The day after Pearl Harbor was attacked, Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal enlisted in the U.S. Army. In August 1943, he joined the 418th Squadron of the "Bloody" 100th Bombardment Group, stationed in England. Thirteen B-17s took off for a bombing mission over Munster … but only one returned - aptly named "Rosie's Riveters" - full of holes and flying on two engines. But in spite of the intercom being out, the oxygen system shot-up and a large ragged hole in the skin of the right wing, they had successfully dropped their bombs over the target.In March, 1944 Rosie's Riveters completed its 25th mission, which completed their military service. But Rosie reenlisted, saying "I had to do what I could for as long as I was able." This was in spite of the fact that 15 missions was the average life of a bomber crew. Later, Rosenthal was made head of the 350th Squadron after the CO was shot down. Intelligence Officer Marvin Bowman found Rosenthal "one of the great figures of the Air Force; a shy, modest, and patriotic gentleman of truly amazing courage and achievement."When Rosenthal's plane went down over Germany in September, he broke his arm and nose - but luckily was rescued by the Free French, to whom he had dropped supplies only a few weeks before. As soon as his arm had healed, Rosie returned to his original (418th) Squadron, and was chosen to lead a mission to Berlin on February 3, 1945. Even after a direct flak hit put an engine on fire, his blazing Fortress still managed to drop its bombs on the targeted Erkner factory before Rosenthal gave the signal to "Abandon ship." The rest of the crew parachuted and after B-17 had descended to about 1,000 feet, Rosenthal was the last to leave with the ground dangerously close … just before the ship exploded. Fortunately, he was found by Russians, who embraced him and took him to a hospital. This was his 52nd mission; there was to be just one more. Rosie flew his last mission after VE-Day … to free prisoners from concentration camps.Rosenthal was one of the most decorated pilots in the Eighth Air Force. He received 16 decorations, including the Distinguished Service Cross for "extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against the enemy," the Silver Star (with cluster) for "gallantry in action," the Distinguished Flying Cross (with cluster) for "heroism or extraordinary achievement during aerial flight," the Air Medal (with seven clusters), the Purple Heart (with cluster), plus the British Distinguished Flying Cross and the French Croix de Guerre.

Rapture's Best and Brightest Heights (or the closest guesses)

I went into height-checking again, and I did it by once again diving into Blender and measuring a model whose canon height we know: Sofia Lamb.

Sofia is canonically 6 feet tall, very tol lady, and for this latest investigation into random af BioShock trivia, I decided to go with this being her height without her heels, which, fun fact, give her an extra 3 inches in height based on measuring from her heel to where I would guess her scalp is under her hair.

Then I went and lined up the size of her face on her model to her picture on the poster above and have some rough guesses on heights of the other 5 characters, presuming the poster does not take perspective into account given their proportions all appear pretty much the same.

Sofia Lamb = 6'3" with heels, otherwise 6'0" without

Brigid Tenenbaum - 5'7"

Sander Cohen = 6'0"

Gil Alexander = 6'3"

Andrew Ryan = 6'2"

Yi Suchong = 5'11"

Some guesstimates there for some characters based on that anyway, I'd take this with a grain of salt however since, again, this is presuming that the proportions of both Sofia in this poster and her in-game model are the same, and that this poster has a flat perspective of all 6 characters in it.

More random headcanons that don't matter but kinda do: -Sinclair legally adopted Jack, Eleanor, and Kyle for tax write offs -Kyle was homeschooled, up until his father took him to Rapture -Down the hill there is this one neighbor that is super suspicious of Sinclair but not Jack who literally has glowing yellow eyes 😭 -Silas got arrested for resisting arrest with violence and assault, Sinclair bailed him out but now he has a court date 😕 -Alexander is super paranoid that his family will track him down like Silas' mother found Silas. He does NOT want to see them, any of them. They are part of the reason he went to Rapture in the first place. Sadly, his family has found his info and whereabouts, and are on their way, send Gil thoughts and prayers cause he's not gonna be mentally well. 😬 -Eleanor does arts and crafts with Martin, the things she creates are a little wonky but Martin keeps all of them on his trinket shelf -Hector taught Eleanor and Jack swears in spanish, he got yelled at by Sinclair -The house is a multi language house hold. The languages that are spoken are Spanish, Korean, German, French, English, and Italian I'LL THINK OF MORE LATER Anyways anyways, NEXT QUESTION "Do the children have nicknames for the adults?" Yes. Jack can't say most of their names but Suchong is Papa, Tenenbaum is Mama (she hates it but is warming up to it). Jack heard Sinclair call Gilbert, Guppy, once and he will NOT STOP CALLING GIL THAT. Like they've tried to get him to stop, albeit he can only say it like "Gubby" (he can't say his P's that well yet) but still. He does stop when he's older. Sinclair is Poppy Auggie or just Poppy. Eleanor is Ellie. Kyle is Ky and Ky-ky, Silas is Sy (pronounced Psy) , Martin is Mari (pronounced Mar-ee), and Hector is fucking Tío (he taught him to say it). Some of these nicknames change after he grows up. Eleanor after a while she started calling Gilbert dad, the first time she called him dad, he sobbed for an hour. Sinclair is Papa Augustus/August. Suchong and Tenenbaum are Uncle and Aunt. Jack is well Jack. And the other 4, she just calls them by their first names. When Silas' mom finds him, Jack calls her Gigi (pronounced Gee-Gee) and Eleanor calls her Grandma Cobb. I will add to this post if need be with reblogs but that's it for now.
