It comes together, the top shirt and the bottom... I want to say it’s base-game, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s a toss up. I think he likes a lot of gray as well, but green very much, too.

I think what made me put him in more green lately is because he’s gardening more now than when he was a scientist.

I try to keep sims with their colors... not sure why I do that to be quite honest. William has his green, greys (and browns...  keeping it earthy), Nina has her fuchsia (highlights her personality -- don’t ask me how, I just went with it), Gloria her yellow (and her reds -- I try to keep her going through the fruits she’s particularly using a lot of at the moment which happen to be lemons and cherries), Peter’s favorite color is blue so I’ve been dressing him in blue’s probably since the start because that’s all I see him in when I look back on caps. Bella has her red and her black because that’s just standard “Goth” colors -- I’ve also kept the same colors going with her husband and their kids.

I guess I try to give them a theme so that I’m not using the same things in their houses/possession. Also helps with their personalities and makes so whatever they’re wearing -- makes sense no matter the point of the story (at least to me it does)

But anyway -- back to William. You’re as much of an HF fan as I am so you’ll appreciate what’s below. One of my most favorite scenes with William in The Age of Adaline -- he was wearing dark gray. I tend to put him in lighter grays in the game, but I do that because I know I’m going to edit the photos afterwards and I tend to go more natural/dark in caps than bright (especially on inside shots)

8: an obscure hf who needs more love

see the trouble with this one is that the ppl i follow are generally Niche(tm) enough that i have a lot of trouble parsing who’s obscure and who isn’t! but here’s a guy who is BY NO MEANS!! obscure in russia but generally the only americans who know him are those who care abt russian lit... mikhail bulgakov, author of master and margarita. (so much for no authors lmao)

9: favorite history-based movie

god, pride (2014). it’s got everything: labor history, gay rights, imelda staunton... a scene where everyone stands up and sings bread and roses and you the audience cry.... it’s got EVERYTHING, 

10: favorite historical novels 

if we’re using the rule i used for movies up there, and deciding that it should be something centering around a historical person/event rather than just with a historical setting, it’s gonna actually be angel on the square by gloria whelan - at least off the top of my head, that is. it inserts a kind of oc into the romanov court leading up to and in the aftermath of the russian revolutions and it really is one of my favorite contemporary books i’ve ever read. there are probably other historical novels i’ve read and liked but this is what immediately sprang to mind. 

in terms of more ‘period drama’ type books, my favorite one i’ve read recently is a gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue, out this june, gay mildly-supernatural grand tour adventures, it’s a party, proof that ya isn’t dead, would recommend.
