GLAD AND LOLA for the wedding meme!!
HEADCANONS MEME: WEDDING EDITION!!
send me 💍 + A SHIP and i’ll tell you—
where they get married: They plan on marrying at McDuck Manor because free/fancy buuuut pressure gets to them and they elope at Atlantic City.
when they get married: Summer, and sundown off the beach, baby!
what traditions they include: The garter/ bouquet toss at the strangers ( witnesses ) on the pier chapel after they elope. Tacky stuff wins out; they wanted to X out the formal stress they incurred in the planning they escaped. I’m pretty sure there were Elvis and Ann-Margret impersonators there.
what their wedding cake looks like: One thing they DID want to splurge, so it’s going to be half carrot cake tiers for her and swiss chocolate on his tiers, and of course his tiers are all fancy edible metallic painted fondant and simple chic, and hers are brightly colored fondant sculptures of sport refs and Lisa-Frank-esque creatures for LOLz. Of course it’s a terrifying combo of design, but it IS delicious and so “them.”
who proposed to who first: It HAS to be Gladstone.
who walks down the aisle and who waits at the altar: They enter at the same time because, ELOPE.
what their wedding attire looks like: They were going to be all out high fashion, but as they elope, Lola opts for half her dressings with flip flops and the minimized veil, and Glad still wears his tux coat but he’s got sunglasses on and an open shirt underneath. Because they are SO classy.
what their wedding colour scheme is and what sort of decor they have: Metallic Gold and silver, black, “Sex and the City” pink, white, neon green, bright yellow--a total mess. One of the reasons they bolted.
what flowers are in the bouquet: Red camellias, yellow, orange, and purple lilies and other random double-bloom flowers mixed with ferns. ( half the flowers are probably grown BY Gladstone for her😉 )
what their vows are: Total improv, but Lola slips in a ridiculous limerick before she gets serious.
if anyone’s late to the wedding: Well...they eloped so...oops. Guess THEY are.
who’s in the bridal parties / groomsmen: Glad’s not really going to drag anyone on their eloping, because he’s that kinda asshole, but he does phone Don, Della, and Fethry AFTER the deed is done like the casual jerk he is. Meanwhile ( in the shared verse ONLY ) Lola dragged Gabby from wherever to be there “or else.”
what their bridal party / groomsmen / are wearing: Welllll they didn’t get this far in the wedding planning, but my guess a very angry and annoyed Della is getting fit for a bridesmaid dress AS she gets the phone call that Glad’s eloped.
who gives speeches at the reception: When they return? They get mostly yelled at by everyone at the same time to where you can’t understand who is ranting what. But when they all calm down, they have a nice modest, family-only dinner outside.
who catches the bouquet( s ): Well, Gabby’s the only one there to do it at the actual event. And it doesn’t count because Lola hurls it at her face.
what their wedding photos are like: Half stupid and candid af. And lots of vain shots of them together, Glad mugging constantly, lbr. But there are a few sensitive, soft ones that were caught of them by Huey when no one was looking.
what sort of food they have at the reception: Well, it’s a modest family feast when they DO return, so lots of bbq and high end vegetarian stuff for Lola.
who cries first during the ceremony: Some strange older lady there as a witness...which makes them laugh instead of cry.
how wild their reception gets: The party is surprisingly mellow/PG since it’s in the mansion’s backyard/pool area. But of course the adult cousins get stupid and we all know that means everyone’s in the pool in full clothing and bad karaoke. Lola of course, is dragged in because well, she’s IN THE CLUB NOW.
what sort of favours they have: Didn’t happen, because they stopped planning halfway, but there’s a lot of random chocolates/candies from different confectionaries they were trying out, so all the treats mismatch, but no one cares they just eat it.
where they go for their honeymoon: They do a beach cruise down to the Mexico/Florida area, then take a very sunburned hung-over flight back to Calisota. XD
something memorable that happens during the party / ceremony: Donald tries to give a long speech that starts off as a rant but becomes sincere, but José and Panchito bomb his efforts trying to make it “better” and they end up in a brawl that...is quite stupid. But Lola thinks it’s hilarious, and Glad’s used to it.
who officiates the ceremony: Some preacher that looks like an 80 year old Elvis with REALLY long sideburns.
what song their first dance is to: Last Dance by Donna Summer because they aren’t obnoxiously tacky AT ALL or anything, ( Please don’t ASK ). But then later in the evening it gets softer, with some Rat Pack standards for Glad and ABBA for Lola.
who gives who away as they walk down the aisle: They eloped...so...they walked down together.
