Item 47

Your strict neighborhood HOA (Homeowners’ Association) got replaced by a better HOA: the Hopeful Optimist’s Association. They’ve decided that your lawn isn’t quite up to regulations. Get your front yard up to snuff by building a large-scale, jaw-dropping sculpture or structure dedicated to Hope. Make it so magnificent that motorists backup & park to gaze at its beauty. (Conversely, it could be that YOUR neighborhood HOA got replaced by the Horrible Organization for Awfulness... You get where we're going with this, right?)

Team Scrumtrulescent, 2016 and 2017 Runner Up and 2018 Winner, is looking for new members for the 2019 hunt!

Are you looking for a fantastic new team for Gish 2019? Want to join a group of creative, fun-loving, super competitive, abnosome people?  Take a look at Team Scrumtrulescent!

Though we're ineligible to win, that doesn't mean we can't rock this hunt! This year, we're aiming for another Runner-Up title. We're looking to maintain our current quality of items and have another fun-filled hunt full of sleepless nights, strange conversations, and giggle-fits caused by bananas and giant IKEA box piñatas. (Plus, we gotta get us those sweet, sweet gishpoints)

Who are we?

A team full of super fun, super awesome Gish veterans (ranging from two to eight years of previous hunts) from twelve locations in three countries.

What have we done?

A whole lot! In addition to winning Gish 2018, we were runner-ups in both 2016 and 2017. We’ve had multiple items in the coffee table book and Hall of Fame every year since 2013. Our submissions have been featured in mid-hunt emails, promo videos, tweets, and posts by the official Gishwhes accounts, and one of our photos was even used as a Facebook cover by both the Gishwhes account and Misha himself!

What are we looking for?

We’re searching for a few new teammates who are ready to kick butt and have fun doing it! You must be willing to communicate with the rest of the team before the hunt (we want to get to know you!), and daily during the hunt, try your hardest to complete as many high quality submissions as you can (10 each is what we all aim for, but even more is even better!), be a team player, and have some fun while doing it!

Any type of Art but love doing portrait of Misha and Queen has become one of my my favorite and any  Humanitarian Items

I am an honest, friendly hardworking person, that enjoys traveling, meeting new people and doing a Halloween Harry Potter House Tour every year. I have lots of resources amongst family and friends to help a team talent pool and I did have a submission in the coffee table book this year. I will give it my all, and be a good cheerleader.

GISHWHES 2017 - Team Minions It is finally that time of the year again. People are slowly starting to prepare for the craziness to come, while we still try to get in the sleep from last year - GISHWHES registration is open! And Team Minions is once again on the hunt for some new members.

Our Team: This team has been running since 2013 though we get new members each year. Each times we got to nearly 100 items, with a pictures in 2014 and 2013s Coffee Table Book and some in the GHOF. I honestly couldn’t be prouder! We skype a lot (and with that I mean nearly constantly), we organize through a Facebook Group and have members from all around the world. The people in this Team became my friends, my family. Not only did we have a great time during GISHWHES but I also know throughout the whole year that I can talk to any of our members about anything in the world - and I did so on many occasions. I have never met more heart-felt, kind, crazy, funny and abnosome people.

You wanna join Team Minions? We do take GISHWHES serious. We wanna do a lot of items. And still our main course for GISHWHES is the fun of it, the love, the craziness and the kindness! So we are looking for open-minded people, with no shame (okay, we all were embarrassed at a lot of points during GISHWHES, but the point of it is to say screw it and do it anyways) and no need of sleep (jk, we do sleep… sometimes…). You should be able to commit to that one week (even though we all do work or have school during that week or other things coming up once or twice, so we definitely understand! Normal life stuff is just so boring…) It is no problem if this would be your first year! If you are interested just leave us a message in which you tell us a bit about you and why/how you wanna do GISHWHES.

Item 116:  Not many people know this, but the Kessel Run was actually a foot race. Let’s see at least 5 Star Wars characters competing in the Kessel Run in a shopping mall.

2017: some things

Like David Mitchell said on Big Fat Quiz of the Year, 2017 was personally adequate and internationally disastrous.

anyway, here are some items from 2017 that made it personally adequate:

Went to a couple of amazing concerts (saw my gay heroes)

Learned hand embroidery

Took part in setting a world record

Did gishwhes and got in the coffee table book

Got into more podcasts (uhhh, if you’re looking for recs? Myths and Legends, Fictional, British History Podcast, Weird Work, and Invisibilia.  Plus all the Night Vale Presents podcasts, obvs.)

Sold more of my art or whatever than last year

Did some focus groups that were kind of interesting, including one at the headquarters of a place that designs shoes (as well as environmental disasters) and got to Voice Opinions on next years line of outdoor shoes

Switched to cloth pads, which 10/10 would recommend, possibly the best life decision I made all year

Getting a cast iron skillet was also a really solid decision

Went to Portland, Oregon which was super cool

Went to five (5) movies this year (up from last year’s 3)

My kittehs continue to be cute and strange, like small furry alien creatures

Also I’m just really nailing homemade pizza right now you guys
