Thailand is one of the countries that tourists truly love to visit. They have everything: mouth-watering cuisines and street foods, both traditional and modern tourist attractions, and endless shops to spend your budget on. Despite being near my own country, I often overlooked this place as one of my bucket-list destinations. Their entertainment industry, however, successfully wins my heart. Appealing from their popular Boy's Love series, I decided to visit the country not long ago, equipped with the curiosity packed in my bag.

At the very beginning, my plan was just to watch a concert of their artists. The concert was called "Love Out Loud 2024". I boarded the plane with my older sister, who is great at planning itineraries. Meanwhile, I was just helping to assure her that the traveling options were okay (you will know if you have a reliable older sibling!). In the middle of planning, we shifted our excitement from concert-goers to "We just want to travel for leisure and have fun despite the very short time there!"

We bought a transit airplane ticket through Singapore before finally flying to Thailand. During this time, we seized every opportunity we could have. In only three days and two-night trip to Bangkok, Thailand, we enjoyed the walk around Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore. It was mesmerizing to see the infamous indoor waterfall for the first time and get to grab bites of fishball noodles and coconut shakes before we boarded the airplane to Bangkok.

Suvarnabhumi Airport at night was still crowded with people. While I thought the airport was appealingly plain, the signs were clear as day. Without asking a single person there, my sister and I successfully traveled to our accommodation solely by the integrated train system which we could learn conveniently on the spot.

Shopping at Platinum Mall was a whole experience. Although many people would recommend other markets with significant price differences, this place offered convenience and complete products for tourists to buy in a comfortable place where the building is cool and organized tidyly. The best part is, that you don't have to go outside under the sun to fill your stomach. Just go upstairs, and you'll find a food court. Unless you want to enjoy various activities, you definitely must visit other places, but don't forget to have time and energy!

The main schedule was to watch the "Love Out Loud 2024" concert, in Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Tons of concerts were held in that arena, from local to global scale concerts. So, I was excited to visit the arena for the first time. Once again praising the integrated train system, we can easily go to the designated place by train. Although the area nearby was more of industrial and car-centric roads, we still could conveniently book an online taxi or ride a local motorbike taxi to reach Impact Arena, with a distance from the train station that is not more than 5 km. Unlike most concert places in my country, Indonesia, Impact Arena is surrounded by restaurants and food stalls for us to recharge energy before heading to the main hall. After the concert, the way back to the train station was a core memory. As we couldn't book the same online taxi, the local people actually made opportunities by taking us to our destinations by shuttle bus. You made phone call after phone call and nothing was working and soon you would be flat on your butt with nothing but your dream job to keep you up. But it really didn’t matter because in the end you would get everything figured out and back on your feet.

For right now you’d focus on your boss and helping him shop for his upcoming business trip. You were supposed to meet your boss Erik Stevens in the watch shop about ten minutes ago but you were a bit weighed down with all the bags you were carrying.

You stopped to rest on a bench, you had a few work calls to make anyway. A loud sigh of relief escaping your lips when the weight of the back. You were just catching your breath when you heard a chuckle come from the stand in front of you.

Erik grabbed your chin gently, his thumb forcing you to release your bottom lip. You looked up at him with your eyes wide as saucers. The grip on your phone tightened when you noticed Erik lick his lips staring down at you.

“What’s the matter?” Erik nodded towards your phone. You were a bit shook and quickly pulled yourself out of his grip and closed your phone pocketing it and smiling up at your boss.

“Nothing! Are we ready to go?”

Erik’s eyes squinted at you and nodded as he held up his packaged watches. You lead the way out of the store and towards his car. He put the bags in the trunk and you quickly hopped into the passenger seat after he opened it for you. You quietly murmured thank you and pulled out your work phone to see what was next on the agenda for the day.

Erik has a huge business deal coming up that required his travel to Singapore. Normally you’d travel with him for deals as big as this one, but this one was so important that he would be gone for about 2-3 weeks, maybe having to be back and forth a bit longer if everything went really well… or really bad. This trip required a lot of preparation on his part and yours and he left in two days, so it’s imperative that he complete his travel shopping today.

Erik climbs into the driver's seat and pulls off from the curb.

“Okay you have an appointment at Grisham Mall for those suits, then-“ Erik cut you off and held his hand out for your phone.

“Give it to me.” His voice is deep and rough. You go to hand him your work phone confusion etched on your face. “The other one.” His eyes cut towards you. “I’m not playing with you.” Your brain shorts. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, you were used to Erik’s moods and for the most part they turned you on more than anything.

“Why! It’s not that deep Erik.”

“Then give me the fucking phone so I can see what’s got you so nervous. Or you could just tell me.” Erik’s face was serious, he could always tell when you were trying to keep things from him.

You sigh and hand over your phone with the email detailing your eviction from your apartment.

Erik’s face got tighter as he read the email, his jaw clenching and unclenching.

“How did this happen?” He glanced briefly at you.

“I think someone stole my identity.” The words slip from your mouth, you’d been trying to handle it on your own this entire time, but things were worse than you perceived them to be.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply, his frustration clear. "How long has this been going on?"

"About a month." You shrunk a bit under his intense gaze, embarrassed to give him the answer.

"You've been dealing with this for a whole month and didnt say anything?" Erik knew you were headstrong and independent, he just never knew how deep that went.

You shrugged, "I'm handling it. I just need to talk to my leasing office and ask for an extension on rent. It's nothing to worry about."

Erik chuckled, mocking you under his breath. “Nothing to worry about” Erik grabbed your wrist, "The hell it is." He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a black Amex card.

"Here, pay your rent and everything else with this. I'll get Marcus on the phone and have him figure out who stole your identity." He flicked the card at you like it was a $10 Walmart gift card. You instinctively tried to push it back to him, but thought better of it when you saw the glare on his face. It's best to pick your battles with Erik and now was definitely not a good time to argue with him. He hates when you hide big things from him.

You grabbed the card and gave him a small but genuine smile, the relief and frustration fought for domination on your face. "Thank you so much Erik. I promise I'll pay you back."

"Don't worry about it. It's nothing."

You shook your head vigorously. "Bullshit! I'm paying you back one way or another."

Erik rolled his eyes, but he didn't argue. You made your way to the mall. Erik was on the phone giving Marcus a rundown of your situation so he could get started. The two of you made it to the next mall to pick up the suits. Shortly after he hung up, his phone rang again.

He greeted them with a simple "Erik." You couldn't help but eavesdrop, hey some could say it was part of your job, especially when Erik's face quickly morphed into shock.

"How the hell am I supposed to do that?" He said.

There was a bit more conversation. “Why the hell did no one see this being an issue earlier. I specifically asked what were their core values!!” Erik's face grew more frustrated as it continued before he said a quick goodbye and hung up.

"Is everything ok? Did something go wrong with the Singapore trip?" You waited a few moments before asking.

"That was Jeff. He was able to do the values and moral eval on the owners and it's about what we expected, except for the part where they truly believe a businessman needs to be married and involve his wife in the processes of the business. They like the idea of a family guy basically.” Erik rolled his eyes. “Some bullshit about how there might be another competitor with values that line up more. Jeff's suggesting I need to find a fake wife for the trip to stay in their good graces. How the fuck am I going to find someone suitable in 2 weeks?" Erik pinched the bridge of his nose, his nostrils flaring in frustration.

You immediately started racking your brain sifting through all of the women you knew who could maybe handle the job. It had to be someone who knew their way around a company, even better if they had experience in the types of mergers Erik did. They had to get along with Erik- which was pretty difficult once he got to know them- enough to convince the owners that it was a real marriage. They had to be free during the 2-3 week period he would be in Singapore, and be able to do all of this under short notice. Not to mention all of the other factors like facilitating business meetings, building rapport, etc.

Erik suddenly stopped walking, and you were so deep in thought that you ran into his broad back, almost knocking yourself to the floor.

He quickly wrapped an arm around your waist to steady you, pulling you close to his side. He smelled so damn good!

"That's it! I don't know why I didn't see it sooner!" Erik smiled brightly.

"See what?" You tilted your head in confusion. He smiled softly and moved a few pieces of your hair back into place. "You can be my wife. You know everything about the company, we've been working together for years so we won't have to worry about that. It's perfect!"

The thought of it alone brought a euphoria you've never felt before, which was terrifying. There's no way you'd be able to handle pretending to be Erik's wife! You barely held it together working alongside him these past few years.

You shook your head, "Erik, I'm sure there's someone else who would work better for this. Plus someone is going to have to handle your day to day operations while you're gone."

He smirked, "I'll have Gina take that over, no problem. Besides, weren't you just talking about how you were going to pay me back? Do this for me and I'll consider us even. Think of it as overtime."

Damn, he had a point. You would just have to guard yourself during this trip then. You can't allow yourself to get caught up. He was right though. He's done so much for you, it'd be nice to be able to help him out for once.

You looked into his eyes and nodded.

"Ok. I'll be your wife."

N7 Month prompts--Day 24 Enemies

(This is the flashback during Chapter 11 of broken road)

2183, SSV Normandy SR1

“Kaidan?” a soft voice called through the cargo bay. No one else was in the bay. Of course they weren’t it was nearly midnight.  No one was scheduled to do any work on the night shift …at least this time for once they were all caught up on the repairs and maintenance.

So how did she know he was down there? Alenko screwed his eyes shut and grimaced. Shepard had seen him go to the elevator as the Cmdr. had headed to his cabin. By now he had to know that the relationship between the two Lt.’s wasn’t just professional. They had those few stolen moments in the Mako and the extra training he was giving Reese with her biotics. Of course his CO had called her…

“Here,” he called as loud as he dared without causing anymore discomfort. He didn’t want to take pills for a small headache. Some quiet and soft light would do it. Or so he had thought. It wasn’t one of his killer migraines, but he still hurt like hell.

He still held his eyes shut as he heard someone slowly enter the Mako and slide into the back-bench seat beside him. He had chosen the Mako because it helped block out some of the extra noise and because no one was around to question him or try to send him to medbay. But now she was there…

The sentinel knew that she was watching him carefully; looking for any indication of what he wanted her to do. He wasn’t sure what to do. He hadn’t planned on her finding him. He still wasn’t used to having someone care about him beyond the mission or medical profession.

Instead of waiting for him to tell her what to do, he felt her slide into the cramped floorboard and inch her way in between his legs. Kaidan opened his eyes only to see her smiling at him. “Close your eyes,” she breathed as she gently placed her fingers against his temples.

He complied and grimaced slightly until she started massaging the sides of his head. Almost instantly the pain began subsiding a little. He sighed as she asked, “Like this?”

He had only briefly mentioned the technique to her a few weeks ago without actually showing her. Apparently she had done some research on her own. “Ah, yeah.” 

She hummed in contentment, glad that she was able to provide him some relief as she kissed his forehead. They remained like that for several long minutes; Kaidan occasionally offering a guiding hand on different ways to help drive away the pain, her fingers doing the work with little effort, as if they already knew exactly what to do.

When his headache was just a dull pain, barely registering to him, he ran his hands down her arms, moving them to her waist. He looked up at her with whiskey colored eyes and said, “Thank you. You didn’t have to come down here just because…”

“I know. I wanted to,” she replied as she moved her hands to cup his face. He hadn’t had a chance to shave, as the stubble lightly scraped her palms.

“Shepard?”

“Yeah.”

“Figures.”

She smiled at him as he leaned in and gently kissed her. He moved to her ear and whispered, “I know you’re exhausted from the training and the mission earlier…I don’t want you to burn out worrying about me.”

“Helping you if I can is not going to burn me out…At least it’s something I can control. I can help you with your headaches or work or something…”

Alenko pulled back and studied her carefully. Her tone of voice told him something more was meant with that statement. “Something you can control?”

She sighed knowing she had said the wrong thing. Now he was going to worry and start asking questions she didn’t want to answer. “It doesn’t matter, Kaidan. Forget about it.”

She attempted to get up from the floorboard but his strong grip on her waist prevented that. “Kori, what is it? Every time biotics are brought up you tense up or shut down. I can’t figure it out…You aren’t worried about me being an L2 are you?”

He looked at her in the eye, waiting for an answer. She had never treated him differently because he was an L2, but she didn’t talk about it either. She looked back at him for half a second and then glanced away. Kaidan felt all the forbidden hopes he had placed in his unconventional relationship with her suddenly evaporate.

She did think he was a threat…”It is because I’m an L2…”

His hands fell from her waist and he slumped against the seat. “I would never hurt you…ever…I’m not like that…I can’t be. I won’t be…I’m not a monster…”

Suddenly the sentinel felt arms wrap around his neck as he looked up. He found Reese leaning up, almost laying on him, embracing him. He looked down at her, confused. His hands involuntarily went back around her waist. “Reese?”

“I’m sorry, Kaidan. I know you’re not a monster. You’re a good man. You’re the best man I’ve ever met. But it’s not fair…”

“What’s not fair?” he asked hesitantly, still not sure he knew what was going on.

“You shouldn’t have to worry about always staying in control because of what Conatix did…” she whispered into his shoulder.

He frowned. Conatix’s involvement in the appearance of first-generation biotics had never been widely published let alone officially acknowledged. How did she know about it? He hadn’t really talked about Jump Zero with anyone either except with Shepard. “Kori, what exactly are you talking about?”

She shook her head and pulled away from him. He quickly moved his hands to her face, forcing her to look at him. “I need to know. What do you know?”

She closed her eyes and took a breath. “Conatix was responsible for most of the accidental exposures to humans, producing the first generation of human biotics…Those kids born like you…”

“Yeah, they were…A lot didn’t survive…and others, well they might as well not have,” he confirmed as he looked at her. There was still something else. 

Instead of questioning her, he offered, “I—My mom was exposed to eezo during an accident in Singapore when she was pregnant with me…I hit puberty and a couple suits show up to take me away to Jump Zero for training with a Turian. Stuff happened and the Brain Camp was shut down…Conatix went bankrupt and the Alliance began a “better” training program for human biotics. I wasn’t invited.”

Reese looked at him with a little bit a surprise. She hadn’t expected him to share that with her. It was one of the secrets of his past she thought would remain that way to her. When she remained silent, Kaidan pulled her gently into the seat beside him. “It was shut down because I…lost control and killed the instructor. I was trying to ‘protect’ a girl and I guess I let loose with a full biotic kick…broke the turian’s neck…scared the girl…the one I thought I had something special with…”

With that confession, he half expected Reese to flee from the Mako, leaving him as he had been after Jump Zero, utterly alone. Instead she laid her head against his shoulder and held his hand tightly. He looked down at her as she said, “That’s why you’re so controlled and introspective.”

After a few silent moments, she moved to wrap his arm around her as she rested her other hand against his chest. He felt contented knowing she was beside him and not fleeing for her life after his confession. He found that he felt as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders he had been unaware of as he fumbled with her fingers.

“Conatix officially went out of business, but they still existed as a shadow organization funded by somebody very powerful,” Reese said softly.

Kaidan frowned. He had heard those rumors but never paid them much mind, instead focusing on training and controlling his biotics on his own. “You believe that?”

“And you don’t? The accidents continued after Jump Zero shut down…just not on Earth,” she said, her tone indicating she was slightly hurt at his skepticism.

“Well, no, maybe. I don’t know…” he said honestly.

“Well, I do. I’m a result of their ‘accidents’ just like you,” she replied looking up at him defiantly.

“Reese—“

“Kaidan, listen. Please? Look, I’m not from Earth, not originally. I’m from Moirae, the first and only planet terraformed using the Destiny plan. Because of the way the terraforming was done, eezo had to be shipped under quarantine guidelines through the upper atmosphere. There was a shuttle leak engineered to happen but not at that altitude. Instead of a ‘normal’ accident that was supposed to have happened, Conatix supercharged the nano-machines working to create oxygen in the upper atmosphere and destroyed the colony. There were greater numbers of the nanites the higher you went to help create and maintain the atmosphere. Everyone was exposed to super high levels of eezo because we all breathed in the nanites everyday with every breath. It was too much for most of the colony…Only 5% of us survived and every one of us developed biotics within 6 months. All teenagers between 12 and 15 with no families left thanks to them.”

Alenko let the statements set in for several long minutes. He had never heard her voice so full of venom. She believed every word that she had told him and knowing her she had done her homework to prove it. 

He hooked a finger under her chin and said,” I believe you, Kori.”

Relief filled her as he leaned in and kissed her. “Kaidan, I—“

“Don’t let your hatred for them cloud your judgment. You’re an amazing woman who can do so much good…I know you’ve already made your family proud.”

“Kaidan, why do you always know what to say?”

“A gift?” he offered as he gave her a cheeky grin. “It only seems to work when I’m alone with you though.”

“Maybe that’s a sign…”

“I think I like that kind of sign.”

Doof and Perry facts

So, i found a cool blog of Phineas and Ferb facts, so i decided to note down all the facts about our two favourite nemeses, Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Perry Flynn-Fletcher! So here’s a long compilation of it all, for any writers out there.

Once he has scanned them, O.W.C.A. replicates Doof’s -inators to analyze whether they are getting smarter or dumber (possibly to determine his threat status)
