HEY EVERYONE! Welcome back for your weekly dose of fashion inspiration. This week we are looking at a brand you may or may not have heard of. Starting off we have a new release from Get Some Sleep. A smaller brand well known for its thought-provoking messages just released the new iteration of its series of messaged-based themes called "Love".

Recently the company has released a special event where you call their "hotline." This hotline prompts a question that asks what your interpretation of one of the companies quotes "Have you ever been in love?". Cleansing your system & getting a restful nights sleep can help YOU more than you think!
    Sometimes your body just needs a deep cleaning. Think of it as decluttering and cleaning your body as you do your home. But even if that is a matter of choice, we sometimes forget to choose to help our bodies out first. Because if you don’t put you as top priority and do what is necessary, many other aspects of your life will suffer. 
     Over time and the result of many bad habits, your system gets clogged, affecting the many processes that clean your body. Your kidneys become less efficient in purifying the blood. The ability of the liver-- the metabolism powerhouse that processes, stores, or manufactures most of the chemicals passing through your body-- to detoxify your system and produce bile to break up fats, is reduced. The digestive tract from mouth to colon, digests food and moves the unused wastes out of the body-- but the highly processed food so common in our diet today can take days to digest. And the wastes that build up in the colon need to be flushed out. A malfunctioning system reveals itself in the health and vitality of our skin, nails, hair, and breath. 
     Relying on a cleaning out your system alone might not help if you also have other habits that are harmful to your health. For instance, If you don’t get enough sleep at night. You’re not just turning yourself into a daytime zombie -- you also could be more likely to have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and depression. And it might be harder for you to learn and remember things. A big playing factor can be the habit of watching tv to sleep, or surfing the Internet before bed. The “blue light” given off by electronic gadgets like phones, computers, and TVs can mess up your sleep. And some studies show that too much of any kind of nighttime light might be linked to cancer (especially breast and prostate), diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. Calm yourself before bed. If you want to read something, open up a book. Keep your bedroom dark and quiet for better sleep. Set a regular sleep routine and stick with it. And do your best to get 7-8 hours a night, with no electronics at least an hour before bedtime. I do know how trying this can be as I am someone who suffers with either over exhaustion, or insomnia-- but you should still try to remain consistent with your sleep whenever possible.

Just wanted to share with everyone a product I recently found and have been using to get sleep cause I know there are others that struggle too. @getsomsleep works exactly as advertised. Sometimes I will lie in bed for hours because I can't shut my brain off enough to fall asleep. When I drink a cup of this before bed, I fall asleep and stay asleep all through the night! I was having trouble sleeping - would wake up at 3AM and be up for 2 hours. With this drink I can now sleep right through the night. It's finals week at the University of Chicago, where I used to work, and I am missing my students so much. It'd be the first of the nightly study breaks in my apartment. Reposted from @sunpeople_1 - “EXCESSIVE FAT ON THE BODY AGES YOU QUICKLY: ________________________________________ There are more than five ways that obesity makes you old before your time, but I’ll list just five of the more obvious ones for now. 1. Less Physical Activity – Excess weight puts greater stress on knee joints and accelerates the development of painful osteoarthritis that limits physical activity.  This results in a vicious cycle of physical decline that normally occurs in much older adults limited by osteoarthritis associated with advanced years; 2. Less Sleep – Sleep apnea is commonly associated with obesity, as are other forms of sleep deprivation. Like reduced physical activity, this feeds on itself by disturbing one’s hormonal balance that induces further over-eating and poorer sleeping patterns. This deprives the body of the essential restorative powers that sound sleeping patterns produce; 3. Increased Stress – Less sleep leaves us less capable of coping with life’s stresses. This again feeds on itself as stress-related over-eating is common. Stress itself is directly associated with virtually all disease processes, as it is inherently pro-inflammatory and lowers one’s immune resistance to disease; 4. Less Protective Omega-3 Fatty Acids – A recent studydemonstrated that even those over age 65 benefit by increasing their intake of healthful omega-3. It’s likely that most obese individuals are deficient in these omega-3 oils that were found to add 2.2 years of life to the older adults in this study – meaning they lose out on this life-extending benefit; and 5. Less Protective Vitamin D – Vitamin D at certain levels has been associated with lower risk of many diseases, including cardiovascular diseases. Not only are the diets of most obese people likely to be deficient in vitamin D, but this essential vitamin is stored in body fat. Welcome Winter Solstice
If today has perhaps not worked out the way you wanted, I have some good news: today is the shortest day of the year. Also known as winter solstice, it marks the beginning of winter but also the slow start of our days becoming longer with a little more sun each day. It is an interesting date:
* Winter solstice can occur between December 20 and 23 since it specifically marks the point when the Sun returns to the same spot relative to the Earth each year.
* The exact moment when the sun reached this spot today was 8:28 AM Pacific Time. Did you notice anything?
* Coincidentally, the Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth on this exact day 398 years ago (1620 to be exact) and the “Apollo 8” spacecraft also launched on this day 50 years ago. Happy 50th anniversary!
* Other space observations to make tonight include an (almost) full moon and the Ursid meteor shower (which started a few days ago but will peak this weekend). The meteor shower should be visible in a clear sky and away from light pollution.
