Thinking about how in this scene:

there was literally no reason for Richie absolutely TUG Eddie towards him. It's like he was actively looking for an excuse to touch him and even in the face of Pennywise was like 'ah yes an opportunity to touch my crush'. Like HELLO? The arm around his back???? Richard Wentworth Tozier I know what you are (a loser)

REAL because it's so easy to be like, 'oh yeah I would be able to tell it's just Pennywise up to Its usual shit and I could just tell myself not to believe in the facade' but if I were shoved into a locked room full of balloons (shudder) I would be immediately on the floor and the easiest prey to ever exist istg.

the thing is. while I was writing IT fanfiction (the guilt of the eight, piece of hope and so far unpublished other stuff) the losers always had this one moment when they had to overcome their fears and thus proved their strength by not being scared anymore. And in the IT book when they were first confronted with their worst fears they already sort of managed to get out on their own. Anyways-

If I’m home alone and Pennywise lets this doll from the Annabelle movies jump at me there’s a great amount of screaming and panic attack and then IT can eat me because NO WAY am I strong enough to see behind ITs Fassade. I see that doll I die on the spot.

do you read more chapte one or chapter 2 fics?

I think definitely chapter 2!! Unsurprisingly, the majority if what I read is reddie - of course I adore chapter 1 fics with getting together and first kiss and stuff like that, but I think having them be adults leaves room for a load more stuff. Fix-it, primarily, and Eddie's divorce, and Richie's stand-up, and the idea of reuniting with the classic trope of "it's always been him". Of course the other Losers, too; canon Benverly, and Mike getting to go see the world, and fix-its with Stan. Bill is there, too, ig (we love his dumbass though <3). This is a personal thing, but I think I understand the characterisations of the adults a bit more, too, which means if they're well-written, they're so good. As I mentioned, this doesn't mean that I don't read chapter 1 fics and enjoy them - of course I do, and some of my favourites are with the Losers as kids!! But yeah, chapter 2 fics, in my opinion, generally have richer storylines and (to be honest?) more interesting plots.
