues of the Seven are connected to the Ley Lines, which are connected to Irminsul, which holds all the knowledge and memories of Teyvat. So, the moment the Traveler 'signed in' the knowledge receptacle of Teyvat recognized them to an extent. We know the sibling is considered to be from Teyvat somehow, so it's likely that the Traveler is also from Teyvat, but their account's data has been lost or wiped.
This theory is pretty solid, and I like the idea a lot. So, I build off of it for this.
The Traveler awakens after losing their sibling to the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles and has no idea what is going on. They don't know what's been happening this entire time, and it's when they meet Paimon that they finally get information. That they finally find a way to even get to information.
So, my idea is that Paimon isn't actually a real being by herself. She's not the Primordial One with stripped memories. She's not the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles in disguise. She isn't a seelie who fell from heaven and forgot her origins. She isn't the remaining Moon Sister who forgot her origins.
I think she's just a manifestation of the Traveler's desperation. The Traveler can wield the Elements of this foreign world they've apparently never been to, and even knew exactly how to do so from the very beginning. Even has a line telling Paimon that they know why and how that is possible, but never explains it for the player. And Paimon just accepts that answer and moves on.
This entire time playing, Paimon's being has come up many times, and we always end up saying/hearing, 'Paimon is Paimon'. As if that's a good enough answer, but between the duo it apparently is. No explanation needed. And we know that the Traveler has A LOT of info they keep to themselves and don't bother sharing. Such as their knowledge of Khaenri'ah and actually being around when it got destroyed. This could just be another thing they keep inside.
I think Albedo was the closest out of all who question Paimon's existence. She isn't exactly an external organ of the Traveler's, but I think she's like... a Tulpa. I think the Traveler manifested Paimon through sheer desperation of not knowing what to do and where to go, and the Ley Lines responded by gathering all the necessary memories and knowledge they could as quickly as possible and gave it a form that the Traveler would instinctively trust. The Traveler is great with kids after all.
Paimon has never said anything about where she came from prior to meeting the Traveler. Even during deeply personal moments. At most, we know she was suddenly drowning and then the Traveler fished her out. But how was she drowning right where the Traveler was fishing, and the Traveler never saw her approach?
We do know that The Withering barely affected Paimon at all, much like the Traveler. When the Traveler gained the ability to manipulate Dendro they got additional abilities, and Paimon somehow also gained the heightened sensitivity to the Dendro Element. Enough for the 168-Day Samsara to finally wear off enough for not just the Traveler, but Paimon as well, to awaken from the cycle and break free of it. Nahida personally notes both of them were given the Blessing of Dendro. Finally, when the Traveler gained the ability to manipulate the Hydro Element, Paimon also gained the ability to breathe/speak underwater and swim infinitely in Fontaine despite how she supposedly cannot swim.
Both the Traveler and Paimon were easily knocked out by that odd pulse thing Dottore used. And it supposedly cannot be used on gods like Nahida, so Paimon and the Traveler aren't gods or beings with experience on how to protect themselves from such an attack. (This does not rule out the Traveler being some other kind of immortal being though.)
This makes it clear that Paimon benefits directly when the Traveler's powers improve/increase/strengthen. She gets a 'special sensitive constitution' simply because the Traveler does. The Traveler touched the Dendro Statue of the Seven, but somehow Paimon also received a Blessing? The same with the Hydro Statue of the Seven?
And many times over the course of the story, the Traveler and Paimon have had entirely silent conversations with each other in completely voice quests. Where they step back and simply stare at each other. Thoughts are written in (parenthesis) in Genshin, and many times have they communicated full sentences this way while others around them talk out loud. Maybe it's just a joke to show how well they know each other that they can have silent conversations with ease, but we simply cannot rule out the possibility that they might be mentally linked in some way. When they want to be.
Let's not forget how Paimon is often the voice of everything. And she is rarely in opposition to what the Traveler wants, believes, or thinks. In fact, Lyney at the end of Fontaine's AQ Act 2 might be the first time in the game where Paimon and the Traveler had drastically different opinions. Paimon wanted to stay and talk with Lyney and Lynette and the Traveler just walked off without looking back because they were angry. And even Paimon was shocked by that response.
It's just so weird how they gave the Traveler such an in-depth character but hide it all in their character voice lines(WITH Paimon btw). What would be the point of keeping the Traveler silent most of the time? Unless there is a reason Paimon HAS to be the voice. Cuz the Traveler is no Self Insert. With how this fandom whines about their reactions to things and responses, no one here is putting themselves in the Traveler's shoes.
So, Paimon is very closely connected to the Traveler, and panics when they separate for too long. She's been traumatized several times now by separation. She needs to speak for the Traveler. She exists to be the Guide for the Traveler. She can't imagine her life being any other way. It feels more like the Ley Lines just responded to the Traveler's intense emotions upon waking up and sent something along to answer those emotions. Like an imaginary friend, but more concrete in existence. And that needed their protection to make up for their loneliness.
Mind you, it's JUST A THEORY.
A GAME THEORY!!!
XD

EDIT, added November 3rd 2023, as of the 4.2 Live Stream: TULPAS EXIST IN GENSHIN!

So, this gives my theory a lot more ground to stand on, just saying! :D

‘Eternity with you becomes enjoyable’
Tumblr media
AUs: sentient Genshin SAGAU, religion-having beloved isekaied Teyvat god!Reader
Pronouns: gender neutral, ‘you’ used throughout everything.
Cw/Tw: none, mentions of starts and ends of life cycles
Genre: fluffy
Characters: all Archons, npc kid, npc Teyvatians
You never age.
It’s been millennia since you landed in Teyvat. You’ve grown your following; you’ve given life, you’ve taken lives. Your companions have changed, aged, and your handmaidens have been passing their mantle unto their heirs.
Yet you look the same as you’ve first arrived, aside from the slight weariness and matured composure. The firm, clear light in your eyes stayed the same; your skin untouched by Teyvat’s time; your strength undiminished.
And when Ami, the Child of Fruits asked you for the first time, you couldn’t bear to explain to her bright curious eyes — that you’ll witness their black hair turn into white, then into dust; infinitely until you erode into nothingness.
Maybe you try to keep your distance. Maybe you try keeping your hopes up and enjoying lives as it comes. Eventually, you’ll come to take solace in the feeling that;
The spirits of Teyvat and the wishes of its people will always shine through;
like the Naganohara’s shimmering summer fireworks;
Joyous, eternal in its glory, extending warmth far past lifespans.
And as long as Baal lives, her offer stands. You’re much welcomed to nestle yourself on her, hands held and heads buried in each other’s necks, hair braided gently like in the Tsaritsa’s rare sleepovers.
Eternity is bearable through the warmth of companionship — you continue to treasure time spent in Morax’s cosy osmanthus drinks, Barbatos’s sweet apple-scented songs, flower-tending chats with Buer, lazy debates with Focalor, and Murata’s laughter-filled sparring.

Note
There's this SAGAU plot simmering in my head recently.
You're a passenger on the Astral Express and during an expedition towards another world, the train encounters an energy bubble and it slams into it, full force. The strange energy sends a shockwave through the carriages, knocking you out.
The moment you wake up, you are in a different world. The grass, dew, and wind feel fresh but the stars look strange. They look... Artificial. Like it is computer generated to flicker and move like the stars but they feel too systematic.
You travel through this strange land, Teyvat as you've learned by eavesdropping from the locals. You've taken to dressing more similarly to the locals by using cloaks and jackets you've found to hide your clothes to avoid attracting attention. What you've noted is that this is the universe of Genshin Impact, a world you've admired from afar and its people you've cheered on from light-years away.
New knowledge comes to you that was unavailable through the computers that this world had a singular leader. It was strange. From the database, it said that the nations were ruled by their archons but nothing was mentioned about a ruling one above archons like the Raiden Ei, Rex Lapis, Barbatos, Buer, and Focalors.
So imagine your surprise when that leader had declared to seize anybody that wasn't from this world. What about the Traveller? Where are they? Were they on to you? What was going on?
You don't have time to ponder as you run away from governing bodies like the Favonious knights, the Millelith, the Shogunate, and the Fatui trying to capture you once they caught sight of your cellphone. You dodged arrows, took slices from claymores and swords, endured elemental damage from catalysts, and parried spears. You've lost faith in most of the people. Except for one.
With limited stamina, you can only run for so long until you were presented to the council of archons and their leader on the throne. On your knees, arms chained behind you and as well as your ankles. Your head is pressed into the floor in such a humiliating position, held by the foot of a soldier who's taking such an ego lift by grinding your head down into the rough concrete by just subtly pressing a bit harder and moving his foot around.
You held no emotions in your face. You've lost faith in anybody from Teyvat. Lost faith that they would save you. You try to lose that one last bit of faith in that one person. The last person who you believe in. After all. They're standing right there. It must've been so obvious to the leader. With a sick grin, the leader orders your most favored to behead you.
It's like your heart stopped. You glanced up at them, a tiny hope of leaping into your throat. Your blood rushed. Your mind was blank but all that stayed was the hope that they'd take you to safety.
With each move of theirs, you wait a second more. Faith just hangs in there, so steadily balanced by a string. Not rising or dropping but so delicately hanging in the balance of whether you'd be saved or you'd be killed by the one person you had faith in.
They step forward. Your eyes focus on their feet. The rush of blood in your ears drowning out the hopeful anticipation.
They stop and stand next to your kneeling position. The soldiers lift your head up and hold you by the shoulders, baring the back of your neck. You stop breathing. A voice whispers to you that they won't save you but you hold out hope.
The blade is unsheathed by their hand. Sweat begins to drop down your forehead and onto the concrete. Your hands begin to shake.
You feel the cold blade against the back of your neck. You feel your heart drop into your stomach.
Shaking, your eyes glance up at their face. All color drains from you. They're... Sneering at you. In contempt.
The blade rises. You hear them wish for a painful death. Your eyes drop to the floor.
Tears bubble and drop on to the concrete, creating pools of your tears.
As you hear the whine of the wind created by the blade cutting through it, you lose faith in all of the people of Teyvat. Your eyes drain of life as you accept your faith.
The blade nicks the back of your neck as your phone rings. A sonic boom shakes the room and your body warps through space, sending you back to the carriage.
Your phone continues to ring, and your most favored glances at the screen. It's perplexing how technology far above Khaenri'ah existed. Even more so when the ringing stops and the lock screen flashes for a few seconds before the screen dies.
It was a picture of you on the astral express.
Suppressed memories start to flood the people of Teyvat. Beyond the archons, there was one that led the people towards the path of safety. The guiding light is what they called you. You bestowed people of artifacts, weapons, strength, and knowledge. Though they've never heard your voice or saw your image, what they did know is your presence gave them strength, relieved their pain, and provided them with faith.
As your body warped through time, the path between your world and theirs began to close. They feel the strength they've been bestowed with by you weaken. Their weapons became equal to those of dull swords. The artifacts withered away, disappearing and floating away as star fragments. Some didn't feel as affected as you'd only started to bestow them with blessings but those who were so clearly favored by you felt the most pain of losing the strength you've bestowed them with.
You were the one that gave them the strength to stand out beyond the crowd. The one to guide them out of darkness and temptations. The one to heal their wounds.
And yet they were the ones to hold their blades against you.
As their despair consumed them as the connection between the guiding light and their world was cut, your mind sealed your consciousness away to protect yourself from the shock of the betrayals.
You were found to be slumbering inside a carriage of the train. Unable to be woken up.
To preserve your body as they waited for you to wake up from this self imposed sealing, you were kept inside a med pod, in cryogenic suspension to prevent your body from dying.
The crew were worried about you. What had happened between the milliseconds of the energy warp when you were separated from them? Your body was full of bruises and cuts. It was like you had endured months of survival within a span of milliseconds.
While you were cryopreserved as your mind protected your consciousness from breaking due to the stress of the betrayals, the world of Genshin did not return to normality.
Due to the loss of power of leading figures and the widespread rumor that they'd destroyed the connection between the guiding light and their world, people were rioting and attacking the soldiers in an attempt to gain information. The leader was decapitated for treason and playing an active role in severing the connection between the guiding light and their world.
But nothing like this mattered to your most favored.
They lay at the feet of a marble statue carved in your image. They had it carved after you had disappeared. A kind smile carved into your expression as if your eyes were sparkling with joy.
They bury their head into the side of your legs, their arms wrapped around your legs in reverence and desperation for forgiveness. Guilt clawing through the back of their head as they remembered the moment the light in your eyes faded as you accepted your faith of being killed by their bare hands.
Their voice hoarse after days of nonstop prayers to you in hopes of forgiveness. But this was nothing compared to what you had to endure from them and their people.
Nothing could compare to the moment all life faded from your eyes as you realized your most favored betrayed you.
No tears could escape from their bloodshot eyes.
This was their self imposed punishment. To lay at the feet of your statue and to beg for forgiveness. Never leaving for food, water, or sleep. It was a faith written with death.
But no matter how long they wait. How long they punish themselves. Their prayers will fall on deaf ears as your consciousness is sealed away.

So yuh, this is me, i haven't played honkai impact or starrails yet so idk if the plot is holding but yeah, it's something I've been thinking about that the only way to depart from a world you do not belong in without the astral express is to sever any connection to anybody or anything from that world.
I feel like the angst is not angsting as hard as usual because I have a hard time making characters talk in a canonical way while also keeping the position of the most favored as fillable as possible with any character.
Forgib me ಥ‿ಥ

THIS IS SO PAINFULLY GOOD IM GOING TO HAVE A WKEKEWJSJD??
Tumblr media
How do you always write so well im in awe of you every time i read anything written by you i can feel the air going crisp and all my organs are back to top shape i am in love with your writing ddkdjddn
But this is so much pain 💔 that bit of hope that had remained until the very last moments im about to cryyyyy
I have the weirdest relationship with honkai 😭 i don't enjoy the storyline no matter 6 times i tried to like the writing but I really love the characters and the combat system so i just keep deleting and redownloading the game 💀 starrail isn't out yet but I'm not a fan of turn based games so who know lolll
I know what I say really may not help you feel better but I want you to at least know that ai understand how you feel ❤️ sometimes writing character lines really becomes difficult when you're juggling canon and the plot 😭 but just know im wishing you much inspiration and well wishes because even without dialogue this was a fantastic read <33

English localization of Zhongli’s and Nahida’s Archon titles, Genshin Impact Character Title Localization in General, and Zhongli’s title of Yanwang Dijun
I was reading the wiki page for the current Archons (and their names & titles) and the more I think about their titles the more I feel the English localization of Zhongli’s title is strange.
Here (just the ones from the five released regions):
.
Venti/Barbatos, Lord Barbatos, God of Freedom, Anemo Archon, of Mondstadt
Zhongli/Morax, Rex Lapis, God of Contracts, Geo Archon, of Liyue
Raiden Ei/Beelzebul, Raiden Shogun, God of Eternity, Electro Archon, of Inazuma
Nahida/Buer, Lesser Lord Kusanali, God of Wisdom, Dendro Archon, of Sumeru
Furina/Focalors, Lady Furina, God of Justice, Hydro Archon, of Fontaine
.
….face in hands. Why is Zhongli’s Archon title 岩王帝君 (Yanwang Dijun / Yan3wang3 Di4jun1) officially localized in Latin (with the meaning of King of Stone). Of course I’m used to seeing it because he’s consistently referred to as Rex Lapis in English, but if you really think about it:
“Hello, I’m a god in what’s basically a Chinese xianxia setting. I’m the god of stone and contracts, and I know a lot about the traditions of my nation, which is based on Chinese culture. For some time, I was seen as the leader or even emperor of my nation. I’m worshipped with a Latin title by my own people”
(I’ll explain the Chinese title’s meaning further below.)
-
Some time ago, I watched the first few minutes of the Sumeru Archon Quest in Japanese. Paimon mentions the Dendro Archon by title: クラクサナリデビ.
In romaji, this is Kura Kusanari Debi. (According to her wiki page, literally speaking, this title means Little Kusanali Devi.)
I can’t confirm its accuracy, but the etymology section of her page says this:
.
The name Kusanali likely refers to the Kusanāḷi-Jātaka, one of the poems within the Jātaka, a series of 547 Buddhist poems detailing the previous births of Buddha. The Kusanāḷi-Jātaka specifically details the encounter with a tree sprite.
"Kusanāḷi" itself is derived from the Pali words kusa ("kusa-grass," a sacred plant used in Hindu ceremonies) and nāḷi ("a hollow stalk or tube").
.
and
.
In Korean, the name is 쿠사나리 데비 Kusanari Debi. The word 데비 Debi derived from the Sanskrit or Pali word devī ("goddess" or "queen").
In Japanese, the name is クラクサナリデビ Kura Kusanari Debi, where デビ Debi may be of the same derivation as above, and クラ Kura may be derived from the Pali word khudda ("small", "inferior" or "low"). Kura may also be derived from the Persian word خدا Khuda ("Lord" or "God").
.
Genshin Impact doesn’t have Sanskrit as an available subtitle language but I wonder what would her title be in Sanskrit…? And if any of the official subtitle languages are similar to a theoretical Sanskrit title…
-
Oh, also, a note on character titles in Genshin Impact:
Since the original language is in Chinese, it seems most of the time a (non-Liyue) character’s Chinese title will not be a phonetic transcription. Instead, the Chinese title will be based on meaning, and the English localization will likely take that meaning and either localize it into English, or into the language “native” to the in-game region (and real-life culture).
For example, a Fontainian title, a Mondstadtian title, and a Liyue title would all have Chinese meaning in the Chinese version, but they’ll probably be localized into either English for all three, or French, German, and Chinese pinyin respectively (….or Latin. It’s not very consistent in Liyue) in the English version.
Here:
.
Lyney’s Chinese title (from his key visual) 惑光幻戏 (Magic of Puzzling Lights) is localized as “Spectacle of Phantasmagoria” in the English version, but theoretically they could also localize it into French as “Spectacle de fantasmagorie” (as it is in the official French version)
Albedo’s Chinese title 白垩之子 (Son of Chalk) is localized as the German “Kreideprinz” (Chalk Prince) but theoretically they could also could localize it into English as “Chalk Prince”
.
(What’s a good example for a Liyue character that doesn’t need extensive explanation on Daoism… Ah whatever. I’ll explain Zhongli’s own Archon title.)
.
Zhongli’s title as an Archon is 岩王帝君 (Yanwang Dijun, roughly meaning God of King of Stone). The first two hanzi characters mean stone and king (hence the English localization of Rex Lapis, Latin for King of Stone). But that lacks the nuance and cultural significance in the Chinese title.
.
帝君 (dijun) is (I believe…) a Daoist title of reverence added to a god’s name. So putting it together, 岩王帝君 can either be localized into pinyin as Yanwang Dijun (in a similar way that MDZS’s 夷陵老祖 Yiling Laozu is known as the Yiling Patriarch)… Or Lord Stone King if you really want but that has different religious connotations…
帝君 is similar to 真君 (zhenjun, another Daoist title for gods) which is often used for the Liyue 仙 (xian, localized as Adepti) characters. (In English, an adept, plural form adepts, refers to someone who’s very skilled at something. It seems in the game 仙 includes both Adepti with animal forms and Adepti with human forms, and 仙人 xianren specifically refers to Adepti who appear human, like Xiao.)

Genshin Impact Thoughts/Theories No One Asked For, Part 2 (Spoilers)
The Genshin brainrot is particularly stubborn this time around, even with last night's post. So, here is even more inane rambling, courtesy of my garbage brain:
I don't think Kaeya expected Diluc to fly off the fucking rails like he did when he told him the truth about his origins—in fact, I think Kaeya trusted in their relationship so emphatically, he never imagined a single scenario where Diluc would have lost his temper to such an extent, that he would raise arms against him
Tumblr media
Throughout Mondstadt's history, there have been numerous people of interest who have struggled for freedom and liberation. Among them: Venessa, the Falcon of the West, and the Red-Haired Warrior mentioned in the tale about Decarabian's fall. I theorize that Diluc and the rest of the Ragnvindr family are descendants of either Venessa or the Red-Haired Warrior
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like to believe that Old Hu and Zhongli were once close friends. And, at some point, Old Hu asked Zhongli to watch over Hu Tao once he passed, and that's one of the many reasons why he assumed the role as consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor
Despite his voiceline about her and their apparent differences, I like to believe Zhongli and Hu Tao enjoy each other's company—enough so, they still choose to spend time with each other outside of Funeral Parlor-related business
Hu Tao totally knows Zhongli's true identity
Tumblr media
I care more about Paimon than the Abyss Twin. So, if the "Paimon is the Unknown God" theory comes true, just know—I'm throwing myself into traffic. Controversial, I know
Tumblr media
Speaking of the "Paimon is the Unknown God" theory, I'd like to express a take on it that I personally haven't seen across the internet. It did, however, come to my attention via my best friend. She proposed that Paimon is a fragment of the Unknown God. As in, Paimon is a small percentage of the Unknown God's power and/or personality. Which, to some extent, might explain the similarities in their designs. In particular, the star-shaped hairclip Paimon wears—which resembles the star-shaped portals seen in the opening cutscene of the game
Tumblr media
Since 4.0 dropped, I often find myself wondering: what was Focalors/Furina before she became the Hydro Archon?
After all, the other Archons we have met so far have all had some kind of association with their respective element before they ascended.
Barbatos was a wind spirit
Morax was described as the "Lord of Geo" long before he became the Geo Archon
Baal and Beelzebul are described as "personifications of lightning"
Buer was born from Irminsul
So, it stands to reason that Focalors was also something non-human before she was initiated. But, what? Right now, we know nothing. In fact, at this point in time, we know more about Neuvilette than Focalors. As has been the theme throughout Fontaine, we have more questions than answers.
With that being said, I have two (inane) theories about what Focalors was prior to her ascension:
Firstly, I think it's possible that Focalors was born from the Primordial Sea. As in, she is a humanoid manifestation of the Sea itself. Possibly even created by Egeria, the previous Hydro Archon, in an attempt to create a being capable of preventing the Fontaine Prophecy.
Secondly, and here's where I really lose it, it might be possible that Focalors is somehow connected to the previous Hydro Dragon Sovereign. In particulsr, a humanoid manifestation of it's tears. I mean, I have no solid or even debatable evidence of this—except for Neuvillette. Maybe. In his Story Quest, we learn that he and the Melusines arrived in Fontaine sometime after the Cataclysm (and Egeria's death). This means he has served as Chief Justice under Focalors and Focalors alone. To me, the timing is interesting. What could have possibly compelled him to serve under an Archon? Let alone an Archon with some distinct, err, character flaws. Especially, since, it's implied that Neuvillette wishes to hold both the Archons and Celestia accountable for overthrowing the Dragon Sovereigns. Maybe the reason he puts up with her antics is because she's the only connection he has to his predecessor

Genshin impact hcs for every nation pt.4
Tumblr media
Sumeru edition!
Info: OOC? Mentions of other characters, writing sucks, sorry if I get some lore wrong with some characters! Fyi, none of this is cannon besides the occasional lore mentions (also I was a bit lazy near the end)
Tumblr media
Alhaitham: Alhaitham is surprisingly good at color theory, despite not using it often. How did he learn about it? No one knows
Kandace: Kandace always insists that you should keep your weapons in top shape so they don't stay dirty or break, that being said. Kandace will go out of her way for hours, just polishing/cleaning every single weapon she owns
Collei: Whenever Collei's Eleazar gets out of control, she'll have to use crutches for the time being, of course only if she's slightly stable. If it was any less, then she would immediately be put on bed rest. Collei also decorated it with stickers and bracelets to make her feel a bit better
Cyno: Since Cyno has white hair, one time when Tighnari was getting really fed up with his jokes, he emptied out his shampoo and instead put in black hair dye. For about a couple of weeks, Cyno had a weird black mop on his head that looked like roots
Deyha: On a rare occasion, when someone underestimates Dehya, she'll immediately pretend to be bad at something. When she's finished, she'll point out a flaw she made before going wild and showing off her skills
Dori: Dori used to have extremely bad handwriting, but when she started becoming a more popular merchant. She upped her game and practiced with her handwriting for days until she was proud of the result. She's even dived into calligraphy
Faruzan: Whenever Faruzan has time to herself, she absolutely loves learning about fossils and what animals or creatures used to walk on Tevyat grounds
Kaveh: Kaveh has a very long skincare route and will feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day if he wasn't able to do it in time
Layla: Surprisingly, Layla is secretly really good at ballroom dancing, but not tangoing
Nahida: Nahida has a very soft and unique singing voice, and during the time period when Wanderer was healing, she would use her voice for lullabies to lull him to sleep. Most of the time, she would sing to him when he was asleep, having a nightmare, but it would quickly turn into a dream when he heard Buer's voice
Nilou: Nilou is secretly really good at theater, but since she's put up a more confident persona when dancing, she gets really nervous and shy whenever she has to play pretend since she's not as confident
Tighnari: When Tighnari was growing up, he absolutely loved making fairy houses, and as he grew up, he got better and better at making them! He's even now taught Collei how to make some
Wanderer: Wanderer absolutely sucks at cutting hair, but since he's so used to his usual bowlcut, he's much faster at cutting his own hair

Mourning them
A Genshin Impact fanfiction.
Do not proceed any further if you dislike angst linked to one-sided love and major character death : mind the tags.
CW : major character death, angst for all ships mentioned, one-sided ZhongChi/TartaLi, ChiLumi, platonic ZhongVen, platonic VenLumi or one-sided VenLumi.
How long had it been, already? Perhaps a thousand of years? He had lost count of the time.
It had been so long since the cryo archon, the Tsaritsa, ruler of Snezhnaya had launched her attack against the Heavenly Principles. Against Celestia.
So many years had passed... since he died. Since she also died.
The earlier was a one-sided love.
The latter was a good friend as well as a hero loved by all.
Those were the thoughts circling in his mind as he made his way to her tomb. To pay her a visit.
Looking back on those shared moments with them, he closed his eyes and remembered a fond memory.
There he was, sitting at a table, an exquisite cup of tea in his hand, his eyes lingering on the ocean as the people of Liyue made their way through the harbor, on their way back to work, or off to lunch, sometimes stealing mixed glances, all in his direction.
His eyes thus following the looks, the corners of his mouth curled up in an amused smile.
"Ugh- Childe! Quit it already! Give it back! This is not funny!" The traveler wanted her voice to sound firm, but the genuine fun she was having translated in her voice, betraying her.
What was assumingly supposed to be a glare from her was directed to a copper-haired young man, a pair of light blue haired feathers jokingly adorning his hair instead of hers, as it usually would. He was tauntingly holding a most elegant rapier, seemingly fontainian, way up above her head.
"Would you just look at that! Now that's a gorgeous weapon you've got here, comrade! Don't you think so, mister Zhongli?"
This name's bearer let out a laugh before giving his answer:
"Hah, yes, most refined indeed. Despite Fontaine being a nation mostly known for its mechanics, its people's skills when it comes to weapons craftmanship knows no need to envy Inazuma's reputation in this domain..."
Despite Paimon and the two youth giving him frequent looks, proving their want to listen to the cultured man and respect his speech, the fact that the harbinger was still toying around with the blonde woman, holding her rapier above his head, basically making her dance around him, also counted as an evidence that his question was partly rhetorical.
Seeing them get along like this made him smile. But the attention that he was giving her... was hurting him. Deep down. He just wasn't aware of it yet.
Two years later, Lumine finally sided with the Fatui, after learning everything she needed to know about this world. According to her, it needed to be built anew. When Childe broke the news to him, claiming that they had yet another powerful card up their sleeve, his eyes were shining in a newfound light. One full of ambition. Full of determination. Full of pride. Full of hope.
Full of love.
That's when the Lord of Geo bitterly realized that his friends would probably die, that he would likely be obligated to face them in battle despite his now weakened might, that the retired archon realized his feelings for him. At long last, despite the wisdom that he had learnt to cultivate thanks to an old, already long departed friend of his.
Now in the present time, he opened back his eyes in a deep sigh, knowing that he was now at the place where the Traveler, Honorary Knight of Mondstadt, Savior of Liyue, Captain of Swordfish II, First Sage of Buer, Leader of the Revolution, Flame of the War, and Twelfth Fatui Harbinger rested.
Nonetheless, a peculiar sight presented itself to him.
Peculiar and eerie.
There she was, the beloved hero, curled up on her knees, putting a bouquet of windwheel asters on her own tomb.
After what felt like an eternity to him, he finally dared to speak:
"Lumine?"
Lumine suddenly turned her head in a surprised way.
His feet brought him closer to her, allowing him to look more carefully at her face.
Her eyes.
Her eyes were different.
Not a shade of gold.
Green.
Anemo green.
Just like the color of her front locks, tied in two braids.
He immediately understood who was sitting in front of him.
A sad smile appeared on 'her' face, causing Zhongli to lightly scoff in the same way.
"Hey there, blockhead... you know, short ginger hair is a curious look on you." Barbatos finally spoke.

Lore Rant: Ars Goetia Review and Speculation, 4.0 Edition
Yes, I know - Genshin fans and loremongers have done this a hundred times. It's everywhere on the wiki; we've been digging up info on the "demonic names" of the Archons (and non-Archon gods!) for as long as Genshin has been out. But I want to make a post about it, damn it, and so I will. Hopefully it'll make a nice point of reference that's easier to examine as a whole document than hopping around from wiki page to wiki page.
I also want to include a little speculation and some miscellaneous info I gleaned from looking at a facsimile of the actual Ars Goetia (second edition, ed. Aleister Crowley, you prick) I happened to find at work. It's a small book but the sucker is dense. Even so, i came across a couple things I found interesting enough to share.
I. Goetic Demons Referenced in Genshin(as of 4.0)
Baal/Bael (Makoto & Ei) - King : "rules over the East," can provide the sorcerer invoking them with invisibility. (It should be noted that although the only "true" Baal in Genshin is Makoto, Ei is also referred to as Baal. Beelzebul [Ei's true demonic name] is not spoken of directly in the Ars Goetia, as the name is synonymous with Baal [Ba'al-zebul, NOT Beelzebub] - who, other than being mentioned briefly as a ruler over demons in the Bible, has basically nothing attributed to him.)
Amon/Amun (Deshret) - Marquis : depicted as a fire-breathing wolf with a serpent's tail; knows all things past and future. (this gets repeated a LOT, and with very specific figures.)
Barbatos (Venti) - Duke : associated with Sagittarius (the archer constellation) ; can talk to animals ; can talk to animals ; knows all things past and future. (Though it may be coincidental, an illustration in the copy of the Goetia I was reading from had Barbatos depicted as an elf-eared man surrounded by horns playing music.)
Paimon (...Paimon) - King : "very obedient unto Lucifer" ; supposed to have a "great roaring voice" that makes it impossible to understand him upon first summoning (lmao) ; not only knows of all things past and future but also knows about the World/Earth and how it "floats upon the Seas" ; associated with the West. (will discuss this later in the post.)
Buer (Nahida) - President : associated with Sagittarius (less meaningful than Barbatos, but maybe there's something there) ; teaches Philosophy and Logic ; knows the "virtues" of herbs and plants and can heal all diseases
Morax (Zhongli) - Earl AND President : depicted as a bull with a man's face (may be referenced in Venti's voice lines, as he calls him a "stubborn blockhead" in CN) ; knows Astronomy, "Liberal Sciences," and the virtues of all herbs and stones (referenced heavily in the Liyue Archon Quest)
Naberius - Marquis : depicted as a black bird or crane ; knowledgable in art and rhetoric. (We know basically nothing about Naberius, except that Gold and Albedo [in his character story] found an artifact called the Heart of Naberius in a dungeon, and that after finding it, Albedo was entrusted with "finding the truth of the world." We can't automatically conclude that Naberius was a dragon based solely on its depiction in the Goetia, as it seems HYV picked and chose which depictions they wanted to reference - but I don't think it would be a stretch if it was.)
Astaroth (Istaroth) - Duke : depicted as an angel riding a dragon, carrying a viper in one hand (sick.) ; knows all things past and future ; has knowledge of "why the Spirits fell."
Marchosias (Guoba!) - Marquis : has a similar description to Amun (wolf with serpent's tail) ; likewise breathes fire. (While Guoba isn't extremely important to the overall story in Teyvat, I find it's worth mentioning him because he was technically the first mention of a god losing its memories and shrinking into a smaller form after expending a great deal of elemental energy - which is exactly what happened to Nahida and, I strongly believe, other godscoughPaimoncough.)
Focalor (Furina) - Duke : depicted as a man with gryphon's wings (there are a LOT of gryphon statues in Fontaine!) ; capable of drowning men and overturning war ships ; controls the seas
Haagenti (Guizhong) - President : teaches men how to transmute all metals into gold (Because I can't leave well enough alone, I definitely think there's an implication here about Guizhong being the one who actually brought gold/Mora to Liyue. The Zhongli of the past was better known for his martial prowess than his intelligence - which I find hilarious considering the Zhongli we know now - and so I suspect his current role as God of Commerce came from things she taught him.)
Orobas (Orobashi) - Prince : can discover all things past and future (note: written in a more passive way than other "knowledge of all things" demons; as though he takes a passive role and gives the ability to the summoner, rather than just telling them) ; gives true answers about the creation of the world. (I like to take this description from the Goetia as a sign that everything Orobashi learned from Before Sun and Moon was true and accurate - why else would Celestia try so hard to silence him?)
Ose (Oz???) - President : can convince a target (specified by the summoner) that they're something they're not. (Oz often gets mentioned in this line-up because he's listed right before a demon named Amy (Fischl) - who doesn't really do anything special that other demons can't already do. I used to think this was coincidental but ultimately pointless speculation, since...well, Fischl's a human, right? But there has to be a reason why Oz exists, and an answer to where he came from. I'll be mentioning it in a future discussion. :9)
Andras (Andrius) - Marquis : depicted as riding a black wolf ; aggro as heck and will kill you if you're not paying attention to what you're doing. (Might be a reference to his role as a boss.)
Haures/Havres (Havria) - Duke : like Orobas, has knowledge of all things and will give answers about the creation of the world ; notably, will lie if not bound correctly. (Very little is written about Havres otherwise; the lying part of the description may be a reference to how Havria's story was altered in Liyue as time passed.)
Decarabia (n) - Duke : takes the form of a pentacle ; knows virtue of all stones and all birds. (I went through Decarabian's wiki page a couple times and I can't find a direct reference to birds anywhere. What I can offer in terms of speculation is that they may have used this as a reference to how he essentially made Old Mondstadt into a cage [with his people trapped as birds might be], or how Dvalin [who inhabits Decarabian's tower after his fall] has birdlike plumage. Avian symbols are all over in Genshin, but I don't know if they have much to do with Decarabia in general.)
II. Miscellaneous Notes & Speculations
According to the Goetia (and corroborated by me, just now, on the internet), the word "demon" is derived from Proto-European daimon which means something akin to "divider" (of fates/destinies). Plato (hi) later claimed that his term daemon as meaning something closer to "knowing." For ancient Greeks, daemons weren't actual beings so much as intermediary forces somewhere between mortal and divine - at least, not until the Hellenistic Age, when Greek culture got thrown in with Egyptian and Persian/West Asian influences and mixed like a bag of Shake 'Em Up Fries, and daemons became something more akin to djinn.
Eleazar (Hebrew priest) is mentioned in the Goetia as a 1st-century "contemporary" of King Solomon, who allegedly used a ring to expel a demon out of some guy's nose, in front of eyewitnesses. I found it extremely interesting that this is where Eleazar gets its namesake, since it has more in common with a demonic possession (something something evil illness) than said possession's exorcism. I had a pet theory a long time ago that Eleazar manifested the way it does (black scales) because it's slowly turning those experiencing it into dragons, like a form of devolution? While I never really got confirmation for this, we should consider that Forbidden Knowledge was brought and filtered into Teyvat by the Dragon Sovereigns, where it mixed with their anger and desire to be rid of the Primordial One's influence. Since humans are a product of said influence, the name Eleazar makes a little more sense: it's the will of the dragons attempting to "exorcise" the energies that they deemed evil.
Aleister Crowley's versions of Goetic rituals (unclear whether it's like this in other versions, as, again, it's really hard to parse which parts of the Key of Solomon are legit, and which he made up) assigns Osiris (or possibly Horus?) as the "creator god." The declaration that his creator god is an "invisible god who dwells in the void" suggests more of the former (Osiris being the god of the underworld), while Horus's association with the dawn/morning star is more reminiscent of Lucifer.
There are supposed to be four demon kings which govern the cardinal directions. Nobody seems to be able to agree who they are, but Paimon is mentioned pretty regularly as the king who governs the West. While this is pure speculation, I believe this may act to further associate Paimon with the Seelie, as the old Seelie Kingdom is supposed to be a barren wasteland, and the most barren wasteland we know of (the Mare Jivari) is supposed to be the furthest point opposite Mondstadt (i.e. to the West).
King Solomon was known for trapping the demons he summoned into a brass vessel. This is openly acknowledged in the Goetia as being similar to how the djinn of Arabian myth was captured in a bottle. Brass is regularly mentioned in Sumeru in reference to Jinn, Shiruyeh and Brass Mask Uprising.
The second half of the Goetia is written in Enochian with English translation, but is essentially the same as the rituals portion of the first half. Worth mentioning that the Abyss mages may or may not speak Enochian, although most translations of said Enochian come up as gibberish.
I ignored most of the spells/rituals in the book, but I did come across one that felt EXTREMELY relevant: the "Curse Of The Spirit's Chain Against Those Who Rebel." In the event that the demon a summoner is trying to work with isn't acting in accordance to their wishes, a parchment with the demon's name is shoved into a black box and bound with iron wire. This act "sends (the demon) to the Abyss to remain unto the day of Doom in chains." So kind of like this?

I had the weirdest god damn dream and I believe part of the reason it happened was cause I read all the previous asks before so I wanna share it here for everyone.
For starters, the world has been taken over by a corrupt organisation that believes in one god and wants everyone to believe in them as well. They started taking over governments and ended up taking up the world in no time, forcing everyone to worship their god. There were three things you needed to do to worship their god: talk about the god, pray to the god and think only about the god; anyone who failed to do so would either get tortured brutally or outright killed.
Now here's where things kinda get more bizzare. Apparently, to get a hold of more people and monitor them, they decided to take over Genshin and change a lot of things in the game. First, they deleted all the regions so Teyvat was just one big continent named after one of most devout followers in the organisation. Then, they added a bunch of new world quests that talked about their god and achieving these quests wouldn't give you primogems but "good fate" that allowed you to pray for the god and get better rewards. These quests were acted our by fatui but they were portrayal are holy good people that were just trying to spread the message about their god (didn't see any harbringers and there wasn't a mention of them so maybe they don't exist here?). Lastly, all the characters had somehow become self aware and had to follow the same three rules or else they would be punished as well.
In the dream, I was fugitive who was playing this weird genshin. The fugitive didn't believe in the god but pretended to do so to save myself and my family. While playing the game, they decided to open the character menu to check my character's artifacts. When scrolling to Tighnari, he makes a comment about how ridiculous this new rules were and why anyone should follow it. The moment he says that, the screen freezes and becomes progressively more glitchy, slowly covering the whole screen until the only thing that was visible was Tighnari's shock face and his eyes slowly turning black.
"No, wait, I didn't--"
Then, the game restarts on it's own and when they open the character menu again, Tighnari's page is there but Tighnari himself is completely gone.
Afterwards, while playing as Cyno, Cyno makes a passing comment about not being able to find Tighnari and asks the player if they've seen him. They say no and Cyno is obviously disappointed but continues to do the quests together with them. Everything continues on as normal until he says something about their god had changed to another when Buer was already a good enough god for them and the entire screen freezes again. However, instead of the screen getting glitchy, the glitches appear at various parts of his body and slowly eat every part of him, forcing the player to watch as Cyno tries to fight off the mysterious glitchy sustenance until it leaves him with only his neck and his head.
He tries to scream but his vocal chords had long been eaten by the glitches. When the glitches completely swallow his body, they disappear and leave nothing on spot.
There are a few details I left out but typing this in the car is slowly making me carsick so I'll add some of em later djjxnxjx I blame all the faceless ayato and creepypasta stuff HAHHA
I read this before a quiz and it took me long to process this cuz bro. Bro, this could be a good fricking premise for a sagau fic but I already have a sagau fic running lol–
Let's give your nightmare more additional details for the hell of it:
WHY DONT WE MAKE THAT "GOD" BE THE ABYSS!TWIN :)?
You can't chose any other twin. In this example I'll have Aether as the only traveler you can pick and Lumine is the "God".
This was what the Loom of Fate operations was all about. Don't misunderstand her. She wasn't always like this. At first, her ascension to "Godhood" isn't for her own benefit.
It's yours.
That's because she couldn't take it anymore. She's finally lost it. Lumine couldn't handle the way you've been using everyone except her. Most of all: she feels insulted for your sake that no one cares enough to treat you with respect. In her twin's body, they force you to work commissions and isolate yourself on domains that barely give you proper artifacts. It fills her with rage to watch your party members fail to crit– it disgusts her.
If she could take out all these pests... All these "characters" that worship false Gods like Buer... Then maybe they'll finally recognize you as the one that should sit on the thrones of Celestia.
The first to go would be Xiao and Ganyu. Zhongli was too late to save his subjects.
Zhongli taught them to treat him with reverence. Zhongli taught them Filial piety.
He taught them to respect Rex Lapis. Of course his most loyal subjects would oppose a new ruler.
And there's nothing more painful to a loving parent than the loss of their child.
It was in their death that she realized:
"This feels... Fulfilling."
Yes. Yes, there's no need to change what has been done.
Lumine has gone through enough.
She'll be the overseer of this new world and you will be the one to serve her instead.
Perhaps you continued walking around genshin as a fugitive, thinking that these are all part of some major archon quest with a grand resolution of having Aether and Lumine confront each other head on for all the things she had done with the leylines.
That should be your next move... If you could manage to find Dainsleif.
You couldn't access any archon quests– sometimes you'd see the screen glitch and show where the next scene will take place only for it to be overtaken by messages about devoting yourself to this unnamed God.
Ha. Well. You've had your fun playing the game, right?
It's her turn to control you now.

Genshin hypothesis
I have a hypothesis at the level of delirium that BEFORE the Kaenria disaster the world did not exist. And all the evidence to the contrary -
A) the ruins of a fallen civilization millennia ago
B) plugging chrono-holes and “false history” (possibly correcting information in Irminsul)
Where did it all come from? Written by Celestia as a fantasy author - the backstory of the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All tangible long-term events here begin 500 years ago.
It is clear why Nahida and Raiden Ei entered the chat 500 years ago, but Focalors separated Furina from itself also 500 years ago and this has literally nothing to do with Kaenria.
Although it is indicated that Egergia died, like Makoto, ONLY Nahida is stated as the “youngest archon” (who is apparently no longer considered as such due to the merger with the history and memory of Rukhadevatta and the erasure in Irminsul of the difference between her and Buer).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is, Focalors MUST BE OLDER (and noticeably on the scale of human life) than Buer. But Egergia was replaced by Furina before the people, and Focalors herself did not appear to people at all and this happened 500 years ago. In other words, both Buer and Focalors should have been declared to us as the youngest.
It’s one thing when no one noticed the shift between Makoto and Ei (or pretended to), especially considering that Ei closed immediately and Makoto’s colleagues could assume that she was jammed (especially if they did not witness Makoto’s death).
Tumblr media
But Focalors took the throne from Egeria OFFICIALLY. She didn't replace her, she officially replaced her. 500 years ago.
And the question of why she was not initially presented in the same way as Nahida (aka “the youngest”) remains fucking open.
And this is not to mention the fact that we still do not know anything about the “Fokalors policy”, which the Oceanids were so angry about that they left Fontaine.
And Egergia on the frescoes looks generally the same as Focalors.
Tumblr media
Which is more like laziness in working out the backstory of the world. No one can work out absolutely everything, and it is possible that at the moment of entering new data into Irminsul, he filled in the blanks in the same way as the existing ones, simply plugging the holes.
Therefore, Egeria, with whom Focalors is not currently related in lore, is depicted as practically a copy of Focalors.
The similarity between Rukhadevatta and Buer is explained by the fact that Buer is literally the “kidney” of Rukha, but what about Egergia and Focalors?
Unplugged holes that Irminsul, not being capable of creativity, plugs with the closest available analogue is the concept that explains this point.
Tumblr media
If the author of a fantasy is free not to prescribe everything down to the smallest detail, then Irminsul is obliged, because the world must be completed. You cannot bring a personality into it without an appearance, and the closest available analogue of Egeria is Focalors, and this void was plugged by the appearance of Focalors.
Well, like, why not?
This can explain all the inconsistencies in the lore: Irminsul’s confusing data 🙃
It’s also interesting that the prophecy murals literally depict Furina, not Focalors. So it turns out that the prophecy knew everything anyway?
Then why the fuck and most importantly why 😂
