Season 2, Episode 8 | Ghost (1990)
If younger listeners know the 1990 film Ghost at all, it's for the famous and much-spoofed pottery wheel love scene between Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. But the movie is much more than a soapy romance. It's a strange Franken-movie that combines elements of supernatural thriller, buddy comedy (Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg make a great comedic duo), murder mystery, and metaphysical romance—and somehow works. Despite its idiosyncrasies, it was a huge hit, winning two Oscars and becoming the highest-grossing film of 1990. Gabby and Amy revisit the film and find it as unique and moving as it ever was.

Ghost (1990)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Ghost has a scene showing a few subway trains passing at high speeds, creating a moderate strobe effect. One early scene has mild spinning-style emergency vehicle lights. A bright light that shines through most of the final scene has a mild but constant flicker to it.
There are a few moments where the camera shakes to enhance the drama of the moment. One scene shows some peril at extreme heights.
Flashing Lights: 4/10. Motion Sickness: 4/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: Grief is explored thoroughly in this film, as is the exploitation of grieving people for money. Some moments depicting spirits possessing people may be upsetting for some religious viewers.
