“I never knew you wore All Might boxers to bed,” said Kirishima, grinning down at his phone.

Bakugou almost dropped the glass of water in his hand. “What did you say?”

“You look manly in those All Might boxers?”

It was a Friday night and he was out grabbing dinner with some of his friends from high school, Kirishima, who was on his fifth roll of sushi, and Ashido, who was tipsy and flirting with the tattooed bartender.

Katsuki chose his next words carefully. “And why the fuck would you think I own…All Might boxers?”

“Because Y/N-san posted a photo of you in them.”

“What?!”

Grabbing his own phone from his pocket, he opened up his social media app only to find a picture of his sleeping face in front of him.

“What the–?” he roared.

But as he swiped through the collection of photos you had posted, the complaints died in his throat.

The first photo was of a surprise selfie you took as you planted a kiss on his temple. Bakugou’s face was a mixture of bewilderment and embarrassment with the apples of his cheeks tinged a light pink.

The next was a candid Ashido took of you winning him a stuffed animal from the hanami festival. You were beaming widely as you held it out to him, and Katsuki was looking down with a proud look. He couldn’t help but smile at the memory.

Finally, there was the dreadful image Kirishima was talking about, with Bakugou sprawled out on the bed, sleeping in nothing but his underwear– His underwear that just so happened to be the All Might boxers he told you not to tell anyone about.

He narrowed his eyes. Of course.

But his disdain was rather short-lived. Because as he scrolled down to read your caption, he felt the heat from his face spread to deliver a warm feeling to his heart.

Bakugou chuckled. The two of you were sure to be trending the following day after that final statement.

He typed a reply on his phone and his whole face hurt from the workout he was putting his smile muscles through, but he didn’t mind. Just knowing you were happy put him in a better mood–even despite the uncontrollable burn in his cheeks at your unsolicited public display of affection.

In fact, Katsuki didn’t even care that you exposed him and his All Might boxers.

For you, all was forgiven.

As he grinned down at his phone, Mina and Eijirou exchanged looks from the other side of the table.

“Amazing. Even when Y/N isn’t here I can still feel the sexual tension in the air,” whispered Ashido.

Kirishima nodded. “It feels like we’re intruding on something intimate.”

“I can hear you idiots,” he mumbled in reply, still buzzing from the post. After sending you a text message, Katsuki pocketed his phone and glanced at his friends. “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting a little tired now. I’ll see you next Saturday?”

Mina smiled, giving him a wink. “Mhm. Say hi to Y/N for me.”

He tsked. “Will do.”

“And can you ask her to get me a pair of those All Might boxers, too?” said Kirishima.

“Don’t even dream of it, Shitty Hair.”

Startled by the sound of his door opening, Lana turned after making her last adjustments. She’d been hanging his birthday gift by his window, a prime spot for the breeze to stir if the latch was undone. Strung up on a homemade mobile, one she’d recruited the help of various minions to make, dangled twelve separate origami animals, each a different colour. All had a personalised message from one of Dom’s friends, if you spread the paper flat to read them.

Ducky’s said ‘cool guy :)’ and was folded into a bear. Navy white pinstripe. 

Philly’s only had a little goblin doodled on holding a fistful of socks. The paper was an expensive kind, white with mint and lilac glitter. Folded into a caterpillar. Lana liked this one because caterpillar’s have butterflies inside them and she feels the magic in Philly is sourly overlooked by the general population -- she’s the most likely person Lana knows to sprout wings and fly away.

Viktor’s was far too explicit with a recurring mention of cock. It could not be included in the gift.

Maggie’s was a wolf. Lana drew a little smiley face below the snout that wasn’t quite fitting, but it felt friendlier, that way, more Maggie -- paired with a dainty floral paper, too. It had a quote written on from Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. “She rested her head against his and felt, for the first time, what she would often feel with him: a self-affection. He made her like herself.” It finished with “love you, Maggie x”. 

Marlowe’s was a tiger. Flame orange, eye catching. On it, it said: ‘anyone who's put up with my shit for almost four years deserves a medal of some kind... like pinned to their lapel and personally engraved and everything. i got outbid on ebay so I don't have a fancy medal to give you...so instead i'll just say, you're a good guy dom evans! and I hope you have a fucking awesome birthday man. if anyone deserves only good things its you :)‘.

Rosa’s was folded into a monkey. Pink paper, in the end, because Rosa makes Lana think of love and blushing and sunsets. ‘dom i can't believe you're 23 today, you're an old man now!!! when i was just an embarrassing 12 year old and made those happy 15th bday shirts for you i was so obsessed with you because a small part of you thought you were an angel on earth and you'd come to protect me but it's nice to know now that we can protect each other. i'm still going to wear those 15th bday shirts for the rest of the week so everyone knows, i think your life is the most celebration worthy thing in existence. and if you want to know i am, in fact, hoping that i never marry so that by the time i'm 35 we can just run off together, preferably with franklin in tow, and have a worry free life, it's what you deserve. i love you forever dominic james evans!!!‘

Kasey’s was a fish in a pastel shade, sweet like a ripe peach. ‘Happy birthday Dom, you're the best of the best!!‘

Jude’s was a sloth. Deeper blue. Lana hassled him to write Dom one despite the fact they aren’t even particularly close. On it, he wrote: ‘Dunno you that well but you seem alright. Lana’s pacing as I write, clearly riled her up enough. Saw your ass in full view, high definition. Was decent. Good work soldier. Back to the trenches. Happy birth and shit.’.

Gunner’s was a dog. She did her best to capture the essence of a golden retriever with yellow paper, given that this was his family pet’s breed. Notably, she drew a very large dick onto the origami between it’s legs -- assuring Gunner Paxton’s legacy wasn’t overlooked. ‘in first year i had a hard time making friends and you saw me struggling in the caf when i sprained my wrist so you offered to help me cut up my food and i thought it was weird but it was the first time a stranger showed me care in such a specific way now i always feel cared for with you and it's nice so thanks for being you and happy bday‘.

Jack’s was a lion. Below the paper mane Lana wrote ‘NOT UGLY’ in small, block font, almost fashioned like a collar. The paper was faded black and white, referee striped -- tribute to his time coaching little league. Unfolded, it says: ‘dearest cousin Dominic, you are my favorite cousin even when you peed on me that one time at the beach because you said it would keep the jellyfish away. thank you for always throwing the football around with me and even being okay with it if i threw it too hard and it hit your nose and made it bleed and we had to tell my dad you tripped over a rock. happy birthday let’s get fucked! Will’s was a shark, folded from paper slicked to look like an oil spill, gleaming in the light -- dark and technicolour, all at once. Lana drew sunglasses over the eyes. ‘sorry i tried to dye your hair purple that one time. you're kind of great even if statistically you shouldn't be since you're an RA. that's fucking bizarre of you, by the way. you seem to be one of those people that's genuinely good which is also fucking bizarre but i figure if anyone around here deserves a good year, it's you. happy fucking birthday don't die xoxo‘

Marla’s was a pigeon. Oxblood red. She wanted a vicious city-dwelling creature that feasted on the flesh of abandoned McDonald’s fries. ‘you are more worthy than a thousand plates of ikea meatballs. you can seize life by the balls. the meatballs. extended meatball metaphor. you are a leaf floating on an amber river. you are a cherry blossom caught in a ceiling fan. if auras existed yours would be INCREDIBLY fucking sexy. you will live a long life and father approximately 333.3 children.’

Noah’s was a sky blue dog with a doodled strand of wheat from it’s mouth. ‘hey man happy birthday :) not to get all sappy but im really grateful to know you. don't know if luck is real but if it is, hope this brings you some of the best of it there is’. There was a thirteenth string without anything attached and Lana almost took it as an omen of how unlucky it was, her opening up in this way, how much she’d come to see it as a curse. But she held it in her hands, anyway. A swan as white as the Betta fish she’d pointed out as him at the aquarium. Wishing star white. Whiter than an angel. The most Dom paper she could think to fold it from, when she woke up and realised she’d been dreaming about him. 

“Hey,” she breathed with a laugh, cat burglar caught with the ruby in gloved hands. By all practical accounts, she’d broken and entered. “Charmed my way in. Wanted to, um... Was meant to be a surprise, like, an in and out job, and... I told some other RA Gunner left his inhaler here and he went all crazed, like, Action Man, whipping out a master key. Totally Oscar worthy. Should probably... let him know Gunner isn’t dead, later, but. Wanted to give you your present. It’s, um... I mean, it’s everyone,” came as she sifted gently at Philly’s caterpillar, smile bubbling to the surface. “I got them all to write you stuff. It isn’t, like, crazy, or anything, but.” Lana wet her lips, excitement overflowing -- she couldn’t seem to smother her smile. “This... is mine.” That did it. It faded as her eyes dropped. She pinched the swan delicately in both hands, then, blood rushing in her ears -- it provided amusing contrast, the coy blush in her cheeks with the devil horns she’d slid into her hair, a costume nobody had asked for. “Kinda wrote it... a while ago. It’s -- I don’t know,” she second guessed, laughing again at how dumb she was sure she sounded. Gestures like this always scared her, when she really meant them, felt like far too much. “You can read it, if you wanna.” @domfm​

Gratitude: 1. I got the summer schedule that I want!! Extra $$ is a dream! 2. My birthday is NEXT WEEK   3. I’ve been walking outside consistently!

So...this post is definitely a brain dump! Essentially, I want to talk about fear. I am feeling so much fear & I am, afraid...ugh it’s drama because I shouldn’t be operating from a place of fear! I need to have an abundance mindset! It’s just upsetting that I feel lost in the sauce, like I don’t know what to do/what to focus on.

As of late, and I think the root of my entire quarter life crisis is a fear that my time is being wasted! For example, with A! I’m pissed I’m not meeting his family/people in his life because if the relationship isn’t progressing a certain way my time may be wasted!!! Do I want to share my life with him? Do I want to marry him? I just don’t want to waste my time! 

This shit with not seeing each other has just been weird as fuck though. Not seeing each other, not really communicating, no bueno! I know I’m not initiating any more communication.....I’m just not exactly too sure about opening up my options. Opening my options would be to A-make me happy! I like dating, I like being treated a certain way. I deserve that, so if he’s not giving it I would have to get it elsewhere! B-ensure my time is not WASTED! My sis said the sad truth is I’m single until marriage & it’s true. IDK if I want to be married by 25, that could be a bit much...but I am positive that I want to be in a relationship progressing to marriage.

It’s odd how things with us were going great & we were more or less on the same page then BOOM-complete stop! So....ya if he’s not being the boyfriend I require I must look elsewhere. Maybe I wont go on apps right now, but....yeah! 

I also fear time being wasted in my job! And I hate that because similarly I’m not too sure what to expect, what I want! I guess because I’ve been talking about the PhD for FOREVER & have yet to make strides toward that. I think with the PhD I just need a timeline. Transparently, teaching AND curriculum development ARE very helpful! I think teaching experience (which I love) can help w my PhD. Developing AA history helps me continue engaging w sources & docs. I’m just so afraid of staying stagnant. This year I haven’t been stagnant. This year I have grown. I need to be sure that I continue doing that! Continue following my passions, continue progressing with that in mind.

I don’t like that I’m feeling romance anxiety. It’s hard being so afraid & I think a lot of that may be my fear of getting caught up in the type of thing I was caught up in before. And like, idk...I hear about people being in relationships for 2-3 years before being engaged.....I try not to think too much. I’m trying to think step by step. I liked the progression from dating to stating goals, to exclusivity, to relationship growth. I should trust my instincts too! Why am I not more integrated into his life? Why is it so casual for him to not see nor speak to me. RED FUCKING FLAGS. I’m not comfortable addressing them as I....don’t want to be in my masculine. All that I can do is open my own options?

If I open my options I’m praying that I don’t fall into the 80-20 trap. And when we’re together maybe I can ask for help more? Ask for what I want more...ugh. There are times when I prefer more chivalry....this is damn insane man. I just want a loving relationship with a man who loves me. I am not comfortable. UGH.

I’m freaking out about if he’ll reach out to hang out this weekend! On the one hand it’s like....Me & Jenny do have plans (stupid ass plans) & on the other hand, I for sure want to hang out! SO-maybe if he reaches out I can say I’ll come over tomorrow night? If he doesn’t reach out-I’ll be pissed as fuck like I have been, It’s hard being me because I get so emotional about hypotheticals lmao. It’s rough because I just like having plans! 

I wonder how I’ll feel. On the OFF chance he reaches out to hang out at his/my home this weekend (one day)-NO SEX If we do his house Saturday-Sunday? I have to feel the vibe out. I’m nervous because I love & miss him...but I don’t want to pretend his being MIA is okay! Maybe the first attempt I’ll express that I’ve been feeling distant lately & want to enjoy our time together. If he attempts a second time & I feel receptive to it I may go along...Communication is so hard, & I do want to prepare incase I have to initiate discussing this. It’s also a mess because I feel distant from lack of communication/seeing each other AND about not being more integrated into his life/not being too clear on the progression of our relationship. 

These hypotheticals are all hinged on whether or not he even reaches out...if he doesn’t reach out until next week (Bday get away) I’ll be pissed asf. I guess I’d have to just feel stuff out & ask his thoughts about our lack of time together when I see him bcus that’s crazy asf.

Is everything okay with his cousin? Even if not, I just feel like he’s responsible to take care of it, or communicate that. I’m nervous because part of me really doesn’t know if I’m ready for this conversation.

I guess when I say something (because I cant hide it) I’ll have to be transparent about expressing how I feel & genuinely wondering about his thoughts. That’s about has far as I’ve gotten...& thank him for sharing his thoughts...because it’s some bs.

Unfortunately, If a valid prospect presents itself I will remain open to it because I am not messing myself up with this clownery, I’m just not. This cousin shit needs to be over by my birthday and/or he should be taking me out on weekdays. I am not going to continue putting up with just never seeing each other. I’m not in the business of having myself unavailable yet being single in my own relationship. I’m not interested in doing that & I will not do that.

Action Steps:  -NO SEX for 1 day visits -MUST gather thoughts/perspective before sex on weekend visit **praying we don’t have to discuss this over my bday...it may be good to discuss in the car? Or maybe the Friday before....but I...I’ll flesh out that action plan when it gets closer.

Hey friends! Happy Thursday! Hope you’re enjoying the week. 

It’s been a fun and crazy one over here. The girls have had half-day camps, Liv auditioned for dance team, the Pilot has been flying nights, and madre’s birthday was on Tuesday! We got together for a *small* family dinner (we joke that we’re just a small party of 28), and ate Mexican food, cake, and sang “Happy Birthday” to the amazing lady who gives so much to everyone in our family.

 My fave picture from the night! 

(The cake was from Whole Foods bakery and so so good.)

Workout-wise, I’ve crushed every day this week. Sunday, we filmed Summer Shape Up videos (the party starts June 24)! Monday, I hopped on the Peloton bike for a 30-minute ride, Tuesday was barre, Wednesday was a BODYATTACK class On Demand (my link is good for 21 days FREE of the amazing Les Mills workouts), and today and tomorrow are off since I’m traveling to Chicago for a blog trip. I’m looking forward to catching up with Anne and Julie, and meeting some new blogger friends. I’ll be sure to share some of the adventures on IG stories!

I originally planned to post this one while we were on our cruise, but since internet was a bit sketchy – and I blasted through the ship’s plan in a mere 24 hours – I didn’t get the chance to get this one published. I originally saw this survey on my friend Ashley’s blog, and then Julie’s. I loved reading their answers so much, so I thought I’d join in the survey fun. 

1.  What’s the best thing that happened to you this month? Taking a Disney Cruise with the fam! 

2. What’s your favorite game? We don’t usually play board games at home, but our favorite games is a hide and seek and tag hybrid. I hide, the girls try to find me, I jump out and go “AHHH!” and they scream, I chase them around until I tag them, and then they hide. 

3. When are you most inspired? Mid-morning, usually after I’ve had breakfast and survived the school drop-off. 

4. If you could teach one subject in school what would it be? Math

5. What’s your favorite beverage? LaCroix 

6. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? A friend from the gym sent a text message while the Pilot was deployed and basically gave me a pep talk. She said she was proud of me for doing so well with work stuff and solo parenting. It was very unexpected and really made my whole month. It was a great reminder to let other people know when I’m inspired by them or think they’re crushing it. 

7. What is your favorite birthday cake? Yellow cake with chocolate buttercream

(That was my bday cake last year!)

8. What is one thing you still have from your childhood? A photo album that my mom made for me when I was 4 and we’d taken a trip to California. I was with all of my aunties, my parents were still married, and my uncle was still alive. Our dog chewed around the edges of it when I was younger, and the small plastic photo album contains quite a few happy memories from being a kid.

9. What is your favorite movie? Love, Actually

10. What is something you can’t do? Play the flute even though I faked it for an entire year in 5th grade. I could do all of the finger work, but no sound would come out. So I just pursed my lips and acted like I knew what I was doing. 

11. Window or aisle seat? Aisle so I can get up a thousand times if I feel like it. 

12. What makes you laugh no matter what? P makes the most ridiculous faces that make me laugh every day. We get a kick out of zooming in on photos that she’s in, because you never know what you’re going to get.

13. What does creativity mean to you? Free from any perceived restraints or judgments. 

14. What are your favorite lyrics of all time? “Look around, look around, how lucky we are to be alive right now.” I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of Hamilton.

23. Would you ever live anywhere besides Tucson? Yes! We’d love to make it back to San Diego one day but love being in Tucson for now.
