Any thoughts on what Chungmyung will react if reader became a villain? The reader let her thoughts consume her (almost like an erosion) causing her to leave the sect and encounter a demon or smth?. A what if another outcome from your comfort drabble (that became an angst now HAHAHAHA) if Chungmyung was not there to comfort her thoughts. ANGST ANGST ANGSTTTTTTTTTTTT
Tumblr media
when you said erosion, it made me think about mara-struck from hsr (◕ ワ ◕✿) where some of the characters, jingliu and blade, are affected by it but for cultivators in the world of xianxia/wuxia, this is called qi deviation. it is caused by improper use of cultivation, distractions during cultivation or bad cultivation (ex. demonic cultivation) and then the affected cultivator suffers from either backlashes, they go mentally challenged and even leads them to death.
for reader, i think if they qi deviate, they are most likely to think that they are in the past where the demonic cult still runs rampant. their mind imposing that they are in the middle of the war where the smell of blood is what they are used to. to anything their eyes set into, they thought it as a member of the cult, driven by a terrifying will to cut off any semblance. to put it briefly, they don't recognize the present. if reader will become a villain, i think chung myung is quiet while his mind thinks about where the fuck everything goes wrong. one moment, you are still standing beside him. then the other, you’re looking at him like a stranger before him. betrayed, he will demand answers to what the hell are you doing. why are you not beside him? are you possessed? do you really choose that path? did something happen? can he solve whatever problem you are facing?
chung myung is confused. a heavy heart makes it hard to breathe. mind racing to process this. unable to see the underlying issues, that you are suffering from qi deviation.
while he is aware that humans are unpredictable creatures — their deeds and intentions can’t hide their inherent nature — for all people, why you? is it wrong for him to trust you from the very beginning when he found out you’re just like him? that he found someone where he feels safe? his emotions free for you to reign, his knuckles had turned white gripping the scabbard tight.
a flower pleasant to look at, petals shining as the sun cast light on its shape, the breeze lightly swayed the corolla enticing for the spectator to touch it as they may find the flower attractive, only to send them into a painful daze – just a brush and chung myung is attacked by tremors as burning pain swells inside him.
anything other than this, once he realizes.
chung myung yearned to awaken you from your misery, but how could he? your dry, tired eyes stared at him unblinkingly. how can he rouse someone who hasn't slept in days, weeks, or even months?
was he to kill the only person alive left who understands him more than anyone?
the snow-buried tales in this mountain, will this confrontation, too, wait for a traveler to dig the bitter truth as the unforgiving howling winds?
the trail of red sickeningly contrasts the white of snow, head turning away, blind eye. as fate falters carrying one’s wishes.
that night, the plum blossoms mourn your passing.

(In which he ponders over the final moments of his senior.)
(ooc? chungmyung and gn!reader - second pov, angst.)
When did everything go so wrong?
He knew that there would be losses in this fight— it was against the heavenly demon, after all. He was ready to watch his companions die before him, watch the way they take the last of their breaths and watch them lose their life fighting. He knew that that might be his own fate as well, but he knew he had to keep fighting.
He just never expected your death to be one of the firsts.
Your death was so stupid as well, to save someone else instead of your own life? Were you dumb? They could've saved themselves. He knew they were strong enough. You knew they were strong enough. You were strong enough to win.
So why did you just go ahead and die? What made you give up on your own spirit and hesitate in a moment of war, even when you're the one who took this opponent for yourself? He couldn’t understand the train of your thoughts, and even after all those years spent trying, he never seemed to be able to.
  He wished he did, though.
He watched the way your eyes widened briefly at the strike, your blood rushing out of your body with a splatter and draining your face of its color. The grip on your weapon loosened, but you still held onto it like it was your lifeline. You gritted your teeth, ignoring the way blood dripped down your own skin like it was sweat and rushed forward, swinging your weapon towards everyone but the person who struck you first.
It was a cinematic beauty. The dark skies and heavy atmosphere, your strong and undefeatable spirit, a light against dark situation. The way your eyes shone with so much determination, even if the same light was slowly disappearing with each passing moment. Your sword, once smooth and powerful, struck with force that seemed to be filled with pain and regret.
He wonders, centuries later— was it your wounds that made you this way? Or was it the scars in your heart that had reopened the moment you saw your opponent, causing you to falter?
  He sighs. He’ll never know.
The words you mouthed to him at the last moment as well, the desperation and guilt over taking you as you still tried to reassure him in your final moments from afar. Stupid senior.
You’re the one hurt, not him.
You’re the one who’s surrounded with enemies, your strength depleting quickly, not him.
You’re the one dying, not him.
So, so foolish. So, so reckless. So, so arrogant.
So, so foolish. So, so reckless. So, so arrogant.
(He ignores the reminder of who he was truly describing at that moment.)
Chung Myung blinks, his vision blurring despite the tears that welled up in his eyes. No, it’s just the rain. He doesn’t cry, he’s not weak enough to cry over matters like this. After all, he had just decapitated the heavenly demon, the one who took away his comrades, his Mount Hua, his senior.
He huffed, the adrenaline rushing out of his system as the regret began to flood in. Ah, he really should’ve trained harder. He really should’ve listened. He wondered, what will become of Mount Hua after this? What will happen to everyone else? He worries, worries so much, but there wasn’t enough time to think.
His eyes began to fail him, his body falling to the ground. It felt soft, despite the hardships the people below him had carried. At that moment, he thought he saw his senior, crawling over to him with tears in their eyes, weakly calling out to him. He thought he could feel their familiar warmth, hugging his slowly freezing body that was sticky with blood.
  “Chung-myung…Don’t go, Chung Myung.”
  He hears, desperate and anguished.
He felt like laughing. Did his mind go crazy during the fight? His senses were all wrong now. How could he hear the voice of someone dead? They’re gone. Now, even his senior who always caught him in his mischief, couldn’t catch him anymore. He laughed—or rather, he tried— but failed, his voice stopping at his lungs that had begun to disappoint him as well.
Maybe, just maybe—he’ll see his seniors in heaven.
Even if he wouldn’t, he could always just fight gods to make sure he could meet them again.
Unfortunately, it was just a hopeless wish. How foolish of him, to even think it would come true. Perhaps this is karma for being the way he was when they were all still here.
(But, at least he’ll see them again soon.)

Can I request plum blossom saint Chungmyung falling in love with a freader who works at a bar/resturaunt he freaquents at?
Enjoy this little drabble! Thanks for the request and I am sorry this came out so late!
Chung Myung groaned in irritation as he entered his favorite bar and found it full. “Ah, sir! I have a table reserved just for you in the back. Follow me.” Your kind voice made him momentarily forget that he was angry. He followed you back towards the table you had mentioned and found that it was the same table that he would always sit at back before he died. He saw how clean it was and that it was marked by a ‘reserved’ card. Not many bars/restaurants do this for him even if he goes there hundreds of times a day.
He told you what he wanted and you swiftly went to the back to get what he wanted made and prepared. As he waited, he noticed that you would go back and forth between the kitchen and customers. Not long after he had ordered, you were placing the food on the table along with the sake and cup. You bowed before going back over to the other tables. As he ate and drank, the sun began to set and everyone soon left.
“Is there no one else that can help you?” He suddenly asked as he was getting ready to leave as well. You shook your head as you were wiping down the table. “They all quit when the person that hired me said I would be working here.” You answered. Chung Myung felt his eye twitch before he gently took your hand in his. “Why don’t you tell the person who hired you that you quit and come with me up to Mount Hua? You can work there.” He said. You thought for a moment but smiled at him and politely declined. “I can’t unfortunately. I am in charge of my younger siblings and need to be there for them.” You said.
Chung Myung noticed the look in your eyes and felt his heart thump painfully in his chest. “Could I ask you what happened to your parents?” He asked. You stopped what you were doing and felt tears fill your eyes. You placed the washcloth on the table and turned back to face him. “My parents died a few years ago. This job is the only thing keeping me and my younger siblings from living on the streets.” You said, grabbing the cloth and began cleaning again. Chung Myung thought for a moment before smacking his fist to his hand.
“You and your siblings can come and live up at Mount Hua.”
{5 months later}
You watched your brother’s train with the rest of the students from Mount Hua and couldn’t be prouder. You looked up when you felt a presence behind you and smiled warmly. Chung Myung looked down at you with soft smile on his lips before he squatted down. You turned around to face him, leaning forward and pressing your lips to his. You smiled when you felt his hands holding your face. Your heart bursting with love. Pulling away when air became necessary, you turned and leaned your back against his chest. “Thank you for finding me in that bar. I don’t know where I would be right now.” She whispered. Chung Myung smiled before holding his hand out, palm up. You smiled and placed your hand on his, your palm facing his. He closed his hand over your hand before you could pull away, making you giggle. You both sat and continued watching the other train before Chung Myung stood up and helped you up.
“Why don’t we go take a little walk?” He asked, a gentle smile, much different from the smiles he gives the other boys, making you giggle. He held his hand out to you and you happily took his hand. You both left and walked out of the Mount Hua training grounds where Chung Myung took you back into town to walk around. Your smile was the most important thing to him and he would do anything to keep that smile on your face.

Me: I hate cliches
Hotel del Luna: Chungmyung and Manwol, from opposite sides of the social order, fell in love but things happened because he’d rather have her live and hate him than die, but that decision weighed on his conscience so much that he watched over Manwol for the next one thousand years to see if she could get the happy ending he couldn’t give her, all while floating around as a firefly
Me, crying: Oh my gosh, I love cliches

Note
Honestly I don't have any idea nd I'm not that creative but if you do get a random idea for headcanons (anything rly) Abt go chungmyung please write about it ? Anytime you want if you want to ofc, don't force yourself or anything, ly have a nice day
Oof I have terrible 'out of sight out of mind' syndrome, meaning if I don't see the request right in front of my eyes it's unlikely that an idea will just pop up into my brain. These days I've been struggling with intense depression and it's taking up all of my mental space, making it impossible for me to think creatively. I do want to write more and I do want to keep this blog alive, but I just cannot come up with my own ideas atm. I'm sorry, but I just don't want to promise you anything I can't keep. If you do think of a specific scenario tho pls feel encouraged to share it with me and I will add my own thoughts :)

stage name: bora
date of birth: may 4, 1997
current age: 23 (kor: 24)
place of birth: gwangju, south jeolla province, south korea
ethnicity: korean
nationality: south korean
sexuality: heterosexual
height: 5′5″
likely positions (based on audition, past performance footage, and current information): main/leader vocalist, face of the group, leader, rapper, sub dancer
representative symbol: plum blossom
has been a trainee for: 9 years!
languages spoken: korean; english; a little bit of latin, french, spanish, portuguese, italian, and romanian
miscellaneous information.
faceclaim: jung jinsoul
vocal claim: jung jinsoul
rap claim: jung jinsoul
dance claim: jung jinsoul
audition song: “as time goes” - jinsoul* (link in source)
* in-universe, “as time goes” is bora’s self-composed song.
Tumblr media
fun facts.
although bora has never yet stepped foot outside south korea, she is familiar with so many languages because linguistics is her hobby. although her interest in it is quite academic, one of the reasons she began studying other languages isn’t so academic: “ruby tuesday” by the rolling stones is one of her favorite songs, and she wanted to be able to understand it.
bora is a talented pianist.
bora’s celebrity crush is hotel del luna leading man yeo jingoo. she says she wrote “as time goes” while imagining she was jang manwol walking in the bridge to the afterlife, leaving yeo’s character chansung behind. (however, her friends teased her by saying the song suited manwol and chungmyung more, which made her angry, because she doesn’t ship those two at all.)
she loves spooky concepts, which is probably obvious from her love of hotel del luna.
her favorite food is glazed lotus roots. as a bona fide child of gwangju, however, of course she’ll attest to how amazing their barbecued beef is.
she chose the stage name bora, which means purple in korean, because her surname means plum. plum is a shade of purple in english, and she likes the symbolism of plum blossoms (resilience, beauty, purity, hope, and prosperity). she also thinks it will be easy for an international audience to pronounce, which is the whole reason they have stage names anyway, but at the same time she wants to keep it korean.
biography + audition under the cut.
trigger warnings: descriptions of ableism, poverty, and bullying.
biography.
youngja was born in gwangju, one of south korea’s cuisine and fashion capitals. she had a wonderful time growing up, with a single mom who was a cook. her mother, eunji, truly loved her; that’s how youngja was able to have a nice childhood, despite their financial struggles and the social stigma they endured because they weren’t a nuclear family.
eunji found better and better jobs in the culinary world. by the time youngja was a teenager, she no longer had to worry whether or not she or her mother could eat. youngja was aware that her mother had aspirations of being an idol back in the day, but her unplanned pregnancy stopped her from achieving those dreams. so she offered to continue her mother’s dream for her, now that they had the money to pay for idol training.
youngja was a stand-out at her first agency. she was a klutz, sure, not the best dancer... but what did it matter when she was so musically gifted? a piano prodigy and a powerhouse vocalist. she was set to become a star.
the biggest problem really was that she was socially inept. youngja found herself with a distressing number of enemies and critics because of her “rude” or “arrogant” or “weird” behavior. she often cried to eunji about it.
but much as eunji loved her daughter, she was human too. she told her daughter to just ignore her peers; the woman was too enamored with the idea of having a superstar daughter to realize there was something else going on.
it wasn’t until youngja was 20 (kor: 21) years old and had given up on her idol dreams that she was finally diagnosed autistic. although the stigma made it hard for both mother and daughter to accept this at first, youngja eventually embraced her diagnosis. it helped her be gentler on herself, and understand herself more. maybe, just maybe, she’s ready to dream again.
audition.
bora sang her original composition “as time goes” while playing the piano. the panel was stunned by her incredibly clear and powerful vocals. “she’s really amazing at ballads,” said one judge.
“but i wonder if she’ll be good at dance pop too?” asked another. “i don’t think phoen-ix will only release ballads. you have to have variety.”
“i hear that she admits she’s not confident at dancing. and she’s pretty good at rapping, but doesn’t like it at all.”

(rewrite-ish) part II
(In which he ponders over the final moments of his senior.) (ooc? chungmyung and gn!reader - third to second pov, angst.)
(tw! mention of blood, war.)
In his blurred memories of blood and violence, he wonders where everything went wrong.
He wished it was just a simple, ‘oh, senior accidentally stumbled on their feet and landed on their face right in front of their enemies!’. But honestly, when had the gods ever favored him? If not him, when had the Gods ever favored his senior? He swore that perhaps the ever benevolent senior had wronged a deity in their past life, for their misfortune and their sufferings shouldn’t be given to a saint like them.
Or maybe that stupidly kind senior took the blame of a friend and gained their curses instead. That sounded much more plausible, to be frank. He wished he could grumble about it, but a part of him wonders why his senior became like this.
Even if he wanted to, it’s not like he could ask them now.
Chung Myung was no fool. He knew that in a war, there would be casualties, even if he was the strongest. It’s a dog-eat-dog kind of world out there, especially when the apex predator in this situation is the so-called heavenly demon Cheonma. In that situation, even him, who was renowned as the ‘plum blossom sword saint’, a person who would wreck others’ swords and pride easily with a single blow, felt like a mere rabbit struggling for survival.
It’s so, so tiring. It hurts so, so much.
Chung Myung could feel his blood drip down his skin, mixing with his sweat and producing a disgusting smell he tried to ignore. If Senior was around, maybe they would swat him away with a disgusted expression, telling him to go clean up or something. They would pinch their nose and scrunch up their eyebrows, a deep frown decorating their usual calm and collected face. During those moments, it was times where he would either be a good junior brother and obey his senior’s requests, or he would annoy them and stick closer to them, earning several frustrated shouts and futile attempts to pry him off.
He wonders, how his senior was managing? Someone as strong as them, would surely be able to fend themselves easily, right?
Oh, how he wished he was right.
But then again, perhaps the uneasy expression in his senior’s eyes before they departed for the journey would have warned him about the impending doom and unsettling feeling he had ignored at that moment. He should’ve stayed, tried to ask his senior what’s wrong, and maybe even protected his senior who shielded the entire mount hua with only a foolish smile and a sword in hand.
He really should’ve tried, even if he never managed to understand his senior.
When Chung Myung landed eyes upon his senior, he wished he could run towards them and block that swing. He wished that instead of fearing, he would’ve taken action instead. He wished that instead of shouting his senior’s name, he would’ve run and taken it for them.
Senior, why were you so stupid? Why did you only watch as the sword hits your chest, letting the tears you usually try to hold back flow down your cheeks? Why did the grip on your sword tighten as if you were going to war, yet your free hand tried to hold your opponent’s face, cradling it so softly as if they might break?
Senior, you’re so stupid. He couldn’t see your attacker’s expression, but he knew it held no love, for the desperate and heart-broken eyes you showed clearly reflected their face. The emotions you always tried to reign in, rained down your features so clearly now. The eyes that used to glimmer brightly in the sun, the eyes he used to love staring at, the eyes he could get lost in—It reflected the face of a person who he held so much hatred towards. At that moment, perhaps he was also angry that you held so much love towards that ungrateful bastard who had struck you. But, it’s all useless now, right?
Maybe you still had some sense in you when you raised your sword once more, realizing your duty and blocking off your feelings as if it was second nature. Once more, you showed your swordsmanship to the world, as if it was your final dance, your final performance before you’ve retired from the stage. Swords clashed against each other, the metal resounding across the stadium of your show as you replayed the tragedy of the eon. Light against dark, your determined expression faltering and revealing so much regret and pain. Chung Myung would’ve wondered what you regretted at that moment, for his entire life, you seemed as if you lived with no worries. But, he was no fool. He knew there were nights where you spent it alone, staring at the moon as if a lover had lost everything to the hands of fate.
Senior, why did you smile at him when your heart was so heavy with pain?
Even at that moment, where your life seemed to begin replaying before your eyes, you still smiled when you saw him, that same sheepish expression revealing itself whenever he caught you.
You whispered something to him, but he couldn’t hear it. He was too far, he always had been. And you, you had always walked too quickly for him to catch up. Not only him, you’ve always managed to outrun everyone else in Mount hua, always so far away from everyone else. Nobody could ever catch up to you. Nobody could ever understand you.
Even so, he wanted to be the first. He wanted to be there for you, just like how you were to him. So, why didn’t you give him a chance? Why did you leave so soon? Just when he thought he was able to, it seemed that you were still so, so far away from him. You always managed to catch him, so why couldn’t he do the same for you?
Senior, in your game of tag, can he play again with you soon? He promises he will try to catch you this time, so don’t leave so soon. He’s asking you politely, he swears he is. He wouldn’t be rude, he wouldn’t tease you and he wouldn’t smother you whenever you think he’s dirty. He’ll listen to you this time, so won’t you be a good senior and play again with him?
Chung Myung ignores the rain falling down his skin as he begs for the Gods to give him a chance. He ignores the way his body moves on instinct as he battles across your destroyed theater, hoping for a chance to meet you halfway through. Yet when all he is met with is the aftermath of a war, your body nowhere to be found, he falls to the ground, utterly exhausted.
  Right, he had killed Cheonma.
He wanted to celebrate this moment with you. But instead, he lies there lifelessly, his body too tired to do anything. Chung Myung thinks he heard your voice, calling out to him and he is reminded of the time where you would let him rest on your shoulder when he was tired, even if he was dirty. Stupid senior, you never really cared about it, didn’t you? All you wanted was for him to be happy.
But now, you have killed his heart. How could he be happy now?
He wants to rest on your shoulder once more, hear you hum a random tune as you ramble on about whatever that interests you. He wants to hear your voice once more, and this time he promises not to grumble about your nagging. He wants to feel your warmth against his skin once more, not the cold pile of body that lays beneath him.
Senior, he wants you to come back. So please, come home already.

Hotel Del Luna ep 14 spoilers
I feel that they rushed the part where she learnt the truth and let go of her resentment. It’s so unsatisfying and felt a bit patronising, considering that it’s something she held onto for more than a millennium. I do love the fact that Manwol send Chungmyung on his way to the afterlife though.
Also, why didn’t they let Manwol and Chungmyung hug one last time as themselves (instead of the hug when Chungmyung possessed Chansung as the last hug) before he became the firefly again or before she turned away from him at the bridge.
Okay, and sorry Yeonwoo, for disliking you for telling Chungmyung to live as a traitor. I thought it meant that you were the one who actually betrayed Manwol (it would have made the story even richer for me but we only have 16 eps so fine).
Ep 13 left me in devastation over Chungmyung. Ep 14 left me hurting for Chansung and a little unsatisfied with how the forgiveness rolled out.
Although I do have to admit that I love Chungmyung so much I was rooting for Manwol to take his hand at the bridge and go with him all the way to their afterlives lol. Does this mean this is the last of Chungmyung? I want to keep seeing Lee Do Hyun though :<
Lee Do Hyun only debuted 2 years ago, and he’s only 24, but I think he did a great job and has a bright future ahead of him as long as he continues to work hard. He seems like a kind person too (I came across an interview he did for a welfare organisation, and it seems like he took the initiative to contact them to help), so I really wish him the best and look forward to seeing how his career pans out.
