Ukrainian M142 HIMARS launching off a salvo of GMLRS rockets at a Russian position.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has hailed the success of strikes inside Russia with Western-supplied weapons, saying the ability to hit "Russian terrorists' positions and launchers near the border… truly matters."
"It works. Just as we expected," he added during his daily address on June 18.
In May, the U.S. allowed Ukraine to use HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, GMLRS rockets, and artillery against Russian territory near Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.
"We see how the world's commitment opens up new prospects for restoring our security," Zelensky said
Washington however still prohibits Ukraine from using ATACMS and other long-range U.S.-supplied weapons for strikes deeper inside Russia.
Zelensky on June 2 said the U.S. should also lift the ban on long-range strikes in order to protect lives, arguing that airfields deep inside Russia are used to launch strikes on Ukraine.
Speaking a few days later, U.S. President Joe Biden told ABC News that Washington was not authorizing Kyiv to carry out long-range strikes with U.S.-supplied weapons on locations far from the border with Ukraine, such as Moscow.

News of the Day 6/3/25: Ukraine
Paywall free.
An operation by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has hit "more than 40" Russian bombers at air bases "in the rear of the Russian Federation," a source in the agency told the Kyiv Independent on June 1. "Enemy strategic bombers are burning en masse in Russia — this is the result of a special operation by the SBU," the source said. "Right now, the Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a large-scale special operation to destroy enemy bomber aircraft in the rear of the Russian Federation. "SBU drones are practicing on aircraft that bomb Ukrainian cities every night. Currently, more than 40 aircraft are known to have been hit, including the A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22 M3."
"In the rear" doesn't begin to do it justice. The furthest airbase was 4000 km (appr. 2485 miles) from the Ukraine border.

That's not only technically impressive, it's flat-out audacious. I'm impressed. I've been fighting the temptation to compare Zelenskyy to the vervet monkey of neon-blue-scrotum fame, but honestly, any description that doesn't make reference to his giant brass ones feels inappropriate just now.
And because I'm an American, I can't not talk about the America-ness of it all, which (blessedly, for this one moment at least) is not really about America at all.
Original source.
The timing of this kinetic covert operation could not have been better from the Ukrainian perspective. Peace negotiations begin again in Istanbul with the Russians on Monday, even as Moscow continues to make clear it isn’t interested in a 30-day ceasefire. Trump is said to be exasperated that a suddenly “crazy” Putin won’t end the war as a “personal favour” to him and is growing weary of engaging in pointless diplomacy. But the US president has also made no statements about future security assistance to Ukraine, which badly needs three things only the US military-industrial complex can provide at scale: ballistic missile defence, GMLRS rocket artillery and howitzer ammunition. So Ukraine, it seems, is imposing its own bespoke penalties on Russia, hitting its adversary on supposedly impregnable ground and eliminating a good percentage of its irreplaceable bomber fleet. CBS News and Axios have reported that Kyiv did not inform the Trump administration of its plans, which took 18 months to pull together. This means that when Zelensky sat through that Two Minutes of Hate session delivered jointly by Trump and JD Vance in the Oval Office last February, he had this secret caper bouncing about in the back of his head.
And isn't that last bit just a truly delicious thought?
I am sorry we can't be a more dependable ally. They deserve better. But I am impressed beyond words how well Ukraine is holding up, and truly grateful to see them not implode without our support.

The Staggering Cost of Losing Europe's Arms Market (and trust) | Part 3: Drones!
Over the last few weeks, we’ve showcased Europe’s cutting-edge military capabilities—from tanks, GMLRS, fighter jets, IFVs, APCs, and air defence systems. In this episode, we shift our focus to one of the most rapidly evolving aspects of modern warfare: drones, anti-drone technology, electronic warfare, and satellite capabilities. Segment 1: Fixed-Wing Drones European manufacturers are redefining endurance and versatility on the battlefield. In this segment, we explore flagship projects like the Eurodrone program and highlight combat-proven systems such as the Slovenian-made C-astral, Danish Heidrun from Sky Watch, Tekever’s long-endurance platforms, and the Dutch DeltaQuad Evo and Pro. These drones—engineered for extended ISR missions with high-resolution sensors and modular payloads—are transforming how surveillance and precision strikes are executed. Segment 2: FPV Drones & Loitering Munitions Next, we delve into the world of FPV drones and loitering munitions. From innovative designs like Lithuania’s Sphak and Finland’s Steel Eagle to mass-produced 3D-printed variants like Goida, Bavovna, and Nort Varta, these agile platforms are proving indispensable in Ukraine. We also look at European loitering munitions, including Poland’s Warmate, KNDS’s Colibri, and other emerging systems that offer affordability and scalability in dynamic combat scenarios. Segment 3: European Counter-Drone Measures As drone technology advances, so does the need for effective countermeasures. We break down how European defence industries are developing sophisticated electronic warfare capabilities—like Italian ELT’s scramblers and Sweden’s Saab Sirius system—to jam, disrupt, and neutralize hostile drones. We also examine kinetic solutions from Rheinmetall and Poland’s Pilica system, as well as experimental laser-based directed energy weapons and advanced autonomous combat drones from Turkey and collaborative projects like Eurodrone and BAE’s Taranis. Segment 4: The Bigger Picture What does all this mean for European defence? The integration of cutting-edge drone systems with robust counter-drone measures signals a major strategic shift. By developing home-grown, scalable solutions, Europe is not only enhancing its offensive and defensive capabilities but also setting new benchmarks in military innovation and strategic autonomy.

Ukrainian pilots start training in F-16 based in Arizona
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 10/27/2023 - 13:00 in Military
Ukrainian pilots began training of the F-16 in Arizona with the Arizona National Air Guard, leaving Kiev one step closer to acquiring the U.S.-made fighters that Ukraine says it needs to help defend its sovereign territory and its citizens from Russian troops.
U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink announced the training in the X, saying: “This is an essential part of the construction of Ukraine's air defense. The United States is proud to work with European partners to support Ukraine against Russia's brutal aggression."
A National Guard spokesman said on Thursday that the 162ª Wing of the Arizona National Air Guard in Tucson began training a small number of Ukrainian pilots this week “in the fundamentals of the F-16”, with the training expected to last several months. Normally, F-16 training courses last about eight months, according to the Pentagon.
Training at Morris National Guard Air Base follows English training at Lackland Air Base in Texas last month. Proficiency in English is required to fly F-16 fighters.
During a press conference in Brussels earlier this month, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that F-16 fighters could reach Ukraine by the middle of next year.
The deputy chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force, General David Allvin, said that the F-16 aircraft will be important for Ukraine in the long term, as the Ukrainian Air Force will be able to fully integrate the new fighters into its armed forces.
The news came at a time when the United States announced that it would provide up to $150 million in additional military aid to Ukraine.
The package includes more GMLRS rockets for high-mobility artillery rocket systems, ammunition for the National Advanced Surface-Air Missile System, TOW anti-tank missiles, AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles and 155 mm cartridges.
The availability of 155 mm cartridges has raised concerns in recent days, as U.S. partners, Ukraine and Israel need them to fight their wars - one against the invasion of Russia, the other against the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which killed hundreds of Israelis and kidnapped more than 200 others in an attack on October 7.
Washington said it is able to support the military needs of Tel Aviv and Kiev.

Introduction – How Upcoming Infrastructure Projects Will Transform Mumbai in 2025
Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is rapidly evolving with massive infrastructure projects planned and underway in 2025. These upcoming infrastructure projects in Mumbai are set to transform the city’s connectivity, reduce travel time, ease congestion, and open new real estate investment avenues. Enhanced transport networks, modern airports, coastal roads, metro expansions, and flyovers are creating a new growth story for Mumbai.
For homebuyers and investors, this infrastructure boom presents the perfect opportunity to secure properties in rapidly developing suburbs. Developers like Sayba Group are strategically offering premium flats close to these emerging infrastructure corridors, ensuring high future value and convenient lifestyles.

Metro Line 2B (DN Nagar to Mandale)
Metro Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarvadavali)
Metro Line 5 (Thane to Kalyan)
Metro Line 7 (Dahisar East to Gundavali)
These lines will improve east-west and north-south connectivity, reducing travel time by over 50% for commuters.
Areas like Jogeshwari West, Kurla, Chembur, and Mulund will see real estate growth due to proximity to metro stations. Sayba Group’s strategically located projects in these zones offer an unmatched advantage for future residents who prioritize hassle-free travel.

Phase 1 Completion: Targeted for 2025
Passenger Capacity: 60 million annually upon full completion
Connectivity: Seamless access via MTHL, Sion-Panvel Expressway, and upcoming metro lines
The airport will attract global businesses, create job opportunities, and skyrocket property prices in Panvel, Ulwe, and Kharghar. Buyers can also expect strong rental demand near the airport.
Sayba Group continues to focus on providing flats within easy access to these growing transport links, making their properties a smart long-term investment.
Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) – New Connectivity Corridors
The Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) will bridge the east-west travel gap in the northern suburbs.
Benefits: Reduces travel time from Goregaon to Mulund to just 15-20 minutes
Impact: Decongests Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road and improves access across the suburbs
This project will unlock new real estate hotspots and significantly raise the value of flats in Goregaon, Jogeshwari, and Mulund. Sayba Group’s flats near GMLR will provide a future-ready lifestyle with reduced daily commute times.
Elevated Road Projects – Faster Access Across Suburbs
Several elevated corridors are under construction to streamline travel across Mumbai:
Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) Extension: Extending towards Vakola to ease traffic near the airport.
Elevated Roads in Kurla, Ghatkopar, and Andheri: Improving east-west flow and connecting to metro lines.
These projects will reduce bottlenecks and enhance suburban connectivity, making properties near elevated roads highly desirable.
Sayba Group’s ongoing and upcoming projects benefit from proximity to these fast-track developments, offering future residents faster access to key destinations.
Road Widening & Flyover Projects – Smoother Commutes in Mumbai
Mumbai is investing in road widening and flyover projects across key junctions:
Widening of LBS Marg, Andheri-Kurla Road, and SV Road
Construction of new flyovers at Kalanagar, BKC, and Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road
These upgrades will ease congestion at critical choke points and improve daily commuting efficiency. Flats located near these improved road networks will see steady price growth.
