Today Caiti announced she's not coming back to streaming. I want to highlight why the #MeToo movement in 2018 was such a big deal.

This girl was sexually assaulted by a powerful man in her career. No matter what would have happened or how much proof she had, speaking out would ruin her career.

She would be known for the most traumatic event in her life. Strangers would constantly gossip about it, and other men would make their opinions known.

She's young; she can quit streaming and pursue other ventures. This decision will not ruin her life. But if she were older, she would either have to be forced to come back and endure relentless harassment, or step away and accept a financial crisis. This would have ruined her life.

This is public because these are public figures, but for millions of women, this is their lives. Powerful men can abuse countless women and stay in power because speaking out about it ruins lives.

This was Caiti's first Vidcon as a streamer. She was 18 and so excited to see all of her friends. She was ecstatic to meet bigger streamers and make connections. This was such a pivotal moment in her career. And now it's gone.

If you still support George, Dream, or anyone that was in that fucking room, I don't have a single shred of fucking respect for you. You are promoting a culture that ruins lives. That man doesn't deserve anything but the damn streets. He certainly doesn't deserve money or influence. He doesn't deserve a single damn woman in his life willing to call him a friend. I only hope his current supporters are too young to understand what happened.

I hope Caiti finds fulfillment in her new ventures, and I hope she leaves all of this behind. And to anyone reading who has been assaulted and is too afraid to speak out, I hope you find peace and people who see you for more than your trauma.

A bit parasocial of me but whatever. I genuinely hate youtubers who quit youtube but are vague about it so that the fans keep giving them money. Why is new dream merch coming out more often than new dream videos? (Oh right, his project that is so innovative that literal nasa is emailing him about the technological advancements he's made🙄🙄 how is anyone buying that.)

Why is gnf's merch still available? That manchild hates streaming or making videos, he's never coming back to it unless he runs out of money.

Sapnap is the only guy out of those three that still does stuff, but apparently he's getting so few views that he's at the point of claiming to shit himself for more attention.

meeting sapnap and george: FINAL THOUGHTS!

i wanna preface by saying that twitchcon staff was rushing the fuck out of us <- telling the crowd to take no more than 35 seconds // take the badge in our hands to quicken up the signing process // staff taking our phones to make the pics themselves, again, to quicken the process (whilst really helpful at times!! it lead to some confusion and disorganization). this put a lot of pressure on us and the meetings were a bit clumsy & rushed.

GEORGE: I HUGGED HIM😭💙 he has REALLY strong and hard shoulders it's kind of crazy. he crouched down so that i didn't face plant on his tshirt😭🫰 i honestly thought people were bluffing when they said george's hugs were s tier but i agree. you would think he's reserved with his personal space but he actually goes in for the hug really hard :(( his hug is very firm and secure. he puts his arms around you really tightly and it's not like a 1 second hug. he REALLY goes in. it felt really good 😞 he was a lot more relaxed today!!! he looked really happy. AND SO HOT i had to turn around to stop looking for a second. i told them to do the eepies for the pic and george looked at me and said. oh😯 a mimir😊 WHICH WAS REALLY CUTE !!!

i told him about the hardcore world as well. he didn't understand at first but when he finally got it he was like OH i completely forgot about it omg thanks for reminding me. and sap said he agreed!!

SAPNAP: HE'S SOOOO CUTE YOU GUYS LIKE IM NOT KIDDING 😭😭 he's genuinely such a sweet little guy i NEED him. I've been so fucking excited to meet him for fucking forever i always thought I'd get on really well with him. and i did!! i came up to him first and asked for a hug and he was like "of course!!!" and opened his arms.

his grip wasn't as strong as george's but it was really really nice still. his hoodie is very soft and he smells like nice deodorant. the best way to describe it is the smell of the guy on the suit getting on the train at 8am. when i asked george to sign my phone sticker (gnf merch sticker) sapnap was very cute about it and asked if i wanted him to sign the badge. i said "yeah but ofc i want you to sign the sticker as well please!!!" and he looked very very happy and sweet about it😞😭 when we took the a mimir pic he looked at us, with his hands still on his face and asked IN A VERY DISTRESSED VOICE "did you guys close your eyes for the pic😨" and george and i were like. we had them closed :3 so. STILL MAKING THE MIMIR POSE he was like. wait i had mine open😭 i think he wanted to take the pic again, but i told him that it was ok AND HE LOOKED SO SO SO SWEET AND POLITE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE THING. i got such cuteness agression i still feel crazy thinking about it. he's not that much shorter than george tbh they look VERY almost the same height irl. he's lowkey ginger

1 part oversized and picked up on the side of the road (khaki shorts, sweatpants, or random plain t-shirt)

1 part georgeism paraphernalia (minions, fortnite, cats, or his friends merch etc)

Considering how much of foolish's current audience is littered with drantis who would rather die than give Dream money (even if none or very little of it actually goes to him as per Dream the company only makes about enough to be self-sustaining), I...would not be surprised if he left, disappointing as it would be. Hard to sell merch to a community that doesn't like the merch maker

I think another possibility is that Dream just...didn't suggest he renew his contract.

Like foolish clearly is not interested in making merch consistently nor was he probably bringing in substantial merch sales enough for them to pay to keep his merch in their warehouses. He just might not be a good candidate for Dream Branding anymore and that's perfectly fine.

The reality of it is that while Dream Branding makes a lot of money, they don't have a lot of storage space and they don't have a lot of employees. So they are still technically operating as a small sized business. So when you have creators under contract that are not bringing in a lot of money or seeming eager to renew their contract, it's perfectly fine to let them go.

They could also just be reshuffling inventory because we see that all the time with Dream's merch and the dteam shop, gnf, and punz shops have also had a reshuffle of inventory lately. Some could be to prepare for a new merch era after a period of inactivity (george) or to clear out space from a creator that might be leaving soon (punz) or something else.

I think sometimes people think these business contracts are supposed to be 100% representations of these people's real life relationships and that's just not the case. Maybe in Punz's case we may see him leave due to interpersonal conflicts (and his flopping career atm) but for the most part you'd be surprised about how few feelings are actually attached to these types of business deals.
