I was tagged by @cutemercutio to list the nine books I am most excited to read soon. This made me realise most if not every book I was most excited to read I had already read several times before, so I made up my mind to put together a list of books I was excited to read that I hadn't already read. It took me a while, but it was worth it: I haven't had for a very long time such a clear idea of books I'm looking forward to read for the first time, so thank you very much for tagging me!
— Cyrano de Bergerac, Edmond Rostand
— A true novel, Minae Mizumura
— Vulgate Cycle, and Le Morte d'Arthur by Malory (I've never read them in full, they count)
— Journals and notebooks, Søren Kierkegaard
— The Odyssey, Homer (I've never fully liked any translation so I've never read it entirely either, but at this point I may just read one even if it doesn't work for me perfectly)
— Corpus Hermeticum
— C. S. Peirce. I've been meaning to read him for a long while. More than his works about language I'm interested in the mathematics and logic works, especially the ones linked to topics that align with Cantor and Dedekind. I'm not really sure where to start (maybe his work on Mathematical Philosophy? I should message my ex PhD tutor about it), but I'm really eager to read him and have been for eight years. I get all fidgety when I think about it, I don't know why I haven't read him yet.
— Dostoievsky. The idiot, The brothers Karamazov or Demons. I never can make up my mind and I'm obsessed with Crime and Punishment, so while making the choice I always end up reading that again instead, which is why I've never read any of them. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has a preference of one over the other or an order in which to read them.
— Le roman de Tristan et Iseut, Joseph Bédier
— Tristram, Edwin Arlington Robinson. I know this is the tenth book in the list, but I really want to read this and since I still can't find this text anywhere, even physical copies of the entire works of the author, its presence here is a necessary ghost
These are the books I'm most excited about, but I actually had a few more new books or authors to check out that I had to leave out! This tag was very useful. Thank you again, @cutemercutio!
I'm going to tag @sabraeal, @tybaltsjuliet, @cavarage, @ghostbrds, @princesssarisa, @whatevsbla, @eyecicles, @faintingheroine and @13eyond13. Feel free to ignore this though
