The funniest thing about the claim that scientists have lost their scientific integrity in the modern age is that there are more ethical, regulatory and editorial boards and procedures now than there ever been. Scientists have literally never been under more scrutiny than they are now.

My university, Chico State, is essentially trying to gut its science department in their merger of colleges.
This is simply, fucked. Even more so than the loss of funding. Breaking apart natural sciences to lower efficiency and coordination. And no college having science in the fucking name. Trying to redirect and remove science.
You didn’t consult students for shit. Following the ripple of our fascist government’s hatred of the sciences.
Fuck. You. ADMIN.

Allegory of Wisdom Fostering the Arts and Sciences
Artist: Gerard de Lairesse (Dutch, 1641-1711)
Date: 1670
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Private collection
Description
The figure of Minerva, goddess of wisdom, is shown seated on a throne above the other figures. Female figures below appear to represent the arts (Painting and Music) and sciences (Astronomy and Mathematics). The two female figures conversing at far right may depict Rhetoric and Poetry, and the figure holding a basket overflowing with flowers and fruit probably personifies Abundance.

If you ever find yourself being afraid of things like death or time passing, or of little things like your next job interview, if you ever find yourself being sad because of things like that crush you don't have the courage to talk to, look up quantum physics. i am not even joking. quantum physics willI put everything into perspective. you'll end up being relieved by the idea of time passing, of death, of things beginning and ending, and you'll find out that a job interview or a crush aren't things that should affect you so much negatively. quantum physics is TERRIFYING

“Humans beings are too complex and diverse to fit in simple theories, so, if you hear things like "women only care about money" or "every men cheat", be skeptical, in most cases expect something much more complicated than that, various exceptions are present in most situations.”
