Rhett the Etsy Baker

I loved that more so much of them guessing Etsy stores. This is dedicated to the lovely @too-old-for-this-mix

R- And every single time you show me something, I want to do it.

L-Do not give this man his own Etsy store.

R- The cookies that I can make and put in little baggies and hand out to people.

L- I kind of could.

R- I’d do a little stack of them, I’d tie them up with a little bow.

It started innocently enough. Another layer to Rhett, Link observed about his husband. Just a cute little More conversation. If he only knew what was unleashed. About a week later, Link was surprised.

“I’m home.” Link said as he stepped inside their home. The smell of baked goods filled the air. He headed into the kitchen to find Rhett amidst cookie batter, various bags from the craft store spewing out little bags and ribbon. There were also a few baskets around and Rhett’s laptop opened to Etsy on the dining room table. A timer dinged as Rhett pulled a new batch of cookies from the oven to cool.

“Hey there, how was your appointment?” Rhett asked as he went to curl some ribbon.

“Good. I see you’ve been busy.” Link laughed as he tried to swipe a fresh cookie. It was warm and delicious. One could even say it was made with love.

“I just couldn’t get that idea out of my head, you know.” Rhett replied as he put down the ribbon and started filling a dozen or so bags with cookies. Link observed his little assembly line of packaging the cookies finding it endearing.

“When did you even set up your store?”

“The night after we shot that more. I pulled up some recipes as well. It was pretty easy.”

“Seems like it really took off by the looks of things.”

“Yes, it did. Good thing we’re on break for a bit.” Link laughed at this stealing another cookie.

“Hey! I need those!” Rhett teased as he finished the last of the bows he tied on. “Tada! What do you think?”

Link looked at the finished product and couldn’t be happier. He walks up to his husband planting the biggest kiss he can muster.

“Absolutely beautiful!”

OK first of all, the cutesy music and the constant cuts to Stevie smirking really dulled the groove for me, and also they cut out the induction and went straight to the deepener (the floating hand thing) which takes out basically my fave part, you could tell they cut out a lot (for pacing and time I'm sure). Also the dude's vibe kinda put me off a little, the blazer and the jewelry and the soul patch gave him a bit of a Vegas vibe tbh, he was a bit too close to stage show territory for me. But that's OK, this was made to be an entertaining episode of GMM, not my personal wank material. And it still does pretty well as that tbh 💦 Hot damn, Neal. Hot damn. I'd pay good money to watch the unedited footage in a dark room by myself.

Actually it kinda proved the point from earlier -- the suggestions that meshed with Link’s desires worked much better than the ones that veered toward stage show territory. Giggling while drinking the juice was easy because Link is a giggly person and his goal was to increase his enjoyment of a thing. Believing the tomato was a peach was easy because Link loves peaches and his goal was to be in a place where tomatoes taste as good as peaches. Yelling I LOVE TOMATOES wasn't as easy because Link wanted to love tomatoes, not to do tricks on command. He did say "I love tomatoes" when asked, but he didn't "scream it in your highest pitched voice" because he wasn't in a screaming place, he was in the chillest place imaginable. Ditto for ordering the pizza -- he could ask Stevie what he was told to ask her because he’s comfortable playing pretend, but see how he didn't get super angry at her no matter how much the dude tried to goad him into it? He was there to go inside himself and change something, not to act like a different person. That’s why the whole “tell people what’s wrong with them” trick didn’t work -- Rhett would've done it because that's what Rhett does, but Link was just saying whatever random thought came up when he looked at someone because his mind was relaxed.

And boy was it. Hot daaaaaammmmnnnn. It’s more than just how boneless and soft he was, how easy he slipped in and out over and over -- you heard how deep his voice got, how he had to keep clearing his throat, how hard it was for him to form sentences? He was all in it. He was all in it, y’all. A+++++ good shit 👍💯 His adam’s-apple bobbing as he tried so hard to keep his eyes open is now the prime jewel stored safely in my spank bank 👀 He was so comfy. He would’ve stayed there all day if they let him. I knew he’d go hard, man -- not just from #713, but also that More where they did the meditation app with the bird sounds. Rhett couldn’t let his guard down and stop thinking enough to get the right brain wave, but Link did it at the drop of a hat and stayed there even with everyone talking. He knows how to get in the zone all by himself. With someone else there to guide him?? Good lord, what I wouldn't give to experience that, from either side of the chair. (I came close once, but that was a long time ago with someone who's no longer in my life, alas.) Instead I will continue to live vicariously through shit like this. :D :D :D
