I love Theatre AUs because of the opportunity for narrative parallels and character development, as well as emotional expression through music and analyzing what song a character picks to reflect themselves through their own interpretation of who they are as a person.
Not because I just really like seeing my favourite semi-obscure shows be namedropped. Definitely not. No idea why you'd think that.
