So, my new 'apartment' has no kitchen.

This is obviously not something I would have chosen, but it's what was available within a reasonable distance from work.

I've bought a steamer/rice cooker and an induction ...whatchamacallit... a plug-in stove burner basically. I need to get a table for counter space and then I'm good to go, washing dishes and stuff in the bathroom is okay.

Anyway. The point of this post is: I'm a boring cook anyway so this isn't a big deal to me. HOWEVER I do want to be *a little* less boring. One thing I realized at my last place is that ever since I moved out of my parents' house I've had a very limited spice cupboard. No wonder my meals get boring, I have like. Two possible flavors I can give them.

So I have a request: recommend me a seasoning!

#I do plan to like. Look for some recipes online. Maybe stuff I've made before where I skipped some stuff bc it wasn't worth buying to use #only one time #but I though this would be fun #there are a lot of good restaurants around here but I am not eating enough this past week only eating out #I need to be able to cook at home so I can eat dinner at 6 pm and then have the leftovers at 8 pm #Or for lunch the next day #and also I don't like many restaurant vegetables #ALTHOUGH this one lady has a stand in front of the supermarket selling fried stuff #and she will lightly fry broccoli - no breading just broccoli in oil - and then put some fantastic seasoning mix on it #and I will probably be getting that every time I get groceries

ill never get over how fucking awesome it is to be an adult. the horrors persist and life can still suck sometimes but now when i have a bad day i can get in my car and go on a drive to get myself a treat and i can buy myself fun stuff and yeah shits hard but id take this over being a kid or teenager any day every day forever.

begging people to realize that the back warehouse of a grocery store is not a second, secret grocery store that has everything you need plus some extra secret items the first grocery store does not have

#look it probably varies from store to store #but at least where i work the back is a fucking mess.#like. you're imagining neat tidy shelves and specific sections for each product #that is not what the back is. it's a disorganized hellhole with every type of product piled haphazardly on top of each other #wheelers lying around with the most random items.#you have to understand that if a grocery worker were to 'check in the back' for something #it would likely take 10ish minutes if it WAS there.#and like. stuff like produce isn't just going to be kept in boxes in the back either. or meat or seafood.#if they have sellable meat or produce they're not just going to stick it in some deep freezer in the back #and wait for it to become two days away from unsellable before they bring it out.#with those departments especially if they have something you want it is going to be on display #and if it's not they don't have it.#stuff like soda is a bit easier to find usually #but even then there's so many different brands all piled together in crates on the same wheeler #not even opened #and i hate to say it but most grocery workers honestly just have more important things to do #than go rooting around like truffle pigs in the back for the stuff you want.#they might be doing price change or they might be stocking a new product #or they might be trying to fill a central display case #or they might be filling an online shopping order and thus on a time crunch #and even if none of those are the case a grocery worker can get called away to a different task on a dime.#they can't just drop everything to hunt in the back for whatever fucking granola bars you want so bad.#absolutely we can tell you where things are #and we can recommend alternatives to out of stock items. sure. but you'll only be wasting your time and ours #if you ask us to check for something in the back.

Small Incendiary Update:

T-minus 24 hours until Chapter 10 of Incendiary drops!

I've made some dialogue edits and added additional scenes in Chapter 10 that makes this chapter bump up to 9.4k words from it's previous 8.4k, oops sorry not sorry. :) But that definitely makes this chapter tie almost neck to neck with the longest chapter in Incendiary so far, that title taken by Chapter 3 at a whopping 9.5k words!

Let this make up for the fact that I may not be releasing Chapter 11 for some time, since it's still very much in the rough draft phase of writing and I'm still writing the beginning part of it. By some time, that I'm not really sure of. It entirely depends on how soon I manage to get a new job, or not. It may be a month, it may be a few weeks. But as of right now, I'm actively writing Chapter 11 during my downtime every day!

If I have a feeling that it might take a while to release, I may drop a teaser here on tumblr for you guys to read as an early sneak peak so you aren't left completely high and dry, cause I know how that feels being a reader too. And I love all of y'all. <3 Thanks for reading this update!

Did I miss something in the fine print or did T*rget somehow prematurely cancel my yearly Sh!pt membership after I didn't auto-subscribe to Circle 360 after the free trial??? I got a post-membership survey email two days ago and when I checked the service website it said I didn't have the membership anymore. I haven't even had it for a full calendar year and it's screwing me over so bad.

I know I'm aging when I start making impassioned posts/rants about my grocery store shopping habits, but with groceries here being expensive enough as is, the last thing I want rn is for it to become segmented and complicated like how streaming services are now: where I have to buy all the parts separately instead of getting all the exact same stuff bundled together for a reasonable price.
